Felt compelled to write this because it seems like a smear campaign was happening with 3 similar comments posted at the same time... Apologies for the monologue. I'm a frequent patron and I find this place to be really good in terms of service, staff and food. Often times, I'm blessed with excellent customer service and sometimes extra perks, but I think that may be related to being a good customer. From remembering my frequent orders to upsizing at no extra charge, I've seen this grace extended to other frequent patrons as well. Such connections can be made here. I have never experienced or heard of the staff or management augmenting or disconnecting wifi while in the store. There have been times when the internet doesn't work while I'm there throughout the day. But I find, after a simple conversation with the staff, that the problem is either a service provider disruption, or a technical glitch when too many people are connected at the same time. They are quick to resolve it if and when they can. I'm glad I don't always have to use my data when I'm there, but then again, I have my own data and private internet when the luxury of free internet is not at my beaconing call. I'm sure most can understand and appreciate that free doesn't mean guaranted or earned. I would invite any of the complainants to allow I and other patrons free unlimited use of their internet connections whenever the coffee shop is experiencing these technical difficulties. Surely they know what great, robust, trouble-free internet is since they have it and it definitely wouldn't cost them anything extra to share it?! C'mon! What's the password? It's "yeahright." All lowercase. I'm sorry, it's says no connection... -------- As for outlets at booths goes, I've been the unfortunate soul that has tripped over crossing cables from someone plugging in at one table, but stretching the cord to another. I'm sure that, after falling on my face, management felt it appropriate to consider customer safety over the much needed "free electricity" that must be advertised somewhere... Perhaps under the coffee cups? I haven't seen it... Speaking of which, since it's being suggested that the bottom line is what drives the changes at this business, let's explore it - which would be the better business choice: losing $5/month after overhead from an entitled customer who can't charge their devices vs. a $5 million lawsuit for life altering injuries due to management negligence? Hmm... Safety first. It could saves millions. What a nice slogan... ------ I can't speak on other's experiences, but I can use mine to highlight and echo the good things that these people do. You get what you give is a common principle I've learned over the years and I've gotten lots of positives from this Coffee Culture. I hope my personal insight can provide a different perspective to those considering this establishment. Love these guys!

I've been a customer now for over a year, been going for breakfast which always seemed like a decent price for what you get. Today I decided to try their Asiago Steak Bagel with a side soup. When I got back to my store, I opened the bagel and saw that there wasn't even enough meat to cover the bagel. I didn't pay $10+tax ($11.29) for a bagel and scraps. I went back to try and get a refund or a new sandwich that actually looked like what they advertised. The rude employee gave me attitude and said she would have to call the manager. After her conversation, she brought out $8.90. When I told them they short changed me by $2.40, they said they were only able to refund the amount for the bagel. I showed them the receipt which showed $9.99+tax so she gave me another $1. Still short changed by $1.40 which was evidenced by the receipt provided. They told me they weren't authorized to give me back my tax. I asked to speak to a manager and they told me that I would have to call the number on their website when the manager was in. So to get this straight, they robbed me, and then don't have a single manager on site, on a Saturday afternoon, to refund money owed to a customer that paid. Truly disappointing, as this is the second time this week that the portion seemed extremely small (first time was the Avacado chicken salad). It's not the money, it's the principle, and their principle seems to be money over customer service which is going downhill.

I have started going to this location since they first opened. They used to have outlets at every booth to be able to charge devices while studying/getting work done. After some time the outlets were removed from most of the booths, which I am assuming was done to prevent people from coming and staying for an extended period of time to study and get work done. Time after time I have noticed that once there were a number of people sitting in booths studying the wifi would just disconnect. That lead me to believe that it was done on purpose just so again anyone staying for an extended period of time studying would eventually leave because wifi would be necessary to get work done. This happened yet again when I went with a few of my friends to get some work done. Mind you when we go to get work done we usually all get some food from their alone with a couple of drink. This has been happening for years now and when you ask an employee they are very rude about it and no one seems to be working on this issue. I have read the reviews and I can now see I am not the only one that has experienced this so it is clear that they do not want you to spend much time there, just get in and out. This is not what I expect from a coffee shop, as all successful coffee shops you walk in to their wifi is fully functioning on a day to day basis and there are always people doing work.

