I've been coming to this branch for many years now (almost every weekend) and I just love the place. All the managers throughout the years have been great people with fantastic customer service skills. The current manager, Payton, is probably the best this branch has ever had. I like how he's always ready to listen to his customers. If you have any problems, this guy will listen to you and make sure they're fixed. Even when I move to a different neighborhood in Austin, I might still come to this location to rent a car. All the agents at the counter are nice and friendly. They try their best to accommodate your needs and get you a car as fast as possible. Because of the video work I do, I travel a lot and need a car with a huge trunk for my large equipment. And the people at this branch are always willing to go out of their way to get me a suitable car. And if the type of car I need is not available, they won't hesitate to offer me a free upgrade. I really appreciate that! All things aren't perfect of course but I hope people will be more understanding and patient when they come to this branch (or any other branches nearby). This branch is located in downtown Austin and there are regular huge events in the neighborhood and consequently, there are days when this place gets super busy. They get so busy that they might take more time to pick you up or drop you off. To me, it's just normal and I don't understand why some people complain. Personally, I've turned my car reservations into an exercise opportunity. I walk or jog to this branch to pick up my car or to my home after returning the car (whenever the weather is nice of course). And I love it! Here is my only little complain: sometimes the interior of cars (with animal hair on seats) aren't cleaned properly. I understand that this is another consequence of what I was just saying about this place being so often busy. They have to clean their cars fast and get them ready for the next customers. However, whenever a customer's dog or cat leaves their hair in the car, the cleaning guys have to be more careful and clean it off. Some people are allergic to animals' hair. I personally just don't like sitting on it, whether it's in a car or a couch. In any case, most cars I rent from this branch are clean and smell good (and often new). So, I won't make a big deal out of it. In conclusion, I'll say that this is a great place to call or visit whenever you need a car to rent. I can guarantee you that you'll enjoy the whole experience!

I rented a car from Enterprise for several months while my car was in the shop waiting on parts due to COVID delays. My Insurance (State Farm) told me how much they paid and how much was due based on my deductible. As Enterprise had been charging my Credit Card every Monday and I had zero deductible on the type of claim it was I was expecting to owe about $150 at drop off. The people at the Enterprise branch told me I had to pay that plus a $500 deductible. I told them that State Farm and just told me no deductible was due but the employees at Enterprise refused to call State Farm to confirm this. They said they HAD to charge my the rental amount plus the $500 deductible but as long as I showed them the deductible wasn’t actually due they would refund that part immediately. The next day, I called the 800 number I had been given to resolve the overcharge and told the woman there my story and gave her my insurance phone number and policy number. About an hour later I got a call from State Farm informing me that a representative from Enterprise had called the about my deductible but had told them that she wouldn’t refund the $500 overcharge until I submitted some type of proof in writing. The kicker is, the following Monday after I had returned the car and paid the elevated charges Enterprise charged my credit card on file an additional $500. I have now called four times in an attempt to get a complete itemized invoice for my review. Not only can I not seem to get anyone to send me the copy of my bill but now after holding 8-10min per call I get disconnected. Use this company with extreme caution! They overcharged me $1000 and refuse to correct it. Next step is chargeback with the credit card company. I have no other choice.

This has been single-handedly the worst experience I've ever had with a rental car company. From the very beginning when they picked me up from the body shop, the agent ran a stop sign and went the wrong way down Brazos. Talk about terrifying. Not only was there problems getting me into a car, but then when they couldn't resolve the billing issue with AAA, the manager assured me that they could get me into a car and they'd resolve the issues with AAA while my car was in the body shop. I INSISTED I didn't want to do that because I didn't want to get stuck with the bill if they couldn't resolve it with AAA. He promised it wouldn't happen. So then I had to come back to the location a second time to actually get the car. Here we are a week later, and after having been passed around between FOUR different agents, none of which were involved in getting me into the car in the first place, they're insisting that I'm paying the bill and they can't work with AAA. When I call AAA, they say they can only take information from the body shop and Enterprise, not me. So now I'm stuck with a $200 bill because they have no communication amongst their own team members, no motivation to serve their customers, and no clue how to work with their business partners like AAA. I will never use them again. I'd recommend to anyone considering them to just use Lyft instead. After the price of the rental insurance, the gas, and the daily rental fees, it's cheaper, more efficient, and a MUCH better experience to just use Lyft.

I have used this location twice. The first weekend, I was called and told that my car would not be ready on time and I was asked to come in an hour later. This did not interrupt my plans so I agreed. When I arrived, I had to give the agent behind the counter my entire life story to get the car released to me, even though I use Enterprise often. When I finally had the car in possession, it had not been cleaned before it was handed over to me. The next weekend, I again had to tell the agent behind the counter my life story, but was argued with when expressing concern that the company did not keep my information on file. Rather than showing empathy and addressing my concerns, the agent pushed back as though I was in the wrong for not knowing or understanding their policies. He was rude throughout the entire experience. AFTER going through the hassle of dealing with that particular agent, I was told that my car was not ready (again). They provided me with a "free" upgrade to a full size truck. I appreciate that they did not try to charge me extra, but the gas mileage was actually lower than my car and cost me $20-$30 more in gas for my trip. This was not ideal. I reserved both vehicles a week in advance and this happened to me two weeks in a row. After writing the above review, the local GM contacted me and listened to my feedback. We had a nice discussion about my experiences, he apologized and reassured me that the issues would be addressed. I am more than appreciative of his efforts.

