I first brought my dog, Bailey to see Dr. Steve Marsden at EHV when she was 15 years old. She had been diagnosed with a lung tumor and had a heart murmur. A surgeon at another clinic wanted to operate on her tumor, but I felt that she would not survive surgery; or she would have one entire lung removed. (And, my brother’s best friend, a cancer surgeon of the human kind had even recommended not proceeding with surgery). Had the Universe not stepped in, and not had an opening with Dr. Steve two days after the surgical consult, I would have succumbed to the pressure to have surgery for Bailey. Dr. Steve calmed my fears in the first visit. And, of course Bailey loved him immediately, because he fed her treats the whole time he was getting her history! Dr. Steve was very thorough in taking the medical history and in his first examination of Bailey. He prescribed Chinese herbs and the lung tumor shrunk! There was only the primary tumor and no further growths. Anywhere. Her heart condition stabilized. When Bailey developed arthritis in her hips in the fall of 2016 (age 17) - I was happy to know that she could have massages and chiropractic adjustments to help her walking. Kendra is an awesome massage therapist for your furry companions. Bailey loved her. In the one picture you can see her getting her massage with Kendra. The massage treatments and chiropractic adjustments along with acupuncture kept her going for walks, even though she was slower as she got older. Dr. Lex and Dr. Steve always answered my many questions, were always gentle with Bailey and took their time with treatments. Bailey loved getting treats at the front counter when she was weighed, and got to enjoy a couple of times when she snuck through the slightly opened desk gate at the front and checked out the back of the clinic and the staff dogs. I had taken Bailey to the Blessing of the Animals on October 1, 2017. Dr. Steve and his family was there, with their own two Weimeraners. Dr. Steve took the time to take a couple of pictures of Bailey being blessed and emailed them to me. Thank you for your thoughtfulness in that regard. Bailey went to be with the Angels on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the age of 18 years, 3 months and 18 days. Dr. Steve took the time to meet with me 3 days later to provide me with his feedback on what really happened with Bailey at the end of her journey. (Unfortunately, she did not transition at EHV as I would have wanted). Thank you for your time, Dr. Steve. I will forever be grateful for how the vets and staff helped Bailey have the chance to grow older with the best care possible. The office atmosphere is welcoming and the decor is calming...both for animals and their humans. I miss Princess Bailey with a terrible ache in my heart. But I know she received the BEST care she could have ever gotten with Dr. Steve and Dr. Lex. I was lucky to have them both treat Bailey. Thank you EHV for being there to help our furry companions live a wonderful life...for as long as they possibly can.

I met Dr. Kären & Dr. Steve Marsden through Rover, when they booked me to be their pet sitter for 2 weeks over the holidays. A week later when I had returned home, one of my own cats, Buddy, wasn't feeling well and my regular vet was out of town. I have had some awful experiences with vets around the city and I was weary about going to anyone new again so, after seeing how big of animal lovers they were and learning about all their philanthropic and academic work in the field, I felt I could trust them most and asked if I could pop in. What ensued was a nightmare-ish situation that I honestly couldn't have imagined getting through without them and the phenomenal work of all the staff at EHVC, with a special shoutout to the lovely Dr. Charlene who took close care of my little Buddy as well. Kären and Steve are not only animal lovers, but incredibly skilled and compassionate veterinarians. Their approach and dedication is unparalleled and their integrity is outstanding. I truly felt as if I had been introduced to them and their fur family for a very blessed reason. After a long and necessary process of elimination, Buddy ended up being diagnosed with what is known as colangelo hepatitis. He had to spend 2 nights and 3 days in the clinic, and as an anxious cat who only spent 1 night away in his life, I was worried about how he'd do. Unsurprisingly, every time I went to visit him he gave no indication of being anxious and watching the staff interact with him and update me on every little thing they noticed or did in my absence made me feel complete peace of mind. For anyone who is unsure about the holistic piece, know that they use a combination of Eastern and Western medicine and are happy to answer any questions and explain the various treatment options. I am quite new to the holistic world myself and always want to have as much of an understanding as possible when it comes to my pet's care so I had A LOT of questions and I didn't feel silly or uncomfortable asking once! I truly cannot recommend this clinic, and Kären & Steve, enough. I only wish I would have met these wonderful folks sooner!

