"We were here for the 2018 Folk Fest"
"Amazing huge open park with picnic tables and play structures"
"Great park in the river valley of Edmonton"
"This the park that features folk fest annually; however not this year"
"This place is like next to a snow hill dude"
We were here for the 2018 Folk Fest. Always a fun time! The hill was fortunately greener than some years (thanks to a steady supply of rain this summer), and the weather was sunny and hot, so getting up and down the hill was not a dusty or muddy or slippery affair (though, because of the heat, it did make me huff and puff). The hill was also fairly good to sit on, with just a blanket between us and the ground. (Sitting on the hill becomes an uncomfortable experience for long periods though. Maybe one year, we'll remember to take cushions or lawn chairs). The performances were all excellent, of course. No complaints there. The middle screen closest to us kept malfunctioning though, although they did get it to work mostly well, most of the time. And the amenities, port-o-potties, food -- everything else at the Fest was a-okay. We had a good time!
Amazing huge open park with picnic tables and play structures. Plenty of grassy fields on quiet roads. Perfect place to bring you family for a picnic with dogs and small children. Not busy either, we were the only people there
Playground
A good looking playground. Didn't test it in my old age but lots structures and swings etc
Restrooms
Standard outbuildings, well maintained.
Dog-friendliness
It's not what I would describe as an offleash place, but we had our lkttle doggo with us mixed off and on leash and it was very relaxed. Obviously clean up after them and all seems to be well.
Picnic area
Nicely covered gazebo type area with a few picnic tables in the shade. Located beside the playground, and the big open field.
Great park in the river valley of Edmonton. Gallagher Park is well known in Edmonton because it is where the world famous Edmonton Folk Music Festival is held. But that’s just a few days a year. The rest of the year there is a great park to explore and experience. This park is very nice. There is a playground and a spray park also. There is an outdoor hockey rink for winter fun. During the summer it is used as a dog run. There is also the Cloverdale Community League Hall. Overall this is a great park. There are picnic benches and benches for seating. There is a porta potty for the washroom break that might be needed.
This the park that features folk fest annually; however not this year. The park is big and open; located on Riverdale across from the Bennett center. The playground features a play place and spray park. The spray park is active this year. There is parking in front of the park and more adjacent to the park across the street from the houses. Park is busy and full of young children, so please drive for the conditions. Park is also safe; I've visited in the morning and evening, and have never encountered vulnerable or homeless camps. Please clean up after yourself, and don't littler. Thanks.
This place is like next to a snow hill dude. I was like sitting there one day thinking man wouldn't that be fun to sneak in and slide... But then...I I noticed to the left..theirs like this wow man free land and its like 9 holes on a steep add hill. But like for the price dude waking up it... narly jumps man... narly. Also like if you just go man... just go man...its like so cool becus you got the city view...awe man ....its so cool . Bring a sled. Maybe a helmet... maybe sign a waiver pending this icy side u go... nevermore be safe. Ride homes.
I took my boys sledding for an hour here and wow what a ride! It's a massive hill fairly steep. I wouldn't recommend it for toddlers though as the bigger kids wipe out uncontrollably. Absolutely beautiful area of the city. Lots of room for street parking and because of limited access coming from Bonnie Doon it wasn't that busy. I would definitely recommend this place to just view. Nothing fancy just an outside hill.
Great park! Excellent for tobogganing in the winter or hanging out and having a picnic with an epic city view. Came here and ran a 400ft long slip and slide the other day with a water truck. There's a lot you can do on a fun hill like this one! Just make sure to clean up after yourself, whatever you do! Keep the place as pretty as it was when you got there
This is a great place to help remind you that there actually is a lot of green space in Edmonton. It's got cross city views, lots of seated (or seeded) space, and there is a decent amount of parking available depending on where you're coming from. Check it out throughout the year and you'll get a very different view each season. Beautiful part of Edmonton!
There's all the great stuff mentioned in the other reviews. Things less likely to have been mentioned yet is it's one of the few parks in Edmonton that has a porta potty there all year round. The curved road along one side of the park is good for hill intervals if you're a runner. Especially in the winter, as it's plowed and doesn't have much traffic
We went taboggaining here for family day, was a great hill. Very big hill more suited for older kids wanting a fast ride. Was not very busy which was nice. Wish they was more of a designated place to walk up the hill as a couple times my boys had to bale because they didnt see kids walking up the middle of the hill.