I would like to preface this by saying my review is solely based on the treatment of employees at the Company. My spouse is a regular at this location and raves about the impeccable customer service she receives... BUT I needed to address that this billon dollar company has their employees SITTING OUTSIDE IN OVER 100 DEGREE TEMPERATURES DURING A GLOBAL PANDEMIC. You’re telling me, a billion dollar company cannot afford a sanitary and air conditioned environment for their employees during this national crisis? In light of this information I’ve taken it upon myself to drive past this location daily. You know what I discovered? Not only was this billon dollar company making their employees sit outside in record high temperatures, they’re having them work exhausting hours on days on end (more than 12 hour shifts, I drive by on my way to work around 6:30/7:00 am and see the same individuals when I’m headed home around 6:30/7:00 pm). During my wife’s most recent rental she was informed that the young lady helping her was going on her 7th day in a row working... I cannot comprehend or justify the treatment these individuals are receiving. These individuals are working 12 hr shifts, up to 7 days in a row and get two days off in exchange? How can a company that is worth so much afford to treat the most valuable things to their company this way?

They used to be my go-to branch for getting a rental in Austin. Services used to be amazing, but I don't understand what's wrong with them now. Once I was charged for damage waiver although I had explicitly asked to get it removed, few other times they refused the waiver I get through my employment, citing weird reasons. When my partner asked them why we were charged for something we didn't want, the manager simply said, and I quote, "I think we should agree to disagree." Although previously, the waivers were always included without any question. Even now, at every other location across the country includes these through my employer. And I'm an Enterprise Gold user, with over 83 rental days in 7 months. The new staff, although gentle, don't usually do anything beyond to help you out. Last time they were giving me a dirty car, which was cleaned only because I asked them to. By cleaned, I mean blow dried. Also apparently they're always understaffed and refuse to give a drive from my home, which is less than 2 miles from this location. Please bring the previous staff back. It used to be a good experience, renting with them, but something went really downhill after this Summer. God bless. Right now, I'd rather travel an extra mile and go to the S Lamar location. Much better staff, more cooperative and better services.

Just had another good experience with an Enterprise rent-a-car, a compact, for 5 days in Austin. Once again I had a Nissan Versa. I have been using Enterprise about once a year for my personal solo vacations in Texas, California, and elsewhere and almost always have great experiences. This time, on the third day of my rental, and having put only about 80 miles or so on the car, I was getting warnings that tire pressure was low. To sum up: (a) since the tire pressure was at 17 pounds, and supposed to be at 30, I can’t help but suspect Enterprise did not check it carefully before renting (this has occurred before, actually, with Enterprise); (b) I went ahead and just paid for the fix, which involved removing the tire and cost $15. Did not want to waste time calling Enterprise and going to designated Goodyear outfit, etc. I was on the highway kind of “nowhere”-ish. I had to waste about an hour all told. (c) Enterprise gently scolded me for not having followed their own protocol but actually did reimburse me the $15. My main complaint is just that they need to check tire pressure before sending out rentals. Nevertheless, Enterprise continues to make me happy with pleasant, polite and quick service overall!

Booked a mini-van a day before I needed it with good rate. Vehicle was clean and worked perfect for my groups needs. The location is perfect if you are staying downtown Austin as I was able to walk there simply from my hotel (my choice). The agent who checked me in was super nice, and provided a small discount for my military service. I also had to extend my rental, as I listed a drop off at 1pm - but ended up dropping it off at 7pm after they had closed. Originally, Enterprise charged me for an entire extra day since they didnt techinically receive it until 8am the next day - but a very nice customer rep named Brian eliminated the extra day charge and made it fair (was very very nice and put an exclamation point on a wonderful mini vacation) . Car had only half tank of gas when I got it, but didn't ruin my day by any means and they annotated that (turned it back in with 3/4 tank). I usually book through Avis, but Enterprise had better locations downtown. Also... renting from the Airport locations involve WAY more taxes and charges - something to consider when renting in Austin. I will go through Enterprise at this downtown location again next time I come down.

We rent a car on 2 Sept to drive back to Houston following a mandatory evacuation on our place due to Harvey. I told the staff that I will be returning the car in Missouri City TX on Sept 4 and ask in particular if they are close on that day being a Holiday (Labor day). The nice lady told me I can drop it off on the Enterprise office lot on the 4th or just return the following day (no charge). I dropped off the car on the 4th as instructed. Nonetheless, I received the email receipt charging up to the 5th of Sept (the day they recorded the return). I called this Colorado office and I was informed that they will not charge the card for that extra day. The credit card still got charged!!. called again and a lady told me that's the policy if the office is closed during drop-off even though I explained to her that I was assured it will be corrected back to the original receipt w/c is up to the 4th Sept. Nothing happens....Not sure which is worst, being hit by Harvey or being hit by this kind of shameless business practice....

Here are my issues with Enterprise: 1. Pickup is effectively useless. Their shuttles run something like once every 2-3 hours after which you have to wait for them to pickup/drop 10 other passengers. You are better off walking to their location. 2. Last few times I have rented with them, they NEVER have the car I asked for. I ask for a compact, and they give me cumbersome and gas guzzling Minivans and Pickup trucks. With no other compensation mind you. 3. They are understaffed. I am first in line, and it takes 20 minutes to get to me. One guy is answering phones, scheduling pickups, showing people to their cars and attending new customers. 4. Loyalty program is worthless, I must have rented from Enterprise 20 times and I am still not eligible for a day's free rental. The only plus point I can think of is I have not been overbilled. Then again, I drive at 10mph and take 30 minutes to park in order to make sure I don't bump into anything with the humongous vehicles they give me instead of the human size cars I ask for.

