Super disappointed with my experience here. They charged me $150 to tune a bike I bought online. I asked them to address the noisy brakes and strange shifting. When I picked up the bike the brakes still squeaked and gears still didn’t shift and the GPS tracker I asked them to install wasn’t installed. Their response was my bike was cheap and they did they best they could. My break system would need to be replaced and my detailer was beyond repairing to perfection. I took their word for it, rode around with brakes that squealed soooo loud for months and a busted derailer that wouldn’t work on gear one. Fast forward I decided to take it to another shop (cycle East) for a second opinion, they fixed everything easily and now my bike runs great. Leaving me to wonder… what on earth did these folks do to my bike that costed $150? They can’t fix noisy breaks or adjust a derailer? Do yourself a favor and go to cycle East instead and get your bike worked on correctly the first time. Ps - if management is reading this.. can I have my money back? Thanks.

Wow! Huge props to Paul at Pedal Pushers. I’m super pumped this morning. I have a pinched nerve in my shoulder. Been doing PT and it’s much better now. But what I’m excited about is I took my bike over to the shop I use in Austin (Pedal Pushers) and had my mechanic watch me ride it. I know that sounds completely dorky but I’ve been suspicious that all the bike riding I do had caused the pinched nerve (that, or the stress of teaching ). Anyway, sure enough I have been riding it incorrectly. Been “lazy” in my posture and not holding myself up with my core but “sinking “ into my hands causing undue stress on my shoulders. I’m just excited because all of that is fixable. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to ride anymore. Paul was so very kind and patient with me. I highly recommend this shop!

This is my favorite bike shop in the world. The service is absolutely incredible. I pop in, tell them I need to tires and I have a meeting in 15 min and they literally had all the work completed in 7 min flat. I was so impressed I took my other bike in for a new set of tires later that day. They are so knowledgeable, their prices are very fair, it's a super high trust transaction, you know you are in the best hands. You can see the passion in on the faces of the mechanics. They actually love working on your bike. I gotten tune ups here, they built my whole Linus from scratch, multiple sets of tires, tubes, supplies, it's small but they got it all in some shipping container in the back or something, idk they are never lacking for parts.

This is my favorite shop for basic commuter equipment and inexpensive repair work on common parts. They have the lowest labor rates of any shop I know, keep a stock of used-but-working replacement parts on hand, and have always been willing to let me use their tools if I want to do my own adjustments while waiting for the train. If you're looking for a practical, inexpensive bike to get you from point A to point B, this is your place. I'd look elsewhere if you're looking for internally geared hubs, belt drive systems, featherweight racing bikes or other unusual and expensive gear... but for keeping your day-to-day transportation in working order on a budget, this is the best shop in town bar none.

Basically you need some tech help with generating text receipts for gear and inventory tracking etc. Caused a lot of anxiety in the beginning. In addition, I am not sure what you did with the bike and trainer but I had to give it a full tune-up by hand when I hooked it up, so I'm not sure what the point of leaving it was. Because I don't have all the proper tools to do that here, my hands hurt for days, and I'll probably have to redo some of the work sooner rather than later. In addition, the Specialized you said was fine slipped a chain on the next ride, so the derailleur needed adjustment. All in all, I'm not sure what I paid for.

I’ve taken my bike to 2 other places in town and they were unable to fix my slipping gears. The staff here looked at my bike and knew exactly what to fix, even before I told them what problems I was experiencing. They told me there would be a bit of a wait (3 weeks) to get my bike fixed and back to me. It was well worth the wait! I’ve had several tune ups over the years, but this place made my bike ride like new. They are reasonably priced and do meticulous work. I’ve recommended them to several people and I will definitely be returning for any additional work in the future. Thanks guys!!

I’d like to give this legend a shout-out! His name is Paul and is an expert bicycle repairman with @eastsidepedalpushers in Austin! A day ago I had both tires go flat halfway home. I called several bike shops but no one could work on the bike until I rang up Paul! He knew that this eBike was my only means of transportation so he worked hard and got both tires fixed and replaced the brake pads in less than one day! Thank you so much dude for helping me get back on the road again! The experience was amazing and professionalism was unmatched! Come see Paul for all bicycle needs!

