Fantastic team at DC Precision Dentistry! They deserve every single star in their ratings and a bit more! This team operates like a family oriented service. Upon entry you are greeted by lovable Tyrone who is the first respondent , who prepares you for your service and handles the Billings and appointments. Very efficient and always willing to assist when you call on the phone . He is also an awesome DJ and has great taste in music! If your visit is just for cleaning and polishing to make sure those pearly whites remain bright and shiny then I recommend you ask for Thomas! He is your guy! That Colombian accent ! Oh la la la la ! For serious dental work , crowns, implants bridges, then Dr Deckard is the guy to see! I needed to have some extensive work done , and when he walked me through my options , I felt so comfortable with him that Dr Deckard did my , three crowns , two bridges , as well as my implants . It took me about 18 months to complete my dental work because I needed to be referred to other dental specialist before Dr Deckard could complete his work. Upon completion I was immensely satisfied ! I think he deserves 10 Stars for the care and attention he paid to detail and to ensure that I was comfortable with the process . (He may not look it , but he also has a wicked sense of humor) The times I spent in his chair were very memorable His referrals to Dr. Rostami and Dr Click also worked out wonderfully for me as well! I was so satisfied with his service that My Family of three also came on board. I will be leaving DC in November 2018, but I have already referred DC precision Dentistry to my replacement as well as to my colleagues at the World Bank. He is my ( BD ) Best Dentist in DC ! UPDATE: I wanted to update my review as my dentist from DC Precision called to apologize for my negative experience and refunded my money. I feel like that takes integrity to make that move which I respect. Revised from one star to three. Not sure the unanimous 5 stars but here’s my experience: 1) I called to check my insurance was covered and the receptionist said I should be fine. My fault for not pressing to make sure. But when I arrived she took my info and it wasn’t until the hygienist was in mouth that she told me I wasn’t covered. Precious little I could do at that point. No one was really compassionate, understanding or helpful on their side. 2) the dentist didn’t give me the dental exam for cancer as far as I recall. I was told I needed a cavity filling. After a second opinion, the 2nd dentist said it’s premature to do that. This would not be covered by insurance and the dentist knew that, which seems even more egregious to suggest I get an unnecessary and expensive service . 3) further the second opinion dentist gave me a discount on out of pocket dental guard fitting unlike DC Precision Dental. I got it $300 cheaper from 2nd opinion dentist. 4) by far the roughest cleaning I’ve gotten with more water pooling in my mouth than I’ve ever experienced. Negative experience from beginning to end. Do not recommend.

WONDERFUL PRACTICE!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Such a personal, professional, and caring team! I have been going to DC Precision Dentistry for 8+ years. Prior to using them, I had a horrible time at dentists - and never wanted to go. I shared this with Dr. Deckard and the staff and they took extra care/attention to ensure that I am always comfortable and understand the different procedures. When you enter the door you are greeted by a wonderful front desk team, who work diligently to ensure that you are cared for. You are brought to the back where all of the hygienists are excellent and caring. Dr. Deckard has been wonderful from checking my teeth, filling cavities, and even my Invisalign process! I would highly recommend this practice for any dental need - Dr. Deckard and his team get continuing education and are always up-to-date on all the latest and greatest ways to make you comfortable. They have very reasonable prices. If you do not have insurance, ask about their smile club - which is a low cost way to make sure you are getting cleanings twice a year. I have always felt like I am more than a patient and now like going to the dentist to get to talk with the entire team there!

I was recommended to Dr. Deckard at DC Precision after having an Invisalign consultation and I was well overdue for a cleaning. I had a great experience with the hygienist and Dr. Deckard further educated me on the state of my mouth in a follow up exam. After the cleaning, I scheduled two separate sessions to fill a whopping seven cavities in my mouth. Tyrone at the front desk helped me schedule the appointments to my schedule and sent estimates for each appointment, so I wasn't surprised and half numb at the end of my next visit. Both of my appointments were quick and concise, starting on time if not earlier than scheduled. His assistant, I wish I could remember her name was very welcoming and knowledgable--her and the doctor had very good chemistry that allowed me to be at ease during my appointment. For my last appointment, it was snowing and I believe I was the last patient of the day and I am so glad that they didn't cancel/close early and allowed me to get my teeth filled in the hail/snow/slush. It was UGLY, but I didn't mind making my way to the office because Dr. Deckard and his team are my favorite practice thus far.

I have been coming to DC Precision Dentistry for the past year and this is a wonderful practice! Dr. Deckard and his team are professional, courteous, knowledgeable, efficient, and kind. I’ve had both Amy and Tomas as my hygienists and always look forward to seeing them. And Tyrone at the front desk is always a pleasure! Billing in particular has always been smooth and stress-free, unlike other dental practices I’ve been to in the past. One of the best things I can say about Dr. Deckard is that he is very patient. I tend to be anxious (who isn’t when going to the dentist?) but he helps calm me by explaining procedures carefully, checking in with me, and presenting me with clear options. Great bedside manner! I would recommend this practice to anyone looking for a stress-free dental experience.

