My first visit with Dr. Shehan was to get a second opinion on a highly bloated dental work procedure I got from another dentist. I was able to book in an early morning (7.30am) appointment with him through their online portal, super easy to use. He was on time the next morning, even though I made the appointment at 9PM. Dr. Shehan gave me much better dental plan, and broke it into simple procedures; making it easy on the pocket and the calendar. Since then, I have got multiple procedures done by him. Dental crown, filling fix for sensitivity, night teeth guard. He works at expert level and is like a ninja during procedures. He explained me the entire plan, walk me through the process on the day of each procedure. Unlike most dentist out there, he did not oversell me any unnecessary dental work. Very respectful. I am very happy with my dental crown. The night teeth guard he made for me was a custom and fits perfectly. The facility is super clean and the front desk staff are very professional. I like the radio station that they play on the waiting room. They have on-prem parking + walking distance from Ivanhoe train station. Thanks to Dr. Shehan, I definitely do not fear the dentists chair any more.

A few years ago I was looking for another dentist as my previous dentist wasn’t very interested at taking a proper look at my issues that had developed with my jaw muscles and the way my bite was after an adjustment of some rear teeth. So I was left to my own devices. I was recommended to Dentists of Ivanhoe by a work customer. Upon my initial consultation with Dr. Shehan I had already seen a number of specialists with conflicting assessments with what I was actually experiencing. He listened to me and, most importantly, took me seriously. He referred me to other specialists. After a lengthy and very stressful time I am now in good hands with a neurologist and prosthodontist and on the slow road to recovery. I cannot thank Shehan enough for his care and understanding with such a complex issue. In general I see Andrew Nguyen for dental hygiene who is also fantastic. They run a very efficient operation and the staff are all friendly and the practice has a very relaxed feel.

This dental surgery in Ivanhoe is one place I’ll truly remember. First and foremost I’d like to thank the principal dentist Dr Shehan and his wonderful team. I had a troublesome tooth that had some sensitivity with moderate pain and Shehan tackled my problem with ease. I am fearful of needles, this was no dilemma for him. The exam that he performed was outstanding. His expertise is undeniably out of the world. Purely first class treatment. I was explained my options and everything went swimmingly. Even the dental nurses are great here. The nurse I had today was Elly. Her care while being treated by Shehan was above and beyond. You can tell that each individual at this surgery takes pride in making all their patients experiences an enjoyable one. Not forgetting the front desk staff, they were compassionate, warm-hearted and had such a benevolent hand which is very refreshing. I recommend this place with flying colours. Dr Shehan is perhaps one of the most calm dentists out there. He is always so polite, makes the patient feel so comfortable, and wonderfully smiling. So professional, thorough, yet so empathetic to understand that dental procedures aren't easy to undergo and also costly. He ensures end to end transparency of the problem, solution, pros and cons, and cost benefits. I definitely put a lot of faith in his recommendation and suggestions when it comes to me and my family's dental health. He is also v respectful of the patient's time, rarely late to appointments. If at all, he is v considerate to apologize. I haven't seen such kind demeanor and humility from experienced doctors and dentists. The front office is also so friendly and accommodating. Always willing to help with appointments and insurance stuff. Highly recommend.

I recently received two fillings and was charged $930. This was a follow up appointment by the way. I was not given an indication of the price beforehand and certainly wasn’t expecting it to be that expensive. I called to check if this price was correct. The lady had a quick scan and she said it was. This is partially my fault for not asking for the price in advance of the appointment, although none of my fillings in the past have been anywhere near this amount They did a great job on my teeth but I left disappointed that I was charged this much for 2 fillings. I’m on unpaid maternity leave and had declined extra work they offered me (retainer and Botox) due to my financial situation. Be careful to anyone before agreeing to have work done.

Got my invisalign and composite veneers done here by Dr Shehan. Extremely professional and friendly service. From the first consult to finsh, Dr Shehan was patient and friendly - took the time to understand exactly what I was after and how to best achieve the results i wanted. My teeth required multiple refinements throughout the invisalign journey and Dr Shehan's attention to detail was second to none through the whole process. Dr Shehan's good eye for detail was most noticeable when it came to composite veneers - being able to translate what I was after to crafting my "ideal smile" was facinating and an enjoyable experience. Could not recommend Dr Shehan/Dentists of Ivanhoe more - completely worthwhile experience.

