I’m not a boujee gal by nature. I’m far more relaxed when people aren’t putting on a show. At some hair salons I feel like I’ve worn my pj’s to the Oscars, like I’m not cool enough to be there. This salons main goal is to provide high quality hair and beauty care at a sustainable price. Prices that are affordable enough to the point where you can keep coming back. And by coming back, I believe they mean more than once a year. Now that’s a pretty serious statement, it almost sounded to good to be true! I’m used to breaking the bank on my hair, loving what they’ve done, yet knowing it’s financially impossible to come in for the recommended touch ups every 6 weeks or so. I then resort to letting my hair grow out, doing the root touch ups myself, eventually wearing hats and detouring around the salon, so I don’t have to wave through the window and feel embarrassed! Emerald Hair & Beauty are true to their word. I’m so glad I gave them a try. There is no where else I’d go to have my hair done now. All of the staff are genuinely kind. You can tell it’s not a put on. The salon has a super relaxed yet completely professional vibe. I had the pleasure of being booked with Kevin. He’s completely down to earth and relatable. He loves what he does and you can tell. If you’re in the mood to chat and laugh, you’ll have a brilliant time with him! Yet he takes your cues if you feel to be quiet, relax and just zone out. Kevin genuinely listened to what I was hoping for and then he took the time to chat about how we could achieve what I wanted. He has so much experience and integrity that he’s not a stylist that’ll just say “no problem, let’s do it!” Kevin is fantastic at explaining how certain aspects of your hair need to be taken into consideration for the style and colour you want. Such as the texture of your hair, the length of your hair, its pre-existing colour and the health that it’s currently in. That being said, he will certainly give you what you wanted, it’ll just end up being far better than you could have ever imagined! (No, I’m not remotely exaggerating) His skills, personality, natural intuition & ability to connect with you are wonderful. For 20 yrs I’ve wanted a certain fairly mild layer through my hair because it’s thin. No stylist has ever been able to achieve it. On my first appointment with Kevin, I left with the exact layer I’d always wanted. I was in absolute shock & delight. The entire team are really kind. Making appointments can easily be done on line or by phone. It’s a warm & welcoming experience from beginning to end. I can’t speak for the other hair stylists work. Though I do know every time I’ve been there, each stylist is with a client. You can look up their bio’s on their website. The best part is that I can actually afford to come back when I need to!! I leave with amazing hair and feeling genuinely happy. Do yourself a massive favour and head over to Emerald Hair and Beauty! You won’t leave disappointed.

I can't say enough how hard it is to find a good hair salon with a stylist that actually understands what the customer is asking for and I haven't been disappointed with Kevin at Emerald ☺️ im the type of person who's too polite to say my hairs not right or I say to myself "yerra in week or so itl be grow and be grand" . Since I started seeing Kevin I was always left fully satisfied and only delighted with how my hair looks. Kevin completely understands me and what my vision for what I look for in my hair cuts. I'm always warmly greeted by the front desk with a smile (precovid) and in more recent times with genuine warm words. During this pandemic they have also been unreal with personal protective equipment that I feel 100% safe while getting a service. The bang for your buck is also huge! I recommend Emerald to any of my friends who ask about hair dressers and everyone of them has been over the moon with there end result! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐☘️

Really great! I’ve recently moved to Leslieville and have been looking for a new hairstylist. I went to Emerald on Tuesday and had my hair cut by Marina. The whole experience was great, but when I got home I wasn’t 100% happy with my cut. I have finicky hair and it wasn’t laying quite how I’d like. I decided to give it a day to let it settle a bit. The next day I still wasn’t happy, so I called to ask if I could come back in to get it fixed. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful and booked me in for today (Thursday). I kind of expected to go in, have her quickly lop off a few bits and send me on my way. But, Marina really took the time to make it right and I’m absolutely thrilled with my new cut, no extra charge. I will definitely be coming back and would recommend to anyone looking for an excellent stylist.

I visited Emerald Hair & Beauty for the first time last week. I saw Lisa for a lash lift and tint and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I have had this service done before, but at a different salon. I had contacted Emerald Hair & Beauty several days before my booking and they promptly responded and answered my questions. The experience with Lisa was fabulous. She was friendly, knowledgeable and skilled. I had zero discomfort during the procedure and actually may have fallen asleep briefly because I was so relaxed. The tint is amazing, but honestly the lift is flawless - I have never had such a great lash lift before. I will 100% be back again!

