If you’re looking for the WORST family doctor look no further! Dr. Poplawska is the worst doctor I have ever had and I was going to her for YEARS at-least 7-8 years from the time the clinic had opened. First of all she never seems sure about diagnosis she’s very wishy washy always unsure / is always rushing you through your appointment. Second problem I had with her really felt unprofessional because it was really none of her business. Which was last year end of summer I had become pregnant as it was an unplanned pregnancy but not unwanted. I had come into the office and told her about my news and the first thing she had asked me is if I wanted to have an abortion, I said no I do not. I just wanted to know when I should go for my ultrasound she then asked me two more times during my appointment if I had wanted an abortion. I was then told if she feels that I am not mentally fit she wants to send me and my partner for a mental evaluation. I have no history of mental illness, my partner and I both work full time jobs and also have been educated (went to college, not that it matters) we both are well into our late 20’s. She then again asked my age I am 28 years old she then said oh I forgot I thought you were 18-19 which seemed weird to me as I had been seeing her for years/my date of birth should be on my health chart. Honestly it should not matter how old the mother is as it is the mothers choice. I felt as though she was insinuating that my partner and I were unfit parents that’s why she kept pushing abortion which made me upset. Lastly if you want to discuss more than one issue at a time she tells you that you have will need several appointments during the week to talk about anything further. I had a few problems I needed accessing and she made 4 appointments for me the same week and the following week. WhichI find ridiculous as I do not have the time to keep running back and forth to the doctors office with a 3 month old baby, when she could assess me while I am there. I had told her receptionist how unhappy I was with 4 appointments to follow as it was unnecessary and felt like she was just milking it for the OHIP I would like to cancel and rebook when I wanted. The next time I called I was told my information was no longer there and she had dropped me as a patient with NO WARNING and had transferred my files out, when I had asked where my files had gone I was told by the receptionist that they don’t know she just sent them out somewhere because I had canceled my appointments. I said how can you just transfer me and drop me as a patient I was told it was because I was unhappy with the service. I will 100% be filing a complaint against her to the CPSO. If you have another option for a doctor go anywhere else but here I would give her a zero star rating if that was possible.
UPDATE I did have a mini stroke that day and had a major stroke again one month ago. With further tests I discovered I was born with Thrombophilia a blood clotting disorder. My life was at risk that day I went into the walk in last summer and the doctor refused to assist or let me wait there for an ambulance. I guess she assumed because I was so young and walking that my confused state must be from something else. Ive never smoked drank or taken drugs so for facts and I have a university of Toronto education. I haven't received so much as an apology or reaching out to my well being after my last review from. Unless you are a regular at this clinic dont see Dr Poplawska if there is an emergency. In my case I walked in very disoriented and confused but knew I needed help but didn't know how. I had a stroke. Terribly cold human being. I went to the clinic before for my son and the doctor who we saw was always pleasant. So today I felt unwell and walked over instead of going to the hospital first because I had my autistic son with me and didn't want to spend hours in the hospital unless a doctor suggested it first. I had signs of a stroke. Dr Anna Maria came to the desk and didn't offer me a seat or ask me any questions or offer helo or to call an ambulance she just flat out said she couldn't see me. I took my health card and went home. Never again will I see this cold doctor. I have a daughter in medical school and I will do everything in my power to make sure she never turns as cold as this woman was. The receptionists are lovely and always are and the other doctor as well.
Dr. Poplawska is a good doctor. I am not saying she is perfect. The doctor is truly caring and helping all her patients, I MEAN all her patients. I am not here to evaluate her, rather informing someone who needs a family doctor. Dr. Poplawska has her own good time managing system. I think it works greatly for the majority of her patients. The coin has two sides, unfortunately. When you wait in the waiting room, you feel good to see her in timely manner, almost no waiting time. On the other hand, to keep all the appointments under control, she asks you to make another appointment in the future to discuss all the medical issues that you currently have. Some point, I selfishly hoped she would continue the session for another 15 minutes. Of course, that will make everyone in the waiting room UNHAPPY. I was in the receiving end in the past. I used to wait for 30 to 45 minutes almost all the times with other medical professionals. With some specialists, I had to wait for 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hrs. A little inconvenience will benefit most of her patients. Like I said, the coin has two sides. Two or three appointments seems not so great, however, good news is you are seeing her on time or in no time.
I was a patient of Dr Anna P. I registered for a family doctor by filling a form and getting monthly appointments unlike a walk in. No one told me that I was not registered as a patient. Dr Anna diagnosed me for basic asthama (which I had complained off and has no cure) by giving me all forms of tests and making me run around to her office and wait to only be attended for a short while....totally a one-sided affair. She can speak to you in a very patronizing style and ask questions like you know how to use internet but you cannot question her for being later for an appointment which was supposed to start 30 mins before as per new schedule. She seems very keen on having patients be very prim and proper even if they are new and have to work at nights and her clinic is tiny and claustrophobic. At the end, she tried to tell me to go to a family doctor by making it look like I need a specialist and not informing me that she was not my family doctor. No one in her clinic gave me this info or admitted to it or gave any explanation.