I am always very nervous and anxious about going to the dentist due to childhood dental experiences. I have just had the most fantastic, positive and painless experience with dentist Cathy, she was so gentle, reassuring and made me feel so comfortable throughout my visit and understood my feelings of being anxious and made me feel very calm and was always asking if I was ok during my visit. INVISILIGN @ Dentists of Ivanhoe. The staff are all very professional and friendly. By far the best dentist I have attended for a long time! I am just coming to the end of my Invisilign treatment which started in Feb 2020 so has taken only 12mths. This included delays due to Covid so, given different circumstances, it could have been shorter. I did it not only to straighten the appearance but to also improve my bite. Dr Shehan was great to deal with. Very friendly, informative and accommodating making it a very easy process to undertake. It has been a good 10 years since I last visited a dentist and I moved to Ivanhoe in 2019. I began seeing the wonderful team at Dentists of Ivanhoe Central this year. I just had my second visit and I couldn't be happier. The team are incredibly welcoming, friendly and informative. I didn't really know what to expect and at times goes a tiny bit nervous but I have had such pleasant experiences so far that dental hygiene is no longer a topic I avoid. They're more than happy to answer all questions and provide various alternative solutions to any issues. They are upfront and reasonable with pricing and even have payment plans available where necessary. Loving my new local Dentist!

This is the best dental surgery I have been to: in short, they are friendly, comprehensive, attentive to detail, and the end result is that while I have a mouth full of fillings, I no longer have any idea they are even there. To date I have had about ten old fillings replaced and a crown installed to deal with a tooth crossed with hairline fractures, all this over three or four visits. Dr Ting, my dentist, was excellent: I didn't feel a thing. He insisted on fixing every last detail, to the point I no longer know which of my teeth have fillings. The crown he installed is indistinguishable from my natural teeth. I can't recommend this practice highly enough.

I came to DoI after a disappointing experience at another dentist and in urgent need of a filling repair- they fitted me in with Dr Shehan the same day and I was totally impressed by him and the whole team. I've had basic check ups, cleans, filings and a crown with them since. The thing that struck me was their approach: they take the time to discuss the health of your teeth with you, calmly explain to you exactly what will happen during procedures, check in during the procedure if you need a break. The whole team creates a very calm, patient centered environment that I really appreciate and will keep me coming back.

I was in so much pain and in desperate need to remove my wisdom tooth, rang all around Melbourne without a look in, until I rang Dentists of Ivanhoe. Recently had an emergency with my wisdom teeth and Dr Shehan completed the surgical extraction promptly. I was very nervous but he and his team made me feel at ease. Excellent in every way. The staff are professional & friendly, offering all aspects of general dentistry & oral hygiene. I have had no issues with a crown done in 2019 which was unexpectedly painless. My oral hygiene therapist is amazing & my teeth whitening was noticed by friends. My dentist was very understanding when my new night splint was chewed by my dog & reduced the cost of a replacement. My only concern is that if too many people know how much I value the Practice it may be difficult to get an appt, tho I know places are kept for emergencies!

I got an appointment within the hour; a tooth that was quickly fixed, and found a practice that was local, professional and friendly. Big shout out to Dr Susan Portbury, who keeps my pearly whites on the straight and narrow of dental health and hygiene. I highly recommend this dental practice.

Extremely pleasant experience going to Dentists of Ivanhoe. I've always dreaded going to the dentist in the past (other establishments) however Dr. Shehan has completely changed that. I have recently had the majority of my wisdom teeth taken out and have felt no pain and that's without needing pain killers afterwards. Very happy! Took my 6 year old son to see Nemine and assistant Mary. They were absolutely fabulous. My son had a tooth removed (roots & all) as well as a crown. They explained the dental condition, that made it alot easier to understand what needed to be done. What was best for my son. Their gentleness made the whole process a breeze. Had a great experience with wisdom teeth removal. Job was done well and felt literally no pain the next morning, the one time I thought I had an infection I made a call and had an appointment 10 minutes later. Dr Shehan was my dentist and during the procedure. He answered all my questions and made the experience much more comfortable than it could have been.

I visited the clinic on 4th Sep 2020 as I had a terrible toothache. I called the reception when I arrived at the car park and I've never heard such a warm and professional greeting over the phone. Dr Shehan and his assistant made me very relaxed. Dr Shehan took the time to discuss possible treatments and costs. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