I scheduled a reservation at least a week before and the morning of called to schedule a pickup with their shuttle service. When the time came to be picked-up no one arrived and I waited for 30 minutes. Finally a rep called me and said they were experiencing a delay with the cars and I had to get over to the location immediately to secure my reservation. When I arrived I found out that they had no cars to rent because the previous renters hadn't returned them and because of the shortage they were not honoring the reservation time stamps and we basically had to take a number and they would try to get us cars. It was a Sunday and they close early but they were not even going to keep the location open longer to get everyone car. Finally right before they closed they called me to say that a car had come in and to come get it before they closed. To make up for the mess they did mark the gas level as empty and let me return it with any level in it instead of filling the tank to the original level.

If you planned your perfect vacation in Austin and wanted to rent a car to execute this plan, I’d advise you to stay away from this Enterprise! We had a reservation and they said even though in our booking that we can drop off after hours, they said last month they had a policy change and that’s no longer the case. We asked why we weren’t told earlier, they said “we don’t have time to argue with you” (we weren’t arguing, or even raised our voice, we just showed them the email of our booking) and that “we refuse to rent a car to you now because there are people lining up to rent our cars”. We now have to change our entire itinerary as we need to scramble to find another rental car reservation for later in the week because of the last minute booking! Vacation ruined ‍♀️ I guess if you’re willing to beg for a car to rent and also accept what ever policy change they tell you on arrival, then you’re fine to rent from here. Otherwise highly recommend to stay away.

My friend told me about Enterprise. I called them to reserve a car and they were very nice. Unfortunately, after I visited the office they rejected my order because the Debit card !!! Everything was okay. I have a Texas license and I am over 25. The reason was because I don't have Credit card!! When I told my friend about that he was surprised !! because he rent a car from them and they didn't require a credit card from him. By the way my friend didn't has a Texas license (he has international license) and he was under 25 !! In addition, at the end, one of the agent told me go to other car rentals they will help you !! Yes, I went to other car rental and they accepted my order and they were very flexible than Enterprise. I will not go to Enterprise anymore, and I will not recommend this place to any friend !! because I was annoyed, I have very important appointment, and I was late for this reason. I gave two stars because some of the staff were nice to me.

The customer service at the Downtown Austin location (8th & Colorado) is superb. I have never had reason to complain about the care I receive whenever I rent from this location. The one thing I will express some concern about is the tire pressure of every vehicle I have ever rented from Enterprise. I don't know what the maintenance policy is but I have gotten into the habit of driving the car to my office parking lot (seven blocks away) and checking out the PSI. It's a good thing I do this because inevitably the pressure is about 10 pounds over the capacity of the tire on each wheel. The recommended PSI is labeled inside the driver's side door. It's not unusual for me to have to bleed off about 15-18 pounds of air pressure every time. At highway speeds for three to four hours at a time you run the risk of blowouts with that kind of over-inflation. There's really no call for that kind of ignorance.

If I could give this company a 0 Star I would. We reserved a car which was confirmed for 8.30 am. We called to request to be picked up at 8 am and was told that the car would not be ready for another 2 hours as they were waiting for cars to come back to the yard. 4.5 hours later we still had not received any notification that the car was ready after the fourth phone call. We were then told that the car we requested was not available and they only had 3 in stock that which were not appropriate at a higher rate than we had requested. Enterprise were only willing to cover the fuel for our compensation which would barely cover quarter of a tank for a trip to San Antonio that was now ruined with most of the day gone. This company claims to pride itself on customer service but are a complete joke. Stay clear of this company or at least this Downtown centre. Very unimpressed.

I have always made Enterprise my first choice in rental cars but I will reconsider in the future...or at least the downtown Austin location on 5th Street. I requested an up grade as the rental was not planned. I feel like it annoyed the agent and his co-worker...he stepped outside and just stood there and then said they were full. I understand that but he then put me in the worst car I have rented since "Rent a Wreck"! The car was dirty, had less than 1/4 tank of gas and sounded like a go-cart. I was traveling to see my father who was hospitalized and my nerves were exposed. I called to see if I could trade in Houston and was told if I wanted to go to the airport but the location on I-10 which I passed at 5:50pm could not help. When I returned the car the attitude was present with another employee-They do not care and I will never rent from this location again!

  • Stephen Brown

The staff was nice and helpful. I used the self check in app made things easier and faster, although they still asked for an ID & Card and had to do some processing (and asked the usuall insurance questions). Car only had a 1/4 tank of gas in it, which isn't a big deal for me but a bit frustrating as I had to look for a station before getting on the highway (was driving for a few hours in the country on back roads and wanted to make sure I had a full tank before going to far). Biggest issue was that the car smelled of stale smoke. Maybe it wasn't smoke and it was just stale, but if I had noticed it initially, I would have asked for another car. Wasn't so bad that I couldn't live with it and after about an hour, didn't really notice, but annoying. Not sure how much Enterprise can really do about that issue but reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5.

We picked up our car here at a downtown Austin location on a Sunday at mid-day and they were BUSY! They had returns coming through and pick-ups and seemed quite apparently understaffed - Easter Sunday and the beginning of Spring Break for many. Our customer service rep was a young man by the name of Nick. If it weren’t for him, I think we would have literally walked away. Nick made our transaction flow as smoothly as he could given what he had to work with. He got us checked in, helped with a billing issue, and sanitized a car for us that they had just taken in. They were also experiencing a plumbing issue so the exterior of the car couldn’t be washed; we drove away a muddy car. My husband & I spent the next 30-minutes disinfecting and sanitizing the car ourselves in order to ensure safety. Nick gets 5+ stars! Enterprise totally disappointed!