I just stopped this afternoon to have some adjustments done after I'd done a frame-up rebuild of my bike. Carl quickly worked out the kinks in the shifting that I hadn't been able to correct, and gave me some advice on other improvements that could be made. The work was done quickly and Carl and the other person there were really personable. There was no upselling, just advice on what could be done next. The price charged was very reasonable. I've been here several times before and have nothing but good things to say about this great neighborhood shop.

Very happy experience with this business! It sometimes can be intimidating going into a shop when you're not an regular rider or know a lot about bikes. And this crew made us feel welcomed and supported the entire time. We needed full tune-ups and the staff walked us through the entire process. Although they were "backed up", I thought the turn around time was appropriate. I am happy to have found this place and will definitely be returning to East Side Pedal Pushers for any bike work in the future. Good prices and GREAT staff!

The took in my ebike that I tried to fix on my own and royally messed up. They were quick, patient, nonjudgmental, and educated me through the whole repair. This isn't a shop that normally works with ebikes so I was so happy to find that they figured the bike out in an hour, charged a wonderfully competitive fee, replaced the parts I had destroyed trying to fix it, and helped me put it back in the car. It's conveniently located across the street from my office so I will definitely be going back for road bike assistance.

Best bike shop in town. They’ve always had a quick turnaround on the work I’ve brought in. Awesome inventory for riding around Austin. My partner bought her first bike since childhood at Pedal Pushers, they were helpful with finding a bike that fit her. One thing I love is how polite the staff are, so many bike shops have condescending and arrogant staff. I’ve always felt welcome at Eastside Pedal Pushers. I will never run out of nice things to say about this shop. I’ve been using them for over seven years.

I was extremely hesitant to go into a bike shop for the first time. I bought a bike from Craigslist that needed a lot of love. These guys gave it just that! Lee is amazing! Not only did he make me fee comfortable but was very accommodating and detailed when explaining all that needed to be done. My chain was having issues during sxsw and when I brought it in they took care of me immediately, and didn't charge since I had been in a few weeks prior. Thank you for making my bike dreams come true!

  • Lauren Salinas

Staff was generally nice, however they seemed very critical of my older bike. I spent $45 to get the breaks fixed and when I got it home the breaks were getting stuck shut and the back wheel was on crooked. It did not seem as though they checked that it all worked before they gave it back to me. TOTAL waste of money. Had to take it to a different shop to get the back wheel and breaks fixed all over again, and the other shop charged me half the price. Outrageous, wish I had my money back.

They fixed my bike in 5 min. and were very reasonable. I've been here twice and was very satisfied each time. In my case the chain guide wheel fell off and disappeared. I was dead in the water so to speak. So I put it on the bus and walked it a couple of blocks and like I said they fixed it while I waited ( they have used parts on hand ). So if you break downtown they are close to the eastside of I35. They also have a tip jar for pizza, cookies, soda, etc.

Came in to get a front rack and the man with the earring made me feel discouraged to buy what I biked five miles for. He was telling me how complicated it would be to mount the rack and he could’ve done a better job explaining it because I got all the way back to the bike shop in my neighborhood and they could’ve worked with what y’all had, but I felt so misinformed that I didn’t buy what I needed.

  • Nicholas Garcia

Dropped two bikes off: one for a build and my commuter to be tuned up. The commuter has literally never run so smooth. So ecstatic to ride that thing now. The build up was fantastic, the folks at the shop really helped walk me through considerations on fit. Even offered to have me back for a tune up even though I didn’t buy the bike from them. Really great neighborhood shop.

  • Bryan Haynes

I entered East Side Pedal Pushers Monday morning without a clue as to the proper bike for myself. Ben helped me out so much with finding the right size, style, quality, brand, pricing, EVERY detail I needed to know! The shop is super cool and they have a great selection of new bikes, used bikes, & TONS of accessories. Keep up the great work Pedal Pushers!

