I am going to say up front that after reading other reviews i tend to agree that the canned response from the owner IS quite annoying. No response at all would be better than a canned response that shows the review hasn't actually been read. That said, i am not really leaving the review for the owner but for people who might be considering eating here. (And a note to the one who said the response is from a franchisee, you are wrong this location is owned by corporate but the other 2 in SD ate franchises.) On to the review... We are from Houston and were looking at a food near me search for 45 min trying to decide where to eat and nothing got our interest. We found this place by a happy accident when we pulled into the parking lot. I looked at their reviews and menu and figured they would be similar to Panera. Abby, at the counter was very patient with us and answered all our questions. Any similarities i thought they had went out the window. At Panera the sandwiches are made the way the menu says and that is that. HERE they were happy to leave off things i didn't want. From looking at the menu online i knew i thought the spinach salad with strawberries and mandarin oranges looked good. I commented that i wished it had some lettuce in the mix...and she said they would add some for me! My husband and i shared the duo deal with salad and potato soup that were both delicious. And we shared a club sandwich. While we were dining i actually heard the manager, Sabad, give praise to an employee for doing a good job. I have heard managers chastise employees for something done wrong many times...but never hear them give positive reinforcement and i really liked that. We did go at a time when it was slow, it filled up quite a bit as we ate. I will definitely eat here again...i am eyeballing the salad with fried chicken, strawberries and blueberries for my next meal! I definitely recommend eating here if you just want some tasty food that is filling. I would say don't expect it to be much more than about $12 a person with a drink. Ps their Monster cookies are sinfully delicious!

One of my favorite breakfast places is the Corner Bakery at the Southeast corner of Mission Center Road and Camino De La Reina. Heather and Sabad are the managers and truly understand customer service. I wish I could name all of their staff whom are always pleasant and also do their best to satisfy. The restaurant is always clean and practices all COVID-19 mandates. I encourage y’all to join the Corner Bakery Rewards. They send me several promotions a week such as freebies and significant discounts. I love watching my register totals drop from $28 to $10 or less for example. I tease the staff that they’re going to be paying me to eat there and we’re going to be featured on “Extreme Couponing” one of these days Currently enjoying their food outdoors in their large patio area, but their ToGo packaging is top notch and many of their menu items warmup great in the microwave and toaster oven. One of my favorites is their Anaheim Panini and when they send me a promo I buy several for friends and family and they LOVE IT! My usual is their pancakes, bacon (extra crispy) and eggs (soft scramble) If you go to this Corner Baklery, say “Hi” to Heather or Sabado and let them know you read this review

While eating our breakfast and employee walked by our table and shook a bottle of ketchup he had just removed from a nearby table he was clearing (to see how much was left). Wouldn’t be a big deal if the lid hadn’t been off! Ketchup went everywhere! All over the floor, my leg, sock and shoe. It was under the tongue of the shoe and in the laces and eyeholes. I kidded with the employee trying to understand what he was doing but immediately asked for a manager. He came over to assist and I told him I understand but they’ll need to replace my shoes. He told me to bring him a receipt for reimbursement. A few minutes later he told me I’d need to bring the receipt to the General manager on Monday. Although the shift manager attempted to clean them the shoes smelled like ketchup and I tossed them and bought new shoes across the street. Well, I don’t live in San Diego and was just visiting so I emailed information within a few days of returning home and I’m now fighting with corporate office. They are telling me I have to prove there was damage. I don’t own the shoes any longer and wasn’t gonna travel with ruined smelly shoes!

First time was today but left a weird feeling from service. Yummy flat bread sandwich and average house coffee. Great atmosphere and lots of seating. Part of my group had great service from one waiter who brought extra syrups and jams and coffee creamers. I’m giving it just 4 stars because after the waiter who brought the food for my end of the table asked “Is there anything I can get you?” I said , “Oh some sugar would be great, I didn’t realize I needed more.” And he literally tells me i can go get it from inside...Why did he even ask? Lol. I knew where it was, but my group was outside and around the back, and I literally walked back with him like, okay, I get it you clearly would’ve been troubled by running it out even though it’s your job. I’ve served before and it’s not that big of a deal to follow through when you literally ask to bring the customer anything. I laughed at it but then realized my manager would’ve given me feedback about that if I had told a customer to get something themselves. ‍♀️