Had my hair cut two weeks ago by a stylist at Emerald and have to say I was VERY disappointed!!! Not only did he not bother cutting in a full fringe like we had discussed, I was then rushed out as his next client had arrived. I did not feel I was able to mention he had 'forgotten' the whole point of the hair cut so I just left the salon. $70 lighter, no fringe and now on top of everything, I need to go get it recut as all my spit ends are back. Showing that even the little that was done was done extremely poorly!! I had heard such great things about this salon but left upset and annoyed at the service. I will not be referring this salon on to others!

I needed an updo for a wedding I'm attending tonight and Karina did an amazing job! I have really fine thin hair but she made me look like I had the most beautiful voluminous hair! Then as we chatted I realized they also do makeup and Lisa had an opening right after my hair appt. I didn't have any photos to explain what I wanted but shared a vision - summer wedding, focus on the eyes, glamorous but not too much makeup. And she did that but way better than I imagined even. I'm so impressed with both professionals. It was my first time, but it goes without saying I'll be back!

I am so glad I found Emerald Hair & Beauty. Lisa is always friendly and makes me feel welcome, and always goes the extra mile. Kevin is the best hairdresser! He is friendly, kind and very knowledgeable. He offers advice and guidance, but even more importantly, he does an amazing job with my hair colour and haircuts. The measures they have in place for Covid-19 make me feel very safe there. I cannot recommend this place enough!!!!!!!

I came to this salon after having a bad experience (highlights/colour) in a different salon. I wasn't sure how they were going to fix it but Michelle was great, she and another stylist, Dusty, discussed different options and she listened to everything I said, I'm really happy with the result! I also got a classic set of eyelash extensions with Michelle. I love them! Really nice salon and reasonable prices!

I visited Emerald Hair and Beauty for a balayage appointment with Kevin, and I was so impressed. He was very attentive and made sure to ask questions about what I was looking for, and was kind enough to make recommendations. He did such a great job with my colour and was so friendly as well. Definitely the same quality of work as the pricier places, but with more reasonable prices and friendlier service.

I've been bringing my two children to Emerald Hair and Beauty since they opened last year. Lee has been cutting their hair and does a phenomenal job. He's a highly-skilled barber who pays close attention to detail. Each of their cuts has been absolute perfection. Upon the salon's reopening, we felt 100% safe and it is clear how much the staff cares about their clients.

I love this salon. Michelle saved my fried hair after another stylist bleached it to near-ruin, and I've never been happier with my colour and highlights. Also thrilled with my latest haircult. Prices are reasonable, and since reopening during COVID, they are being diligent about adhering to safety protocols. You cannot go wrong with this amazing neighbourhood salon.

I've been to Emerald Hair & Beauty a few times after being recommended by a friend. Their staff are always welcoming, warm and diligent. I had Kevin for my last hair cut and he did exactly what I wanted, I was blown away after struggling for years to find a hair stylist who understood my vision. As well, the prices are very fair for the neighbourhood!

Just visited Emerald Hair Salon yesterday. My daughter got an amazing pedicure and I got my hair cut by Kevin. He is such a fun guy - and gave me the best haircut and style I have ever had! My daughter felt completely spoiled and is thrilled with the results. Going to be returning whenever I am back in Toronto visiting my daughter.

Great cut, great chat, great value. Just moved into the neighbourhood and went for a cut with Kevin and will definitely be coming back. Very laidback vibe, and got exactly what I was looking for. Kevin consulted me on what I was thinking, I showed him a picture of what I was looking for and he nailed it.

I've been here a few times after following my stylist Dusty. The salon is newly renovated, clean and cozy and the staff seems friendly. Dusty is a true gem and hair professional, never going to see anyone else, highly recommended for all types of hair. He will 100% help you reach all your hair goals!

Had my hair cut and coloured on Saturday by Kevin and I’ve never received so many compliments. Kevin took care to work with me on exactly what I wanted, he had a great personality and the prices are around what you would expect (not expensive for what you get). Highly recommend!

I've recently moved to the area and was in search of a new salon. I absolutely love my cut and colour from Kevin and will most definitely be returning. It was also great value compared to other salons that I have tried in the area. Very clean and following face mask rules etc.

They cancelled on me same day and said it was because the stylist I booked was ill however I did not chose a stylist on booking,I chose the “any stylist” option because website advised it would be better to get a sooner appointment.
