In October 2018, my car went in for repairs. Unfortunately, Flanagans was the only company on my insurance company’s panel, that was close enough for me to go to. I reluctantly went to them, as we have a panel beater that we have used for years and trust and would have much preferred to go to him. Well, firstly, they say they will keep you updated on your car, and that doesn’t happen as much as it should. When my car came back (there was a bit of a delay in getting it back), the paint job had not been done properly. I didn’t really do anything about it at the time and just carried on as normal. Then, March 2020, I had an accident where there was damage to my front left tyre, rim, front left fender, as well as a bit of damage to the bottom panel below my left doors. Again, I reluctantly took it to Flanagans due to my insurer only allowing them. I was definitely not too keen, after the service and bad work the last time and how delayed my repairs were. Upon dropping my car off, we chatted to the one guy doing the original inspection of my car and showed him the bad paint job at the back from the repairs in 2018. He said that their paint work carries a lifetime warranty and that they would fix the paint job at the back, with these repairs in March 2020. Well, that didn’t happen. My car repairs took longer than they probably should have and was then stuck at flanagans during lockdown (unavoidable). When my car finally came back in June, we noticed the bad paint job had not been redone and we were told that the guy who we spoke to about it, never told anyone else about it and that is why it wasn’t done. They then said that once things get busier and stricter lockdown lifts (and moving away from skeleton staff), they will repair the paint job and give me a courtesy car. That did happen, but after me nagging for it to be done after another month and a half; I think they thought I would just forget about the repairs. I had to tell them that I want the repairs done now and don’t want to wait any longer, as the issue was their fault and I was being prejudiced. I did get a courtesy car and the repairs were done. To top this all off, the assessor’s report from my accident in March 2020, that was sent to my insurer, said that a new rim was going to be put on and wheel alignment and balancing done. This was not done correctly, and when I felt uneasy with how terribly my car was driving and shaking, I took it to a tyre company that we have used for years and who we trust, to have a look at my left front tyre and rim and do balancing, etc (even though Flanagans was supposed to do it), they were shocked at how badly my rim was damaged and bent and how shocking my balancing was, proving that my rim was never replaced and that the balancing was also not done by Flanagans, even though my insurer paid for this to be done. I had been driving around in a car, that was supposed to be to the same standard as it was before my accident and which I thought was safe, and it turns out that it was neither of these. My insurer is investigating Flanagans, due to things not being done. I had to fork out money to have things done, to get my car to drive-able standard, and which should have been done by Flanagans, due to it being paid for and on the report of repairs to be done.

I recently was unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident last year before the festive season. My vehicle had to be towed and was taken to Pietermaritzburg. Being close to December and people in general are gearing for holiday spirits my vehicle got towed to the panel beaters, which my insurance company recommended. It a week to come up with just a quote to repair my vehicle. This after numerous calls and follow ups on my behalf, and then to be told my vehicle would only be ready, if I’m lucky by the end of January 2023. After a little research I came across Flanagans auto body and repair, gave them a call and they were willing to do the job. My vehicle had some extensive damage to it, but they assured me they would get it done, and being Toyota approved, gave me the peace of mind and the fact that they have been in the business for many years….they gave me time a line, and true to there word they stuck to it… my vehicle came back better then before, and the whole experience was a pleasant one. Even after my vehicle was repaired I got a call from the owner Shaun Flanagan to check up, and if my vehicle was fine… All and All a 5 star experience!

I was initially told my car would take 5 working days to repair... Then in the fifth day told it would take another 5 days maximum... On the 10th day told that it may take another 3 business days... I have stressed go these guys how important it is for me to have my vehicle for work purposes... They have delayed something like a windscreen replacement because apparently insurane rejected a clear and obvious accident damage item... My broker had to go back and forth trying to solve this issue and another... (more delays) Flanagans reception Mandy is always very anxious over the phone... Shes always saying shes busy etc and comes across in a manner that isn't professional. My advice she should get a job where the stress is manageable because she Cleary can't deal accordingly. In 2 weeks I received one call once due to the windscreen. I call almost everyday... Sometimes my call would be returned if lucky... I will definitely be posting reviews after my car is finally received. I just hope the job is done properly and there's no reason to update my reviews to hello Peter etc.

Absolutely appalled and disgusted by the customer service as well repair service received from this establishment that is meant to be Mazda and Discovery Insure approved. The paint was not matched correctly as well as a poor quality of repair performed on my bumper. My husband was met with an aggressive woman in the customer service department who yelled and humiliated him in front other members of staff and customers. A simple explanation regarding a document was needed by my husband and I and what we've experienced was nothing short of verbal abuse. This then escalated to my husband being accused of being on drugs. Unprofessional customer service and zero interpersonal skills on top of poor workmanship which was not met with much concern or accountability.

Never use this company! They called us to collect our vehicle after 1 week but the paint colour was totally wrong, they did not completely repair the bumper and they didn't even align it properly. A woman, Kim, who works in the reception area was extremely rude to me and started shouting at me in front of other customers after I stated that I cannot sign a release document that says that I accept the repair has been done to my full satisfaction when it hasn't been. This woman is totally incompetent to deal with customers. I have an eye problem which makes my eyes red and she accused me of being on drugs! She treated the white woman after me very nicely but I was treated in a terrible way for raising a simple query.

Wow! When my insurance company sent me to them for an assessment, I was sure to tell them over the phone about the panel beater I wanted to use. That changed the minute I walked into their shop. It looked as if you could eat off their workshop floor! I’ve never seen such a thing. Needless to say I had no problem taking my vehicle there to be repaired once the claim was approved. And I was not disappointed! Their workmanship was great, but the best part was getting a play by play update as my vehicle was moved between departments. I received regular emails with photos!!! This is next level. Way to go Flanagan’s!

I don't often review companies, but my experience with Flanagan's was exceptional. The great customer service, clean workshop (never seen that at a panel beater before), communication through their online and mobile updates, etc. were all top drawer. I can see why they are approved by all the major car marques. Highly recommended and if (I hope not) I need a panel beater again, I will go straight here.

Would never recommend this panel shop. Car has been sitting there for 3 months. They painted it several times and cannot get the colour right. Panels not aligned. The car was not even polished and I was expected to just accept that. Body filler still visible, overspray all over. According to them they need new panels to get the colour to match.

Wow , from appearance experience to communication I was really blown away didn't realise the experience of having an accident could be so seamless. Discovery recommended us to choice Flanagans and I was taken aback to meet service levels at there finest. I was updated daily on the progress of my baby Highly recommended on service delivery.

I approached this business because of good reviews but when I asked them to quote on a vehicle with some rust they were not even interested in driving 4kms to quote. I am unfortunately out of town and not able to drive it there. They also charges a hefty Admin fee to quote if I towed it there. Not quite exceptional service in my view.

The workmanship and customer service was poor in my case. My experience with Flanagans is that of a company that seems to view the customer as a nuisance attached to a paycheck that has to be endured. I envy those that received good service from Flanagans but I was not one of them.

Did a job through insurance and the completed job was well below standard...very disappointed. Hopefully they can rectify their errors. Terrible service...had such high hopes especially from seeing the waiting area but it seems it was just smoke and mirrors.

Went today to get a cash quotation. I waited over 10 minutes and no one came to assist me. The receptionist made several calls and was told the assessor was on his way. Felt so insignificant and that my business was not important.