  • D T

Car rented handled fine except the cruise control did not stay engaged. After setting it, it would slip out of that speed after a couple of minutes. Also, I had inquired a day or two before my rental if I could arrange for a pickup at my location to be taken to the Enterprise location. I was told I needed to call on the day of rental to arrange the pickup and that they opened at 7:30 AM. My rental was to start at 8 AM. I started calling at 7:30 and remained on hold for nearly 15 minutes before someone picked up the call and arranged for a car to pick us up. In the end, I left the rental location in my car by about 8:25, a little later than expected. Enterprise should allow for pickups requests to be placed the day before, especially if they are for first thing in the morning. Otherwise, everything worked out well with the rental.

  • Marcelo Perrone

Be careful - they do not honor the reservations made on the website. Booked this morning and went there to pick up the car only to hear them say "yeah, just because you booked on the site it does not mean we'll have a car for you". They said everything was rented and there were already a few people on the line ahead of me to get cars if someone cancelled. I could joint the waitlist but was warned it was a long one. So after spending 40usd on a cab to get me there I had to spend another 40 to go to the airport and rent from someone else. On top of all that I had to deal with complete lack of empathy and lot of arrogance from guy behind the counter and the location manager that just kept repeating a confirmed reservation from the website does not guarantee a car.

  • TURGAY DUMAN

I went to rent a car since my car broke down. We were with my friends, they have a little baby and my wife is pregnant. I checked the price on the enterprise app, it was like around 80$ but the guy told me that the price is 180$. I even made a reservation using app and still he refused to drop the price. He insisted that the price is higher because of high demand which doesn’t make any sense. You always pay what you see online. So my friend went to airport and rent a car from enterprise. He only paid 77$ as shown online. Since they saw my car broke down and we were there with a baby, he was trying to rip me off. I wouldn’t even give a one star. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. I called enterprise customer service and complained about them.

  • Jessica Smith

Enterprise is a joke in general. When I landed at the airport they told me they were out of cars, even though I had a reservation well in advance. So I tried this location, reserving a car online and selecting the delivery option. It never showed up. I must have tried calling 10 times and no one ever answered the phone. Finally, I tried calling the headquarters to confirm that my reservation went through, and they could not have been more rude to me. The call got disconnected so I was never able to get my situation resolved. I've always used Budget for my car rentals, but we had a corporate discount to Enterprise. In the future I will gladly pay full price at a different company, and I suggest you do too.

  • Allam Castillo

Arrived at the lot to pick up my car I had just reserved. At first they said my car wasn't available, and they only had a large pick up truck, and somehow it was my fault because I didn't reserve 24 hours in advanced (none of this was said to me over the phone). Eventually they gave me a small SUV for the same price, but I had to stand my ground. Ended up waiting about 30 minutes for them to give me the car. Then on top of the price they really recommended an insurance in case anything happens because my credit card wouldn't cover it (I doubted it but got it just in case). I was expecting to pay the original price for the original car. Delivery of the car was pretty simple and no new charges came up.

  • Suzanne Latting

I have always thought of Enterprise as a very convenient, easy to deal with company. My recent experience, however, was very frustrating. I needed to return my rental very early in the morning on a Sunday, and was told, "Oh, just drop it at any Enterprise location." To make a long story short, I called 3 different locations ahead of time, just to be sure it was going to work. It was not true that I could drop the car at any location. No lockbox at one, two others not open on Sunday, so the liability for the car would stay with me--even though the car was on their lot and key in their lockbox--until they opened on Monday and checked the car in. I thought the statement was very misleading/untrue.

  • Toonday B

Upon entering the Enterprise office, I was greeted warmly by the staff and acknowledged. The representative by the name of Barrett (I believe it was his name) was extremely helpful and maintained a friendly attitude throughout the entire process. I was very pleased and it made my trip to Austin much more exciting knowing the type of people I would encounter. When I arrived to drop the car off, there was a representative that showed up and began the checkout process. He was very friendly, energetic, and helpful. I told him how I enjoyed the service when I first arrived to Austin. The customer service I’ve experienced overall was amazing and I’ll be sure to use Enterprise again for my next trip!

  • Melanie

Your reservation doesn't matter! I would strongly advise against renting a car from here. I am extremely disappointed in Enterprise. We had a reservation for a car rental and when we called to see if they could pick us up, we were told they were running low on cars and would call us back. We waited 20 minutes and then called back to follow up. We were told they were still trying to find cars. I asked when we would be notified and no solid response, just that they would call us. We were able to locate a car at Budget Rent A Car on 11th. The salesperson was amazing and had our car ready in 5 minutes. We never heard back from Enterprise. Very disappointing and poor customer service.

  • T. Jay Adams

Stay away from this rental spot. Despite having a reservation 2 months in advance they do not have a car available. I have rented from this location a few times before simply because If location but this is the last one. There are generally plenty of staff around but the desk operates slower than any rental company I've dealt with. Unbelievable that they hand out walk in reservations when I am waiting in line only to be told a 30 minute wait for a car. Whichever is also bs by the way since I'm now over 30 minutes. Another customer service tip is to not stop talking to me and talk a phone call right in my face half way through my paperwork. What kind of service people do this?

  • Paul Dixon

I can't understand the negative reviews. I'm just back from Austin and this place was so nice I rented from them on 2 separate days. Firstly, they picked me up and dropped me off from my hotel. Secondly they were just so "Austin" friendly and chatted away all the time. Finally, on the walkthroughs they were the ones pointing out any dings (which the first car had 1 or 2). They were pretty cheap and had the cars I wanted available. I didn't even have to wait at the counter either time. Other than the less than perfect condition of the first car (2nd was much better) there wasn't 1 thing wrong. And yes, I do rent cars on average 3-4 times per year, so I do know what to expect.