As a regular to this place, I find it extremely insulting and disrespectful from the branch owner to show careless about his customers. Clearly making money is over customers respect. I arrived and asked the lady who served me to sit on a corner table which is a big one and I was told sure no problem. Few hours later the owner comes and asks to move me and my friend to a very small table that barely fit both our books and laptops. He clearly said: “I have a group of 5 who needs the table” When I asked for a proper replacement, he didn’t provide and when I said am a regular and this means I should never come back, response was: “up to you” and “This is the first time I see you” seems he has a day job or another business and never came in the morning! When I asked for the mother company complaints email, a guy seems a co-owner or relative to the franchise owner said: “you realize you are talking to the owner” I was astonished!! Should I be scared or worried talking to the owner and complain against their behavior?!! Really bad experience and disrespectful.

Honestly if I could give this place one star I would. The place looks really nice from the outside but their customer service and products are beyond terrible. One of the employees gave my friends and I hardcore attitude from the moment we walked in and kept rolling her eyes. Meanwhile, they would treat white people with utmost respect and kindness that they failed to provide to all customers. So If you’re a person of colour or a visible minority, PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE. Then, I ordered something relatively pricey to make our experience a little bit better and it’s the worst thing I’ve eaten in a while. I couldn’t even finish it from how raw the waffle was. The fruits were good though I’ll be honest but I mean what do I expect from someone who can’t even smile or avoid giving attitude for no reason. Overall, the employees here need serious customer service training to improve their overall experience for customers. Also, their wifi is pretty terrible, so if you’re a student, also avoid this place because you will barely get stuff done.

Great service, decent atmosphere, and ok food. I stopped here after a bike ride. There a public bike locks located out front. The main entrance is locked for some reason and you need to enter via the parking lot - I think it's to stop randoms from using the bathrooms, which are located right there. There are lots of seating options and they seem to cater to the working crowd. I ordered the value combo for $4.99, which includes a medium coffee and breakfast sandwich (English muffin, cheese, egg). The coffee was pretty mediocre. The breakfast sandwich is bland. The service is quick, and the ladies working were all very kind and efficient. It's a decent place, but the actual food and drink need some attention. It is, after all, a restaurant.

We have been here with my wife several times. After the last time, we decided to write a review. It all depended on the staff who served us; the first time, we really liked it! But during the last visit, two Hindu girls stood and laughed out loud instead of serving... We ordered two cappuccinos, cheesecakes, and donuts, as well as a glass of tap water, stating that we would drink coffee inside. They brought us two cappuccinos in disposable cups, and they were completely different in taste. The donuts were definitely not fresh and dry. Alas, we didn't wait for our water and left in bewilderment... It would have been 1 star, BUT the previous times, the service was very good.

I came here with 3 friends to catch up on some school work and after sitting for 30 min and purchasing 3 meals and 4 coffees they disconnected the wifi (even though there is a sign that says 'Free Wifi' at the door. After asking the workers about it they rudely said they will 'reboot it' and 30 minutes later no changes to the wifi were made. After reading reviews I noticed that other customers have had the same problem with the employees turning the wifi off as soon as it got busy in hopes of people leaving. All plugs are also covered so you cannot charge any devices. The service here is absolutely ridiculous and I don't appreciate being mislead and lied to by the employees. SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR GOOD SERVICE.

I was there today, came around 1:00pm and ordered a small decaf late with almond milk and I was given a decaf cappuccino with regular milk. When I returned and said what I actually ordered, one of the girls took my coffee, removed foam and added some extra milk and gave it back to me. I was, I'm sorry but I ordered a small defac late with almond milk, she yelled at me "No you did not". I was yes I did, and she started arguing and at the end they told me to go back to my seat and they will bring me my order. What ever they brought it was not what I ordered and paid. It's okay to make a mistake but at least you hire some decent people. Girls were extremely rude. I would NOT recommend this place!

