I've been a frequent customer at Detour over the years... I'm always extremely happy with the coffee and food I receive. I love Detour's iced lattes (with maple and oat milk) or their London fog. They use tea bags instead of syrups so they're delicious. The pastries are always fresh and never disappoint. Try the almond cloud or sweet scone at your next visit. I would recommend the breakfast sandwich with avocado if you're looking to stay for lunch... YUM! They offer lots of vegetarian options. The staff are always friendly, professional and happy to serve me and my family. Their coffee knowledge is extensive and they can answer any questions you have about their retail beans. :)

Recently went to this establishment with my wife and daughter as we heard some good reviews from friends. It seems like a spot that I could see locals enjoy, however I don’t think it was worth the trip from out of town. The pastries were stale and the flavour in our drinks were less developed than we would have expected for the price and reviews. We also felt uncomfortable with how some of the staff were dressed. Freedom of expression is one thing, but some of the clothing the women were wearing (or lack of) combined with how inappropriately tight they were left and my daughter uncomfortable. As a young impressionable child I felt deeply saddened with how uncomfortable she was while we had our order and she later mention that she felt “icky” with how they were dressed. No pun intended, but this place was definitely not our cup of tea.

A neat little neighbourhood café with a large patio. Ordered an Iced Latte - which was 50 cents more than the hot one for some reason - and it was enjoyable. The cafe also features a good selection of coffee and breakfast options, alongside a mini in-cafe bakery. But the best part of the place is the atmosphere, getting to enjoy a nice cup of coffee in the patio was a delightful experience.

We came here during phase 3 of covid pandemic on a lovely Saturday. Staff here are very friendly and attentive. The patio is private and shaded with style. The coffee and cookies here are beyond my expectations. The buckwheat dark chocolate cookie was a perfect pairing with our iced coffee. We ordered the iced latte (husband got a refill, it's that good) and a breakfast sandwich and Mediterranean chicken sandwich. Ingredients are fresh and flavorful. Needless to say, we will be back here again!!

Such a nice local cafe in the neighbourhood! Wish I live close by. Today, I ordered a flat white and two bags of coffee beans. The barista was very friendly to explain the types of coffee beans and helped me to get the one that I like. The flat white I had today was a medium roast coffee beans that taste flowery without too much of acidity. Strongly recommended

This place surely deserves a 5 star rating. Staff is excellent, very friendly very accommodating. Beans are fresh and coffee tastes superb. It was my first time at this place and surely not the last. I will go again to buy the beans and get a cup of Joe. I definitely recommend this little joint in downtown Dundas. Jem of a place!

Our go to coffee place in the area. Their hot chocolate is our go to along with the buckwheat chocolate cookies. A little pricy but quality is excellent. Looking forward to returning soon.

This was my first visit. We just popped in for a coffee break. The atmosphere was very relaxed and our coffee came quickly. Although we didn't order food, the baked goods looked delicious.

This review is for the coffee/cappuccino at detour cafe. Went there to meet a friend in the afternoon, had a cappuccino and it was delicious- smooth and rich! Its a cozy with enough plugs around if you want to work on your laptop. Great atmosphere as well. Definitely would stop by again when I'm in the area.

Heard about their beans and wanted to check this place out. The coffee is smooth and prepped very well. Baristas know what they are doing. The food and baked goods are delicious too. Only reason I gave 4/5 is due to the really high expectations I had coming in but it's more of a 4.5/5.

Great tasting coffee that is also art. Scott created an image of a swan as he made this latte.

Lovely place with super delicious coffee and pastries. The new renovation and the back yard space make this cafe even more lovely. Cortado and lattes are great, pastries are fresh and not sugary, the staff is nice and kind, the service can be faster but it is OK.

Drove in on a recommendation for great coffee. I have to say the freshly ground coffee was a nice smell upon arrival. Parking is available on the street if you can on dropping in too. So bring some loose change to take care of the metre. Ok

It was too noisy inside. The outside patio is nice and cozy. Portion size was generous. Service was really good; they have an efficient system. Coffee was well-balanced with a nice aftertaste. Would recommend the pulled pork sandwich. More

Cozy, friendly staff and delicious baked goods esp their double chocolate pumpkin loaf or sweet potato loaf. Isn't overly sweet and tastes just right. They also serve breakfast and small lunch fares but the kitchen closes at 4.

Ordered a cookie, and was very dense and hard. Cappuccino was not my favourite either. The espresso seemed under extracted. The cake was good.

A very nice place to have a sandwich and coffee in autumn noon. The bread is so good and you can not stop buying one to take back home. It’s recommended by my friend, I like here so much.

My one of favorite coffee shop! Love this place and coffee so much. The space is a bit small but love the design and it was very cozy. I had salmon open sandwich and it was great :)

The coffee and chicken pesto sandwich I had was so good! Great meal for after a hike at the Dundas Conservation Area. Great atmosphere, staff, and patio. Highly recommend.

Every cup here is well crafted. Flavour profile of flat whites are out of this world. Pastries are made FRESH everyday, multiple times, using real ingredients. More

Unique potato leak soup and paired nicely with their bread. Also the apricot tea cake (grain free) was delicious. Food was well worth the long lunch line up.
