Our puppy couldn't get out of bed one morning and we rushed him to Delton. They wanted $500 before even letting him past the front desk! Once they examined him they told us he was dying but wanted another $1900 paid upfront before starting the necessary life saving treatment!! Couldn't tell us what was wrong with him but disconnected him from IV so WE could drive him to the emergency overnight even though he clearly wasn't stable. In the morning they took him back from the emergency but wanted another $1000 to keep him in next night! Couldn't explain to us why they couldn't watch him the first night but are ok to watch him the second night. Finally just told us it was a $300 charge for final tests. Ended up charging us $500 without our permission. Said it was a mistake but they couldn't give refunds so we got a $200 credit. Our dog was finally diagnosed with Addisons Disease. Next they wanted $260 every week for blood tests and injections for an "unknown amount of time". Couldn't tell us ANYTHING about the disease. Just kept saying they couldn't "disclose that information at this time". We called a different vet got more information from the receptionist over the phone for free than delton ever gave with our $3000. Asked Delton to transfer all our puppy's info to the new vet and asked for the credit to be returned to our card. They said they need the physical card to do the refund...even though earlier they said they can't do refunds. Brought the card in the next day and they said they had no record of a credit to our account and that we in fact OWE THEM $200! Claimed it was for tests performed on the dog but the date stamp for the tests was marked that day when he hadn't been to delton for over a week. We asked them to prove the tests were performed on him but they couldn't... strange because they had proof of all the other tests that we paid $3000 for. We accused them of trying to get more money out of us because we were transferring vets to which the receptionist actually admitted! Despicable. After arguing for over an hour they finally returned the credit and we left. Will NEVER use Delton ever again. All they care about is money and the office staff are the dumbest people I've ever met. There are so many good vets out there who will take care of your babies without subjecting you to this treatment. Don't settle for Delton.
I really really didn't want to do this but after the call I received last week I feel I have to. I've taken two of my cats here for almost their whole lives. The vets were always great, especially Dr. Gosal when he was still there. Then he left. And the new vet we got always seemed uncomfortable and bossy when talking to us. When one of my girls was 19, she started having health problems. Severe ones. We knew it was time but the vet kept pushing to have more tests done on her and it just seemed like she was pushing to make money. She was a sales at that point, not a vet. Last week is what did it for me. I had read others reviews saying this vet is just a cash grab and I didn't want to believe it, but now I do. I received a call from delton vet to remind me of my cats yearly check up and asking if I want to set an appointment. This would be all well and good except for the fact that her yearly check up is in February. So either someone messed up or they're just trying to get more money. Either way, I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. My four cats deserve to be seen by someone that cares about animals first, not money. EDIT: Do you think the best way to respond to a bad review is by quoting a dictionary definition? That's incredibly condescending and insulting. First of all, if you read my review properly, you'd see that what I wrote was about two different cats. The first one I spoke about, the one that the vet kept pushing us to do tests on has passed away because she was old and it was her time. The second is the one that I was called about for her "yearly" checkup when the last time she was in there was February. It's nowhere near her yearly checkup time. Furthermore, I just received a call to set an appointment to check on another one of my cats weight. I understand that it's important that they be at a healthy weight. And she is now. But I'm not about to pay the $90 checkup fee just to weigh her. If you honestly feel ok with charging your customers a checkup fee just to check on an animals weight, then frankly, you're in it for the money not for the animals.
