Even though this park is beside the noisy groat road bridge, it is very quiet and peaceful. Its surrounded by a golf course (west), the river (north) and the upscale and calmly neighborhood of Windsor park (south and south east). The University of Alberta is only a few minutes walk away so a lot of students come here to relax. This is a nice venue to have a barbecue and lets the children burn some energy running around. However, their playground is extremely small. I'm sure the city of edmonton could have made it bigger and more attractive by adding more activities on it so kids don't get bored so quickly. All in all, its a decent getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Playground
Tiny
Picnic area
Very large picnic area with plenty of benches and standup bbq grills

Beautiful park, I've spent several long, long days there in the past week, the park is conveniently down the hill from the U of A and only 7 minute drive from the Cross Cancer Center, a place I've had to drop off a loved one early in the morning and pick up again in the evening. This park has beautiful pathways, shade and sun, washrooms and a running tap, making it a great place to become a park hobo if you're in town with no money and no place to go. If anyone saw a girl sitting in a willow tree from July 5-10th that was me, thanks for letting me crash in such a beautiful spot during such a hard time. Edmonton you are a beautiful city and I hope to visit more often in better circumstances

This is a beautiful park for a pic nic and the trails and landscaping are fabulous. It is advertised as boat launch however after the renovations I would say there is no boat launch. There is a very nice oath down the river east to get your canoe or kayak to but the dock has been removed and it is steep and very rocky. Not just rocky but you must climb down boulders then pull your boat down over the big rocks. A nice launch pad would be an awesome idea

Usually just cutting though this park to paths along the river and on the hills. There are a number of picnic tables, fire pits, and a playground. A little bit of stuff for a friend or family outing. And the paths connecting to the parks on either side offer fantastic nature like walks and views that are just awesome. There are also some somewhat hidden paths that take you right up near the river that can offer some nice picnic spots.

The park is very well maintained. A few of us gathered to celebrate a birthday. We used their bbq thingies. We were there on a Wednesday at about 2 pm and it wasn't too busy. There were some adorable squirrels that came to visit. Tons of parking!
Dog-friendliness
It is a dog friendly park, but keep those canines leashed! ❤️
Picnic area
It was very clean, and the lawn was freshly cut.

Beautiful little park with Picnic tables and Stoves to cook your food for Gatherings. Some Open Fire pits 1 on each end of the Park,There's a Big Camp style kitchen up by the Washrooms and also a Little park for the children. There are many Connections for Trails to Hawerlark park along the River and also a Trail to Kinsmen Sport Center, Boat launch for Rafts near the Groat rd bridge.

Love this park. As part of the longest urban parkway in North America it is a great place to enjoy a walk in the trees and other amenities. There are picnic tables and fire places to enjoy. There are trails all through the park to enjoy. Some trails lead right up to the University of Alberta. It’s a great park and I will definitely come back again and recommend this park.

Awesome ride today,... Perfect walking, or riding weather. People seemed a little "on edge", today for some reason, (Maybe I'm just a jerk-lol : ). I can't say I saw a lot of masked people other than myself. Hope people are not letting their guard's down too early and ruin any progress gained by us all practicing safe distancing protocol for the last 4 months?

  • Sara Ouellette

Beautiful accessible area. Plenty of trails and amazing nature to experience. Trails leading towards U of A from here have one area that is not very accessible friendly, I have it in the photographs. Weird incline that can be a bit muddy but other than that 20m-50m stretch it's lovely and nice and easy to manage.
Restrooms
Very clean and accessible

I love walking or biking here. It’s like an Oasis in the middle of the city. This photo is taken from High Level Bridge looking back at Emily Murphy Park on the left. The city and Victoria Park to the right. Lots of free parking. Well maintained washrooms which sometime comes in handy after a long walk and hydrating the whole way. The best of Edmonton.

  • Kyle Passamare

Great place to have a fire. Lots of individual picnic sites available with small wood burning grills. There’s are two fire pits available, one with seating provided. Bathrooms are on site and there is a shelter with an abundance of picnic tables. Situation nice and central in Edmonton with close access to trails and the river valley.

So many places around here to pop into and explore. Great place for kids, and very relaxing! We took the family there for the float ride, but they had double booked, and our float was gone by the tome we got there. That's the only reason for not getting 5 stars. Disappointing, but we had a great day anyway!

  • Shamas Arshad

Excellent place for outdoor activities. Particularly with kids whole Family can play and enjoy. There are lots of BBQ bars that can be use for Summer sizzling. Park is well maintained and grass is lush green. Parking area needs little bit attention. Otherwise great park in the university neighborhood.