I have only been there a couple of times but the drinks are good, the place is very cozy, has tv screens and booths that each have outlets. Very accessible for people who will be bringing their laptop/tablet. Free WiFi as well. It is a great place to go grab a coffee and study. However, it does seem to always be packed with that kind of clientele - people who buy one thing and sit in there for hours on their laptop. It's not a huge deal, just bothersome if there is no where to sit/study because other people who had their coffee hours ago are taking up the space. The price is average for a classier coffee shop. Similar to I would say the likes of second cup for some items.

horrendous experience that we received from one of the staff today. It was the server with the self harm cuts all over her arm, and nose ring. She was not wearing her uniform so I think you would be able to identify who it is easily. She was incredibly disrespectful and short tempered, livid with us for us interrupting her conversation with her coworkers. We are regulars at the shop, and stop by daily. I have never experienced so much disrespect. The order was incorrect as well, which I think was done intentionally. I am definitely going to be reaching out to coffee culture head office.

Zero concept of customer service in this place. I walked in and wasn't acknowledged for a while because the girls were too busy chatting. So I just stood there awkwardly waiting to be served. Pastry wasn't fresh, tasted a day old. And so many tables were dirty that there was limited seating left to choose from. Maybe your staff should get off their phones and clean up sometimes. Also, I saw what you (the owner) wrote on other people's poor reviews about emailing you a guest receipt. Sorry, but I don't keep receipts from a coffee and donut. As a matter of fact, I wasn't even given one.

It was my favorite place for a long time, but today I had awful experience. It started when I was making an order, that cashier was poking her nails showing like she is doing me a favour accepting my order. While I was paying she left somewhere, I was waiting for my table number she came back impatiently and threw me number 12, that fell down near my cup. Then I asked her password for wifi, she didnt even turned to me, mumbling smth. And the final shot - she brought me waffles with a hair. WTF, she did not like me personally or it's just her way of treating people? Good thing - I found many other great places on the lakeshore.

  • Karthik B

Hands down, one of my favourite cafes in town! The coffee is great and most importantly, the staff is wonderful - they really make you feel welcome and without exception, each and every one has amazing attitude. I've spoken to the owners multiple times and they're sooo nice! Every seat is equipped with an electric outlet. The ambiance is chill, with a happy mix of college kids, the occasional blue collar and some casual strollers stopping by. Aside from the wide selection of beverages, you can help yourself to smoothies, sandwiches, bagels et al. They're open until 11 pm, which is another big plus. Highly recommended!

  • M D

The girls don't know the difference between a cappuccino and a Latte... even when you specifically request NO FOAM PLEASE!! The prices are too high worse than Starbucks. At least Starbucks knows how to make a pumpkin spice Latte! This one here was the absolute worst non-drinkable ever and they served my cake on a cracked plate with a big chip out of it! Although the last guy had a response to his review, they asked for a receipt in which they don't even give receipts at the cash.

Coffee Culture is my new go to coffee shop when I'm in the Lakeshore West area. If you're unsure of which coffee to purchase, let the servers know and they'll give you a free sample. Or you can take my recommendation and try the fair trade organic coffee. A slightly sweet flavor with a hint of caramel and fruit. If you're feeling peckish, try the chocolate chip cookie. It's golden brown on the outside, tender and chewy on the inside. Overall, a soothing ambiance at Coffee Culture. Beautiful lighting, great music and gorgeous decor. My new go to place to unwind and study.

  • S Spat

I honestly really liked the cozy vibe of this place, and I greatly enjoyed the mocha latte and tomato soup that I ordered. However, the person I was with ordered a chicken wrap and found a long hair in it, despite the hairnets worn by the staff. The staff handled it well, replacing the meal immediately, but I still feel it should be noted to future customers to check their food before eating.

Went here for the first time today thinking I could finally find a local place to work. Not only does this place not have wifi, there is a 90 minute limit on how long you can sit. Clearly not a place for working on anything. That’s fine- I get it. So I ordered some lunch to go. I think someone got distracted while making my order because the soup is quarter full. Would add a photo to show but don’t have the option for some reason. Disappointing as it was good. Decent pumpkin spiced latte.

This issue with this location is that they let students sit one or two per table, they buy one coffee and stay for hours. Any one looking to sit with a group larger than 3 is out of luck. This is not the first time it has happened. The service and coffee are fantastic, it is the atmoaatmos that gives a low rating. I understand students like a place to sit but why take up a large table for one person, and the location does nothing about it unfortunately. I will give it another try as it is good service but still not a favorable spot

  • Daniel and Virginia-Ann Gawel

The experience of the customer service was awful tonight. I understand that it was close to the end of the night and they may have been tired but they just seemed impatient, and rude while we were deciding our orders and really upset when we couldn’t understand what they were saying. This isn’t my first time having an unpleasant experience with the servers when ordering. Also, the website hours weren’t accurate, and the server rudely let us and all the customers know they were closing at 8:55pm instead of 10pm like it said online.