We recently bought a Siberian Kitten through a breeder, which evidently had a 7 day checkup that was in the contract. Just for peace of mind that our Kitten was healthy. Well we sought out Delton Vet to be our first clinic. Our first visit didn’t go so well. We had an appointment on a Saturday in the morning. We waited over 1/2 hour just to see the Dr. And when I did she literally spend less then 5 minutes with us, she made me feel like not a great cat mom because of the diet and because I wasn’t getting his shots...even though he was only 13 weeks old and just had his 12 week booster. And also I make it clear it was supposed to be just a check up. I felt a lot of pressure from her which I didn’t take very well. After she saw us we had to wait for her for another 20 minutes, when the receptionist came in and told us the Dr wasn’t coming back. We went to leave and pay when the receptionist said the Dr actually still wanted to see us. So she put us back in a room for another 15 minutes just to turn around again and say the Dr was too busy. 2nd experience was us taking Dom in for his 16 week shots, to which Cam got there for the appointment time, again on a Saturday, for them to call me up and tell me there was an error in scheduling and we wouldn’t be able to see the Dr and get the shots done. So overall, time management seems to be something Delton Vet needs to work on Massively. Also respecting your clients time. As for the Veterinarians, maybe be carful for the way you talk to your clients. Maybe you’re just trying to “inform us” but don’t make us feel like we are doing it wrong because it’s not what you think we should do. And don’t try to push shots and such on animals that don’t need it. How are we supposed to trust your judgement when you do this? Hopefully this review will be taken seriously and some adjustment are done at this clinic. As unfortunately you lost this client due to the little errors. Sincerely a disappointment Client
I was concerned about my cat the week before Canada Day and she was occasionally sneezing and hacking away. My usual vet office was closed for the weekend and the other vet hospitals neared me were booked for the next few weeks. Delton Vet Hospital was able to fit me in on the holiday Monday which was a huge relief. The location is a bit awkward to get to from 82nd street since you aren't able to turn left into the parking lot due to the road divider. You have to go past the clinic and find a way to turn around before you're able to arrive. Apart from that, everyone was friendly. My cat was meowing lots in her crate so we were promptly shown to an examination room and the vet arrived only seconds later which was impressive considering the wait times I'm used to. Overall, she handled my tiny skittish cat really well, even effortlessly checking her teeth (which is something she ordinarily won't let me do even though I've had her since she was a kitten). She's only 3 years old, but the vet noticed some tartar build up and recommended a dental cleaning in the next few months which I'm iffy about mostly due to how expensive it is. As it was my first time here and I'm not a vet myself, it's difficult to tell if I was being upsold (I've had some bad experiences in the past with a few Edmonton vets) but the doctor seemed genuine and explained everything really well. My usual vet didn't seem concerned during our recent annual check-ups but I appreciate the issue being flagged so that I may look into this some more. The front desk staff were nice and let me chat their ear off a bit without making me feel embarrassed about my talkative nature (I hadn't spoken to anyone in-person for a week). All in all, this hospital is located a lot closer than my usual vet and the exam fee was lower than what I normally pay for last-minute vet hospital appointments. I'm sure I'll be back!
All of my animals have been seeing Dr. Jeff Person for eight+ years. Dr. Person is thorough, knowledgeable, caring and willing to say "I don't know" and consult with colleagues, medical texts, etc. I first came to Delton when my cat Widget started having seizures. Other than the emergency clinic, they were the only ones who would see her that day, and when she had a seizure right after I called them, they told me to bring her in straight away. That very same cat just went for a wellness check the other day, and I trust her and all of my other loved ones to this clinic. Dr. Person is willing to give all options, without pushing unnecessary surgery (e.g. on older cats we have had who were very ill). Sure, he could have done all sorts of additional tests and interventions. But when they were palliative, he is willing to say so, so that their final days aren't in suffering. Dr. Person and others have taken over this practice. I know the community misses Dr. Keeler. He was a great vet, and euthanized a cat of ours when Dr. Person wasn't unavailable. However, Dr. Person is truly a one of a kind vet and we trust him immensely with our cats. The techs and admin people are also incredibly loving and caring. I have been in every day this week visiting a sick cat, Henry. We don't know if he will make it, but we are hoping so. He is relatively young and up until now was very healthy. Dr. Person diagnosed Henry with pancreatitis and if he gets through this critical phase, there is a great deal of hope. The techs and admin people have been very caring during this difficult time, and have been giving Henry lots of love and snuggles in addition to his treatment.
All in all I had a good experience coming here. I brought in my budgie, who had developed a case of pododermatitis (bumblefoot). I found all of the staff to be friendly, accommodating, and professional. Dr. Kachur was great - knowledgeable, friendly, and she was able to diagnose the problem and prescribe a treatment that had my bird fixed up in no time. I gave 4 stars simply because for the first visit, my bird was kept and examined in a separate room, while I was in another exam room, alone. However, I requested to be present for the exam during the follow-up visit, and they were very accommodating to allow that. Not sure how things are done normally, as this was my first experience coming in to see a vet, but I would say just mention you would like to be present for the exam, if you prefer. I've seen a couple of comments about money in some other reviews. I don't have anything to compare to, so I can only say what the visits cost me. For the initial consultation, the exam itself cost $90, for an exotic animal. For the follow-up, the exam was $65. Medication was extra, with $14.18 (14 doses, at 0.02 ml each) for an anti-inflammatory, and $24.46 for a topical cream. All of this was pre-tax. Keep in mind, though, that your experiences may be different, with different quantities and types of meds. Overall, I was happy with my experience here. The staff and doctor were great, and they clearly love animals, so I would have no problems recommending them to someone else.