  • Daniel Keates

I loved the canopied picnic site. Parks staff was there before and after to check the site and clean up. Beautiful large old trees, lots of seating space and a well kept public washroom. Perfect for large gatherings and lots of space for kids to play in the fields or playground.

  • M Chahal

I helped to arrange an end of the year farewell and Emily Murphy Park was perfect. Ample parking, middle of the city, and lots of space so we could ensure physical distancing measures. As well the picnic area allowed us to have a perfect spot for farewell speeches.

This is a great location for picnics & BBQs. You also get a lovely view of the North Saskatchewan River There are public washrooms & waste-bins for easy disposal of garbage. You can also easily access the river if you are interested in canoeing or kayaking.

  • Forest Littke

picnicking and great stairs as well as a great view of the north Saskatchewan river. The incline hill starting from the statue is near 45 degrees and offers a great cardio challenge plus the steps back to the park gives a 15 minute circuit workout.

  • Lenard Ames

This is a great park. I love being able to get into the river valley easily from downtown. There are places to sit, lots of happy people, and a great set of stairs for cardiovascular workouts. Another amazing place in Edmonton's river valley.

  • Bruce Labatiuk

As I road through the park on my ebike I likened it to a the days when I'd ride horseback in the country the fall colors of the leaves are spectacular this time of the year. The air is sweet and the cool breeze feels as if it is kissing my

I like to go here and walk in the spring, summer, and autumn. I see families and all sorts of groups of folks picnicking on the lawns. There is wonderful shade in the summertime and are lovely views of the river along the walking /biking

  • Manda Lavoie

My friend pans for gold on the corner on the River Valley at this park. When the water levels are low this place has a nice little beach area where you can go gem stone hunting. I found Jasper, Amethyst, Citrine and petrified wood here.

  • Keysha Buckley-Anderson

Beautiful family friendly park! Lots of tables to eat at for picnics, a pool to swim at. Neat statues to look at, 2 attached parks for your kids to play on and a very cool circular looking indoor washroom!

  • April Tetz

Really nice walking trails. On leash pathways for your pup. Trails go different directions so there is lots of places to explore. This is a popular park so I feel very safe walking and biking in this area.

  • Rayne-Anne Latchford Oosterveld

This is one of my favorite Edmonton parks. There's a beautiful walking path and lots of picnic tables with fire place/cookers. It's normally not too busy. And they have a full service washroom on site.

  • Marvan Family

Love Silver Fox trail for single tracking. Then go back to the top (near entrance of the park) and head across the road for 6 Shooter and Ray Gun. Also good place to launch your canoe near the bridge.

  • Colby

Great place to go walking along the river or to have a nice family picnic. The river is always nice to be beside and there is a good amount of parking. The washrooms are full service which is great!

  • Chris Anderson

A beautiful park for a walk, run or a picnic close to the river. Went for a 5km hike and it was amazing can't wait for the next hike. Definitely recommend for folks looking to get outside.

  • Trevor Beck

If you have young kids, this is the best park in town. Small toboggan hill means little ones can walk up themselves, fire pits nearby and heated washrooms - great for a winter day!

  • Ranava

Nice park, small and well looked after. Don't go to that city parks as I live in the country, this was our first time and was impressed!
Restrooms
Restrooms were clean!

  • Eric Roberts

Great park with lots of parking, tree covered open spaces and great trails along the river! Also is very accessible to the river and a good starting point to float down it.

  • Shaun Kessler

A decent put in or take out for paddling trips. Changes due to Grout Bridge work haven't had much effect. Parking, access and drop off/pick up are okay when it's not busy.

  • Julia Davis

Wonderful nature, places for picnics and barbecues, children's playgrounds, comfortable benches. A quiet park area with a beautiful view of the river and the city. More

  • Craig Coley

Pleasant and shaded park. Surrounded by gorgeous trees. Has a few fire pit areas. And a few cooking/eating huts within the park. Also some free standing wood bbqs.

  • Dan Dromarsky

Its different. Its a place that has nothing but yet something. Boat launch, playground, paths for walking, picnic areas but yet…… not a whole lot more than that.

  • Patricia

This place is ALWAYS a hit! Tables, firepits, and, if you're lucky, a view of the river valley from your site. It's a beautiful place to walk, too. Cheers.

  • Abisaac Saraga

Great open space to have a family gathering. Really small playground so have lots of open space activities planned like frisbee and soccer.

  • Kyla Hermary

This is such an underappreciated little park. Close to the water, many picnic sites available, and there is easy access to the river.

  • Daylynn Rivard

Nice outside went for an evening picnic. There were fire pits to cook on and picnic tables. Dogs were on leashes. Very nice