  • Jacqueline Diaz

Rented a car from here. The customer service was not the best. When we got to the car the inside was dirty there was crumbs everywhere and the windows were filthy! The girl at the front desk was really pushy when it came for us to get the extra insurance for the car even though we were only going to have it for one day. We first told her no but then she told us she would have to speak to her manager and we might not be able to rent the car if we didn't get the insurance. Which I have rented cars multiple times and that has never been an issue. So we ended up getting the insurance since we needed to get on the road ASAP. I will not go back to this location again.

  • Ryan Bieker

I usually have good experiences with Enterprise, I rent from them all the time for work. This last time however, I went to drop my rental off in Austin Texas and the person working told me to go ahead and leave the keys in the car and they will email me a receipt later. About 1 week later I got a call asking when I was going to drop of the car, the person working never checked the car in. When I told them what happened the manager said they will research this and they never called me back. I had to call them back and threaten to ask for the security camera footage since I KNOW i dropped of the car... so dumb

  • Stevie Nicks

I would like to say that my attorneys use the Enterprise all over Austin, but most of them use our favorite Enterprise on 816 Colorado. I cannot tell you how helpful all of the representatives are when I call. If I need a receipt, it is sent through the email immediately. They are so accommodating and work with me on any obstacle I run into, if any. Please acknowledge these employees because I was not only a customer service Manager for Avis, but a ticket agent and gate agent for Delta Airlines, and I can honestly say that I would have loved to have this group of employees on my team any day.

  • David Cisneros

Thank you thank you thank you. That is all I can say to a great team at enterprise. Heather the manager and the assistant manager definitely was a assist in helping me rent a vehicle that I most needed for my trip. I was so much in a panic in a frenzy when I could not find the vehicle that I would need for my trip which was a all wheel drive, or a 4 x 4. None of those are available in Texas but Heather and the team at enterprise didn’t waste any time and trying to help my family get the vehicle. They truly have great customer service and I will definitely be returning back again.

  • phillip rodriquez

We had a reservation at eleven am. When we arrived at the location the attendant smelled of alcohol and stated we will call you if a car is available ( rudely). At two pm still we haven't received a call so we walked to the location from our hotel. As we arrived the gentleman at this location rudely stated I thought we told you we would call when was available. What the hell? Given that they close in a hour we asked if we will get a car today? He said no, come back tomorrow. What a waste of a day. I exclusively rent from enterprise and never had this horrible of a experience.

  • Jacob Fink

First we were offered a larger vehicle than we wanted that has "good gas mileage because it uses flex fuel." After that I assumed I could rent said van with a debit card based on their website "Debit cards are accepted at airport and non-airport locations in the US and Puerto Rico. In Canada, debit cards are accepted only at non-airport locations. Please be advised when using a debit card, special conditions may apply, so please read all conditions below." but was denied a rental until I could produce the credit card that I don't have. So now we get to see Austin by foot.

  • Rosemerry Rudesal

The service was fantastic both when picking up and returning the car. It was efficient and complete. When I returned the car, the guys in the office phoned a cab for us and got us on the way to the airport. When it turned out that we had left a cell phone and phone charger in the car, they immediately called our backup number on the application and made arrangements to get someone to pick up the phone. Car was clean and ran very well; the price was competitive. Also the driver who picked me up at the hotel and took me to the local office to get the car was fascinating!

  • Bethany C.

Convenient location for renting a car when visiting Austin, TX (Take bus 20 from Airport to Lavaca and 10th, walk over one block to Colorado). When we arrived we were told that we were upgraded to a bigger car for no extra cost. However when comparing what I booked online to what I paid for when picking the car up there was a 50$ difference, I called and they did fix it. It would have been nice to not have to call and it just be correct in the first place. The upgrade was nice but it was a larger car costing more gas. There was a reason I picked the economy car.

  • Kathryn Dutton

The folks here are very pleasant but some customer service tips could be useful. My ride to this location had to drop me off 1/2 hour before this location opened. Employees were arriving while I waited outside, standing the whole time. If I were the manager, I would have a bench area near the front door or would have invited me to sit inside and wait until opening. On the plus side, I was given a Prius for my Economy size rental...most of the other vehicles in the lot were SUVs. The Prius was fairly clean but could have used some elbow grease inside.

  • Meet Bajwa

Try to stay away from this particular location of enterprise. They have overcharged me around 250 dollars and won't refund. I rented a car from them which I returned in Buda, TX. Before returning I confirmed with manager in Buda TX what would I be charged on top of my 1 day of rental and he said they will charge 70 cents/mile and Buda location is around 11 mile away from original Austin TX location but they charged me 200 plus taxes for one way rental. My bill is now 351.97 instead of $120. Try to Stay away from them and use any other rental.

  • Queens Lackey61

Austin Tx Downtown, in town for a few days and needed a car just for the day, Used the Downtown location and had a very pleasant experience with the Team running that location, car was clean, fueled and ready to go when I got there, the drop-off was after hours, SIMPLE. Management they followed up with me the next day to see if everything was good with the car, just a bit of follow-up you dont see any more! Super group to deal with. will use them again.. this group of guys should be training others! Great attitudes. Thanks so much

  • Mary Rodriguez

Made a reservation for the week because this was going to be the only branch open during the time that I had to pick up a vehicle. When I arrived they told me that I was put on a wait because they had no availability (that’s not their fault). She then proceeds to tell us that they tried calling several times but that didn’t happen. I definitely wouldn’t have made the trip down into town, had I known. This costed me a few hours and juggling to figure out another plan. It was extremely frustrating.