Brought my very sick dog in with Pancreatitis and severe food allergies. Cost of initial visit is $280 plus any additional costs. Total bill for visit including some meds was just shy of $500. Your follow up visits are $178 to see the vet. The visit was a long interview pretty much the same as a standard vet. Then acupuncture was done and we sat in the room for about 25 min. We went home with a mixture of traditional medications and herbs. I was instructed to contact the vet by email for follow up and was given a card and address. At first I was pleased as my dog seemed to do very well for the first 2 days. By the 3rd day (Monday) he started to go into a bit of decline again. I emailed as instructed and received a response: I told the vet I was very happy but was starting to worry a bit as symptoms were returning. I was instructed to contact back by email on Friday to receive further instructions. I emailed back Friday morning as my dog was now doing very poorly. In lots of distress, had scabs on his back and had broken out with a rash. He was not doing well and I was very worried. It has now been 2 weeks and I have not heard back. It seems that if you email a positive response you receive a reply but if you email back (as instructed) requesting further help you are ignored. I can only surmise that the goal is for clients to pay another few hundred dollars for an answer. I made an appointment with my regular vet, we went in with my dog in dismal condition and now are on the road to recovery and undoing the damage that was done the Holistic way. Please stay away from here.

This is the best vet we have ever been to. Over the life of our 3 year old dog we have been to numerous vets. He has allergy issues and we received differing opinions from all vets and nothing was working. We decided to go the holistic route. The first visit was great. The vet actually listened to our dogs full history and took her time figuring out what was wrong with him. A couple weeks previous to this we went to a vet because our dog couldn’t open his eyes. The vet said that he has entropion and would most likely need a $2500+ surgery to fix his eyes. I just didn’t believe this was true because some days his eyes would open and other days it wouldn’t. I really thought it was allergies but that vet wouldn’t listen and went to the most extreme diagnosis. But, the holistic vet was great. She seemed to agree with me that it was allergies since it would come and go. She prescribed some Chinese herbs to put on his food and if that didn’t help she would try different medicine. Within 2-3 days our dogs eyes and other allergy symptoms were fantastic. He’s been the best he’s ever been and has only been on the herbs for a couple weeks. I can’t say enough how great our time at this vet has been. We didn’t walk away with any kind of cognitive dissonance like the other vets we’ve visited. Highly recommend if you want a vet that doesn’t just rush you through and truly cares about the well being of your pet.

The Edmonton Holistic Vet Clinic is nothing less than FANTASTIC! I have been taking my dog there for about 4-5 years. I have seen a few different vets there and they are always so thorough with their examinations. My dog is now 16 years old and she is starting to have failing health. She is diabetic and needs daily insulin. Dr. Jodi was incredibly thorough in dealing with this situation, right from the initial exam to follow up phone conversations. Everything was explained very thoroughly to me and I feel confident going forward that I will be able to manage my dog's health needs. Dr. Jodi (as well as other vets at the clinic) have come to my appointments knowing my dogs history and continue to ask necessary questions to get a full picture of what is going on for her. The vets also work well together. Dr. Jodi discussed my dog's medical needs with our usually vet (Dr. MIller) to get the best treatment plan for my senior dog's needs. I love having herbal options for my dog's health other than just pharmaceuticals. The herbs have been very effective for her needs up to this point. I have found the prices also far more reasonable than I first expected. Pet's can be expensive, but I feel like I get a lot for the money that I spend. Not very happy with service. My cat is a patient here, I called needing help with a torn, split, bleeding nail and reception turned us away. Didn't even try to help. She just said she has to go to the emergency vet even when I stated she just needed it trimmed by a professional and have disinfectant powder for the wound so it doesn't get infected. Reception just said she won't be able to get my cat in until after New Year's. I called Ellerslie Vet who was extremely nice and told me to bring my cat in right away and the vet technician will be able to help my cat and deal with the nail. Why is a vet clinic that I don't even go to more helpful than the clinic where my cat is a patient? Very disappointed with the customer service and care received over the phone. Basically reception was unable and unwilling to help which is completely unacceptable. She barely wanted to here my concern before she was telling me to go to the emergency vet (this nail split does not require emergency vet service and the cost would be way higher) I decided to go here based on the good reviews but I will be switching to Ellerslie Vet.

