The selection here, depending on what genre you're looking in, is usually fairly decent but the customer service is really not great. I say this as someone who previously worked at Barnes and Noble and am familiar with Bookmaster, that more than a few of the booksellers don't look at either release dates or formats when we're in looking for a specific book (usually a new paperback). Two experiences that stand out are when my spouse was looking for a new paperback that could have been either in history or food writing. The first bookseller looked it up, said it was only in hardcover and not in stock. The website said differently and while there can be discrepancies, we went upstairs and asked someone else. They found it for us very quickly, correct edition and everything. Another experience was my spouse looking for a list of books. His taste and interests are a bit snooty but not so far out of the realm of mainstream. As each title was not in stock, the bookseller made a snide comment about them being arty books that no one is interested in, to the person ASKING for them. Most of them were listed on the NYT book podcast so they weren't even THAT much out of left field. So, most of the booksellers are not super pleasant or even competent when it comes to looking up stuff. Again, from someone familiar with the system. It's pretty hit or miss on whether, if you need help, you get someone who can distinguish between hardcover or paperback, and whether or not they actually have it. On top of that, none of the booksellers have been particularly nice or friendly, which I wouldn't mind as much if I could trust them to look up a book properly.
This is just an amazing area hands down! Yes, before all of the major development the area used to be more quaint, but I will say that they've done well in replacing that feeling. It may not be as small and cozy as it once was, but they have managed to keep the soul of the area alive. There are many shops, businesses and other activities for people to enjoy, Sugarhouse Park is maybe a 10 minute walk away. There was a fire recently October 2022 and these photos are from said fire. The area is cordened off and I'm sharing this with you so as to make your journey more amenable.
This is a decent shopping center and it has a really neat walkway through a wooded area that let's out into sugarhouse Park. The library here is very cute as well. The problem here is the parking lot/ traffic (really all of sugarhosue but most especially here). It's a very tight parking lot with very limited spaces for the amount of shoppers they get. People fly through here and backup at break neck speeds when there are dozens of pedestrians nearby. There isn't alot that can be done to fix this situation, but nonetheless it's pretty egregious
It is a very nice shopping center. There are outlets so you can charge your phone while you eat lunch. The Salt Lake City Library is on the West side of the parking lot anther Police Station is below Petco by whole foods. Security is there are night so you can not loiter or use the outlets after the stores close. There is a good chance that you could get help if you need it. I have never had a problem in the shopping center.
Nice shopping area, has mostly what one needs without driving zig zag thru the valley to various stores. It will be much nicer and easier to access once road repairs are done. Construction is taking a long time, access to the mall area is best from 1300 East. Parking spaces are plenty.
Awesome comfy lounger seats that you can kick your feet up and chair leans back your practically laying down and they are nice and wide if you are a larger person like I. Also there is a station at consession to add more butter to your bucket yourself!! Ah yeah
The Commons has a good variety of budget shopping and dining. Noodles and Co and Panda being favorites. There is a two story Barnes And Noble. There is plenty of parking and a driveway to the next set of shops surrounding Whole Foods.
Ample Parking ! Not the higher priced shops or the higher quality you see at City Creek . But a nice combination of clothing to pet supplies that you can't find at any supermarket. I think that you will have a good experience here.
Great options. Love the boba! Really Really wish they either had compostable plastic, some sort of sustainable container option, or even if they simply promoted recycling the plastic. The place is really wasteful.
Only 4 stars beacuse it was hard to find a bike rack. Otherwise, I feel safe on a bike there- the traffic of the parking lots was suprisingly low, very well thought out, and easy to drive around on a bike.
This is a diverse and well-designed outside mall. It has both national and local vendors in various retail settings. Lots of parking. If you haven't been here please do give it a visit. You'll enjoy it.
A few big name stores, lots of smaller stores. Parking is an issue in the area, drive thru for chick fil a creeps onto 21st and can cause traffic issues. All in All a positive experience.
We're just here to pick up a couple of meals to go from Zupas, we had to park by the theaters and walk up to the restaurant, but our food was ready and waiting for us and delicious.
Always happy with the selection of stores and services at Sugarhouse Commons. Went to the movie had dinner and made a return all at the same shopping plaza in Sugarhouse!
J Crew Factory Chambray and denim here is good and you can get the eats at whole foods
Some great businesses here, but they need a janitorial staff and repairs.
Traffic and parking make it hard to shop here.
Great selection of restaurants!