  • Marshall Jones

I have been renting here a few times a year for several years and have always had reliable service and they have ALWAYS gone out of there way to get me the car I requested. For my business trips I need a lot of trunk space and they have done a great job of accommodating me. I am surprised by the poor reviews. I find the people as helpful as necessary and rarely do they try to up-sell me on insurance, etc. Many of the young folks have been working here for at least a year and know their jobs well.

  • C T (CT)

Staff were friendly and getting the car ready to go was quick and easy. My only negative was I couldn't get picked up from my hotel. They only had a limited amount of cars to pick up customers and they couldn't get me in time since I had an appointment in another city otherwise I would have waited. I guess it was a busy day! It would have been nice to be compensated somehow since one of their perks is to be picked up. Otherwise customer service was great. Location convenient and downtown anyway.

  • Kevin Kromenacker

Everything about this place was great, except one of the guys behind the counter gave my $100 sunglasses to another customer. She apparently had lost her glasses, and he grabbed mine off the counter without asking when I wasn't looking and ran them out to her. Just baffling. I understand that mistakes happen, but that's why you ask "hey are these anybody's?" before running out and giving them away, especially when they were right next to me. No offer to replace them, not even an apology.

  • soham patel

The overall experience was awesome. They were short of the premium sedan cars so they upgraded my ride for free. We had a punctured tire, right in the middle of nowhere, even then enterprise was quick to response and we had our on-road assistant in about 30 mins. We also meet with a minor accident, but we had bought the enterprise car insurance. The procedure was hassle free, they just needed my statement describing the accident and everything else was taken care of by them.

  • curtis fuelberg

Even though I had reserved the truck the week before and checked on it the day before it was not there when I went to pick it up. They tried to say it was my fault because I reserved it for 8:30 and I arrived at 9:15. It wasn't there at 8:30 either. They said it was on the way but when they called to check, it was in a different city and the driver had not yet arrived. I ended up with a SUV instead of a truck....big difference. In the past they have been really good.

  • Genevieve Mendoza

I experienced outstanding customer service when working with Hannah for my rental at Enterprise in Austin TX. Hannah greeted me with a smile during our phone conversation prior to picking up the vehicle, and delivered excellent customer service till the very end upon leaving Enterprise. Hannah answered all of my questions & concerns with superb soft skills & professional knowledge in her role. Hannah is an asset to your company!

  • Brianna Cortez

Went to rent a car from here. The staff was friendly. Was told The rental car was ready to be picked up but it wasn't. So they gave me a different car that they had available But the car was super filthy in and out. Seats where all stained and gross. Will never again rent a car from here again! Never had I experienced something like this in any other enterprise. Would definitely not recommend coming here fo a rental.

  • Anthony Stevens

The rental van was not as expected. The windshield and mirrors were very dirty as was the interior. Mud on the tires. Also, on our drive to Waco, we experienced some rain. The windshield wipers bounced across the windshield providing little to no relief from the rain. The wipe blades need replaced. We were shocked because Enterprise was one of our favorite rental car companies. Thanks for listening, Anthony Stevens

  • Coleman Davis

I tried picking up the small car I reserved, but it wasn't there. They said offered to "upgrade" me to a truck, which I declined cause of gas guzzling reasons. Not a big deal, I agreed to come a couple hours later to pick up the reserved car. I returned the car within 48 hours and left the keys in their after-hours dropbox. However, since no one was there, they charged me another 24 hours. Why even have a dropbox?

  • Laura Speck

Booked a car 2 weeks prior. Arrive to pick it up- they say they have no availability. They say they “tried to call” but I never received a call, text, email, or voicemail. Now carless and supposed to drive out of town for holidays today. Horrible service- this is an unacceptable error and lack of communication on their part. And now being 11/23- right before a holiday- no other locations have cars in stock.

  • Elle French

A huge selling point it that they "pick you up", but they don't even cover pickups for all the hours that the store is open. I rented a car to leave town at 9 AM for an 11-hour drive, but they wouldn't pick me up until after 10 AM, so I was forced to Uber to the Enterprise office. Also, the downtown office has horrible hours. Then need to extend the hours in the evening and start earlier on the weekends.

  • Brianna Sterling

Wonderful service, everything done professionally and explained accurately! The car I rented was very clean and in close to new condition. Payment easy, drop of easy! Best experience renting a vehicle and they came to pick me up from my mechanic shop. The Customer service reps on North Lamar were awesome and patient with my questions, and the drop-off specialist were very quick but precise!

  • C Stall

Overall we were pleased, however there were moments of trepidation as the agents admitted they'd overbooked for the weekend. For a time there were no cars and we thought our road trip was toast. However, the agents eventually produced a vehicle (after hours). It was not detailed to perfection, but functioned well and got us to our destination. The agents worked hard to mitigate the problem.

  • Kyle Bailey

I have used Enterprise Rent-A-Car a couple of dozen times, and I've never had anything but a good experience. I even drove away once in a car that I immediately dislike returned and they switched it out for me with no problems. I think I am most impressed with Enterprise Rent-A-Car when I go to another Rent-a-Car company, and the experience is awful. Then I go right back to Enterprise

  • Shalonda Holloway

Love, love, love Enterprise Rent-A-Car service on North Lamar (hwy183) location. They always pick us up (my daughter and me) and drop us off at home after our rental is returned. It's the best feeling to not need to worry about how we will get back home because we use public transportation. Transporting her car seat is made easy because Enterprise gives us a ride.