Hands down the FILTHIEST place I’ve EVER been too! Corner Bakery is my go to place for an amazing salad. This place was not durning any kind of rush, so let’s not blame it on that. Floors are sticky n gross! Yes, my shoes stuck to them. Straw rappers, toothpicks, napkins on the floor. Everything had a thick coat of dust on it. The waiting are that has a bench, that had empty cups and napkins just laying on it. When I called the manager over she (Heather) didn’t seem to even care. When I told her she should be embarrassed to call this her store, she got mad and walked away! I was not rude or even mad, just more disgusted with this place. Very unprofessional way to handle an issue, HEATHER! I have a good idea, stop hiding out in the back room and take some action to keep your place in order! No wonder it’s almost empty in here! Smarten you Heather! This is no way to run a business!

Shout out to the manager Heather! We rolled into town and we're hungry and both my friend and I have had great experiences with The Corner Bakery in Arizona where we live. There was a miscommunication with what I ordered and I did not receive what I had wanted. I expressed my confusion and disappointment. One staff said that wasn't an option and the other staff seemed confused. Rather than make a fuss, I just accepted my order. Within in minutes of sitting at my table, Heather came over to apologize for the mix up and offered to make me the salad I was pineing for. Thank you SO much for your customer service ! And yes, the food is ALWAYS good!

Love this place! Amazing prices! Probably one of the cheapest good quality places in San Diego. (Tip: if you join their email list they send you insane coupons). Last time I went there, there was 3 of us. We got 3 combos, 2 drinks and 1 dessert for under 30 bucks, I think it was closer to $25 but I'm not positive. Everything I've had there, I've liked. I really like that you can mix and match. I personally go for a sandwich/salad combo or 2 half sandwiches. My mom learns toward their pastas or sandwich/ soup combos. So I've tried a little of everything on their menu. Also most meals come with a side: bread, carrot sticks or kettle chips. Pick the chips! They are their own brand & are wonderful. Also their desserts are great. I personally love their lemon hand pies.

Good desserts. Covid-19 Update: Got the Prime Rib Panini and Harvest salad entree to go. The Harvest salad entree was tasty with a nice mix of fresh ingredients. It was a bit pricey for $10.29, but still good. The Prime Rib Panini was not good. It surely did not look at all like the menu picture (attached). The Prime rib slices were chewy and the other ingredients were nearly non-existent. Seriously, one tiny strip of grilled pepper and a few nickel sized pieces of mushrooms. You can see how sparce the ingredients were in the attached picture. Veggies are cheap, so I don't understand why they would skimp on them in a $10.79 sandwich. Even during Covid-19, there are better restaurant options providing a better value.

Disappointed and annoyed. The three stars is for great staff. The power is out in UH, Normal Heights, and North Park, so I decided to pickup breakfast from Corner Bakery by the Target. I’ve been here before for tea and croissants, and the staff is always great. Today I ordered pancakes and eggs. When I got home, two of the pancakes were burnt, one was over cooked, and one was cooked properly and the eggs were brown and overcooked. Scrambled eggs should not be brown. What a waste of money. I won’t be having breakfast from this location again and now I’m suspicious of what the other food is like.

Not having a good few days I decided to treat myself to a nice lunch. Decided on corner bakery. Placed my order and the terminal went offline. The cashier said my payment went through fine, have me the buzzing coaster and my cup. Had I not looked up from watching tiktoks I still would have been waiting for my food. 25 minutes passed and now I have to leave to go back to work. Heather the manager and her staff went more than out of their way to make sure that I didn't leave any more angry than I was! Even went so far as to chase me down to give me the food, even though I was compensated. Above and beyond, that's how you do customer service!!

After a series a frequent closures, it's difficult to get excited about this location. Several times we showed up to find signs of daily, even weekend closures. Occasionally there is no coffee, frequently the place has been understaffed and had to close early (3-4pm). . The managers and long-term kitchen staff often appear exhausted trying to carry the full load without enough support. The food is always delicious. Hopefully we can return again with confidence that the business is open.

The Corner Bakery is a great place to stop for a quick bite to eat. Good food and fast service are always the standard. Not huge portions, but I LIKE that. I get tired of having to take home leftovers that eventually go bad anyway! The sandwiches are good with a twist of different and are my favorite on the menu. I only gave 4 starts instead of 5 because I wish the menu was a little more artisan - like The Corner Bakery name suggests. The decor is a bit dated but comfortable. I will still go there though!