Staff is friendly and Dr. POPLAWSKA is very nice and attentive. However, due to the way of scheduling and actual appointment works I am somewhere in between 3* or 4*. Most likely to get an appointment in the middle of the day. Next week or next month depends how busy it is. 30 min travel to the doctor's office (from work), 30 min back and 90% of time appointment is delayed (last time was half an hour). Longer you wait there is a high chance to catch some infection from other patients. When it comes to the appointment - 15 min per person and one issue per visit. Also, my husband had to come for the followap to be told that tests came back fine, when it could be told by phone. ROI is not that good. BONUS. Was sent to the optometrist consultation in Scarborough (why that far?). 1+ hour to get there, 10 min check up, 1+ hour to get home. 3 hours of day is wasted, when closer specialist could most likely do the same job SOLUTION. Stay healthy, stay home and don't get sick.
I went a few times as a walk-in patient; the first time I called and I had an appointment set in two hours; the second time I went with my 18months old daughter without an appointment and Dr. Poplawska was able to see her after only 20mins of waiting time. These are family doctors that also accept walk-in patients so, yes, sometimes they are very busy and won't be able to see you right away. The fact that they don't have much time to spend with each patient doesn't mean that they are not thorough or that they don't care. Dr Poplawska is now my family doctor and I am satisfied with her care and even though she doesn't have much to spend with me, she does her job in an efficient way and she will listen to my all of my questions and concern. ...and, honestly, I don't have much time to spend to the doctor's office either, so this works for me!
Went today because I am a sufferer of cluster headaches. I just moved back to Ontario from Alberta so I don’t have an Ontario health card yet. Charged me $70 cash for the visit, no exceptions. The doctor I saw was rude and rushed me. Claimed I didn’t know what I was talking about and that I couldn’t possibly have cluster headaches even though I was diagnosed with them over 5 years ago. She said I need to see a specialist, wouldn’t write a referral for me. Then gave me a sample of something that I later confirmed with a pharmacist that I should NOT use this to treat my cluster headaches. Completely rude to me and didn’t even introduce herself. Do not go here. I am surprised at the rating they had and only went here because it was better then the other local walk in.
I've scarcely felt so unwelcome and rushed as I did my visits with Dr Poplawska. Zero patience or respect for mental illness but an overeager drive to lecture you on how her practice works. You will be offered 5 minutes and given 2. It would be hard to find a less cooperative doctor in Leslieville. Receptionist is wonderful and if I could give 0 stars I would still give the one star for her work - she does mitigate some small measure of discomfort and I hope she finds a career with a practice that shows the same respect as she does. Also, the pharmacy in the same building is run by an amazing guy and if you live in the neighborhood it's worth coming to him for your medicine. Immensely helpful and compassionate.
Dr. Poplawska provides poor service, very unsatisfied with her and her medical support. I had an issue with her calling me 40 minutes past our scheduled appointment, and she reported that 30 minutes is acceptable wait time for appointments, not realizing that she was in fact 40 minutes late, and therefore past her "acceptable wait time" rule. Then, when I told her that I would not be able to continue with the appointment as my lunch break was over, she stated that this would count as a "no-show" on my part and I will be charged a fee. Overall, poor support, and ridiculous follow-up times throughout my brief time as her patient. I am obviously cutting my services with her and this clinic.
My original review read "Best clinic in the area" but I now need to change it because every time I call the clinic I am rushed off the phone by the receptionist. I haven't been able to see my doctor in months because every time I call in to make an appointment I am told to come in to the walk in clinic instead because my doctor is too busy and rushed off the phone. The walk in hours are horribly inconsistent to the times posted and I've been denied more than once. Today I called in yet again to try to book an appointment and was rushed off the phone with minimal information. It's very frustrating.
Dr. Poplawska is fantastic. She helped me identify root causes of early onset hypertension, and eventually make lifestyle changes to get off medication. She is very thorough and diligent in diagnoses and treatment. The other complaints I’m reading here of virtual appointment times being late are laughable. Who are these people that think the world and a drs busy schedule (during COVID no less) revolves completely around them. Don’t listen to those negatives, Dr. P is amazing and a lovely personality /bedside manner.
Both my wife and I have been going to Dr Su since the clinic opened. We are absolutely satisfied with his care and how well the receptionists respond. If you aren't happy with the services here, I think you may be one of those individuals who will never be satisfied. Mark at the pharmacy goes well beyond the standard to help and assist people. To anyone who has an issue with this clinic, I recommend you speak with them and work it out. They are compassionate, I've witnessed it on many occasions.
Dr. Poplawska is incredibly attentive and keeps thorough notes. She is very enthusiastic about her work, very knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. Mark (the pharmacist) is equally as helpful and very personable. He knows me by name and is more on track of my monthly prescription renewal than I am, to the point where he has it ready for me when I walk in the door. I cannot say enough good things about the professionalism of all of the staff here.
Do NOT visit Dr Lin, she will actively ruin your health if you're muslim. Extremely rude and accuse things you've never done., if you question her medication and your own experience with it. She attempted to suggest something worse with "evidence base" studies, her vengeful response to my cousin's simple concern about her own health.. Ear-drum hurts from her loud angry voice. Her real voice is very different than her fake initial nice soft tones.