Sold a pup to a customer it was seen 3 times for pup checks from our vet in the country. One appointment was the day before going to new home.It was just finished a cold so I gave the remaining medicine with the pup.My vet clinic did xrays etc and everything was fine. When I handed her over to the new owners I told them get in your car and keep pup warm.so the owner continues blowing smoke in its face and stands with car door open chilling pup. Next day they show up there at your clinic .You never called our vet to ask about treatment you just had the client slander us and our vet.Your customers could have returned it or used pup insurance or contacted our vet would have been more than happy to help them or even pay the bill after you proved it was I'll.. The brothers and sisters are all well and healthy in there new homes. My vet is awesome and not stupid actually graduated top of her class been seeing her for years with all our pups.So your clients have now slandered her and us by your say so.so now you can meet our lawyer.I am not a backyard breeder,I am a registered okc member with quality stock and I pay good money for a vet and I would never sell a sick pet.So perhaps you need to check your facts before slandering other vets and breeders.
It's been a little over the year since our dog Bear died Our regular vet at Shifton is excellent, but they were booked up that day We chose Delton Veterinary because they were close to where we live Bear had been throwing up Their diagnosis was stomach infection, or he ate something he shouldn't have We only had $300, but were getting paid in a couple days They refused to do the proper tests to confirm what the issue was, because it was policy They treated him for vomiting and diarrhea He had actually been constipated for 2 days, and I have heard that this would make a stomach blockage worse They sent Bear home 9 hours later, he went into shock My wife took Bear to Pulse veterinary, who were compassionate and caring But it was too late The only option was to put him down Delton did not give us the option They did not give us a treatment printout with a diagnosis and treatment done 9 hours after being treated by Delton Veterinary our dog died We had to watch him suffer for 9 hours My review is simply this If you love and care for your pet, take them to another veterinarian Pulse is where to get the care that you need if your pet has an emergency
Every tech and vet at this clinic that I have met has been extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They make me and my dogs comfortable and are up front about all their recommendations, costs and are the best communicators I have ever had for animal care. The email appointment reminders and invoices are super handy for scheduling and insurance claims. I've brought my dogs for scheduled and emergency visits with no problems getting help. My one little guy, Fox, recently had dental work under sedation and is also not used to a kennel. At the last vet I used to go to, he came out scared and upset and had not laid down once after waking up. After his work at Delton, he came out with his tail wagging and the techs had told me he was actually sleeping quietly in a kennel post care. I love the follow up calls after every visit and test to ensure my pups are doing well. They are a bit higher cost than some other places I've been to, but I believe is worth it for the level of care and attention you and your pets receive. We are so happy to have found them.
We've been taking our pets here for a very long time. The staff is amazing. Always helpful with the questions we had/have. My dog has been there for all her surgeries. And she scares easily. But the staff there were gentle and kind to her and she seemed to be more at ease when she had to spend a few nights there. We had to euthanize our cat 6 months ago. And the staff was ABSOLUTEY amazing and very patient with us. It is expensive at any clinic. I do suggest that everyone get pet insurance when you first get your pet. We didn't. And we've paid thousands of dollars out of our own pocket. Sometimes finding the cause for the illness your pet has is difficult for vets. Doing tests is usually the only way they can diagnose. Our pets can't tell us where it hurts or how they are feeling. This lands on the techs and vets to figure out. I can imagine it's frustrating for them as well. This clinic is great! And they really do their best to help you and most of all your pet. I recommended this clinic all the time due to the amazing staff.
Tried to diagnose my cats diarrhea issues, their tests showed nothing while another vet tests showed roundworms (Delton supposedly dewormed him in July), a bacterial infection and feline Corona Virus. The medication they sold me before even having done a fecal test, would not work for any of these things...fortunately I couldn't get the liquid form into him and by time they got the right dosage in pill form I had called a new vet who had told me to wait to see what his laboratory fecal pcv test showed. She also checked his teeth and said since he had broken teeth removed at the shelter, they should have cleaned his teeth while he was under anesthesia, so no immediate need for teeth cleaning the dental procedures Delton recommended. When I returned the expensive food they sold me, I explained this to the receptionist, who said she would have the manager contact me, 48 hrs later no one has bothered to call so I'm writing this review. They seem more interested in making money than helping your pet..
Wonderful service and very kind staff. I was nervous about taking my Cockatiel in for a check up, but was promptly booked in for an appointment the next day and sent all the paperwork ahead of time to fill out. They took great care of my little bird and kept me completely informed throughout the process. I also truly appreciated them keeping my costs in mind. As it's very difficult to examine birds and diagnose them, I was warned about all of the possible procedures and the costs associated with them. I completely disagree with the posts that argue that this veterinary hospital is "out for the money." They were able to perform the necessary procedures to help my little bird and didn't feel the need to perform other more expensive procedures that would have literally doubled my costs. Dr. Kachur, Deanna and Sarah were amazing professionals and communicated very clearly with me. I appreciated their time, empathy and kindness, and am truly grateful that I chose Delton.
