Ahh, the rare 4-star review of Dental Care Center of South Kansas City. Let me begin with what I loved. The office is clean and neat. The receptionists are friendly and everything seemed to run efficiently. The cleaning was a typical cleaning: Teeth are cleaned then flossed, and the dentist inspects to look for any problem areas. I had an old silver filling that needed to be replaced with a crown because the tooth was cracked. The crown was an easy and almost painless process. Unlike my previous crown, which was a total disaster (Dentist not to be named). I appreciated the care and attentiveness of the dentist in making sure there was as little pain as possible, and that my bite felt perfect. That's not always been my experience at the dentist, but it was here. As you may have read, they do incentivize 5-star reviews, and this had me a little nervous. Here are the details on that: 1. It's a $5 gift card 2. Only encouraged if your visit was truly 5-stars. I'm sorry, but I don't think that a $5 gift card to a fast food place is enough of an incentive to have you rate them 5-stars if your experience was truly a bad one. So that doesn't really bother me at all. The only reason I didn't give 5-stars is that they seemed a little overbooked one of the days I was there, and the wait times went longer than normal. That's really about it. Otherwise, they've been perfect! I highly recommend.

My hygienist Sarah was awesome. However I only saw a dentist once out of the 2 years I had been going there. The billing office on the other hand is only 1 star if I would even give them that. I have 2 insurances and each time they asked for a lot of money up front and then I have to stay on top of them to get it filed in a timely many and after it gets filed and processed i also had a large refund and I have to stay on top of them for that and it takes months to get my refund The young lady I guess who is the lead in billing is always so loud about everything what happened to HIPPA laws The last time to get our money back we had to go there personally and demand it they said it must have gotten lost in the mail. They had the doctor go and sign us a check There was also a time during my husbands appointment that he heard 2 dental students shadowing a dentist and he heard them say that if the office collects a certain amount by the end of the year the doctors will close the office and send them on a cruise. How is that for dental care

I am one of the many who have extreme distaste and discomfort about going to the dentist...and I have had many nightmare-ish experiences! I've moved all over the East Coast and other parts of the country, and by far, this place is the best. They worked with my husband and I to figure out the best options for us with empathy and flexibility. They are all (and I mean ALL) unbelievably kind, pleasant, comforting, informative, AND GENTLE! I've never had a pain-free cleaning until I came here. Even when I had a filling, the discomfort was so minimal that I was able to relax and not be rigid with anxiety for the first time ever. I highly recommend this place for all your dental needs. They have been taking care of my teeth for many years. The staff makes you feel like you are family. My friends and family now come here for their dental needs. I want to give a great big shout out to Sara and Lindsey. They both are super kind and friendly always. If you or your children have ever experienced an unpleasant encounter with a dentist, this is the place you should come. Everyone in the office is very kind, compassionate, and they never make you feel judged. So you don't have to procrastinate any longer. You don't have to worry about how long it has been since your last cleaning or the condition your teeth are in. They will take really good care of you. I promise.

This dentist office as far as I’m concerned our a fraud and thieves. They charged me $8000 did not fill any of my cavities, gave me a substandard partial that did not fit. It was so bad that the dentist offered to make me a new bottom partial for free. When I went to another dentist because they took nine months to do nothing he found 11 cavities among other things during the evaluation. When I called to see what I could work out because of their intense malpractice they told me they would not give me any of my money back and to take them to court. Also they will not give me my records so I am going to have to subpoena them. Please do not use this dentist or pay them upfront because they will steal from you

Everyone there is so kind & caring! They are so nice, very gentle. Everything is explained thoroughly in a way I can understand, & treatment options presented clearly. No one rushes me through. I have been going there for many years, had LOTS of procedures done, and never any problems whatsoever. The administrative staff is equally kind, friendly & helpful. Can’t imagine ever going anywhere else!! Dr Stiver is the best, sweetest dentist I’ve ever been too. He makes his patients feel like they are the most important people to him - not himself. He doesn’t act like some dentists that are anything but interested in their patients. Don’t know how lucky I got to meet Dr Stiver, but so glad I did.