Amazing value, delicious food! Getting tired of the same old morning thing, I decided to try Coffee Culture. That was a few months ago now. I have gone back at least 3 times every week. Their Power Up breakfast bagel is really delicious. Their green smoothie is amazing and pretty healthy. Today I used their mobile app to order and pay in advance, and the food was ready within a minute of me arriving. What a pleasant experience! The staff at this location are really friendly and make me want to return often. Thumbs UP !

  • Ana Bastas

The manager/owner here is rude and demeating. Head office should really look into training her in customer service. We ordered 2 iced matcha drinks. We did not ask for sugar, nor were we asked. When we went to ask to have the drinks remade, we were met with hostility by this owner, who advised us that she did us a favor by making us the drinks LMAO. We didn't even see you ma'am until we complained. At $6 per drink....she did us a favor? Never coming here again!

I had a turkey avocado sandwich and a coffee latte it was really very tasty , relatively large, and reasonably priced. I sat for a while and worked on my laptop. I walked in with my coffee in my hand since I wanted to order one of their sandwiches. At first everything seemed fine as the owner took my order, I then waited for my sandwich next thing I knew the owner wanted me out of her coffee culture since I was sipping on a Starbucks coffee which she could have simply told me before I ordered my sandwich. I guess she wanted my money before kicking me out. I'm guessing with her bad attitude that her coffee culture won't last much longer.

From a coffee shop you expect a few things: good coffee and food, an atmosphere, and free wifi. This location shuts off their wifi to prevent people from working here and to increase their turnover. If you look at other successful coffee shops (aka starbucks) they've built their success off creating work friendly atmospheres. This is unacceptable as we (group of 4) bought lattes and full meals in anticipation to spend a few hours working. Never coming here again!

  • Ezra Absher

Great little coffee shop with reasonable prices. Didn't try the food but their Portuguese custard tart was good. Looks like they have soup and sandwiches. Their oat creamer/milk is really gross, we had to have our oat lattes remade with normal milk. But otherwise, a very enjoyable experience. update: had the turkey avocado sandwich, it was so good! My wife said it was spicy but I did not notice much.

Been coming here for a couple days to know that they turn off the wifi when they want people to leave. Even if you spend $20+ they will kick you out or ask you to sit somewhere else. I heard a worker say "turn off the wifi and restart in 15 minutes so people get up". Takes a long time for them to make a caesar salad, and when they do its a small portion for $8!! Benefit of coming here is the comfy booths but besides that just avoid at all costs.

  • Hesham Al Hilal

I really like this place. Its very cosy and not fancy which is always a plus for me, most fancy cafes are over compensating for a bad service or a subpar food Their service is great and their coffee is good for its price tag. Oh yea its very affordable. I didnt get the chance to try the pastries so this is why its a 4 out 5 for coffee and atmosphere and maybe a 5 when I try out thier other menu items.

Overall place is nice and food is good but me and my girlfriend were asked to leave because i plugged my charger in a power source that was already loose and broken and the store owner called and told the employee to ask us to leave because I used it. I found that very unprofessional. It is their duty to fix stuff like that not to blame it on the customer and have them leave. Definitely VERY UPSET and DISSAPOINTED with how we were treated.

Grear place to be able to study and work on what you need while having healthy snacks. Very chill and great environment overall. Downside is that no matter what you buy in house, you can't bring outside food. A friend and I both bought drinks at the cafe to eat with our wrap. They said no.

Horrible customer service. No kindness whatsoever. It’s simple to be a good person and treat your customers right. Guess not here. The manager was extremely disrespectful and told us she’s doing us a favour by making our drinks as per her liking and not ours - huh??? Didn’t want to remake a $6 drink as per how I ordered (and paid for) it to be. Guess I’m asking for too much? Wish I could give a 0 star.

