Was turned off before even ordering a meal. Introduced ourselves at the counter where the lady behind it pointed out a table in the distance saying 'that's your table'. Didn't lead us to the table like any other wait staff would. The waitress then placed two of the oldest, dirtiest looking drinking glasses on the table and then placed a water bottle that had cloudy water and what looked like green algae inside. I suggested to the waitress that it wasn't a great introduction to the place to be greeted with such dirty looking glasses and water; after all, it's not a huge outlay to buy new glasses is it? She too agreed that the glasses were not good. I could see that all of the other glasses on other peoples tables were similarly poor. With this, she removed the glasses and replaced them with paper cups. You've got to be kidding me. Paper cups? Even the menus were old and had the original prices liquid papered over and new prices written over in pen. I mean, really?? Long story short, they couldn't easily work with gluten free options and were less than accommodating in menu choices. The prices were not cheap and certainly not worthy of the poor service provided and lazy attitudes. We walked out. I won't give our money to those undeserving of it. Funnily enough, we went just a little further up the road to another place that had exactly the same water glasses. Their glasses were crystal clear and the water bottles perfect. Needless to say, our $100 went there instead.

Nice location but won't be coming back. The staff were a bit hopeless, got my order wrong which normally doesn't phase me cuz it happens but they brought food out that i didnt order and never came back to fix it. After everyone in my party finiahed their meals I went back to the counter to just get a refund for a meal I never recieved. Could barely understand the cashier because they spoke so softly but I asked for a refund and thought thats what was happening. When I go back to our table the correct meal suddenly appears which was confusing and when I questioned the stagfer he was clueless so I thouhht ok maybe they ended up fixing it right when I got my refund and this was to make up for the unpleasant experience. Im not sure since I try not to make waves at restaurants cuz I know its a hard gig. But when I double checked my bank account I realized that it wasnt a refund they gave it was apparently me paying the difference for the correct meal i had originally ordered! SMH Need to train your staff better, the food was average but the experience was terrible and its defiantly put me off from visiting again unfortunately.

Visited this place for the first time and unfortunately, it did not live up to the reviews. The breakfast we ordered was pretty standard fare and not terrible but also not worth the price. My husband said the coffee was good but my tea was as good as a teabag can be in a pot with too much water. My milk also came out in a dirty jug, so I had to get that changed over. My son ordered a wet chai...pouring hot water into chai powder does not make it a 'wet chai'. In addition to this, there were a lot of flies, I ended up not finishing my tea because a fly landed on the cup and crawled all around the inside. When we were eating, we were constantly shooing flies away, which is fine, if you are sitting out the back, having a bbq, which we were not. It wouldn't hurt to give the place a clean either, dust and cobwebs everywhere. I read that this place had been closed for a break for a couple of weeks and only just opened, probably should have given it a once over. Won't be returning.

It's an great cafe with one of the best views in mount Dandenong area. The food was surprisingly good. We tried the vegetarian lasagne and salami panino , they both were awesome. The coffee was great too. They is a very pretty Japanese (if i am not wrong) garden on their backyard, lot's of bonsai and many other plants and decorations. We did a bit of quick tracking around it, was very refreshing. If you walk a bit around the place, the view and feel is very enjoyable.

Beautiful, family-run cafe. The staff are warm, friendly and generous. The staff learned that we were celebrating family birthdays and generously shared with us cake, flowers and warm hospitality. :) The food was wonderful and the Devonshire tea, delightful! It was wonderful to share with my family a space with wonderful food, warm service and a breath-takingly beautiful view! Thank you to the Destiny Point Cafe team for helping make our day so, so special. God bless you!! P.s. the bonsai garden in the back is charming. :)

Out for a drive in the Dandenong Ranges and dropped in to Destiny Point Cafe. A lovely little place, with inside and outside dining with a view. On the day we winged it for brunch, but filled quickly after our arrival. If more than 2, suggest you book ahead as it seems quite popular. Coffees where good and food came after a short wait, considering it was busy. Staff where nice and inviting. We look forward to returning for the Devonshire Tea, as it too looked yummy.

