Discovered this place during quarantine. I just moved in and was ordered to work from home but still hadn't unpacked my coffee essentials. I needed coffee stat. My go-to coffee shop that I would hit up before going into work once in a while doesn't have a location for 10 or 15 miles from here sadly, but this bakery hushed me and said everything was going to be just fine! The café de olla is out of this world. No creamer needed, but I don't do black - either way you have it will be amazing! They didn't strain well my first time but on every other visit it has been perfect on temp, texture and taste. Can't attest to their cake, but their pan dulce is thee best in Phoenix. (Yes, even better than Phoenix New Times' pick!) My days of peeling the dulce off the conchas and tossing out the pan are over! Moist and tasty all the way through. I've introduced it to my whole family and they've driven miles for them already. Cookies, croissants, niños envueltos are absolutely impressive too. So very proud to have this bakery in my neighborhood! P.s. they close at 7, not 830 as noted by Google
This bakery has really good danishes, their little cookies are delicious and their cheesecakes are pretty tasty as well. However, this place should not promote making personalized cakes. I recently ordered a cake for a baby shower that was supposed to be boxing themed with actual strawberries filling and the outcome of the cake was pretty disappointing. I was told the cake would be ready by 1:30pm, got to the bakery at almost 3pm for pick up and we still had to wait another half an hour, the cake was not ready, all the details were made last minute and the filling only had literally 3 pieces of strawberry. This has been such a disappointment.
If I could give it zero stars I would! Every time I go there the lady in the cashier gives me attitude. She always looks mad. Just 1 week ago I ordered a white cake with gold dripping in the border for $90 it was such a simple design. Went to pick the cake up and was shock to see the border had blue/black dripping instead of gold it looked horrible!! Needless to say I didn’t take pictures with it and just wasted my money. They didn’t even make it 3s leches as I wanted but instead gave me envinado.Told the lady about the cake and she didn’t care at all.
This was my first time here. I tried a little bit of everything. I bought red, green and cheese tamales. The tamales were good. Good enough for a craving but not the best I've eaten. I got 2 bolillos with ham, jalapeños and cream cheese, those were delicious. And finally, I got a cake from there. I was supposed to get a 3 leches but they gave me an Envinado by mistake. I didn't mind, the cake was delicious! Much better than a 3 leches! I had never tried cake Envinado, it is been my favorite cake ever.
During quarantine , I got the chance to drop here. I was just moving in and ordered to work from home but still hadn't unpacked my important coffee. I is in need of some coffee immediately. My go-to coffee shop that I'd hit up before going to work once in a while unfortunately doesn't have a 10 or 15 miles position from here, but this bakery hushed me and said everything was going to be perfect! Cakes and pastries are must-try! Highly Recommended!
I have no idea why goggle mapping takes me to the back of the bakery out side a wall in a alley that doesn't access the bakery. So if anyone else has this problem just go to 51st and McDowell and then go East on McDowell and then turn North into the parking lot. You should be able to find it there. I'm going to try and have a cake made for my wife's birthday---5/5/66 Cinco de Mayo. I'll be back to let everyone know how the cake was.
I was very disappointed with my 90$ cake I ordered form my son. I expected the cake to look somewhat similar to the picture, that wasn’t the case. Also requested buttercream and strawberry filling I got neither. It was cheep butter cream and got peach filling like what the heck man so disappointed. I didn’t get a call about substitution for the fruit which could have been an easy fix especially for the amount of money I Paid !!
For the past five years we have bought our cakes here and they have always been amazing, except this last time. The ladies taking my order were rude and my cake was so burnt I had to throw out almost half of it. I was embarrassed to serve it to our guests. I'm not sure if they made changes or it was just a one time thing. Also they couldn't be bothered to spell out birthday on a big cake. Annoying.
Doesn't even look like these people have experience in making cakes, we ordered a baseball cake from a specific team and the cake was supposed to be a baseball, all they did was put a ring baseball, the fondant was like if my son would've cut it himself. His name was not even put correctly with the icing. Terrible cake! I could've made it myself and even better for the ridiculous price we paid!
Good customer service order some cupcakes. Her frosting was really delicious. Cupcake was a little dry, but overall really delicious and good thank you guys for the service and making the cupcakes for my granddaughter’s birthday. Appreciate everything will come again. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
They need to work on their customer service. The lady that helped me didn't even acknowledge me and I was the only person in the bakery at the time. I'm not giving my hard earned money to a place where their employees behave as though I'm imposing. I'm giving YOU my money and you can't even greet me or say 'thank you for coming?' Get it together!
They have the nicest people working here, you'll always get great customer service. And SERIOUSLY there's no other place where you can find the pan dulce that you will find hmat this panaderia. The only bad thing about this place is deciding which one to get I always want to try all of their choices of pan dulce. You'll love it.
If you want fresh baked Mexican goods this is the place to go. They have the best bolillo in the valley. My love language is my husband surprising me with a torta and Cafe de Olla from Diana's. I almost didn't make a review because I wanted to keep this place just to ourselves it's that great.
Be aware that they charge 75 cents for payment with cards. They don't have any sign that warns of such charge. I have spoken several times to the staf at the panaderia but they still not done anything about it. I understand that bisnez is a bisnez but, doing it by surprise, is not ethical.
We've been here twice and they haven't had enough of what we went there for. And they've been out of tamales both times. I should have paid more attention in Spanish class, the food here is awesome but I only understand just enough Spanish to get by
The bread is great here if your lucky to find any. Gotta be there at right time to find any. ZERO STARS!!! On the tamales you Only get a pencil size strip of meat inside and they have no taste. That's the first and last time I buy tamales from here.
Their pan dulce is out of this world, it so good I really recommend this place.

The Mexican bread here is great and good selection of conchas, elotes, nidos and all the good stuff you come to love from a Mexican bakery flans also available and sell tortas as well that's still on my list of things to try.
Cake is good but the girl really needs to practice on her handwriting, it was sloppy, not to mention proper positioning JEEZUS! Pan dulce is good, Service is alright. Refine those few problems and the place will “ROCK!”
I love the cakes, pastries and cookies the make here. Satisfies the sweet tooth without you feeling like you just ate 10 lbs of sugar. Sweet enough without being overly sweet. I highly recommend this bakery.
Clean facility, and bread is soooo good! Very fluffy and well priced. Would definitely come back here when I’m in town. If you want more variety, definitely come early in the morning.
Use to be an Excellent place but, now their Prices went to the Sky, one Tamale 1.75 each they use to be like 1.25 businesses was going good then they put Prices Up. NOT RIGHT!
Customer service is important to me! I bought bread haven't tried it yet. But because they were not friendly at all! I won't be coming back here!
They have a nice variety of pastries the only problem is a self-service and they do not clean tongs and trays after somebody else has used them.
Beautiful cheesecake. The single slices of any/all choices are hearty and delicious and fresh. Definitely a return customer.
The best bakery near by , there breas are always fresh and there tamales are sooo good , I highly recommend this place
The best bakery taste in Phoenix. The best "mil hojas " I ever try in years. This lkace is really highly recommended
Was told they didn't speak English. Unfortunately wasn't able to put in an order but they cakes look beautiful.
I ordered a cake and it was not ready by the time I requested, not only that but they were rude.
