I recently adopted a bully mix breed pup and decided to get him checked out and up to date on shots. I did my homework on this place and after bringing my dog here I was not disappointed. When I made the appointment I explained to the call taker that my dog is known to be dog aggressive so that the hospital would be aware before I brought him in. The call taker explained how they handle these situations and that I should call when we arrive to ensure there are no other pets around for pet safety. This is exactly what happened, I arrived and was greeted by Jocelyn who was understanding of my dogs personality and took care of us great. She got all of our information and answered all my questions. Dr. Schoessow came in and again was very understanding and knowledgeable about my dogs situation. She was very professional, explained all the procedures that would be done that day and answered all of my questions. I was very pleased with Dr. Schoessow and her staff.

There really isn't enough great things to say. Their service is impeccable, their staff is knowledgeable, and the way they treat my little doodle is amazing! I am SO happy that we found this vet and the level of care and concern they have makes me so happy! I would recommend them to EVERYONE! I would also recommend Lori! We took our Goldendoodle to her for a cut because most places say they're booked or they stopped taking Doodles (like what is that?!). Anyway, Lori took her time, she worked with our Doodle and instead of just shaving him (like other places have done), she gave him a beautiful puppy cut and did EXACTLY what we wanted. She was sweet, patient, and caring, which is exactly what I expected because that is experience we've had every single time we come here. I am so happy we found Lori and Companion Animal Hospital because I know our little fur baby is ALWAYS in good hands!

We will not be taking our 4 dogs here any longer. We were also going to take our dogs for their dental cleaning but not after today. My dog fell down the stairs and hurt her leg. We called at 3pm and they close at 4pm. They said they did not have appointments available and they could not see her. We explained she was in a lot of pain and could not walk. They said "we close at 4pm and we have no appointments..take her to the ER" how rude. No exception whatsoever. We took her down the street to the ER and she was in and out in about 20 minutes. They gave her a shot for her pain and some anti-inflammatory medication. I have researched other clinics in the area and hopefully will find a clinic with compassionate human beings. Thank you companion..you lost 4 patients. Hope you were able to close right a 4pm!!

Just took my dog Achilles here for the first time. The vet and tech were both very friendly and great with him. He's big and a little nervous around strangers; they were both extremely accommodating with his need for slow introductions and tried until he gained their trust. They told me what he was due for and gave me full descriptions of each vaccine and what each one helps prevent. Printed out an estimate to make sure I was aware of how much it would be before dosing him, which my last vet never did. He got a few shots and some blood drawn, they handled him very well and were done within a few minutes. Nice and clean facility. Achilles loved the treats they bribed him with, and was warmed up to the place before we walked out of the door. I would recommend this vet.

Lori, the groomer, will not take the time to commit to her services. She rushes preferring to simply cut the hair as short as possible rather than working to create the best cut for the breed. Also, based on other vets I’ve visited, companion will attempt to up-charge you creating unnecessary fear for the health of your pet. After getting two separate opinions from a vet in Riverside and a groomer, I shared my concerns with the office manager. He attempted to gaslight me not taking any ownership for his staff’s behavior. I sincerely hope others have a good experience there, but unfortunately I did not. And as it’s more difficult to get a second opinion with your animal, you may never know that CAH is simply taking you to the bank :/.

Negligence across the board with this Vet. Over 3 months ago they did blood works on my dog. They found he had pancreatitis and a fatty liver. This was back in August, I go in today to pick up medications and find out the news. They withheld this information from me and "left a note" for us to be called. This is negligence to a tee. My dog has been declining for 3 months while these money hungry vets charge 2-3 times the amount of regular vets in the area. Do not waste your time, do not come here, you will be ignored, you will be on the phone waiting. Nothing gets done A-Z in an acceptable amount of time. If my dog passes because of this, consider them closed, I will shut them down.