  • Emad R

The coffee was mediocre at best but the reason I’m leaving this review is for the customer service I received (or lack of). The attitude of the server was horrible and I don’t believe she even said a single word during my interaction with her when ordering. If you hate your job this much, you might as well leave, there are plenty of people who would be extremely grateful to get hired and have a job!

  • Amaninder Singh

Just the kind of cafe you would want to go to unwind your work week stress. Despite being one if a chain of coffee shops, it still has a lot of personal touch. The staff was very warm and friendly. The manager was very courteous and gave great food recommendations. We had the popular BLT sandwich and avocado and Turkey sandwich. Both of which exceeded our expectations. BLT was a clear winner still.

What would be better than to relax in a comfy chair in front of a wall mounted TV, with your cup of coffee or tea of choice? That "Better" is Coffee Culture, with its great selection of sandwiches, soups and deserts. Service is quick too, as these delicious goodies are delivered to your table in mere minutes with a friendly smile. Everything you want in a coffee shop, but more...and I love it.

  • Panayiotis Michael

The asian lady staff who works came across rude on a multiple occasion, the first time she was trying to remove me from the washroom by knocking the door repeatedly to get me out and the second time was when i moved to a different table , she came across confrontational in nature to discourage me from moving to another table. Her behavior was not only unwelcoming but also quite forceful.

Horrible customer service from the owner! They made my coffee incorrectly and I asked for it to be replaced and they refused. I had a sandwich and since I didn't have my coffee I couldn't even enjoy it. What a waste of money to buy stale coffee and the sandwich was not even worth it. I have gone to other locations and they are great! This is by far the worst.

The managers need to do something about the temperature at this location. I love going there, however, I can't sit and enjoy a coffee and muffin as it is soooooooo hot all of the time. So far - not good. Came to meet a friend there at 9am on Tue - all 8 tables for two are occupied by sigle people with laptops and with one cold and full coffee cup. The two other larger are reserved. No abailable places. The bothering music is too loud to talk and hear each other. I would suggest the owner to turn off wifi at all.

Starbucks used to have an apple fritter that was out of this world. They’ve since discontinued it. I am so happy to know that Coffee Culture’s apple fritter is even better!!! Their sandwiches are also made to perfection. So glad I finally decided to try this place. Great coffee, great atmosphere, great staff.

  • Timothy P. O'Connor

Nice atmosphere for a brief get-together. Dessert prices are quite inflated for average gate. The coffee and tea offerings are pretty standard, but we found the quality just slightly below average. We'd go again for a nice coffee and chat, but it's not where we'd go for that *just-so* coffee or tea craving.

Great cafe, lots of open space and attached to ample free underground parking. They will offer to warm up your pastry for you, which is always nice.

I really liked the one time I went to Coffee Culture (which wasn’t this location). But I loved the reviews from my friend who visited and will definitely be trying this place in the near future!

This would be my 4th straight day of visiting after or before class and this is my new go-to place. Thank you so much to the pleasant staff in the noon to early evening shift. Great people who can brighten up your day, and coffee culture also has a great selection of course. Highly recommend!

I dropped by on a Saturday morning just before 10am for a grab and go, place wasn’t to busy. The store was clean, tidy and the staff were polite & friendly, the toasted whole wheat bagel was fantastic, fresh, light and moist. Coffee was not to my taste, I’ll be back to sample other items.

Love that place. Only a year old but got my attention for my morning latte or to meet with a client in afternoon. Plaza well known for teenagers from near schools to meetup to show off and do donuts on a fresh snow. Might be interntainy, just look for cops. They love that plaza too.

  • Diane Schuster

Absolutley cozy. Coffee is always hot and for me brewed just right. Never had problems with their food.

Great location in the new plaza! Parking is conveniently located at the back making the location more comfortably secluded. The atmosphere and vibe at this place is warming. Great for a group setting, studying, or an intimate hang out spot. Will be coming back here for sure.

  • Lidia Cherviakova

My favorite Coffee Culture's location! Above and beyond customer service, always fresh and delisious food. Their coffee is my favorite in the city. Very clean and spasious place also. I travel from another part of Toronto to enjoy the experience and it's totally worth it!

  • Mike M.