Great park in it's own right, not just as the site of the Edmonton Folk Music Festival. There's a really nice playground and spray park, located beside Cloverdale Hall. The Hall is well appointed, modern, and comfortable for meetings and gatherings. There's an out door ice rink as well, but I have not skated there.
Best sledding hill in Edmonton! I have so many great memories here. Super fun family environment with gorgeous views of the city, a playground and skating rink at the base of the hill. We sure appreciated the port a potty that the community league provided too. What a gorgeous day. …
Great park. It has a playground, spray park, community league building, skating rink, and a good toboggan hill. It is also right beside the Edmonton Ski Club. Decent amount of parking in the area and walking distance from the Muttart Conservatory and the Bennett Center.
Another great year at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival. Great music, food, people. A big shout out to the volunteers, who make this festival thrive. Ben Harper who closed Sunday night was AMAZING!!!! as were the other performers. …
Big , amazing and fun park. I would love to be able to use the water park! But Covid won't let us. There is a big open field that you can play anything , parking spots just outside the park. Your kid will love it and grown ups too.
Went to the Folk Festival and as normal it was a great day for music, weather could have been better. Pack a spare lung or leg to walk up the hill.......lols Support the Festival it is rated as the best in Canada …
AKA Connors hill - probably the best sledding hill in Edmonton, very long and steep though, always someone getting hurt here - helmets are a good idea. Adults and children will love it. Also a decent outdoor rink here.
One of the best views of the city skyline is from the Gallagher hill. This is an expansive park blending in with Edmonton Ski Club in the Cloverdale neighborhood. Epic spot for hanging out or fitness/recreation.
Home of Edmonton's Folk Fest each year. The sloped hills offer a gorgeous view of the downtown area. Granted I've only been here for Folk Fest, I'm sure it would be a lovely area for a walk or a picnic.
Its an awesome park. I visited it for the 2016 Edmonton folk music fest, and I totally loved it. You have a great view of Edmonton's downtown, and a great open space to get in touch with nature
This park is an amazing location for Folk Fest every year. Listening to amazing music on the hill, city scape in the background and sun setting over the stage. It is an unreal experience.
As an Edmonton photographer I find Gallagher Park to have THE BEST views of Downtown Edmonton. It is a little bit tricky to access but it is totally worth it for the sunset view.
One of Edmonton's most famous parks as host of the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, it's a great spot the hang out in the sun, hang glider, fly your drone, or toss a frisbee.
An awesome spray park, what more could you ask for? Fine. It also has a fun little park with nice playground equipment. Lots of green space and an ice rink in the winter.
Really nice playground, includes a sanded area and a rubber one for younger kids. Plus a small spraypark. Lots of sitting and picnic tables. Plus big trees for shade
Love the park for folk fest and the rest of the year as well! A beautiful area in Edmonton and close to accidental beach and some gorgeous river valley trails!
Me and my friends hangout here a tonne (with masks of course) , it's a blast whether you are just hanging out. Playing basketball or biking, it's a good time.
Really nice area. The Hills are a lot of fun to sled down and the area is nice if you just wanted to go for a walk. Everyone should visit here at least once.
Food was great and the service was the best. They are doing so rental so you have to know where you are going. But in a short time it will be just like new.
Great little park. Includes a splash park, playground, noted there was a Porta potty. Picnic benches and a gazebo. Also, a rink for wintertime activities.
Beautiful view of the city from the top. Wonderful park to bring your dog for a walk. Also great for family with kids, since they have a playground.
Even though the near by LRT is under construction, it's still a wonderful place to start mtb single Trackin in the river valley. It's very central.
great picnic spot. lots of areas to sit and chill. garbage cans available to dispose any food waste or animal waste as it is a pet friendly park.
Gorgeous and wonderful venue for the folk fest. It feels so secluded and cozy while accommodating heaps of people. Amazing views of the city!!
Really good sledding hill; they do have a skating rink as well. Unfortunatelty they did not have the lights on but still a great experience
Love the downtown views from this park. Night view of downtown is amazing and there's even a few benches for you to sit for your date night
Too crowded. Came here for some R&R and quiet contemplation, but I'm surrounded by hippie folkies! What kinda park is so busy and noisey?!