So. I started a new job last week and found out I won't have dental benefits when I first start. My benefits from my old job expire today so I needed a cleaning because I didn't want to wait any additional time to get one. My regular hygienist is on vacation so Dr. Deckard agreed to do my cleaning. Now I have had my teeth cleaned by dentists in the past and, they were not very good. They can do root canals, crowns and other complicated things, but not cleanings. Well Dr Deckard was amazing. I knew from the first minute he started cleaning my teeth that he was going to do a fantastic job. My teeth feel amazing. Thanks Dr. Deckard and not only are you the best, but you have the best staff working for you as well. I will continue sending referrals.

I have been going to this dental practice for more than 20 years. The offices are small but well-maintained and conveniently located near a Metro station. I've seen the same hygienist, Amy, for many years. She is kind and friendly and takes good care of my teeth -- she even remembers that I don't like the suction. The front office staff are very helpful and have kept me updated on their procedures when I switched insurance providers. I have seen three different dentists here and they have all been professional and courteous. They haven't tried to talk me into any unnecessary cosmetic procedures, and I still get sent home with a new toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste.

Saw Dr. Deckard because I needed a crown replaced. I've had several replaced over the years, and this was by far my best experience of any dental office I've ever visited. The process was seamless and scheduling easy, I never had to wait, and service was prompt and friendly. Most importantly, the replacement crown fits better than any I've ever had made, and the price was among the most reasonable I've paid. While other dental practices try to sell expensive services, this practice provides great service without trying to get patients to pay more. Highly recommend DC Precision Dentistry and Dr. Deckard.

In 2012, my colleague referred me to Dr. Balshaw's office and I've been a patient ever since. My dental hygienist, Tomas, is punctual, thorough and very nice. (I can also schedule my cleanings as early as 7 a.m.). The practice doesn't try to push unnecessary procedures in order to make more money. The office manager, Tyrone, always follows up with any coverage issues I might have. Since Dr. Balshaw retired, Dr. Deckard has taken over and he's really a great doctor. I always return from my visits flaunting my smile. I now refer this practice to my friends and colleagues. BTW, the office opens at 7 am.

I love this dentist and his staff! I've been going to this practice for 15 years since before it transitioned to Dr. Deckard a few years ago. I was worried because I loved the previous dentist who owned the practice. Dr. Deckard is just as good and just as good-humored. He and his staff (they stayed on after the previous dentist stopped seeing patients) do great work. Getting my twice-yearly cleanings plus anything else that might pop up is always a pleasant experience. Dr. Deckard and his crew really know what they are doing. I highly recommend this practice!

I tried many dentists when I first moved to DC before finding Dr. Balshaw. I am so happy to have found Dr. Balshaw. Unlike many other dentists, he doesn't recommend unnecessary dental work to churn up the bill. His hygienists are excellent as well. I don't like the instrument that many dentists and hygienists now use (the thing that sounds like a drill), and I'm nappy that my hygienist (Aileen) cleans my teeth the old fashioned way, by hand, and does a really thorough job as well. Top notch dental office!

Dr. Deckard’s bedside manner is incredible, he should write books about it and teach others. He really listens and never dismisses any concerns. Any question I ask, no matter how silly, will be acknowledged as a “good question” and answered thoroughly. Dr. Deckard is simply THE BEST! I’ve been a patient with the practice for nearly 25 years, first with Dr. Balshaw and now, for several years, with Dr. Deckard. In addition to excellent work, his judgment is superb. His staff is highly skilled and extraordinarily patient-focused; insurance claims are filed immediately; scheduled appointment times are honored; procedures and treatment options are explained in easy-to-understand language. And they care, they really care.

Exceptional dentist office. What I appreciate most is their more conservative approach to filling cavities. I've been going there for 2 years and I like their approach of "Let's watch it. Brush/floss really well and here's where to pay special attention." versus "You have a cavity, let's fill it." It subsequently reinforces me to focus on taking better care of my teeth at home. I've been to other offices that seem to focus more on filling right away.

I have ALWAYS had anxiety and fears about any dentist . I had had some dental work done somewhere else and it was not going well. I was referred to D. C. Precision Dentistry by my sister. Initially, I was anxious but after one visit, I was calm and worry-free. I now walk into the office with a smile AND leave with a smile on my face. I am so happy I found Dr. Deckard! I love this office and the entire staff!!

I’ve been a patient on and off since 2001, when Dr. Balshaw owned the practice and was always very pleased with the quality of care and the staff. I just had a number of fillings replaced by Dr. Deckard, the first major dental work I’ve had since the early 1990s. I barely felt the anesthetic shots and absolutely no pain throughout the entire procedure. I’ll definitely be recommending this practice to others!

Temporary denture provided fits perfectly and looks as natural as real tooth. Dr. has been highly knowledgeable, friendly and professional and the same should be said for the whole office staff. Dr. Deckard is the best and super patient because I'm worse than a kid and get super nervous every time. I went for a filler and didn't feel a thing. After being numb, the procedure lasted 5 minutes. Very fast and not painful at all. I highly recommend him.