  • Jerry Garcia

Took my Mountain Bike in because some of the higher gears slip, Alex got to work on it immediately. I thought for sure I was gonna have to leave it overnight. This is the place to go if you want to get back on the road asap. Friendly staff that go above and beyond at very reasonable prices and they had the part I needed (New Cassette) in stock.

  • Colin Kempter

Been a customer for years. Lately the service has been slipping. Obvious service mistakes being made. Came in the other day and they not only misdiagnosed the issue they over quoted me and they included a $20 bike cleaning fee after quoting a full tuneup. And the brake pads didn’t need replacement. Seriously? Bring back the old service!!!!

  • Roger Badillo

Awesome, knowledgeable guys. Took my bike in due to slipping gears, previous shop replaced chain and didn't solve problem. They checked tooth wear before jumping to replacing cassette and found teeth were acceptable. Cleaned gears, adjusted derailer, and tensioned cables. Bike works like a champion again. $$ Very reasonable $$

  • William Winans

Amazing work and service. Even though I don't live in this neighborhood anymore, their quality of work and professionalism keep me coming back. I've tried other shops out of convenience and was disappointed. They also helped design and build a bike for me that looks awesome and performs like a dream.

  • Eric Benton

Austin's best bike shop, in my opinion. I've been going here for 11 years and they always do everything in their power to help with whatever you come in with. There are usually some random used parts and bikes kicking around, and I've had a few great finds. I recommend this shop to everyone I know.

  • Luis Velazquez

Always friendly, never not weird. Cool spot in a booming location. Staff is knowledgeable and seem to know how bikes work. Lee helped me out with tires he didn't have in stock and since I don't shop online, this really made my day. I'm happy knowing I'll keep spending money here.

  • Ashley Longoria

The only place I trust with my bikes. They go above and beyond. Always chill dudes with fair prices. Nice selection of accessories and bike mods. They can also order you most anything they don't have in store. Cannot say enough good things about the pedal pushers!!

  • Zak Kaylor

Love this local shop - Bobby found the perfect bike for me, answered all of my questions, & outfitted it exactly how I wanted. Came with two free tune ups! Everyone there is down to earth & great listeners - not in a rush to get the sale and just do a great job.

  • Abbey kayl-young

So glad pedal pushers is still here in Austin! I have been taking my bike here for repairs and love since 2009 and Lee and every person on staff have always been incredibly helpful and educational! Thank you pedal pushers!!! I'll be seeing you shortly!!

  • Andrew Thompson

I just got a new bike and the crank arm bolt came loose and bent. I stopped by this bike shop to get a new bolt and they were extremely friendly, understanding, and refused to charge me for the bolt. I will definitely be back. What a great experience!

  • Philip Glasser

This place is great! The staff is very knowledgable and helpful. I have been in twice for flat tires. They are always able to fix the issue quickly and affordably. I will be back for all my biking needs. I highly recommend!

  • Dr. Benjamin Ritter

Unbelievably fast, kind, and affordable. Love this place and it's honestly my first time ever going to a bike repair shop. They walked me through the repairs I needed and were done within the hour. Highly recommend.

  • Squash Yogi

Took my bike in for some simple repairs. Lee the owner was very effective, efficient and went above and beyond to take care of my bike. It’s a small shop not fancy but they know what they are doing.

  • Teal Shalek

Great service! Very helpful staff that want to help their customers get exactly what they need. They patiently answer any questions. Also gave me a tip about basic maintenance for my vintage bike.

  • Carlos G.

Installed two tires in the wrong direction. Directional arrow is pointing the wrong way. Had to install again myself. Two starts because they did a walk in service quickly, but not correctly.

  • Arnold Saavedra

Great customer service. Took my bike in for a simple tune up and the person who helped me was honest and reasonable on the price. Was in and out in 15 mins.