You know when you are simply busy running lots of errands but feels the need for a quick stop but somewhere casual and with a menu that has lots of favorites. All I wanted was a Caesar salad with shrimps and The amazing croutons from Corner Bakery Cafe. That btw I wish they would let us buy to take home so good they are. Well and ok I assume, I am a sweet tooth and couldn’t resist to one of their marble cake. Also Mrs Julie L is a precious soul. So welcome and sweet. She was patient explaining the options. How rare is nowadays to go somewhere and people Just be people and make eye contact, be gentle and communicate.

Ordered the pick two, potato soup and cesar salad with chicken. You also get to pick a side, I chose carrots. I also ordered a vanilla sweet cold brew coffee but it wasn’t stirred fully and the syrup seemed to have settled at the bottom of the cup. Either way when mixing the coffee flavor wasn’t too great. I would definitely try it again another time dinning in because delivery orders always seem to be a mess everywhere and drinks obviously get watered down. The soup was pretty good and surprisingly still warm which hit the spot!

I went to mission valley location corner bakery A few days ago. I placed my order with Daniel and I would just like to say she really is a great employee she really made me feel good about ordering and eating there. Would just like to let corner bakery’s higher ups know she is the reason I will come back to your location and eat again. She should be looked at to become a manager for your establishment. Pretty underwhelmed. Couple of items on the menu listed as Out of Stock so I planned around that. Then I get told that what I wanted (which was not shown as Out of Stock) was actually Out of Stock. Oh. Good thing I had a back up plan. That plan had a small and a large option, but I was not asked which I wanted. It apparently also came with garlic bread that was not listed. They delivered me the large option which was more food than I wanted. Tables were left un-bussed, apparently so that they knew which ones to sanitize, but it made the place look dirty and short-staffed. Doubt that we'll be back.

They're oatmeal is the best, I was disappointed when I got there to find out that they did not have any chilled oatmeal, they ran out, they did not make enough, they need to anticipate this on a holiday weekend when a lot of people go out for breakfast. we did order the regular oats and berries and was disappointed in that it wasn't even hot it was lukewarm and didn't even taste that great, not like the chilled oatmeal which is a lot better tasting. I did order the strawberry lemon pancakes which is a new item and those were very very good

I placed an order online and came to the store to pick it up at the time it should have been ready and it wasn’t. Also, three employees completely ignored me until I said something then I was told to hold on. This is unacceptable customer service and employees need to be retrained on how to greet and value their customers. The staff is unfriendly which isn’t good for business. The bathroom also wasn’t clean which makes me think about the cleanliness of the kitchen. I’m not sure if I will be returning, very disappointed with my experience today.

Always have a good experience here. Shout out to GM Sabad Diaz. Had a little bit of a communication issue this AM with my to-go order and he was very understanding and helpful in correcting. That kind of customer service is severely lacking in today's world, so thanks Sabad, and thanks Corner Bakery.

I've been to three different corner bakery locations and they never disappoint. The food is always delicious. My favorite has to be the sweet crisp salad. Rarely is the customer service not amazing, they always employ polite people. They have a variety of food, salads, sandwiches, paninis, soups, and even dessert items. Most of the choices I really love. If you dont like something, choose something else, it's most likely personal preference and not the quality of food which is always great. I love this chain and this specific location.

Our experience was not up to what we expected. The service was not welcoming and inside it smells so bad. We had to eat outside, which was nice because we had light rain. The food was not good for 50 dollars. I got the avocado sandwich and it did not impress at all. My child’s Mac and cheese was cold. Hubby got the meatball panini, he said it was ok. Will never spend money there again. Thanks bye!

Ordered on line. Arrived 12 mins later and called as directed for curbside delivery. They said they would be out right away. After almost 15 minutes called again and the employee sounded confused and kept asking me what I ordered and my name. Then it was like she wanted to take my order. I told her I ordered 25 minutes ago. She said she would get the manager and put me on hold for a few minutes and then came back and said they would be right out. I finally got my food, which was a breakfast sandwich and a cup of fruit!

I have found myself coming here once a week for the past 5 weeks in a row. Most of the time I just order drip coffee. 2 out of 5 times, they have not charged me for coffee. The staff is super nice and helpful. Since I don't eat eggs or dairy, they are super helpful with customizing my orders. They will substitute ingredients at no extra charge. The food is delicious. The environment is comfortable and plenty of outdoor seating for the beautiful San Diego days. I definitely recommend this place.