So I scheduled a grooming appointment a week ago and filled out all the consent forms and pre appointment forms for my dog Rain. Today (12/7@8:40am) I get a call that she doesn’t have her dog flu shot so can’t be seen unless she gets the shot “can I come in today”??? Her appointment is for tomorrow(12/8@8:30am). Being that I was there last week to get her up to date on her vaccines I thought I’d be fine. Why didn’t someone call, email, text me when my appointment was confirmed (last week)to provide this information??? I could’ve schedule it in then. But now with less than 24hrs notice you want me to jump thru hoops!!! So now I’ll be going elsewhere to get this service done.

We just got a new dog and took her for an initial check-up and then to be spayed with Dr. Cheryl. After we lost our dog in December, which was another amazing experience with the whole staff at Companion Animal Hospital Oak Park there was no question about where to take our new family member. Dr. Cheryl and her whole staff are all caring, welcoming and very knowledgeable. Our initial visit and also taking our dog in to be spayed went smoothly. They always take the time to make sure you understand everything they are doing and recommending, and make sure you and your pet are comfortable. We are very happy with our choice for veterinary care, and highly recommend.

I love Companion Animals Hospital of oak park! I’m a new puppy mom and started taking my puppy here and I have received nothing but the best! Everyone is very friendly and helpful! The vet techs and doctors are very invested in making sure you are always informed of everything going on and always ask if I have any questions or need anything. They never make you feel like you have a dumb question and never make the visit feel rushed. They all treat my puppy as their own and Benny loves his visits! I always come out of here learning more than before. They help make me a confidant dog mom. Looking forward to grooming here as well.

I volunteer for an animal rescue and Companion was one of our "go to" places. The rescue never has problems when speaking to staff about visits, approvals, or care for our fosters. I loved the care they gave my fosters so much that I switched my personal dog's vet to Companion Animal Hospital. The staff at Companion are kind, courteous, and helpful. The hours are very accommodating and I love being able to make an appointment through their website at any given time. I am very happy and highly recommend Companion Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a caring and compassionate facility with top-notch staff.

Companion is a great place with great professional vets that know how to handle your pet! I came in with my cat Tiki and they were very sweet when caring for him. They knew what they were doing and my crazy cat who meows at everything and can never sit still was surprisingly very calm in their care. He never meowed once nor showed any sign of discomfort! They told me a breakdown of all the prices and shots that my can needs or should get and explained the reasons for them and gave me the option to get the shots or not. Me and Tiki really enjoyed our first vet experience and would recommend Companion!

I can’t rave enough about Dr. Cheryl and her staff at this vet location. Our shih-tzu McGee was a patient of theirs for awhile. He was frequently groomed there and they took such great care of him. We sadly had to put our dog down during the pandemic and the staff were so compassionate and shared in our grief. It felt like I was amongst family when McGee took his last breath. A week afterwards, the entire staff signed a card and personalized the messages with memories of McGee. I was blown away by their compassion and sincerity. I highly recommend this clinic for any of your pet care needs.

A few months ago my girlfriend and I adopted our kitty Gracy. Gracy has been to Companion multiple times for check-ups, shots, and her spay and they have all been pleasant experiences. We love Dr Cheryl and Maggie. They always answer all of our questions and Gracy loves them aswell! You can tell Dr Cheryl really cares for her patients and wants to make sure they are getting the best treatment. The office is also very clean and modern compared to past vet offices I’ve been to. Last week we adopted another kitty named Grayson and can’t wait to take him to meet everyone at Companion!

As a first time cat owner, the staff and doctors were attentive and compassionate. During this pandemic, the procedures to ensure safety were put well into place. We were required to call when we were in the parking lot, then a masked staff member came out to retrieve our cats and take them inside to establish routine care and receive vaccinations. When their physical exams were done, the doctor gave me a call with an update, explaining all the required health checks and what was done. Very attentive, friendly staff. I am happy to have found such caring, professional vets!

The receptionists and the vets worked hard to help my husband and I treat our sick, older dog. Providing fast appointments and check ups to ensure our dog was receiving the best care. Unfortunately, my girl was too sick and needed to be humanely put down, and the vets at companion did their best to ensure we were comfortable and ready for the decision. They provided the best care for my dog during her final hours and let us give her treats up until the end. I would recommend this location to any and every pet owner as they truly care and love all their animals.

