Dr Alex Kokorev is by far, the best dentist I've ever had. And I've had a few. Being very result focussed, direct and to the point, he can seem somewhat blunt at first meet. But once you get to know the guy, he's a very kind man, with a great sense of humor. However, regardless of who he is as a person, he is an absolute miracle worker when it comes to the chair. Having been in and out of dental surgery and various orthodontists through-out my teen and early adult years, as well as moving areas (and usually dentists) several times in the last ten years, I can confidently say; there is no one I would rather have working on my teeth. I only wish I'd found him sooner! In my mid twenties, I got taken for a ride (financially) by another clinic, also in St Kilda... And since, I've had some trust issues when it's come to dental costs and procudures. But with Dr Kokorev, I can honestly say that I have never once felt that I'm paying for unnecessary extras. I always feel like he has my best interest at heart. I've moved several times out of the area, further and further away each time. And even though I'm travelling for an hour plus each visit, it's still 100% worth it for the expertise and care I know I will receive.

Absolutely recommend this dentist, least of all because of the great value - very reasonable prices. Mostly because, as a person with a dental phobia, Dr Korkorev takes so much care and made me feel completely at ease. Very gentle and reassuring, just had a filling with no pain at all. Put it off for so long my tooth had a massive hole, but he managed to save the tooth and it looks fantastic. Last time, had a difficult extraction that another dentist refused to do. Dr Korkorev got the tooth out not problems - saved me from the expense of a dental surgeon. He has done great work on my husband and my niece. Everyone I have sent here has been really happy with the quality dental work, their overall experience in the chair and the price. Doubt you could find a better dentist ...

This was my worst dental experience. I’m convinced the positive reviews listed here are from friends and family. I made an appointment with Dr Kokorev after reading the Google reviews and regret every second of it. He is a Bupa gap dentist and it’s obvious he is all about getting as many numbers in quickly and taking advantage of the services he can charge. My appointment was very uncomfortable, rushed, painful and extremely uninformative. After my rushed appointment I had a lot of “extra” surprise items on the bill when I went to pay, all without my consent. When I asked about my X-ray results he refused to go through them with me as most dentists do and instead only printed out a cost / treatment plan. There’s lots of other great dentists around!

I've been seeing Dr Kokorev for at least a decade and his dentistry skills are excellent. He is very quick to perform procedures and have you on your way as quickly as possible to minimize any discomfort. Today he gave me a filling after I broke a tooth and it was very close to the nerve and I avoided a root canal or extraction thanks to his steady hand. In response to a couple of the other reviews on here I would strongly suggest to make sure you ask him questions. It's your mouth so be responsible for it. He will answer any questions you have but he can't read your mind. He is softly spoken so if you can't understand him you can also ask Alla at reception for information and she will be very happy to talk to you about any procedures.

I have visited this practice for many years and in my opinion one of the best dentists you can visit ( ever! ). Dr Kokorev and his wonderful team are true professionals in every detail and will make you feel at ease and proud that you have visited such an outstanding practice. The dental practice is spotlessly clean and Dr Kokorev has invested heavily in the latest dental equipment and techniques and skills...you just know this when you enter the surgery and also by casually speaking to the open and friendly staff. Myself speaking from the point of view of someone who suffers a little bit of anxiety when visiting the dentist, I always feel reassured that the dental procedure will be of a gentle, caring nature.

Have been visiting the Dr Kokorev for over 5 years, and have always received great treatment at a very reasonable price. The dentist always explains any issues in detail and presents all of the available treatment options, being honest about the pros and the cons of each one, and then together we decide what is best. I am very happy to have found the doctor as I have never met such an honest person who presents a realistic view of any issues, and does not push expensive treatments just for the sake of it. The staff are also very kind, calming and knowledgeable, which makes it a very enjoyable trip to the dentist. Can definitely recommend him if you want a doctor you can trust.

I'm a former dental student and switched to Dr Kokorev about 4 years ago and never looked back. His work is exceptional in all areas - from extractions to crowns. I had a bit of work done and he is usually punctual and the staff overall at the clinic are fantastic. Prices are totally fair and he only refers on for special cases that require it. I went to a dentist years ago that referred on for anything beyond a boring quick filling, but Kokorev does everything and to a very high, pain-free standard. Cannot recommend enough and especially good if you need a couple of things sorted out. My front crowns are some of the best crowns I've seen, full stop.

If u want a really good Dr who is not after money,but what is best for you, you are in the right place and in good hands. Staff are really friendly and Dr gives u professional advice on what's the best treatment for your case, will give you different options and it's at your discretion to decide what to do.No pressure! I came from another dentist who did a job poorly and this Dr helped me fixed the problem. Price is very reasonable as compared to the other practices. Dr Kokorev is fantastic, I've been going to him for a couple of years, and really happy with him. I am not brilliant with dentist's after having few bad experiences with different dentist's in the past. Dr Kokorev has helped me so much, always fast and thorough. I've also had two wisdom teeth extractions and both have been very good (I've had one more with a different dentist which didn't go well for me, so I was very nervous about these and he was fantastic.). The denial nurse and receptionist are also so lovely, and very informative, helping me with questions I have, and having a joke to put me at ease. Highly recommend.

I had a bit of a fear of going to see a dentist. So bad that I stopped going once it was no longer free (18 years old). I was 36, so that is a whopping 18 years! I was forced to go when a wisdom tooth broke in half from rot. Luckily I found Dr Alexander Kokorev. Him and his team made it very pleasant, painless. Now I don't have to constantly worry about my teeth and can eat without pain. I now visit regularly and walk out with a smile and a boost in confidence. Please go if your story is anything like mine, you will be glad you did. The best dental experience of my life.

If anyone requires a dentist who knows what he is doing (and trust me I've met a few who don't!!), who has real empathy and engages with his patients, who doesn't charge an arm and a leg for his services, then I urge you to see Dr. Alexander Kokorev. Also, dentists are never cheap, but his prices are affordable. You are unlikely to find anyone cheaper at this level of quality. And if you go regularly, you are certain to save a lot of money in the long run. I had recommended Dr Kokorev to a friend who needed some urgent expensive work done and she was also very happy, both with work and with the price.

If I could give Dr Yekaterina Kokorev 10 stars, I would. She is a wonderfully kind, friendly, bubbly dentist and she honestly makes going to the dentist a pleasure. She carefully and clearly explains everything, gives options, explains the pros and cons of different treatment paths, and does everything possible to make you comfortable. I'm thrilled to find such a great dentist so close by. The support staff are lovely to deal with, and Alla is always so responsive and helpful.

My wife and I have been clients of Dr Kokorev for many years now. The team at Dental Care is always friendly, polite, and accommodating. People usually associate a visit to the dentist with stress, pain, and complications. We've been very lucky with the Dental Care team to have never experienced any of this. Had my first dental appointment in Melbourne at this clinic and I'm quite pleased with the service. Place was neat and the dentist was friendly and professional. Excellent equipment as well. Since this was my first time to get dental services in Australia, I was a bit shocked with the gap I had to pay, but the receptionist was kind enough to help me sort things out with my private insurance. I don't normally write reviews but I was so impressed by all of the staff at Dental Care St Kilda. Dr Kokorev was so informative and also a really nice guy! He even gave me a call a few hours later to check on how I was going after my procedure.The dental assistant was really caring and the receptionist was also excellent and so helpful. I had a broken tooth. I went to my family dentist and he said it would cost thousands and I would need a tooth replacement.