Awful doctor at this clinic Dr. Poplawska, keeps you waiting for a long period of time in the waiting room then sees you for 5 minutes and tells you to come back for more appointments. She must really love the money from OHIP I have never been to a doctor that did not address everything at once. Very rude bedside manner too feels almost passive aggressive but in a nice fake snarky way wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you are desperate.
Very bad customer service , went there the other day cuz my family doc was on vacation, but the girl at the front desk told me that I have to wait 2 HOURS, even though there is no one was in the waiting room, funnily enough, it's already 5:00pm, is she telling me that i only can see the doctor when clinic closed? I don't recommend ppl go to this clinic, it's more like standard family doc rather than a "walk in clinic"
I have never had a family doctors office that is so dismissive and careless. I’ve been trying to get an appointment for over a week with no responding to my calls or emails. Told them o possibly had Covid. Told me to still come in or I would lose my appointment. Currently filing against medical negligence which was suggested by the ministry base on my consistent issue with this clinic.
Doctor Su is very kind and pay attention to patient. Don't see Dr. Dr Victoria Lin, she doesn't want to take time to help patient, she only wants to hit her targeted number of customer in a day. I saw her for having rashes ,she would not listen what I have to tell her, my history with the problem, she did not try to help me find any solution, just told me no solution for that.
Don't buy from this Pharmacy after you visited the doctors here at Eastdale Medical Clinic They over charge double price than Walmart pharmacy. $11.99 for single portion while Walmart selling at $11.97 for double portion of ointment cream. That is a rip off! I am reporting them to government. You take the prescrition and go some where else to buy! Pharmacy fraud!
Dr Victoria Lin has absolutely no sense of customer service or care for her clients. I have never met a ruder doctor than her. She seems to only care about getting through a certain number of patients ($$) without giving thorough care. She does NOT spend adequate time with patients to fully answer all concerns. Do not go here! 0/5
My family doctor is there since 2017. The clinic is very organized. Staff and doctors very patient and care about my health and wellbeing. The pharmacy is great too. Whenever I need, I buy my medicines there and pharmacist is always willing to help me by providing all the information required to take the medicine.
My family and I have been with this clinic since it opened. Dr. Poplawska is one of the kindest doctors I know. Not only is she very attentive to her patient’s needs, but she respects her patient’s informed decisions regarding health care. Thank you and everyone at Eastdale Medical Clinic for everything you do.
yall need to chill on the negative comments... i mean they are a walk in but also an appt place aswell.the docs get backed up they are not that bad... dr.su nothing beats this guy . also the 2 guys behind the medicine mark and his buddy forgot his name really friendly and very helpful. cant beat it.
Terrible customer service, A very rude reception staff who speaks Cantonese and broken Mandarin. She has difficulty to understand the patient needs. She needs language and service training again or fire her. 超級沒禮貌的前台。 問問題都不行,就開始要揚聲跟你吵架,聽國語能力那麼差,英文講那麼破,沒資格當櫃台的。 不爽做櫃台的,就辭職,不要坐在那裏惹人厭。
I was visiting Toronto and needed some medical attention, the Eastdale clinic was extremely helpful, accommodating & quick. I was seen almost immediately, for a fair priced fee & provided with all necessary documentation and receipts for my travel insurance claim.
Dr. Poplawska is an absolute nightmare to deal with. Completely unprofessional. She clearly has terrible time management skills and doesn’t respect peoples schedules. Appointment call was over 45 minutes late with no apology.
As the website suggested, I called ahead to book an appointment. I called at 10, appt booked for 11. It's now 11:08 and I've been seen early and received a perscription and had it filled out. Everyone was friendly.
Worst doctor. Victoria Lin is a snake. I’ve been at her family practice for 5 years and as a family practice, if you have another baby, she won’t see it. She’s full. Even for the families she sees.
Of course they only take cash....which makes me wonder every time I hear this in 2018 who exactly are they reporting income to? If you can help it...choose another clinic over this place.
Since I came to canada my family doctor is Dr Su, he is nice and caring, I’m so satisfied with him. And for receptionist here was surprised me. They’re so patient and caring.
So rude, when I called to book an appointment in advance and the desk person hung up on me and did not have curtesy to Listen to what I was saying.
Just came here. 2pm and the walk-in closes at 6pm. Don't come here. They advertise themselves as a walk-in but they turn you away. Rude front desk.
Best clinic I've ever been too. No wait time. Friendly staff and physicians who actually care about you. Amazing amazing experience
Been trying to call for 2 days (about 20 times) to change an appointment. No one will answer the phone and cant leave a message.
I easily set up a day of appointment and found their service to be efficient, effective and helpful.
Bedside-manners varies, depends on each day and mood, pharmacy stock common medications.
Very friendly, helpful and empathetic. Always very accommodating- excellent service
Dr. Lin is fantastic and take care of her patients beyond professional.
Apparently its not a walk in. Idk why it says it is.
Doctor is very good and competent.