All three of my pets have health issues and Dr. Cheryl (as well as the other vets, techs, and office staff) are always friendly and responsive when I have a million questions. They always review all possible costs BEFORE doing anything so I can make the decision that is best for my financial situation. My pup and one of my cats are pretty wild and the doctors and techs have been really great with them. I don’t know anyone in this area, but if I did or if anyone asked, I’d definitely recommend Companion Animal Hospital of Oak Park (and especially Dr. Cheryl!).

I was formerly a Scrubbers customer so I became a Companion customer when Scrubbers left Oak Park. The old location on Lake Street was more convenient for me but nonetheless I followed them to North Ave. They groomed my miniature schnauzer, Gil, and did a nice job. When my beloved Gil passed away, after a year I adopted a senior dog (15 y/o) and he's visited Lori at Companion twice now. We think Lori is great--very kind and a good groomer. The office staff is friendly and efficient and they get us scheduled on short notice. There is plenty of parking, too.

very grateful we’ve found this place. The staff at this location is kind and helpful, and Dr. Kung has been a blessing to our Bella (and to us too!) She has been amazing with our fur baby on multiple occasions. Our dog suffers from severe separation anxiety, and they created a treatment plan to help her receive the care she needed while ensuring she was as comfortable as possible. Bella is doing great after her appointment today, and i’d recommend her to anyone seeking care for their pets. Thank you again to everyone who has helped care for her! :)

Everyone I had contact with was professional but friendly and approachable. Dr. Cheryl spent a lot of time talking with me after my cat's exam, thoroughly explaining everything then answering every one of my questions and goofy comments. She was very informative and reassuring. I felt like we were totally on the same wavelength. She and staff expressed their affection for and amusement with my cat. I'd recommend this clinic in a heart beat ... don't know how long wait times are for appointments due to COVID, a big problem with other places.

We took Rex to Companion for a grooming appointment because our normal location was getting a little to crowded. Rex was very nervous when we dropped him off, but when we picked him up , he seemed very calm. The groomers did a great job. Our second visit was to see the Vet. She was great! Rex can be a tough customer, but she worked with him. She was very patient with him. The people there are friendly. It is clean on the inside and outside area. Plenty of parking! Overall we've had great experiences here and will continue to come back.

This clinic has a super awesome team of caring and compassionate staff. Their demeanor towards me was friendly, patient, and understanding, while taking great care of my elderly cat. The doctor and the nurse was professional and took the time to answer all of my questions, and was willing to work with me on a plan of action for the best care of my cat. They also kept me posted on results from the lab. Also they send me friendly reminders of next appointments. I couldn't asked for a better veterinarian clinic. I highly recommend it.

Our normal vet was booked up solid when our 1 year old puppy, Peter, started coughing. It was a Friday afternoon so I didn't want to wait and end up at the emergency vet over the weekend. Sure enough - kennel cough! All the staff were very sweet with him and Dr. Schoessow was really great with explaining our options and how to get him feeling better. Also COVID-19 protocols were in place so everyone was masked and they came to get our baby from the car in PPE, did payment over the phone, etc. Pic of our happy boy.

It’s Sunday Morning and trying to find a Vet that’s open is almost unheard of. I called in and explained how my puppy might have an eye infection. They took me in an hour later and did a full examination, they took care of my puppy we got eye medication and a full body workup. I really liked how Dr. Sheryl explained everything and was concerned about my puppies well-being. I am thankful there are vets open in Sunday’s. I highly recommend this Animal Clinic. All the staff was attentive and helpful!

No one expects the worst situation to occur to their fur baby but making sure you have somewhere to go to before it happens is crucial to an adequate response. Don’t waste time googling where to take your pet when they need immediate attention; a responsible owner is proactive not reactive. I was very glad to realize that when the time came the service was exceptional and well presented to me. My options laid out in a way that I felt that I could trust these people and so far I have not been disappointed.