If you're considering bringing your pet to this clinic, I highly recommend it! Right from the start, the staff here is incredibly friendly, and it's clear that they have a genuine love for animals. This clinic's excellent reputation is well-deserved. After a previous traumatic experience at a different veterinary clinic, I was relieved to have Dr. Jennifer Marshall take care of both of my dogs. One of my dogs was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, and Dr. J went above and beyond. She thoroughly reviewed all of my dog's blood work and ultrasounds, which the previous vet had neglected to do. Dr. J also developed a comprehensive treatment plan. Her dedication to animals and her deep knowledge were evident throughout the process. My other dog is extremely anxious, but Dr. J displayed incredible patience throughout the entire visit. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Jennifer Marshall for her thoughtfulness, kindness, and the invaluable information she provided. Thank you so much to the Edmonton Holistic Vet for their exceptional care.

Dr. Lex has been our doctor for about 5 years now, and he never stops exceeding our expectations! He is very patient, understanding, and really gets to know not only your pet, but you as well. If ever I have had a question or concern he is always happy to discuss over the phone, and advise what steps I can take, and if he feels the need to book an appointment he will always make the time to be able to see my boys. I would highly recommend Dr.Lex, if you are looking for a Vet! I can wholeheartedly promise you will not regret your decision. I don’t want to forget the staff as well.... everyone makes you feel welcome, and right at home. They are always pleasant, and just an over all delight to see, and speak with! The best place you could bring your pet. From the moment you walk in the doors you know you've come to the right place. Each and every staff member here is focused on providing you & your fur baby with the best care possible. As well as getting them back to optimal health. They are very transparent with procedures & costs (if you aren't sure, just ask!). They actually care that your dog gets better. Not to just throw them on a prescription & call it a day. All these lovely women have been there for me & my dog and his plethora of allergies/behavioral issues due to nutrition & anxiety. I can't thank them all enough for their patience, listening & compassion. If your regular vet isn't doing what you need them to do for your family - please rest assured you'll be relieved the moment you come here. EHVC is here to help you & your loved ones. Came in here with my two cats when they were about 5 months old, I was a university student at the time, living on my own, tight on cash. Anyways, while the vet is examining one of the cats, the other tries to make a jump, misses, hits his head, and falls a bit dazed. Quickly, before I could say anything, the vet put a little "sugar pill" on my cat's tongue as a sort of "homeopathic" remedy to this. Found out at the end of the checkup that I was charged ~$80 for this little pill that she popped on his tongue..... The vet did not warn me ahead of time that this was something for which I would be charged. Just plain and morally wrong. I never took my business here again and would NEVER encourage anyone to ever come here. I have found other veterinary clinics to be more honest and transparent with their billing. As well as cheaper.

I cannot rate this clinic high enough. I have been bringing both of my mini dachshunds’, Oliver and Dharma, here for over 10 years and it’s the best decision I have ever made as a pet owner. Dr. Marshall and the rest of the clinic has learned my dogs’ in such a meaningful and intentional way. I have no doubt their treatment and counsel has been the biggest contributor to my dogs’ health and longevity. They are all so caring, nurturing, knowledgeable and calm that my dogs’ actually enjoy their time at the vet. The time spent during each appointment is substantial and you very much leave feeling heard and also having received the most honest and most constructive way forward that always has your pets best interest at heart. I am forever grateful to Dr. Marshall and her team for everything they do for our pets!

My only regret is that I didn’t switch to this clinic years ago. My cavalier doesn’t even know he’s at the vet, any shots, etc. Is all done on a low sofa with a gentle touch. They were able to see me in an emergency situation when my cavalier couldn’t walk up or down stairs (he was two yrs old) which they correctly diagnosed as a pulled muscle. With some acupuncture and massage he was back to himself in a few days. If they had not been able to see me it would have meant a definite overnight stay at guardian - been down that road a few times and of course medicine that he didn’t need. I also like that they don’t push products. I was expecting the holistic vet to be more expensive for a regular visit but that has not been the case. I am so thankful we have this clinic in Edmonton!