  • Lynn Robinson

I have used Enterprise Rent-A-Car from Alabama to Texas and am always pleased. I have found the staff at this location to be friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. I have rented using a credit card AND a debit card without any issues whatsoever so I don't really understand what's going on with that. I would highly recommend Enterprise for your rental car needs!

  • Eyewanders Foto

Rented a car from this location last minute on a Sunday afternoon and all 3 folks here that helped out were really friendly and helpful and got us into an economy car at a good rate. Extended one extra day as well without any sort of hassle. Perfectly easy car rental experience and easy-going yet professional staff were there to get us squared away. Recommended.

  • June Kim

I’ve rented from this location countless times over the past 7 years. They have always been professional and cooperative. I know the teams rotate over time. Everyone has been a pleasure to work with! Sadly I moved this summer and there are several more enterprise locations closer to me. :( If it somehow works out, I’ll still try to rent from them. Thank you!

  • James Bryant

Reserved a car a month ago and we got there a couple of hours late due to other delays. No calls to check, they just gave our car away to someone else. Ruined our plans to travel for the weekend. Completely unhelpful, not even apologetic. Told us to call another branch, rather than do it themselves. Terrible customer service. Never getting my business again

  • Chante Hodge

Asked to be picked up from the detail shop where I was dropping my car off was told that someone would be here at 11:25 am but no one has shown up. Called location and driver left 15 minutes ago but the location is only 10 minutes apart. Not to mention the run around I went through to get the reservation transferred to a branch closer to the shop.

  • Monte Sheffield

Checkout the Seinfeld episode of the rental reservation...they know how to take a reservation, they just don’t know how to hold it! The peeps on the phone all have canned/scripted apologetic excuses. Had a “reservation” confirmed on 5th for a 930a pickup on 7th and they have nothing...nice job enterprise on false hopes. Oversold, under delivered!

  • Karibu Nyaggah

Wow wow wow. One of the things I love about Enterprise is their pickup service. Ashley picked me up right on time, took me to the office and helped me check out. Got a great upgrade and more importantly, everything about the process was smooth and efficient. Drop-off which is already low friction couldn't have been better. Thank you Enterprise!

  • Douglas Welmaker

I rent from this location all the time. They are super professional, and will bend over backwards for you. I have rented cars from a number of other companies in Austin, and not only are the cars Enterprise rents nicer, but the quality of the staff is consistently outstanding; a number of the employees greet me by name, which is super nice.

  • Stephanie Lopez

Had a reservation done by a branch manager from another branch. They called that specific branch and gave us a card with reservation number, time and date. She confirmed with them and assured me it was good go. Showed up today and they had all types of excuses and no car. I was unable to go into work. I’m very frustrated with this process.

  • Celia Pollio

The woman on the phone had a bitter and worthless attitude, being professional is hard when you’re miserable at your job but that’s not my fault. Most of us are tired, over worked, under paid, and exploited daily- but don’t come at me with your aggression and attitude when we have more but in common than the bosses who exploit our labor.

  • Nancy Costa-Larson

The associates were very friendly and helpful at this site. The young lady that picked me up looked very presentable and when I dropped off the car the young man was also very presentable and friendly. Keep up the good customer service! That’s why I’ve used enterprise for over 20 years. I had issues with the Houston airport site

  • William R Baker

My car was at a body shop being repaired. Enterprise personnel brought the car to me, which was great. Then, when my car was ready, I was able to leave the rental car at the body shop and drive my car home. The cost of the rental was competitive, the personnel with whom I worked with were courteous, knowledgeable and efficient.

  • Kevin S.

Always a great experience! My reserved cars are always on time, the staff is very nice and you can even drop off the car after hours! I've never had any nasty surprises here, they're always upfront about their prices and policies. Their car inventory is also clean and well maintained. They're my to-go guys when I rent a car.

  • Paul Meagher

We called Enterprise on their national number to book a car. The woman on the phone assured us there were cars available to book and we should go to the office. When we arrived we were told they did not have any cars. Further we were told the national line will always say there are cars available when their might not be.

  • Amber Hatch

I never thought getting a rental car after your car was hit could be a pleasant experience but Enterprise did an amazing job. Everyone I dealt with was very friendly and very informative. There were not hidden charges, and they explained everything clearly. Much better than any other car rental experience I have had.

  • Travis Stone

I live close to this location, and have rented cars twice a month for the past 4 months. I have continually been please with the speed and quality of work here! They are always friendly, professional, and remember my face. Thanks to this location, I will be a life long Enterprise customer. Keep up the good work!

  • Stephen J. Lautenschlager

Excellent rental car provider in the downtown Austin area. The staff is very attentive to expeditious and courteous customer service. The rental vehicles are very well maintained mechanically and the cleanliness is superb. The undercover area for pick up and return is great for rainy day pickups and returns.

  • slhelper

We were picked up at the time promised and given good service at the counter. we dropped off after-hours, so we walked back to the hotel in the downtown area. The walk back took 15-20 minutes, is decently lit, and at ~8pm, there was enough traffic around that we weren't too concerned about safety.

  • Everett W

I walked up to reserve a car in a pinch of a situation. I asked to use my enterprise points to cover the booking. In spite of this request, when I returned the vehicle I had a $350 bill. The branch manager took that as an opportunity to tell me what I did wrong instead of try to make it right.

  • Richard Viktorin

Generally a positive experience. There was a bit of a wait when I got there but staff heaved to once they saw the impatient grimace on my face. Later when a tire was low and I had to return to the location, they serviced the car's interior when they didn't have to. I would definitely return.