lovely café in a beautiful location, service is great , really good chai latte, scones and chicken focaccia was really yum. I've also been in another time- 10 minutes before they close on a Sunday and they were nice enough to let my friend and i come in even though they had already packed up and cleaned the coffee machine. There aren't many nice cafes that also have good food in the dandy ranges but this is for sure one of them. They have a great collection of bonsais to admire too

Thank you kindly for the scones. Um, can anyone show me something yummier? I'll wait. Really enjoyed my time here, just overall feeling lucky and blessed to have been able to visit. My podiatrist told me I need to get out more and that I should get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life in the big city. Well, he was correct. Thank you Dr Michael for encouraging me to chase my dreams, for had you not I would not have come out to this beautiful area and sampled these delicates delights x

Destiny Point is a beautiful cafe stationed on a corner over looking amazing views of Kalorama park. I think it’s a family run business - or at least it definitely feels like that. I had a warm welcome from the counter who explained everything we needed to know and we were seated right away. Breakfast was delicious - scrambled Eggs, bacon and mushroom on toast, and Eggs Florentine with Salmon. Coffee was also very good! Definitely would go back there for the food and stay for the views of Dandenong Ranges and trail walk through Olinda falls.

You don't get places like this too often, nice to sit and watch the cars go by with the view of the dam, and the soups and the scones are always good, everything else on the menu is amazing quality also. love this spot

Lovely cafe, position is beautiful. Time of arrival was not busy and staff could have been more attentive and efficient. Food was lovely Coffee was disappointing. Espresso coffee should have body and strength, not look and taste like plunger coffee. I asked for coffee to be remade and the second one was the same. Owner served me and after I explained that the coffee still wasn’t strong enough was adamant they made the coffee correctly…

Went for what should have been a nice afternoon lunch on a quiet Friday. We ordered and waited 45 mins for our meal to come, while seeing other people who arrived after us get their meals. Went and asked, and it still wasn’t even cooked and the excuse that a bunch of orders came at once was clearly wrong. Didn’t seem to care, didn’t even offer anything for us complimentary for the inconvenience. Steer clear. Unprofessionally run.

The views were great and the sandwiches were nice. The servers were stretched thin on a Saturday but really nice. The prices - and I say this as a CBD girl - were insane. $30 for a sandwich with frozen chips on Coles-worthy Turkish bread is nuts. You are certainly paying tourist prices. It adds insult to injury that we were given paper cups to drink water from. The cafe itself is dingy and run down. At those prices it was tough to look past.

  • Tarn Vee

Perhaps a little pricey for the area in comparison to others but the service as always delightful and the food is pretty tasty I’m not sure about the decor which seems more cultural to the owners than relevant to the clientele but each to their own I suppose and it’s certainly not offensive just seems confusing to a tea house in The Dandenongs ☕️

Me and my brother ordered The big breakfast it was so great especially the bacon and the eggs and mushrooms and the nice soft sourdough bread . And the long black was excellent and the owner is very hospitable and it’s very cozy. Genovese coffee is my favourite coffee brand it’s the best on the market its a great place to relax and unwind with a nice coffee up in the mountains

An amazing location. It is a great place to come, relax and enjoy your tea, coffee and scones. It may take a while till you get your food (we waited for 40-50 minutes). But the staff warned us about it as soon as we were ready to place our order. Drinks arrive almost immediately: 5 minutes wait for my long black both times we went to the cafe. So if you are up for a quick hot drink and a dessert - this is a perfect place.

First time at Destiny Point for my sisters birthday. Was hard deciding what to order, everything sounded so good, majority ordered the corn fritter stack….AMAZING!! Rip off!! Two coffees were $14.70 (yes, specialty milk and decaf - don't judge lol). Normally, they're $10-12 absolute MAX anywhere else. These guys seemed to use basic Woolies almond milk that has vanilla flavouring. Tasted watery. Poor quality for the price. Not coming back, sorry.

Probably most of impressed and enchanted comments come from the fact the the scenery and views around this cafe is so divine and exquisite that makes you forget that it’s a mediocre cafe with poor services and almost close to sleazy conditions. I gave 3 stars only because of its unique location and view. And also because the staff are nice and adorable. The service and quality however are nonexistent.

Great views, not very warm in cold weather. Good service - friendly staff. Not completely table service - order at the counter. Pretty busy so book a table to be safe. Great range of food, which is pretty good quality. Hot chocolate is pretty average, coffees were nice.