I cannot say enough good things about this clinic, first of all Dr Marshall is absolutely amazing so knowledgable and so close to the heart she treats her patients as if they were her own, as well the amount of knowledge with Western and holistic medicine combined you could not find a smarter more complete facility and where. The vet technicians also are very knowledgable helpful and kind, the prices as well are amazing considering all that they do for your pets. I would recommend anyone with an animal that needs care to consult with them first or have a second consultation to get some more ideas as I have said over a dozen people here and all of them have had exceptional experiences. As well the front staff are great and equally knowledgable and helpful.

After a recommendation from a traditional vet for acupuncture, our pup had a consult. During the consult it was casually mentioned that a urinalysis would be done. There was no mention of an additional cost & why this was important (this had just been done at the traditional vet so we weren't inclined to pay for it a second time a week later). Acupuncture was the service we were there for & the urinalysis and herbal medications (that were more harmful than helpful) were pushed but not needed. I appreciate businesses that are upfront and disclose additional costs, but this businesses actions lead me to believe they are more about money than they are about the wellbeing of the animals they treat. Do not recommend.

This veterinary clinic, especially Dr. Jen Marshall, is a breath of fresh air. I have not had good experiences at other vets because their approach is usually a one size fits all and their motto is load every animal up with vaccines regardless of if they need it, or are even at risk for those diseases. Dr. Jen uses common sense and logic along with scientific data to personalize a health plan for your pet. She takes the time to explain things in an easy to understand way and everything she says makes sense! If you are sick of the fear mongering at other vets and want the best for your beloved animals, you will love this place. I highly recommend Edmonton Holistic Vet, 10/10 experience.

This veterinary clinic is AWESOME. Every time we have any concerns they explain to us what is the issue, how we can improve the life of our pets and they provide us with great remedies. We live out of town and whenever we have a situation, I email them and they quickly respond. Charlene and Gina always educate us on the holistic side of things and because of them our bulldogs are healthy and in great shape… I would recommend Edmonton Holistic Vet to anybody that has a pet as they treat the animals like their own. We drive a few hours to bring our dogs here as it is worth the drive and time… thank you for everything you do for our fur babies.

I have seen a variety of different vets here, and they ALL are amazing! We started our journey here to obtain a second opinion when our mini-schnauzer went blind three years ago, and continue with chiropractic, acupuncture and osteopathy for my other mini-schnauzer (who has recovered amazingly from a pinched nerve in his neck and low back tightness). I would highly recommend this clinic, for many reasons...the staff are very caring and compassionate, the vets are very knowledgeable and effective with their treatments, and they have a nice blend of natural and medical approaches. This is the best place to bring your pet, in my opinion!

I have spent over 2 years trying to find a new vet since my vet retired - and I finally found her! Dr. Gina is so amazing with both my dogs - not just her mannerisms with them, but her thoroughness and her desire to help them get better. She is always asking on Kali's progress and has many options on how reduce her pain and increase her quality of life. So grateful for her - my dog acts like she is 5 years younger now! Note that they do western medicine as well as holistic - so they meet all my needs. In addition, the front staff and the techs are fantastic. Very responsive, very kind and helpful.

Edmonton Holistic Vet is the best Vet I have ever been to. It is very clean, warm and relaxing for people but most importantly your pet. I don’t know if dogs care about ambiance but I do, if I am more relaxed my dog will be to. The care received from the front desk staff to the vet is excellent! The care they give to my dog is excellent and I feel very confident in the care they give and direction they give me to help take care of my dog. I like that they are very strong in holistic care and I don’t feel like I am compromising my dogs care one bit! Thanks Edmonton Holistic for be there!

I highly recommend this clinic to everyone! They do so much more than just a regular vet visit. Everytime I have spoke with them or gone there they have gone out of their way to help me in many different ways. Just now I sent them an email about my concern about traveling with our senior cat and they telephoned me right away and we worked out together what we all thought would be best for her regarding traveling. Everytime I speak with them I feel much better and confident after. Thank you so much for caring and going that extra mile! It is very much appreciated! You guys are awesome!

I go there for regular acupuncture for my special needs cat. I see them every month, and have for a year now. After $1000, 6 different vets all telling me to kill the poor kitten I saved... This clinic was the ONLY one to help me, and diagnose her properly. They listened to me and my concerns and gave her the help she needed, as well as a future treatment plan. Dr. Jennifer Marshall is an incredible vet, and my cat who hates everyone even likes her. It is not that much more than a regular vet, holistic medications are less most times as well. They truly care about your pet here.