I’ll place an order through Uber eats at 10:30 in the morning for about six dozen cookies to be delivered by 130 Jack the manager was very rude and disrespectful to me and another Uber eats driver when I told him I said I ordered this in advance, and he made it my fault saying that they didn’t have enough cookies when I place the order so early and then he rudely hung up on me. I would not go to this place again their food is good but customer service sucks.

Sad pregnant mama. Had a taste for a chicken pomadori and some chicken noodle soup. Got there today(Sunday) at 6:34pm and they were closed. The hours on the door say 7:30 pm. So does the website and the voice mail because I checked. I understand that sometimes because of shortages they may have to close early at times. I think I'm moor upset because I'm pregnant and couldn't satisfy my craving but a sign on the door would have been helpful.

Had never eaten here before and decided to give it a try. Excellent food! I was told it was like Panera's but this is WAY better. I had a grilled cheese and chips and my daughter had the mac n cheese and both were excellent. I have since been back for a free coffee(daily through the end of the year!) and tried the white chocolate mint cold brew and it was amazing. Their customer service cannot be beat either. This is my new go to place.

The mangers treat there employees like slaves and don’t know how to talk to them constantly embarrassing them for the slightest of mistakes they could see u struggling and wouldn’t help not one bit. Don’t think u will just do the job u signed up for u will do dam near everything . just case most workers there are fresh out of high school or might be there first job wouldn’t recommend working here to my worst enemy.

Super great location for breakfast or brunch before the Target run. I went there this morning and experienced incredible service from Danielle. She was friendly, went out of her way to accommodate my two children and very professional. This young lady will have me returning because it is hard to find people that care like her.

Stumbled across this place with my lady this morning while running errands in Mission Valley. She ordered a Anaheim Panini and a chai latte. I ordered a bacon Panini and a truffle mocha oh, we also split a chocolate muffin. Besides the portion size of the paninis and the eggs not being seasoned everything else was 5 Stars across the board. Excellent customer service great ambiance.

This is an excellent choice if you want to take a break from cooking. Our home Corner Bakery is in Fresno and we took relatives to this one in Mission Valley. We were not disappointed. Delicious sandwiches, salads, soups and baked goods. The steak and cheese sandwich and the Asian Wonton salad are our favorites. And the staff that we've interacted with make a good place better.

The pasta was very watery the day I went and 3 of us had the pesto pasta. Tables were dirty everywhere so I had to wash one for all of us. Hopefully it was just that one day it was like this and not everyday. Service was excellent!

So very mediocre. The girl that rang me up was kind of rude, and my sandwich looked nothing like the menu photo - especially the sad, thin, cheap store bought bread. As I was leaving, I struggled to put my trash into an overflowing bin while two managers sat around mere steps away from the nasty trash. All around meh, Panera does a much much better job.

I got the pick two. My tomato basil soup was okay. A bit sweet instead of savory. The chicken palmadori panini was a total disappointment. One pathetic piece of spinach. Two slivers of chicken. Barely a panini. Just pitiful. I drove all the way from ocean beach. I stopped in because it was a promotional price. Won't make that mistake again.

Friendly staff and great food. The one time my to go order was messed up, I called and they offered our next order to be on them. They have tasty salads and sandwiches. We haven't tried the pasta yet, but it looks good. Sides are chips, bread, pickles, carrots. It can get quite crowded at lunch, so be prepared to wait for a table.

Super delicious food. For people that are real health concious there is a menu for you. For those of you like to rest there also a menu for you. Whatever your palette has a taste for, don't worry you are also covered on the menu. To sum it up, Corner Bakery serves delicious healthy food, a great place to have a quick bite.

The breakfast wrap I ordered was served partially warm, partially cold. It was less than ideal. And the hot chocolate was also served barely luke-warm. I won't go again. Very disappointed.

Really liked chicken orzo soup, wish they had it all the time at all branches of Corner Bakery Cafe. Love the cinnamon bundt cake, but today's was a little bit dry. My friends were very happy with their salad and sandwich. Overall, it's a very reasonable restaurant but I wish someone brought the food to the table.

The server was rude in regards to me not wearing a mask. It’s time to be a little bit more rational about “masked walking to the table and removing it there to eat” charade. The food was average, nothing special. Won’t support again.