  • John Knox

Car was fine, however, someone had previously smoked in it. When it was closed up all day in the hot sun, you could not breath without rolling the windows down and letting it air out for quite a while. I told the person when I returned the car and they said, there was nothing they could do.

  • Eleanor Taylor

Was served by Rob and Scott. We were in a rush and they were very quick and helpful and friendly. The return was also painless. Good choice of cars. Mostly automatic, don't think they had any manual but I think thats normal for US. Really good service, would go there again next time!!!

  • Carlos Oviedo

Enterprise Agents, employees have all been WONDERFUL, pleasant, professional, and most importantly, EFFICIENT. I was picked up TWICE on two different reservations. The employees/agents I dealt with did not waste my time; and, they were eager to accommodate me. GREAT JOB AND THANKS!!!!

  • Mauricio O

Don't rent from this location. Service is the worst. They told me they didn't have a car available when I arrived at the location because they had overbooked. They said they tried to call my number to inform me of that but that they couldn't get hold of me. I never received such call.

  • Grace Simpson

We didn't actually rent a car, but we had a report filled out due to an accident at this location. He sent us to a location with cars available and was very helpful. Good, helpful service even though he wasn't getting any money from us. We really appreciate it! Thank you!

  • Poornima Anandan

We rented a car from Austin and dropped off at San Antonio. The whole process was Soo easily. We got upgraded to a truck because they didn't have the car available which had booked. The staff at Austin was great . She also suggested us few places we good visit at Austin.

  • B.D. Fisher

Great experience. The staff was pleasant and professional. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a bigger vehicle. The vehicle was freshly washed and the interior was immaculate. We were checked in and out in a matter of minutes with no problems whatsoever. Highly recommended.

  • Wendee Hsu

The staff are super supportive and friendly! When my credit card does not work, they help me fulfill the payment on their computer patiently. They also guided me in checking all details of the car. I've rent Nissan versa and Toyota Corolla, both are with high quality.

  • Gina Burchenal

I rent from this location often and it is very convenient to my home. They will take me to and from within a reasonable amount of time. The vans I have rented are excellent, clean, low mileage. The staff is friendly and the check-in and out is very quick, Thank you!

  • Rachel B.

We are thinking of renting a car just for 1 day- a Saturday from about 10am-10pm when we visit Austin early next year. Is that possible? Can we drop off the car after hours if you close early on Saturday? What is the best way to get the best daily rates? Thank you

  • Peter Gonzalez

I recently had an issue with another car rental service and they leased my pre-paid car out! I called Enterprise and they picked me up for free, gave me a great rate, and they drove me to the airport when I was done with the rental. They have a customer for life!

  • Andres Canas

Extremely unorganized and uninformed. Spoke to a representative on the phone for half and hour. They confirmed my rental, reservation, payment and made me go pick up the car. When I arrived they said I couldn’t get the car for X, Y, and Z. Horrible experience.

  • Too Sassy

Best car rental, ever!!! I cannot remember the last time I was picked up by the rental agency!! And they dropped me off after the rental, too! I felt bad since my coworker drove the work vehicle. Not to worry, I was much more Sassier!! Thx Enterprise! …

  • Kaitlyn Gabric

Had a wonderful experience with Enterprise. The car was in great condition and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They had multiple recommendations about driving routes and destinations in the area. I would definitely return to use Enterprise again.

  • B. Lewis

I was able to pick up the rental with little to no wait. Staff was attentive and present. The return went smoothly as well- the agent who processed the return was one of the most professional customer service people I've encountered and is an obvious star.

  • John Schneider

The staff were all friendly. When I was returning my vehicle, another customer was returning a vehicle that had been involved in an accident. The customer was clearly stressed about the whole situation, but the Enterprise rep remained calm and helpful.

  • Merri Fergusson

Great experience using this location for Enterprise. Check in was easy and Braden gave us a sweet ride! He made sure we were comfortable with the car before sending us on our way. Returning the car was seamless and staff were all friendly & helpful.

  • Melanie Levine

Good experience picking up at Enterprise in downtown Austin. Better experience with drop off at Houston IAH. Without requesting it, the young lady at drop off said she would waive the fee for the extra hour. Bravo to management for empowering her.

  • Luke S

Staff was very friendly, but I would have liked if they washed the car I rented before I got it. Had dust all over it. Also when I returned the car they literally gave it to a guy standing in line without vacuuming it or 'really' inspecting it.

  • Monica Cavazos

I love Enterprise. Every location provides wonderful customer service. The Colorado St. location was no exception. Eric Kyle went above and beyond to accommodate me when a reservation I thought I made online didn't go through. Thanks so much!

  • Asim Ahmed

Horrible customer service. Booked appointment to be picked up well in advance. They made me wait for over an hour to be picked up. Also kept lying on the phone about when they will pick me up. Will never do business with this location again.

  • Jongmin Son

I visited this place to switch my car. Unfortunately, they didn't have compact class car that I wanted. But they find near the Enterprise rent-a-car office that has cars which I wanted to I could change my car. Nice service and kind staff.

  • Todd Patterson

This location has a terrific staff and the rates were excellent for a one-way rental to Houston. I had a tight timeframe and they made sure all of the pieces came together. Tom and Rachael were especially helpful and had a great attitude.

  • Trey Greer

This location doubled billed me for the rental and after calling three time I have never got any the issue resolved. Please use a different location. I love enterprise. But this location in particular seems to be struggling currently.

  • Karthik

Ivan was phenomenal. Worked within the confines of Enterprise's rules to get me a vehicle before they closed even though they were out of the vehicles my reservation guaranteed. Occurred timely and then return was easy as well.