AMAZING staff! They help my poor cancer riddled dog when everyone wrote him off! He lived a great quality of life for another 7 months. When we helped him cross the rainbow bridge they were amazing and made everything very comfortable for him...they really care about the animals! I just might go there myself! We even received flowers and a hand written condolence card! Again I could be happier with their service and support in helping our dog. The price was 1/3 of what we are used to paying and don't charge for ridiculous visits you don't need.

My dog Gus has been seeing Dr. Marshall since we adopted him in late 2019 and we have had the absolute best experience. She is so thoughtful, kind, informative, and is very gentle and patient with Gus as he is a nervous nelly. There are many vet clinics closer to us but we choose to come here due to the excellent service we receive every time. They do not just push products and services -- they give recommendations based on what your pet needs and their lifestyle. Gus will be a happy patient of Dr. Marshall as long as she is practicing :)

Had a great experience with Dr Miller and her clinical team through an awful chapter with our boy Copper who was diagnosed with an advanced soft tissue sarcoma, a dermal cancer. While my boy did pass recently, between the acupuncture and holistic supplements he kept eating and active till 2 days before he lost his battle. Dr Miller was realistic and offered great perspective on things we could be doing to help our boy in his time of need ensuring his final chapter was a quality of life worth living.

I had heard from others about their positive experiences at EHV, but in a time of uncertainty and of social distancing requirements, I had held off for a while before coming here. But our cat didn't want to wait any longer and I made the appointment...and well...Dr. Marshall is amazing! I felt rest assured that I had made the right decision within the first few minutes of chatting with her and she provided the perfect mix of Western and Eastern Medicine. Before going to Edmonton holistic veterinarian services we were told our dog has allergies. We fed him what the vet suggested and more, to no avail. Tye had signs of allergic reactions such as bumps all over his body and excessive licking! After seeing Dr. Marsden our dog has a healthy coat, no allergies, he eats everything now and the licking has almost stopped! All this in less than a month! I highly recommend this vet! They truly care about owner and dog. Thank you for caring.

Wonderful experience. I have a senior dog (15 year old Jack Russel) who was having trouble weight bearing on one of her legs. We tried several options with our normal vet that didn't work. After one treatment of chiropractic and acupuncture at the holistic vet, she was walking just fine. Since then, we have been back a few times for follow-up and she had more energy and confidence each time. Thanks to them I know we'll have many more years with our little old lady. Thank you

Dr. Bardyeyev is amazing. He is so patient and kind. He never rushes an appointment, and takes the time to make sure our dog gets everything he needs to live a long happy life. Our dog is 18 years old, and he would not be in such great shape if it wasn’t for Dr. Bardyeyev and the herbs he has prescribed for him. His knowledge of the different holistic treatments available is incredible. When traditional medicine can’t help, I suggest you try this clinic.

We contact the Holistic vet when we were told that our miniature dash hound had to have a 8000 to 12000 dollar surgery, they gave us no guarantee but due to their great care our dog did not need surgery, they are very welcoming and do check up on progress through treatment, they listen to your concerns and give you options of care to choose from, highly recommend this clinic, thank you for your great attention to our Tika, it is greatly appreciated

Wanted a more holistic approach that my new puppy Rupert would actually enjoy going to the Vet rather than being scared. We've been a few times for his initial checkups and a few other issues and it's like going to the park or somewhere. He absolutely loves going here. He's had acupuncture, other shots, and since I get to be in the room with him and their approach is so calm and natural, he is never afraid. Highly recommend.

Not a client, but they provided a very easy soothing experience when I was there with my Girlfriend and her Mom to put down our girl, Jazz. They made the best of the experience. There was no wait. We went straight to the room where it was already made comfortable for us. The vet and assistant were very respectful of our space, while also being courteous and informative. Thank you for making the best of a difficult time.

Don't book their so-called "nutrition" consultation. They know nothing that you probably haven't already read online, and then they charge you an arm and a leg to refer you to a website, a huge ripoff and money I could not afford to waste. Please stop offering this service as a "service",when you're not even a board certified nutritionist. False advertising, just preying on owners wanting to do their best for their pet.