I asked for a nail trim while my dog was being seen. Every other vet charges between 15 and 20 dollars so I didn't think to ask. I got charged $48.50 for a nail trim. BEWARE...this is a cash cow operation! What type of professional response ist that from a vet's office? It is probably the same tech that brushed off the medication cost of over 300.00 at Delton. I got the meds for less than half the price at a normally high costing pharmacy. How do you assume someone is not interested in trimming nails? We normally trim our own dog's nails but if visiting the vet we ask as they normally do a much better job. My dog has black nails and responds better to strangers as well. This was her first visit there as I transferred from another vet's office. II hope there are actually people who read these reviews, especially your response. Can you explain why other vets don't charge 48.50? No, I don't think so. There will NEVER be a comprehensive exam there.
We have had nothing but a positive experience with Dr. Lisa Collis and the team at Delton in dealing with some issues with our wonderful cat Natasha! Dr. Collis, in particular is a wonderful, caring vet. She goes the extra mile to ensure that you fully understand any test results, treatments and procedures. She has called, leaving detailed messages regarding results, and has even emailed me! I wish my own doctor took the same care with me as Dr. Collis takes with our cat!! The vet assistants and lab folks are also awesome. They understand that pets may be frightened with the surroundings and are very gentle and understanding!! I feel that our cat is in great hands when they take her back for her blood work!! The front desk staff are awesome - prescriptions are filled promptly and questions answered easily. I have no hesitation in recommending Delton Veterinary Hospital Facility is clean, top notch.
Had an appointment with my cat to see the vet. After walking through the door 10 minutes late they said we have to reschedule and I was not impressed that my cat has been in the cat carrier stressed out and I explained that to them and they laughed at me and tried to degrade me and insulted me and thought that it was funny. I don't get angry much but that made me very very angry. So I retorted. Anyways they were very unprofessional degrading and very immature. At the end of the day I'm very glad that I did not take my cat in to see this particular vet and not only will I not be going back there three other people that I know are not going back there as well. We found another vet that's a lot more professional than this one. I have also filed a complaint with the VPA And I have made up my mind and there's no response that can change it so don't waste your time.
I must say this really is a 5 star Veterinary clinic!! In the most hardest times when we had to make the tough call to euthanize and cremate our best friend Delton vet was there with arms open and nothing but care and compassion & support! Which meant the world to us during this difficult time. Now we have a new furry friend named Nickel (in photo) and Delton has the best veterinary team on duty! This is the best vet for care and compassion . They spent an hour and a half doing the assessment on our new dog, and reviewing his medical record from adoption! Although, this is definitely NOT the cheapest vet unfortunately they’re very pricy. But the wonderful veterinary team keeps us coming back. We have had many many experiences with different vets and Delton wins us every time! I hope whoever reads this chooses this vet for your furry friend!
TLDR; The services provided were good but there was no communication from the vet or the clinic. They also have provided services that were not necessary, making it feel like a cash grab. We would not recommend this clinic. We brought our dog in as he started limping on his back left leg. The clinic was quick to take him in. They provided pain medication and completed an X-ray before charging us and giving our dog back with no information on the injury or what next steps we can take. We’ve contacted the clinic daily to try and get a hold of the doctor to tell us what’s wrong but all we’re told is that the doctor is busy. I would not recommend Delton Vet to pet owners in an emergency situation given their lack of communication during such a distressing time for our family and most importantly our dog.
My shiba has been going to this vet since she was a puppy - so nine years. We love this place. Her personal favourite vet is Dr Person (she has a deep affection for him), but we are happy with any vet there. The care is always thorough and kind, from the doctors, to the vet techs and reception. I feel confident and secure leaving my girl in their care and fully trust them with her health and life. I would also like to add that I have seen great humanity and empathy in the staff. There is a coffee station in the waiting room. One day while waiting, two men (appearing to be on hard times) came in separately and asked if they may have a coffee. The reception told them they were welcome to it. Free coffee for the less fortunate AND excellent animal care? Yeah, man.
I take my parrot Eric to Delton Veterinary Hospital. Everytime I visit, I am always treated with smiles by staff that seem to really enjoy what they do. They treat my little Eric with love and care, which is so important to me. Dr. Kachur has provided me with extra info regarding special care and nutrition concerns, and the staff is always more than helpful in answering any questions I have. Treatment options are always outlined and discussed so that you can decide what is the best for you and your pet. Overall I am very pleased with Delton Veterinary Hospital, and would not hesitate to recommend them to other animal owners especially if you need an Avian vet in Edmonton. Keep up the good work!