A great cafe. This location has an enthusiastic and dedicated staff committed to ensuring that you have a wonderful experience. With a menu full of delicious options for any meal of the day and great coffee this cafe is an ideal spot to spend some time enjoying your day.

  • Steve Furlong

Great service. Friendly staff. My go to place for writing. However, the music keeps repeating... Can get annoying. What about some silence for a while? It would definitely make it better to have a phone call and not hear blazing pop music in the background.

Previously was good, last time was decent as well but we wanted dine in, but they never asked if dinning in or out and packed in plasic to go boxes,

Nice atmosphere. We wanted to order a dish that included ice cream, but they ran out of it or so they told us, so we end up ordering something else. 20 minutes later when I walk by the counter I see a server whip out a tub of, guess what, ice cream! Lol.

Amazing coffee, cappuccinos and fraps. The booths are cozy and clean. Staff is extremely friendly and always have a smile on their face. Love studying here and trying different options on their menu!

The place is nice, but the food is terrible. I ordered an avocado chicken bowl and it was absolutely disgusting. Paid 15$ with tax . They said we make it fresh for you, but it is not. The chicken smells bad. Never come here again for food …

Visited 4 times , not even single smile or courteous attitude while serving, and pushing snidely to buy more items on the menu. I hope owner takes notice of this review, it’s a great location and would like to keep coming to coffee culture.

  • Vanessa Dunne

Had a delicious Mango Chai smoothie, the girls who work there are so friendly and helpful! The two girls working tonight chatted with me for over 15 minutes about all the fresh menu options. I'll definitely be back to try some more things.

  • Mike Xue Griffin

The coffee and egg mcmuffin deal is very standard (plain) but a great bang for your for buck, all the other food tastes better. Their menu is best if going for breakfast or lunch. Service is excellent, and window seats are really nice.

  • naomi agard

I’ve been going there since I was like 15, now I’m 20. Best place ever. When I’m away for school or not in port credit I think about their sandwiches often. While I’m in the area I eat their power up breakfast bagel daily. 11/10

Food is excellent. The only thing is that I couldn't finish my coffee and sandwich because the heat was like a sauna, please keep the heat a bit lower.

Great service. Good food & beverage selection. Their value morning combo for an egg & cheese breakfast sandwich with coffee can't be beat - freshly made and your choice of coffee. So happy it's opened up in our neighborhood.

  • Sarah Elborno

The best of all coffee culture & eatery in GTA. Excellent managers and staff. Amazing seating indoors. Clean washrooms. They go above and beyond and always make a fresh pot of coffee. Their edible food is fresh as well. 5/5.

The food was good but bland. The prices were relatively cheap compared to other places that offer the same things. I myself had a waffle and a chocaccino. The waffle seemed to be more of a cake batter than a waffle batter.

  • Angelina Wright

Very friendly staff, always with a smile. Cozy and clean. Service is fast. I would recommend the Power up smoothie or the Super green smoothie.

Can't speak to the food but there was a line inside at the counter with several construction workers who were not wearing masks. They were being served by the staff. We decided not to dine there because of this.

  • Amna Adnan

Love the outdoor space and couches but there aren't too many outlets availible so if you plan on studying there, come outside of rush hours to get a seat. Great coffee and good food, nice staff service as well!

  • Dhimitri Gusho

People are nice and the service very good. However that place is full of people with laptops who order nothing and for us there was not a decent place to sit. They have to fix this problem. It is not a library.

  • Yg Gupta

All the tables were uncleaned. One of the customers asked the server politely to get his table cleaned. During the pandemic (it's not ended yet) and regardless, why not clean a table used by someone else?

Friendly staff, fast service! I had the blue berry matcha smoothie it was really good. Cashier didn’t recommend anything else to try. After I got it wasn’t really sure where to sit so we left.

  • Peter Katona

One of the best places that I have ever been two they are nice and they bring you your food and make awesome. I like the change that's comeing to lake shore now and its slowly looking better.

  • Rachel L

We enjoy the Coffee Culture once a week for breakfast. The staff are very kind, and the food is fresh. My favourite is the power-up bagel - half of it for breakfast and the rest for lunch.

  • Nazar Miloshkin

Absolute favorite place to come and get a coffee and sit down, great selection for food and tasty coffee. The atmosphere is comfy and spacious. My to go place to go in the neighborhood.