I was harassed by a drunk security guard at the folk festival for having my umbrella out in the rain. Worst festival experience of my life
This is a great park. I don't know what else to say, open spaces, lots of grass, a great place for dogs (but don't bring your dogs here).
Loved it. Was a great hill to go sledding on. My kids definitely had a blast and want to keep going more and more to this park …
Edmonton folkfest is a must for any Edmontonian or visitor a like. Great music and chill vibes. Best example of the community of Edmonton
Best place to go sledding with kids (and adults too) during winters, have a go in this wide and high hill near the Muttart Conservatory
This is a doozy in the winter. Coming down the big hill on a saucer is insane as an adult male, people don't think about the velocity.
The Folk Festival is an amazing find for anyone/family. Great talent just amazing view of the city while listening to great tunes.
Fantastic little gem in Edmonton's river valley. Water park, lovely views, kid's playground, rec building, beautiful gardens.
Unreal speed on a sales of you love speed this is the hill to go down. After you go up and down 5 times your pretty beat. Lol
A park with everything. Ski hills in the winter. Festivals in the summer. Community league hall, spray park and playground.
A great park with the normal swings and playsets, as well as a splash pad for summer and a huge toboggan hill in winter.
While the annual Folk Fest is the highlight of the summer, the park features one of Edmonton's premier toboggan hills.
Good park with a nice hill, folk fest every year in August great place in the winter too for sledding with the hill.
Even though only I went to this place, I recommend you come to here with yours. It may make kissing each other lol
Great tobogganing hill in the winter, but can be very fast on the west side. I flipped over and landed on my face.
Last bit of snow for beginner snowboarding lessons, not for long but Edmonton Ski Club is still looking great!
Amazing scenery of the Edmonton skyline at night. Also a quiet space to reflect and go for a short stroll.
Great park with splash park and porta potty in summer and an ice rink and large sledding hill in winter.
I had a lovely picnic with a lovely lady. With a really beautiful hilltop view that overlooks the city.
Great place to show new ppl wanting to learn how 2 snowboard before throwing them on a ski hill …
I was at the park for Edmonton Folk Music Festival. Amazing time, a must do when you're in Edmonton.
Fantastic place to toboggan, but not for the feint of heart- you can really rocket down that hill
Great park. Big hill, lots of open space, good place for a kite. Playground and spray park too.
Great venue for the Folk Festival, Blue Rodeo this year closed Saturday the 10th, great show.
Folk fest is the best time to be there if you can. For me it's the best weekend of the summer
Spray deck provides relief after mountain biking for a few hours, clean area, not too busy.
Edmonton Fok Music Festival, one of the best, if not the best music festivals in Edmonton.
Great city views of the Muttart conservatory and city skyline. Fun sledding for family.
Spectacular night at Folkfest 2022. Gallagher Park never disappoints for this activity
Gallagher Park is fantastic because it's the home of the Edmonton Folk Music Festival!
Beautiful park of Edmonton city. We love to bike this place during summer and autumn.
Always enjoy that Park peaceful surroundings and the smell of the roses are beautiful
Love going to this park. It's beautiful and very peaceful if you go in the morning
Absolutely love the trails in the river valley. Always a must for.my family and I
Spray park is really nice. Playground has equipment for little kids and big kids.
Gorgeous location, had an awesome time there with Folk Fest. 100% would go again
Nice quiet park and even has a small spray park as well for the hit summer days
Great area but the hills are steep when your trying to get around for folk fest
Love this park! Went on a perfect night! Big hill and dogs love this park !
Great place. Hills are big but rooms of free space to do whatever you want.
Great park in the center of Edmonton. Perfect location for music festival.
Great park with spray park. Really nice residents. Couldn't ask for more.
Beautiful place and an amazing venue for the Edmonton Folk Music Festival
FolkFest is always an amazing experience and the highlight of my summer.
The Edmonton Folk Music Festival on Gallaher Patk hill is back in 2022.

Very nice park. Fantastic views of the city from the top of the hill!
We had a wonderful day in here last week with the family tobogganing.
Great park, went for a kids Birthday and they all had a great time.
Has a great little kids park and nice open Hillside for kite flying
Great for tobogganing and skiing. Slope is just right for all ages
Edmonto Folk Festival Site. Awesome enertainment with great views.