The veterinarian that helped had already dealt with two emergencies prior to us, and she was professional, and ultimately so very kind when we had to put our dog down. Even though we waited, something needs to be remembered. Out of all careers veterinarians have the highest rates of suicide and depression. Veterinarians are not millionaires. The field of animal husbandry is not regulated, and that is why it costs so much, and at the end of the day, after operating costs, vets do NOT make that much. They take on so much, and they deserve to be treated as valued members of our society. Take care in how you treat them. Thank you again Delton Veterinary Hospital. Truly.
As a first time pet owner I was really anxious about the choices of vets, but I am so happy I chose Delton vet! The for the initial check up the doctor was very informative and answered all my questions about food, insurance, ect, and the front staff were very nice and cleaned up my cat after she peed herself because she was so nervous!! The second time we had to go was for an emergency visit, and although it was costly the vet team brought her in immediately and within 24 hours had a diagnosis and treatment plan. Dr. Person was wonderful and explained everything to me about my cats diagnosis and kept me very calm!! I would highly recommend this vet clinic!
We’ve been taking our dogs here for about 5 years. Staff are incredibly compassionate and thoughtful about how me and my current dog, Sandy, interact with other dogs, or how a home treatment or hospital procedure might impact not only our dog but also my family while we are managing things. Sandy has chronic conditions that we have to manage all the time and it’s not always easy especially when she has some new symptoms that we don’t know what to do with as she ages. I always feel like I have a lot of support from Dr. Collis and plenty choices in how we help Sandy feel better. And they work on helping to keep the cost as low as possible which Is great!
Our family has trusted Delton with our pets since 1983. All of our animals (cats and dogs) have lived long healthy lives because of the care they have received at home and at Delton. We love both Dr. Collis (terrific diagnostician) and Dr. Persson (fabulous surgeon). Yes, owning an animal and taking proper care of it costs more than a bag of food a month, but you get what you pay for. I will continue to ensure my furry family has the best, and fully recommend this clinic. It is also worth building a relationship with the veterinarians instead of doctor shopping for the cheapest clinic. These vets know my animals and when something is not quite right.
The service from the staff was excellent but they were soaking me for all the money I had. They ordered test after test to try and find out what was wrong with my Sphinx. They offered new food and more test, but at the end they said I should have picked rabbit over my other choices. I don't know why they wouldn't tell me this, but they let me pick from a list. Also one doctor told my my cat was going to die, then got another doctor who called and said that was false. I didn't know who to believe so I took my business else where. Thousands of dollars just to be told in the end that I picked the wrong food. Front line staff are amazing and friendly.
Dr. Russell is AMAZING as are the assistants, technicians and other staff. We have been to a few other veterinary clinics but NONE, not even a tenth, have come close to Delton. They were amazing start to finish with myself and my cats. I was given comprehensive health reports as well as all options available for the treatment of my cats conditions, they truly truly, they will help you get the best price and explore any options you can or can't afford. We received a direct call from Dr. Russell with test results as well as further instructions. I cannot express enough how informative and knowledgeable the staff is. You need to see it for yourself!
Nothing but good things to say about Delton Vet and Dr. Kachur. My cats have complex behavioural pasts and Dr. Kachur truly looked at the problem from every angle. While waiting for the urine test results to come back, her suggestions reduced and (nearly) eliminated the problem I had brought them in for until she was able to prescribe the mediation necessary. Vet visits normally stress one of my cats out for days afterwards and her anxiety was kept to a bare minimum, I was truly impressed with the standard of care. Is this the cheapest vet? I'm going to guess it's not. Is this the vet I feel comfortable bringing my pets to? Absolutely.
We recently rescued a puppy from the humane society and we took her to Delton for her first checkup and booster shots, we were lucky enough to have the same vet that assisted us with our cat a few years back when he suffered an allergic reaction to one of our house plants. Not only was Dr. Collis able to do the work quickly, but she also explained in plain english what she did and why. We were very happy to receive her advice on pet insurance and healthy food choices, both being concerns we brought up during the visit as this is our first dog. We will be returning to Delton in the future.
Took my rabbit in because she was sneezing and was told her teeth were looking overgrown, but it could be potentially fixed with a change in diet. They suggested a follow up, most vets don't change for a follow up appointment, but the instant I came back and the vet started suggesting surgery and pushing for blood work and other tests, I knew there would be a charge for the follow up and I was disappointed.... I already paid over $100 for the first time appointment and then to be told it was another $70 for the follow up....like other reviewers said, it feels like a cash grab....