Friendly staff who also offer travel tips! Their steak sandwich was tender with a hint of sweet caramelised onion. Yummy chicken and leak pie - excellent crust and lovely chunky chicken pieces in delicious gravy. Very clean bathrooms that's well stocked (no-one likes a dirty restroom that's missing soap/paper etc...). A must for anyone needing a relaxing stop and a good feed.

The Devonshire tea is amazing. I'm really particular with my scones and they came hot and steaming from the oven, just the right size and with delicious jam and cream. The tea is organic and the view of Silvan dam is - as always - exquisite. The staff are really nice too so all in all a brilliant brunch stop on your mountain drive.

Small cafe up along Mount Dandenong Road. Great service. Had their homemade scones and they were delicious. Much better than Miss Marple's Tearoom. Salmon avocado melt was great. The staff there were beyond friendly and helpful. We were even given a short guide on where to go and places to visit just before we left.

Probably the best chicken burger I have ever had and wonderful staff. Only downside is after spending $80 on lunch them wanting to change $2 to fix the fact that the large pot of tea they served only had one tea bag in it and was as week as water. If you only want to us one tea bag is the correct size pot.

What a welcome stop. Friendly staff. Good value for very yummy dishes. Great location. What a view. Excellent mid Drive stop Best on the corner cafe. Just watch your step crossing the road. A bit of a blind spot both ways. The bonsai collection has to be one of the best. Have to check it out.

Nice location but it took over an hour for food to arrive, kids got really cranky - too many people with dogs around when seated outside, although on leash but my son is scared of dogs wasn't a Greta experience. Dirty toilets. They have recently increased their prices and felt ripped off too.

The quality dropped significantly from the past. It took very long time to bring us three coffees and scones. Scones quality reduced big time and it is not even close to the texture of real scones. Staffs were friendly but i guess a bit slow although it was a bit busy.

Good cafe in the Dandenong region. Good views from the deck at the front and parking available opposite. Recommended :-)

If you’re looking for a relaxing meal, with a beautiful view and personal service, come check out Destiny Point! The food is fantastic and the scones are some of the best I’ve ever had. Could not recommend highly enough!

We have been going to this restaurant for a few years now and always been one of our favourite places in the area, the food was exceptional and friendly service with great view above the Silvan dam. Highly recommended.

  • Monique Findlay

Had coffee and Devonshire scones and cream. Both were nice. View was pretty. Meal came quickly and staff were friendly. Only fault is it doesn’t have a comfortable feel, with very haphazard decoration and furniture.

The view is really beautiful, the service and food good! The atmosphere wasn't as cosy as I prefer. But that's just my preference. It wasn't crowded and the food came out quickly. If your in the area check it out.

Had breakfast here today. By far the best in the Dandenongs. The food was fantastic. The chef is obviously really passionate about his food. Such beautiful flavours. We will be back for sure. Thanks

The scones were delicious. They were fluffy and warm. The staff were extremely friendly. The location and view of Silvan reservoir was perfect. Thank you for a lovely mother's afternoon tea.

The food was delicious. I had the Eggs Destiny for breakfast. The eggs were perfectly poached. The bacon crispy. The avocado fresh. The coffee great. Definitely worth the drive to eat there.

I found this restful nook of a haven with freshly baked scones and hearty coffee. Very nice and friendly service. The jam is home-made and is divine. I will have to come again.

Amazing spot and surrounding outlook. Friendly staff and tasty food. Grab a cuppa and enjoy the scenery or enjoy the freshly made scones. Better yet, why not have all. More

First time and we were not disappointed. They also gave us a table with probably the best view in the restaurant. Great food and wonderful fellowship amongst friends.

  • Bruce Mitchell

Excellent food, well presented, but service is slow and it is a shame they don't take orders at the table because people were queueing out the door waiting to order.

  • Lee Ferris

Lovely tasty and beautifully decorated coffee, excellent cheesecake and fantastic friendly, helpful and smiley staff. Couldn't recommend highly enough. Thank you. X

Cute cafe with a view. Scones are freshly made and delicious. Coffees are okay. Staff are busy but still friendly.