Well since covid sucks and I couldn’t go in with my poor shaking nervous baby I knew she was in good hands. The doc called me while I was waiting and took time to explain everything and address my concerns as a first time dog mom. That is so much appreciated since most human docs rush you and act like your questions are a waste of their time. The services all together were a bit pricey since I got some prescriptions but I want my baby to be nice and healthy! Will definitely keep coming back.

We took our 15 month old German Shepherd to Companion Animal Hospital Oak Park to be spayed. All the staff were tremendously helpful in explaining the process to us! We had only had our dog for 3 weeks at the time we took her in to get spayed and the staff at Companion Animal Hospital did such a good job taking care of her, warming up to her and not making her feel anxious or nervous. We will make them our go to vet for our Zola as we know she will be in the best hands while she is there!

I knew since I got my puppy in the beginning of the year I wanted to get her the best care I could. Somewhere I can keep taking her so she can be stable, where the vet can keep her records since the beginning. I googled many places and this one definitely caught my eye. The many good reviews it already has said a lot & they are definitely helpful, tell you everything and keep you in the loop especially with the pandemic. They even have their own app, it’s amazing. Definitely recommend.

Just took my new cat in for her first vet visit here since we were given a coupon by the shelter we got her from. It was a wonderful experience and I'm so happy to have found this place. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The vet tech and vet made sure to take their time with us and answer any questions with very helpful and detailed answers. I didn't feel at all rushed like I sometimes feel at other vets. I'll definitely be taking my other two kitties here too from now on!

Incredibly trustworthy and caring professionals — and you can tell they genuinely love animals. Our fur baby (dog), Baxter is a regular patient here; but this morning, we had to take him suddenly in for GI upset. The team worked to squeeze him in for a drop off assessment. Even though I had to rush to work, the vet called and gave me a thorough assessment by phone so I felt like I didn’t miss anything! Whether for routine or urgent care, this team always give excellent service.

Great experience!! I recently adopted a kitten from the animal shelter, and he needed his 2nd booster. I was referred to them. From the appointment all the way to the visit, the experience was amazing. I was nervous and so was my kitty because hey, I’m kinda new to this.lol. But the staff, especially the veterinary assistant(who I regret not getting her name) was the nicest and helpful person ever! The doctor was very informative and nice as well. 5 out of 5 stars!

I do not have to be a client here to agree with the previous reviews and from the way I was treated I will never be a client. I walked in and was not greated, while the receptionist greeted every White clientele. She was rude and short answered with me. She was nasty and disrespectful and did everything to turn away my patronage. You dont see the people as clients, because you discriminate and turn away Black customers with your nasty front desk,

Staff was very friendly and accommodating, I was late and they were able to see me. The facility was very clean, did not smell of urine, feces or bleach. Easy to get to location. Dr. Kung was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions, taking her time to examine my 87# Mastiff/Mix that I acquired from a rescue days before. Gracie was very comfortable and at ease. I highly recommend Companion Animal Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois.

We are delighted to work with all of the staff at Companion Oak Park. They are caring, respectful and listen to our concerns. When our dog was sick, they really helped get to the root of the problem and made reasonable recommendations that we could implement at home. Their follow up has been awesome too. Plus, Sunday appointments and online appointment scheduling! We are still very satisfied with their level of care and customer service.

The doctors and staff were a great help in my dog, Coco's final years. When the time came, they were very sympathetic and gave us all the time we needed. They even took the burden of figuring out the cremation off my shoulders. I was happy to hear they were able to provide the same great service for my grandparents and their dog. It is a great peace of mind to know they will be there for my cats' future checkups and health needs.

The staff at CAH-OP are some of the most patient and caring staff I’ve encountered. My cat needed a minor surgery while I was out of town, and I’ve received photo updates during her stay with them, as well as photos of the surgical procedure that was done. They truly care about making you and your pet comfortable. They answered all of my questions (and there were many!) honestly and kindly, and I can not recommend them enough ☺️

Do NOT bring your pets here. They do not try to accommodate people when serious situations arise, even for a puppy. They hang up on customers and put people on hold for extremely long periods. Instead of being helpful, they just say go to the ER vet. This is not the kind of care I would want for any of my pets and therefore will no longer be using this hospital. Many other options nearby that are far more accommodating and kind.