Okay so I'm going to start this by clearly saying the reason there are quite so many good google reviews is that they will had you a gift card if you give them a 5 star review before leaving at the end of your appointment. However I did not take one of these and don't really think they need to do this any more. yes it is money well spent, all of the reviews were the reason I went there but the whole place was great the waiting room was comfortable, they got us in on a Saturday, didn't cancel our appointment because of the ice storm, checked with our insurance before any additional procedures. I'm really happy we found this place.

I was in search of a new dentist and quickly settled on the Kansas Center for Sedation Dentistry. Because of the good reviews, but also because Lauren Blunt is the best! I like her so much. I'm glad I choose this office. My hygienist, Sierra Rohrer, listened to my concerns about my previous dental experiences and proceeded to make me feel comfortable all the way through the appointment. She was great! Dr. Heck came in at the end of my appointment to discuss the state of my dental health and he was fantastic as well! All around, a solid 5 Star office! Thank you all so much!

Their 5-star ratings are not fluff! In the midst of a pandemic I got a really bad abscess. They worked me in just an hour after opening and took excellent care of me from the phone call all the way to goodbye. In my 45 years I have never left a dental office happy and impressed. Everyone was so polite and positive. I fully expected to overpay for the services, given the circumstances and timing. Nope! I'm actually looking forward to my return trip down the road. Dr. Stiver and his staff have redefined "dental CARE".

Dr. Stiver is by far the best dentist I've ever been too!! He is so kind, gentle and thorough! He always remembers where I'm more sensitive and where I may need to have numbed more than other places. I used to dread going to the dentist, but when I'm there, I feel totally at ease! The facility is so beautiful and clean, and the rest of the staff is amazing as well! Especially the lovely ladies in the front who always greet you with a huge smile! I would recommend this dentistry to anyone I know!!

Truly amazing. Aside from the part where the dentist took my tooth out, I really felt like I was at The Paris Ritz the entire time. The decor of the entire office was strikingly beautiful. The waiting area was homely and warm, and exceedingly comfortable. Every single person I encountered was charming and gracious, and exceptionally knowledgeable. Dr Hurst was extremely expert, and I immediately felt relaxed and at ease in the care of himself and his colleagues. Five. Gold. Stars. Just wow.

This dental office is amazing! I had the nicest hygienist, Kim. She was very friendly, easy to talk to, gentle, and knowledgeable. Their x ray equipment is very current, top notch technology, with quick results that are easy to see and understand. Dr. Stiver was also very kind and helpful. The office itself is beautiful and calming, and the office staff are wonderful as well. I am so thankful to have found this place, it takes a huge dental anxiety weight off my shoulders!

The second I walked in I was overwhelmed with how much I didn’t feel like I was at the dentist office. The front desk is so kind and caring. They made my visit so comfortable! I haven't been to the dentist in years & had some painful work done but everyone there made it a great experience! What an amazing experience! I brought my toddler in with an issue due to past injury & they were fantastic! Making an appointment with Dental Care of South Kansas City was one of tbe Best decisions I could have made. Dr. Stubblefield was an amazing dentist I felt absolutely nothing, and I had 7 fills. He was very kind and told me a lot. Monica the assistant was a sweetheart and got me apple juice when I needed and a blanket. She chatted with me and I’m an absolute chatter box. The ladies at the front desk, Melissa and Myranda, were very friendly and were very very lovely!

Nice office, great staff. Everyone is warm and kind, they make you feel very comfortable. You know you are always the number one priority in their office. When i couldn't make an appointment due to two deaths in my family. They called checked on me and sent me an awesome gift and sympathy card. They are truly the best and i love them like my family.

Love going here, they always get me in quickly and there staff is very helpful and friendly. They've treated my whole extended family and everyone has nothing but great things to say about how they treat their patients. Dr. Sky Kurlbaum was amazing! My 5-year-old had to get two cavities filled. They used a little nitrous, but did not have to fully sedate her. She didn't shed one tear! He was so kind and so good with her, he made her feel at ease and it was a great experience! I highly recommend Dental Care Center of South Kansas City for all your dental needs!

Great place for dental care! I just started coming here this year. I really like the atmosphere and the immediate friendliness of the staff. The staff is experienced and they make sure you are comfortable. Their waiting room is decorated very nicely and they offer various coffees as well. Office decorations are very pretty too!