I took my female Russian dwarf hamster there for unexplained bleeding. He told me I was stressing her out and gave us antibiotics. So I gave her stress bacteria? He also said she was bleeding from her rectum. WRONG!!!! I ended up taking her to a exotic vet a week later and she had a ruptured uterus. She was NOT stressed nor did she have an infection. Because it took so long to have a proper diagnosis unfortunately within a month of her 1st visit to Delton she had to be put down. Worst part was Delton cost way more for 1 visit than the 3 subsequent visits to the fancy hammy Doc.
I should have wrote this review years ago, but this clinic was absolutely exceptional at taking care of my dog when she was diagnosed with cancer. They performed a leg amputation surgery and I was well informed of the procedure, cost and after care and never felt like I was just a number to them. They consistently followed up with us, and when my dog passed away for an unrelated reason years later, I received a condolences card which warmed my heart. I have moved to Morinville but will always, always make the commute to Delton, it is worth every second.
The Delton Vet Hospital is usually open on Saturday, but apparently they were closed on Saturday, July 2. But there was no indication of this on their website, and when you called, there was a message saying, “leave a message and we will call you back”. My husband left a couple of messages. It’s now Monday and we still haven’t heard from them. We have taken multiple pets there regularly for several years and have seen the service steadily decline. It’s now terrible. And they are very expensive. Oh and by the way, OUR DOG DIED ON SUNDAY.
Agree with some reviews here, these guys got MONEY as priority way over the pets!!! The staff are sometimes clueless!!! You call to ask if vaccinations are updated because dogs are going to a boarding kennel and they say Yes when it turns out they don't have KENNEL COUGH updated!! Cost us so much trouble having gone to the Kennel and sent away!!! If Albany Vet had not taken us without appointment we would not know what to do! And we went there from my friend's really good recommendation, turns out he was right.
I've used Delton for a few years and have had some emergencies over the years. After taking my dog to the emergency clinic, I was quite distraught as they wanted to amputate my dogs leg as they said it was necrotic... I waited 3 days until Delton was open to get a second opinion. Delton reminded me that even though my dog is white, she had black patches of skin... so Delton saved my dogs leg!! I will be going to Delton for the rest of my pets lives.
Had a great experience here. Was able to get my car in right away and they got him some pain meds for his tail. The staff seemed to really care. Shasta was amazing, we had a lot of questions and she happily answered all of them. The vet seemed very knowledgeable and thorough. They called me after a few days to check and see how charlie was doing. Will definitely be coming here again for both of my cats as they really seem to care about the animals!
We own three large dogs ages 14 to 6 and the staff at Delton Vet Hospital are excellent! They help us monitor the dogs' weights, vaccinate them, and keep them in top shape! Recently we had a cancer scare with our oldest (and favorite) dog, Samson. Everything turned out extremely well! Samson had to have a mass removed and biopsied, the staff phoned us with updates and kept Samson calm and happy. I cannot recommend Delton Vets highly enough!!!
I brought my very senior cat in and he was so petrified on the way there, he peed in his carrier. They we so kind they not only clean him up and the carrier while he was in their care, but they ensured the remainder of his visit wouldn't be stressful, they provided a complimentary dose of medication for anxiety. The staff took care of him really well and I am grateful for what they did for us. The small things make a big difference.
It's ALL about the money. My dog had a yeast ear infection...3 visits and $900 dollars later....just to be told she is going to have this for a long time. I asked them if there was any way to get a discount as this was the same problem and I am a single dog parent struggling to make ends meet and they refused but played me because I love my dog so much. I will NEVER recommend them or EVER take my dog back to them. MONEY HUNGRY!!!
More expensive than the other places. We dont believe in shopping for the lowest, but we do expect being competitive. Unfortunately we only found out after our last big procedure with Delton. 30 to 35 percent more is significant for surgical procedures. When we started calling Delton for quotes, we noticed a drop in response time. We went to another clinic today, and i stand by my review in terms of competitive pricing.
took our Kitty here for her first vet checkup with us. All the vet techs and ppl at the desk were friendly and helpful, and the avian vet (dr k) was patient and open about everything, and gave us lots of advice to take the best care of our feathered friend. the checkup cost $95 and they didn't provide any services that would add to the cost before discussing with us. would recommend this clinic to any bird parents!!
We've been taking our black lab to Delton since he was puppy (over six years). I love the the staff and Dr. Person has given our dog the best of care. We've always been happy with the service. I see some complaints in the reviews on cost but my experience has been that vet care in general is expensive no matter where you go. Pet insurance is a must. I highly recommend Delton and I highly recommend Dr. Person.