Made an appointment for my cat’s nails to be trimmed. When I arrived they told me the price had just gone up to $30. That’s over 2x what I paid last time. Additionally, it would have been nice for them to let me know the price increase when I called to book the appointment, or when I called to reschedule the appointment or when I confirmed the appointment. Felt like a bait and switch. Otherwise, the team is nice.

I’ve been taking my dog there for A little more than 5 years and pray as long as he and I live there’s no need to change again. Dr. Cheryl is WONDERFUL and very knowledgeable & compassionate with my dog. She has help me figure ways of calming him because he’s not use to other animals, especially when it’s time for grooming. The staff is wonderful there I wouldn’t trade them for anything. Keep up the good work!

Coral my Lab and Venus both had appointments and did great. My brother dropped them off and not long after they called to let me know about both. Coral has an ear infection and Venus has a UTI. Both were caught early. I can smell the ear and urine. Blind but I have great nose. The Vet treated both with medication and I don't have to do anything. Coral will go back in 2 weeks for follow up. Thank you so much.

We took both our babies (2 dogs) to Companion recently and I must say, I am absolutely amazed at their services! The staff is super friendly and helpful. Both saw the vet for updated shots and then received grooming afterwards. They treated our babies with the love and care that we give them ourselves. I'm a customer for life now and I'm happy to be a part of the Companion Animal Hospital family. ☺

This is the first time I took my cat to Companion Animal Hospital for dental cleaning. Dr. Chatterjee did a great job on my cat's teeth. He called and give me a update about my cat medical condition, they even sent a picture of my cat after the the procedure done. All the staffs there were very nice and professional. I would definitely recommend this hospital for people who's pets need the best care.

We recently had to euthanize our beloved family dog, Macy. She'd been with us for 14 years and we loved her greatly. Companion was phenomenal in assisting us with her final moments. They were compassionate, thoughtful and extremely sensitive. I can't say it enough how impressed I was with the level of service and care. Their compassion made a difficult moment just a tad bit easier to deal with.

Parking lot vet visits will never be ideal, but the vet and staff who work at this office are great communicators who ensure you leave with all questions answered. They are transparent about pricing, calling for approval of a line-by-line estimate at the start of each visit. They also use tech well -- email reminders and web forms for scheduling and completion of pre-visit questionnaires.

Lovely people and fantastic for leash reactive dogs. If you let them know ahead of time they’ll make sure to walk your dog in when other dogs are not present and go straight to the exam room. And if your dog is still freaked out they’ll have one of the techs stay with them in the room. Couldn’t be a happier pet owner from this experience. They have multiple locations throughout the city.

Companion Animal Hospital is a great vet! They are so amazing with our Voltaire! He is always so excited to visit them. They are extremely responsive and always follow up! I would highly recommend them! They take great care and explain everything before anything happens! The fact that Voltaire always leaves with his tail wagging is a great sign that he was well taken care of!

My pup was coming in for an initial appointment with Companion Oak Park. The doctor and all the staff were really great. They were attentive to my concerns and questions and were happy to answer everything. I never felt like they did not have time for me or my dog. They were very patient and caring with my dog as well. I also found the costs reasonable. Everything was great!

Were very professional and treated my dog very well. Were very aware of her shyness issues and her past( was a street dog in India and was abused). Had dealt with you before with another dog that sadly had to be put down. Each time your staff has been professional, compassionate and understanding. Ella liked ( as much as any dog likes) her visit and that matters to me

Dr. Kung was very attentive and explained things thoroughly. She took her time with my cat and answered all my questions. Everyone was pleasant (and complimented my cat's good behavior which I loved). I feel this appt was worth every penny and I was not overcharged. Another vet quoted me much higher prices and only spent a fraction of the time (5 min) doing the exam.