I always enjoy the food from here. Last time we came, we also had a nice experience with the staff. When I used to live in this area I would come here to eat. My breakfast was good but definitely not a wow. Scrambled eggs, bacon and toast with a side of fruit. If you're like me and like real iced tea (brewed) they have it here in regular and flavored. I'll have to try their lunch meals sometime.

Delicious, cute cafe. Both my husband and I ordered 1/2 sandwiches, one with tomato basil soup and his with pasta carbonara. Everything was delicious and portions were good. Kettle chips were tasty as well. The sweet cream cold brew was awesome, no bitterness at all. I would recommend this place!

Excellent food! I had the anaheim scramble. Delicious scrambled eggs with bacon and tomatoes and avocado. It was to die for! And great tasting multi grain toast. Im giving them 4 stars because they forgot my oj. I was dying of thirst throughout the whole meal. Other than that, no complaints.

The food here is good, as expected. I visited on a cold, rainy day and it was warm and cozy inside. It is a good place for coffee and pastries while doing some work on the computer, though it can get quite noisy at lunchtime. And there aren't any outlets for device charging.

Chain mini-mall bakery/cafe. Decent food, at reasonable prices. Bagel was good, but limited assortment. I thought the bread slices for my breakfast sandwich were too thin, resulting in a soggy egg sandwich, but the flavor was good. Chai was tasty, and not too sweet.

Loud, crowded and charging extra for create cheese with a toasted bagel?!!! So NOT returning. Over rated for quality of food and atmosphere. I'd rate thier coffee behind 7-11, Danny's, McDonald's, Starbuck....yes in that order. Taste is everything stop burning it.

Really did not care for my food and coffee. Very soggy bread and bacon was bursting out from all sides so it was tough to eat too. The flavors were good though. The ambience inside is nice, but for those prices and what I had ordered (BBLT) I wouldn't come back.

I met my mom there for a working breakfast. Even though it's a chain restaurant it's good. The people were nice and even though we stayed for about an hour (looking at my computer) we were never bothered. There is also free wi-fi which came in handy.

Great Food! I have ordered from them numerous times at work, and they even deliver to you. which makes life so much easier. Breakfast items are always fresh and fluffy. The sandwiches are pretty basic, but still a good food and better bargin.

They have a great selection, and they even have lots of vegetarian options(I'm not one but thought I'd point it out) staff is nice, and it's just a great place for lunch or dinner. Food is a little expensive, but I believe it's worth it!

I love this place. They have great food for the price! Also the staff are very friendly. They messed up and charged is for something they shouldn't of and they not only took it off but have my husband a free coffee which was nice.

This is after they cleaned up and was there the whole duratiion of our meal. Floor was sticky. Food was very bland. Staff was clearly unhappy. Wasn't going to make review, but after staff said I looked like homeless. Unbelievable.

Nice for soup and salads and assorted other small dishes. Good food and polite staff. Parking can be a bit difficult so pack your patience. Recommended.

It used to be GREAT, now is in terrible and worsening shape. The employees, the saddness in their faces, the trash everywhere, no Tabasco, no chocolate milk... terrible.

Customer service was good but I didn't receive the food I ordered. I got the Anaheim panini and it was missing the avocado tomato and green onion and mayo, i just got egg and bacon. Very disappointed when I came home.

Service is great and the food is delicious lovely little brunch spot I recommend the wraps with the green Chile salsa - SO GOOD!

The vanilla iced coffee is yummy. So are the pumpkin baby bunts. unfortunately I can't give them five stars but that's beyond their control due to covid restrictions which forced closure of inside restaurants.

I’ve ordered about a dozen large catering orders form this location, but just now got to try it myself..Soo good. The staff is extremely kind and affable. They gave me some free biscottis too. Good people..

I'm absolutely in love with the harvest salad, I love to get the pick twos so I can have my favorite and something new. I love the outdoor seating the patio the Wi-Fi service. Always an amazing time

Disappointing - this sandwich looks nothing like what is marketed. Hardly any tomatoes and one and a half pieces of basil? Plus barely grilled. False advertising in my opinion. Step it up!

great food fast service friendly staff. I'd come back to eat here anytime it was a great place to stop off and get something good. It was excellent and I really like going here.

Hard to know when you can dine in or not. Had heart set on enjoying the freshly made food inside but it was for take out only. Might as well just close this location. Do it.