We have been "patients" of Delton Vet. since the mid-1990's with all three of our "Magoos." Dr. Sarah is a very thorough, competent and caring Doctor and the staff at Delton are very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Magoo III just loves going to the "Doctor" because of all of the attention afforded to him by the staff and getting "petted up." Jim & Bob Starko St. Albert, Alberta
My elderly dog hasn't been well for quite awhile. Tests were recommended, and we found out that our doggo has hypothyroidism. Dr Person called me on vacation to discuss the test results and required medications. He was very thorough and knowledgeable. Moreover, he greatly eased my fears. Been going to Delton for over 10 years- professional, caring and knowledgeable staff!
Have had great experiences using their online store for my pet’s high-allergy food needs, but it would have been nice if they had it noted ANYWHERE that they close for an hour 1-2pm for lunch - definitely would have saved me a trip. Edit to add: they claim the hours are correct in google - they were not, until I made this review and contacted google directly to fix them.
Arriving without an appointment, I still got in very quickly. The technician understood my concern and was very supportive. The care and concern for my cat was evident. There was a bit of a wait for the veterinarian but as I had come in unexpectedly that was just fine. I left feeling that my cat would be fine. The only problem was putting eye drops in a cat!
Greedy and zero of sympathy for patients's pets. Appointments only and no emergency entry. Made an excuses because it was covid and told us only they can help with cat eye infection on friday -(5 days from now) . INFECTION!! It must get treatment now! Vet is all about profiting and business. NOT to prove a service to help patients and pets. Very devastating.
Took my bunny here because he had ear infection. We have been treated here for a month and there was NO improvement at all and cost a lot! The doctor told me the infection was NOT caused by bacteria, however my bunny gets better immediately after treated by antibacterial in another hospital. Absolutely overpriced and unprofessional. Not recommend at all.
If you need Veterinary services go anywhere but this company. Brought a small budgie in to see if it could be helped, just to get an X-ray I was quoted at $300, to relieve some fluid, vet check and X-ray would be $800. This company doesn’t care about the animal but just their pockets. Unreal. Their reasoning was we just work here and same with the vet
the exam rates are higher than some of the other Vets in Edmonton. I found a vet that would charge me a litter exam & vaccination rate which was less costly than Delton, also the quoted fee to spay my dog was almost double the fee elsewhere. When i call Delton Vet Clinic they barely say hello and put me on hold this happens every-time i call.
Everybody is good. Very attentive and friendly secretaries and all team really we are very happy. They are very affectionate with the animals.Today was our first visit to Delton Veterinary hospital and we are really happy with everything.Doctor Jeffrey the best bet that has seen my little baby Paris.Thank you for everything.
Dr. Sarah was really great and understanding. I appreciate the value of her listening on what was wrong with Cole. I was fairly worried being out of work that treatment and diagnosis would get costly but Dr. Sarah was very mindful of that. Also the lovely girl who helped Cole in the exam room was very sweet.
The staff were so friendly and thorough. They gave me options for my dog’s treatment and the associated prices and were great about helping me choose an option that was in my price point. A staff member called the next day to check in on my dog and encouraged me to call them if I had any concerns.
I walked in with my kitten, realizing it would likely be busy, very comfortable waiting area, friendly and accommodating staff. Got me in between regular appointments and got things done in a good manner and very considerate of my Kitty's comfort level. Love the cat and dog sections of the lobby.
My hedgehog (sonic) came in with a crooked neck, and the doctors there were so lovely and nice to me! And explained every option there was to have. Now she's coming home with me with pain meds and antibiotics, and she's in such a good mood! Thank you Delton veterinary Clinic for taking her in!!
My dog was a walk-in due to sudden tummy trouble. He was seen by a Vet Tech right away, and despite being a walk-in appointment, he was still seen by his regular Vet, Dr. Kachur. She was great, as usual. Becca and Carm explained everything clearly, were friendly, and were great with my dog.
My senior cat Olivia required surgery and I was referred to Delton Hospital. The operation was a great success and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. They also recommended a good pet food for Olivia as a senior and she is thriving. I know they are there for us when we need them!
Took Wilson in today for a broken dew claw. Staff is awesome and caring. They treated Wilson like he was their dog. Wilson was scared at first then very happy to be with them. Awesome job fixing his broken claw. Very fast and professional service. My favourite vet clinic. Thank you again
My family and I have been taking our pets here for years. The staff have always been respectful and professional. When I had to have my 14 old dog put down, the vet walked me through exactly how it would go and she was so very kind. I would recommend this clinic every time.
The staff at Delton many times has gone above and beyond what I might expect in providing care to my pets, specifically my dog, Charlie. Today was no exception. I am grateful to have a vet clinic that I can rely on to act in the best interests of my animals. Thank-you!