We were patients for a few years before moving to Kansas City and we miss them so much! I have yet to find a vet as caring, thorough, kind and wonderful as Dr. Cheryl. She was amazing with our kitty cat Alley and always made the experience less scary for her. I know Alley misses Dr. Cheryl now every time we go to our new vet! ♥️ best vet we ever had!

They take the time to answer your questions or concerns, and they are very knowledgeable. After our vet who made house calls retired, we brought our cat here. They were very professional and efficient. The doctor spent at least 15 minutes going over all the details of the results of the exam. Although I had to wait in the car because of Covid, she made sure I knew everything she did and what the results were. We just found our new vet!

I used Companion Animal Hospital since I got my puppy mostly for prevention. Ones in 2 years I needed something else and immediately run into the problem. My dog is insured and insurance requested health records. In 2 weeks nobody bothered to send it and thanks for OPCAH I will not have my claim paid. For those who have pet insurance - be aware.

I love taking my puppy Indie there! The doctors and technicians are so nice and are very helpful with any questions I have. They tell you the breakdown of each vaccine, procedure or medication cost so you know what you are paying for. I'm new to the area and was nervous finding a new vet but I had the best experience bringing in my cat. It was an emergency and they squeezed him in and provided updates on how he was doing. Dr. Kung was very informative and took her time explaining what could be going on. Will definitely be taking all of my cats here now.

My dog, Coral, loves going to the Vet. She runs in and gets hugs and gives kisses. They take great care of her. She would stay there all day if I didn't come to pick her up right away. The tech called me and let me know everything went well and Coral was laying down on the floor cooling off. Coral is a Labrador Retriever.

We love Companion! Dr. Cheryl and Maggie are always so thorough walking me through all of the details every time. We’ve been going for the last 3 years. I have been searching for animal hospitals for the past few days and I came across this location. I’ve seen the good amount of reviews and decided to make an appointment for my fur baby’s vaccines. They’re so helpful! And super sweet and knowledgeable. My dog was super nervous before entering and came out happy!

The staff was respectful of our time; and very nice to my pup! This was my first visit with a brand new puppy... the doctor explained what the result of her examination was very clearly; answered my questions and let me know next steps. Really appreciated the way the staff and doctor took care of both of us!

Our dog injured his foot and Dr Kung was able to see him pretty quickly. Dr Kung and her vet tech were very kind and thorough. They explained to me the procedure step by step. This was our first time here but we will definitely be back for any future care our dog might need. Thank you Dr Kung.

I still take my girls here. My Hermynie is 5 yrs and Ms. Willow almost 1 1/2 yrs. So love the staff and the vets are the best. They are really caring and concerned and I would highly recommend for your furry babies. Their knowledge and caring alone makes it so well worth coming to this site.

I am a new puppy parent. Dr Sheryl answered all of my questions. She took her time and was very kind. Majority of the staff are wonderful. There was 1 young lady there that I would give no stars to. Lucky for her the rest of the staff make up for what she lacks. Great place for your pets.

I have been visiting Companion Animal C are for several years. My dog Teddy is always treated well, cared for well and seems to enjoy the staff. The setting is always clean and the staff are kind and helpful and very professional. I definitely recommend Companion for grooming services.

We just adopted our dog 9 days ago and our groomer noticed she had a double ear infection so we scheduled an urgent appointment and had our pup checked out from head to toe and all the communication was wonderful! We are so happy with the service we experienced with Companion Oak Park.

I first took my dog here when he needed to be quarantined for several days and none of the other animal hospitals I contacted was able to take an animal who was not already a patient. I have been taking my dog here ever since and I have always been happy with the care provided.

This was my first time visiting and I was so pleased with the service my dog received. The nurses and doctor were so kind, caring and helpful. The doctor was very patient with my dog who can be slightly aggressive with strangers. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Lori, is the best groomer. She really takes care of my fur babies. And very attentive. Once, during a grooming she noticed something wrong with one of my pets ears. She immediately informed the doctor. He was able to be seen the same day and received the medication needed.
