From our very first visit, I was struck by Dr. Ferenc friendly, calm demeanour. He showed genuine interest in my senior dog and took the time to speak with me before performing the most thorough and detailed physical exam. His staff, Courtney and Tara, and simply lovely, caring and on top of everything. It is evident from how they greet and handle other people’s pets that they really care. Dr. Ferenc has successfully seen my dog through two major events this past summer, one being a ten-tooth extraction – major dentistry - from which he recovered without incident. The subsequent visit was urgent in nature. If not for Dr. Ferenc, my dog would surely not have survived a life-threatening illness without his expertise, diligence, and determination to save my dog. He and his staff went above and beyond for both of us in ways I’m certain few others would have done. I am entirely grateful for everything Donwoods Animal Hospital has done for my dog and am thrilled to have found my way to this clinic. The level of care and compassion seen here should be the standard. Consider this a ten-out-of-five-star rating with the highest of recommendations.

5 stars is an understatement! Dr. Ferenc and the Donwoods team are incredible at what they do. Dr. Ferenc's skill, knowledge and experience are matched by his empathy and compassion. I appreciate how honest and open he is about whatever is going on, and how patient he is to explain it. I never feel intimidated to ask questions. He's gone out of his way to show us X-rays, photos from a dental cleaning, and just generally has been more transparent than other vets I've seen. He performed a pretty invasive but life-saving surgery on one of our cats - the surgery was a successful, and the Donwoods team supported us all the way through it. The rest of the team are a pleasure to talk with and I never have an issue getting a hold of them or finding an appointment. I've walked out of the clinic feeling as taken care of by Donwoods as my cats were.

My fiancé and I had a good experience with Dr Ferenc. We felt that he explained things to us in an understandable way, although it was all medical. As concerned dog parents, it made us feel better when he educated us on all the small details. We appreciated that a lot. He also reassured us that if my dog’s Xrays were not clear cut, he could send the images for a second opinion by specialists. Lastly, when Dr Ferenc said he would send the X-ray scans to us via email, it was done immediately. Often these small things aren’t even offered by vets and if they are, you have to chase them to get it done. Overall, I think if you are a concerned pet parent that needs some extra hand holding, I highly recommend Dr. Ferenc. Thanks for looking after our dog Seki!

Our puppy had some unsettling issues one night last week and having known of Dr. Ferenc we called up this new clinic in the neighbourhood and have not regretted it at all! We were able to get in right away and Dr. Ferenc and the team were wonderfully welcoming and engaged with us and our pup the whole time. Dr. Ferenc called a couple of days later to check on progress. The administrative staff were fabulously friendly and on the ball. Do not come here. Why? Because this is an incredible vet practice and if you and a ton of other people come here, it will be harder for my two kitties to get appointments. Tongue-in-cheek commentary aside, this place truly amazing. You know when you meet someone, and they have this calming effect that makes you feel instantly relaxed? These people have that. Super nice, super smart, and super skilled. Their patience knows no bounds, and they take the time to explain everything. I wish they accepted human patients too. I would 100% make them my family doctor.

I found Dr. Ferenc/Donwoods when my 17 year-old cat, Gary, was very frail and ailing (his previous vet was horrible and nearly killed him). Dr. Ferenc and everyone at Donwoods were not only capable but, more importantly, also incredibly kind and caring. They helped Gary gain months of good-quality life, and pass peacefully when the time came. It was clear that they truly care about animals and always prioritize the pet’s needs and well-being. We are forever grateful for everyone at Donwoods - this is truly a special team!

We are so impressed with Dr. Ferenc and his staff at the Donwoods Animal Hospital. Ever since our first visit they have always been professional, kind and forthcoming. They truly put the animals welfare in the best interest and their actions and responsiveness reflect this philosophy. Dr. Ferenc is a fabulous and caring vet. He is genuinely concerned with your pet's health and has even surprised me with follow up calls just to make sure my dog was improving after he had seen and treated her. We should all be so lucky to have a doctor who cares about us the way he does his patients. He and his staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and love your pets as though they were their own. Ferenc is hands down the best vet my pets have had. He is warm, kind, and cares about animals. Although my last dog has sadly passed away at the ripe old age of 18, you and your pets will be in very good hands with Ferenc. Edit: I am happy to say that after grieving for our last dog, we have a new little friend under Ferenc's care. And the staff at the Donwoods Animal Hospital is likewise wonderful. I can't recommend the Donwoods Animal Hospital enough.

Dr. Ferenc at Donwoods Animal Hospital is a gem. We've entrusted him with our dog Mocha since he was a puppy. Dr. Ferenc's gentle approach wins Mocha's heart every time we visit. He even takes care of Mocha's nails during check-ups. He never rushes our appointments and patiently explains everything, from neutering to dietary choices.

got my 6 month old kitty spayed here. My experience was very positive. Dr Ferenec is very professional and he explained the procedure in detail to us including the care for after the surgery. The surgery was done on time without any problems. The staff are very friendly as well and I highly recommend taking your fury friends here.

This is one busy veterinary clinic for dogs and cats. Make your appointment early. Good service and medical help. Impeccably clean facilities and helpful staff. They do follow up on your pet most of the time but when they are busy it is best to check in with them as needed, and don't be shy, the vet is most accommodating.

I just brought our 12 week old cocker spaniel to Donwood Animal Clinic, and what a great experience! Dr Ferenc took his time to examine my puppy, he explained everything in great detail and nothing was rushed. He made me and my puppy feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend this clinic!!

Dr. Ferenc is excellent. He's very polite, knowledgeable and great with my pup. He takes the time to ask questions and listen to us. He doesn't push medications and always gives us options. His whole team has been very good to interact with.

The staff and vet are so incredibly kind. We had to put our old dog down but they were so gentle with him and patient with us. Place is amazingly clean as well. We just got a new puppy and will be going there for sure!