This is, by far, the best veterinary clinic in Edmonton. My cat, Jack, has had some medical problems lately and unfortunately saw multiple different vets before I found the Holistic Clinic. He’s a bit traumatized from all his vet visits and Dr. Marshall and the staff at the clinic actually took the time to ensure he was comfortable and not overly stressed. They care about the comfort of your pet.

Dr. Lex has been wonderful with our cats. Through hip dysplasia, diabetes, severe viral infections, & mouth disorders. An interesting combination of mainstream & alternative medicine. He never gives up on new things to try. I trust him & always feel more reassured leaving about my furry girls. The front reception are friendly & always deal efficiently with getting out pet insurance submitted.

One of the most caring, calming clinics I’ve ever taken my dogs to. Wonderful staff, great vets, they believe in raw feeding and encourage it and they have great chocolates. Oh yes, the waiting room atmosphere is wonderful too, and they have the world renowned vet Dr Steve Marsden and his wife who is also a highly respected vet. Shorty and Punkin love it there

Very good place to bring your pet. The veterinarian took his time and was very helpful to both my cat and myself as well. He answered all my questions and was very knowledgable and respectful to both my cat and I. I will forever be bringing my cat here as the staff have a love for animals and treat everyone's pets with affection and respect.

The vets here are extremely knowledgeable and honest. Unlike other vets, they always have great advice and they don’t make you do loads of unnecessary tests. I love that they incorporate both Holistic and Western medicine and even acupuncture! I wish I took my pets here a long time ago. Highly recommend! Wouldn’t take my pets anywhere else.

Storm needed to see a doctor about some minor issues and to have his vaccinations updated. We booked a traditional vet appointment while we investigate the holistic options. Jennifer was WONDERFUL with Storm he even let her take blood so we could check his vaccinations and nutrient levels. We have found our regular doctor for Storm.

Best vet I've ever used. My dog had multiple health issues, some very serious. With their advice and help he did really well for a long, long time. At the end of his long life Dr Marshall gave informed and compassionate advice, and all the staff made that last day calm and bearable for him and for me. Can't rate them high enough.

Dr. Marshall took excellent care of my dog. I initially went for acupuncture for anxiety and liked her so much I kept going for other things and my dog even had minor surgery in the clinic. The staff are wonderful and were always accommodating of my dogs need for space from other dogs. I would definitely recommend this clinic.

Favorite vet in Alberta! We have moved around the province from Wainwright to Calgary over the years and we still continue to bring our dog here for the best care. I'be been to several others in the places we have lived and we still love EHS the best and recommend all our friends to bring their furry loved ones here too!

Best service (from docs and reception), pricing, information, advice I've seen or experienced. Anywhere. Ever. Not all about the money, actually about providing best possible care for your animals. Have also seen multiple docs* in the clinic and always get in within a reasonable timeline. Flipping love these guys.

Dr. Marshall and all the staff are truly exceptional. The doctors here definitely prolonged our dogs life with the use of herbs and acupuncture. Dr. Marshall went above and beyond in caring for our dog in her final days. We are forever grateful for the wonderful care and compassion we received here.

A veterinary experience like no other, my two dogs felt at ease right from when we walked in the door not to mention myself. Intuitive Doctor and staff are very knowledgeable in western and eastern medicine for the best possible care for your family members. Highly recommend to see for yourself!

After struggling with some serious health issues with our 6 year old cat Leela and a very expensive emergency vet visit we took Leela to see Dr. Lex. Dr. Lex is amazing he is so patient and kind with our grumpy girl, he has helped us manage her condition and he truly cares about her health.

Can't say enough positive things about Edmonton Holistic Vet. My 13 year old kitty has never been so calm at the vet, and Dr. Lex and the wonderful tech's are to thank. I'm actually looking forward to our next appointment instead of dreading it, knowing my boy is in such great hands now.

I have not brought my puppies in yet however I would 10/10 recommend!!! The service on my calls here was outstanding and they took the time to answer my questions, give me clarity and made me feel welcome. I am booking here going forward as I feel I can fully trust them with my babies!

Weve been taking our dogs here for many years. They are more through than even our regular vet. They have helped our senior dogs arthritis. She is approaching 13 and is still active after 2 leg surgeries. Which is largely due ton the care provided by the vets here. Highly reccomend