Exceptional staff and service with our injured parrot. Accommodated an immediate visit and level of care was outstanding. Thank you for helping us and our little Quaker! Strongly recommend Delton Vet for Avian care, routine check ups and emergency care.
Came in with my very scared rescue cat panda and Delton Veterinary were amazing and very accommodating to my sick cats needs. They helped us and even suggested some very useful techniques. I would highly suggest this clinic. Friendly and efficient.
I usually go to their sister clinic since it is closer. But my cat had some urinary issues that needed to get sorted asap, Delton fit me in so quickly and helped with meds and tests that didn't break my bank account! Very nice experience all around
Came in with an unexpected issue with my cat, they gave him immediate attention and were so helpful and accommodating. I was incredibly stressed and I believe Beca? helped me. I think that was her name, but she was so awesome! Love this vet clinic
My dogs were very well taken care of at Delton. The doctors were excellent and very knowledgeable. The staff were all friendly and very efficient. Very clean clinic as well. I would recommend Delton Veterinary Hospital for all our precious pets.
The staff here got my pup in so quickly and took such great care of her. We saw Dr. Spring and she was wonderful. Great with my dog and explained things really well. The price was super reasonable and overall it was just a great experience.
Excellent location, very large parking lot for clients, the most friendly and attentive staff, extremely professional despite the fact that they have many clients; You can always count on their help and above all that you will be cared for.
Amazing Veterinary Hospital. They rushed my cat Ziggy in for emergency surgery and saved his life. It’s nice in 2023 to find a clinic like the ones we use to take the farm animals to in 1960-1970. Staff that cares about the emotional bond
Amazing and thorough. Kind veterinarian and her staff went beyond our expectations. So happy that we have discovered this clinic! Now I know that Gemma will be well taken care of. She has already tried her wet food and enjoyed it! Thanks
This is the second worst veterinary service I've ever experienced. I highly recommend you take your pets elsewhere. While their staff is kind and caring to the animals, they are disppointing when it comes to their service, in particular
Phoned to book appointment for an annual visit. They clearly said that if you book at 8am, fee will be $89.Booked 8am, Oct. 2. After two days, checked the receipt and got charged $99.99. I phoned to make clarification. The lady wasn't
Great customer service, they handle exotics and they were able to help my hedgehog. However, they are on the busy side at times and things may go a bit slower than planned. I will definitely become a regular customer here!
I was flabbergasted and in utter shock in paying close to a $100 for a nail trim for 2 small animals. It an expensive lesson well learned. Most vet clinics charge 15 to 20 dollars, whos charges 50$? How absolutely insane!
We have seen Dr Collis for at least a decade. She has always taken excellent care of our furbabies (cats and dogs). In both good times and sad. She is capable and compassionate. The facitity is clean and comfortable.
Great ! Thank you for taking such great care of Dakota. Staff are very kind and my girl has been through a lot and is loved. Definetly a vet I trust with her care and recommend to friends. Thank you so much Delton!
The most wonderful caring staff, they all love our animals and take the best care of them. I was very relieved to leave my little cat in the hands of the best care providers. Thank you for all you do every day.
Everyone there is so nice. I have no problem telling everyone about Delton vet. I love the way you all treat the animals that is very important to me. Thank you for being #1with us and my furry friends.
Was nervous to have my Boston female spayed but they did a fabulous job looking after her. No issues at all with operation and she recovered very quickly! Thanks to all at Delton would 100% recommend!
Staff and Veterinarian were nice and polite, cheerful and Very knowledgeable, I would highly recommend them if you have a Feathery Friend that needs medical assistance, or just general Health Checkups
I enjoy taking my pets for regular check-ups but people don't realize the rising costs for everything today is making these desires difficult..so one has to keep shopping around for other pricing
All the staff were fabulous - and opted first for my cat’s well-being before running tests he didn’t need. We’ll be back for sure. Thanks everyone and Happy New Year!
Excellent veterinary practice. Takes good care of my dog, he likes going there. A little expensive though. The pic is Pepper waiting for his doctor in the exam room.
Delton Veterinary was great seeing us for an emergency with our cat. I'm very happy with the care we received and their ability to accommodate us on short notice.
I drove 40min to take my cat here for a procedure. The techs are amazing and so nice and the front desk as well!! I would make the drive again to come here!!

Excellent team, super knowledgeable and compassionate! I highly recommend this clinic to anyone who is looking for a great veterinary team!
Friendly. They make Rosie comfortable with tests and shots so that she has no aversion to the place at all.
Helpful and engaging staff! Always take good care of my kitties. Would recommend!
Would highly recommend. All the staff have been very friendly and knowledgeable.
Always a good experience. Great care for my pet and friendly staff.
