Ethan Allen Calgary is definitely a "buyer beware" zone. Please do not trust the advice you receive from the designers at Ethan Allen. Be sure to double check the information you get from them with an outside source before proceeding with any purchase. If you receive poor advice from one of their designers, and order based on that advice, be assured that this store will take zero accountability and do absolutely nothing to correct the error. I ordered two expensive chairs in a fabric that the designer assured me was an excellent choice for a home with two small boys - highly durable, "practically commercial grade" in her words, an excellent stain guard on the fabric. The fabric is a cotton/linen blend, with a printed rather than woven pattern, and a durability rating of "25,000 double rubs". As it turns out, commercial grade is 100,000 to 250,000 double rubs - quite a stretch from 25,000. My external designer was shocked that they told me a printed (vs. woven) fabric would be such a great choice - it's a pillow fabric, not a chair fabric - and cotton-linen is as stain-absorbent as it gets; in addition, stain guard breaks down over time, not to mention being toxic. So that's the first issue. The second is that the first fabric I chose matched my area rug; I switched it because when the designer showed me a larger section of the fabric (not shown in the sample book), it had huge, ugly birds on on it. I was very surprised and asked to switch within the standard 48 hour change period (to change or cancel anything). The designer then recommended a fabric from a group of coordinating fabrics, with a different pattern and no birds, and I went with that. Surprisingly, it turned out to be an entirely different blue - a green-blue, vs. a violet blue - which wasn't so obvious because the samples were not side by side in the book. Everything else in the collection matches perfectly, but this fabric matches nothing in the grouping. When I discovered the difference & the quality issues 2 weeks after ordering & well before the chairs were even started, the designer and owner of the store would do nothing to make a change. Absolutely nothing. I even asked to pay for a second fabric, or have the chairs delivered unfinished to save some money on reupholstering, and they would not do ANYTHING. They have tried to blame my designer who has not set foot in their store,and gave me all kinds of excuses like "we aren't allowed to call our own factory and ask about the status of items ordered" and "the chairs are all but done but we'll be shipping them back and forth across the country for the next several weeks instead of shipping them to you now, and that's why we can't change it". Now the chairs have arrived and the owners stance is "make a decision, take them or leave them; we have your $1400 deposit, and the chairs - we don't feel that we need to discuss this further". The long and short of it is, this store does not care if you are happy with their product; they don't care if you come back or not; they are happy to take your money and give you nothing in return if that's what it comes down to, so long as they don't have to put in any additional effort beyond processing your credit card.

I am a new customer to Ethan Allen and I always had the impression that this was an "old person/grandma" type of furniture store but either I am a lot older now (note: I'm not a grandma in case you are wondering) or they have revamped the store since 15 years ago. The furniture is very classy, with a good blend of traditional and transitional. If you are looking for cheap or contemporary furniture this is probably not the store for you. The overall experience is top notch and a big kudos to the sales rep - Baharan. She is super professional, patient, honest and responsive! Not only was the pre-purchase experience amazing but the after care has been phenomenal. I bought a piece off the floor and it was damaged when I received it and I told Baharan and she's been on top of it. I'm also getting regular updates despite the current COVID 19 situation that caused the store to be physically closed. I went to a bunch of furniture stores in Calgary from ones that have a lower price point, to ones with higher price points and the service from Baharan knocks all of them out the door. Her advice and time that she provided for FREE was better than the quality of what I received from a well known designer that I paid thousands for. She's not pushy like many of the sales people that you may encounter. If you are in the market for new furniture either to furnish your whole house or pieces to update the look, ask for Baharan and I'm sure you will be happy you did so. (Sorry for the lengthy review but I'm just that pleased with the experience that I would take the time to write this)

We recently received a postcard direct mail offer from Ethan Allen. I’ve very occasionally visited the retail store and appreciated the quality furniture but never purchased or worked with the design team. This mail offer included complimentary design consultation and I needed help with one room in our home so I scanned the QR code and typed in my request. I received a response same-day and set up the in-home appointment with Jenn Bailey for the next morning. She was prompt and professional, took measurements, observed and asked lots of questions. Two weeks later we met in-store for a complete interactive presentation. It was clear that Bailey listened closely to our priorities because the three design options presented were all viable. We took home some fabric samples and a complete hard copy of the presented options. Two days later we returned the samples and placed an order. I’m not a fast decision maker. However the precision of this process and clear alignment with our priorities made it easy to move forward. Bailey is an excellent consultant. Recommend.

I had been admiring a bed at Ethan Allen since the Spring of 2019. In January 2020, my husband and I were close by Deerfoot Meadows, and decided to stop in and look at said bed, that I had been thinking about for over half a year:). We were fortunate to meet Ethan Allen Designer Baharan Moini, and receive her assistance. Our conversation was casual, laid back, and informative - zero pressure. When we decided to purchase the bed, Baharan offered to come to our home and take measurements, to ensure that it would fit in our house- (a free service!). She was also helpful in answering design questions and offering design suggestions for our home. Even through Covid-19, the bed was only delayed by a couple weeks, so basically the timeline held for delivery. Baharan was available to answer questions from time of order, through time of delivery, and kept us informed throughout the process. We love the bed, great quality, and a wonderful addition to our bedroom. I would recommend Ethan Allen at Deerfoot Meadows, and ask for Baharan. You won't be disappointed!

We had the pleasure of Bailey (Jenn) helping us pick living room furniture. She patiently took me through the store showing me different options on my first visit. A home visit followed within just a few days and two days later we were back in the store looking at the virtual floor plan she had set up. She had furniture she felt would work in the space, possible fabric choices and decor options outlined. We felt that she listened to what we wanted and also gave us really good suggestions. I loved her style ideas and appreciated the fact that she was so on top of everything right from the beginning. I would highly recommend her to anybody looking for someone to help them with interior decoration and design.

My wife and I recently purchased a home and needed quite a bit of furniture. We made an initial order of furniture through Baha, but after shopping around for other pieces have now made three separate orders with her. Baha has been nothing short of excellent. She constantly goes above and beyond our expectations whether it has been coming to our home, creating 3D models, or pulling whatever fabrics might go well on pieces we like. Baha is extremely patient and never pushes products on us. We have been to the store many times without making a decision on which pieces we like and continue to receive excellent service. We love our new furniture and have thoroughly enjoyed our experience working with Baha.

My husband and I went into Ethan Allan looking for new bedroom chairs, drapery panels, lamps and pillows. We were fortunate that Baha was in the store that day and looked after us. We did not know her and it was just happenstance but absolutely to our benefit. Baha help us find chairs we love and then worked with us on fabrics for the chairs, drapery panels and bed cushions. She worked with what we already had in the bedroom and wanted to keep. She never made us feel rushed and took time to look at lots of different options. We love the finished look. She also kept us up to date on the order status and delivery time. She provides great customer service and has a lovely personality.

When we starting looking for new furniture for our home we visited several stores before arriving at Ethen Allen. On our first visit to Ethen Allen we were introduced to Baharan and we immediately realized we had found someone who knew her business! Baha was extremely helpful in our furniture and decorating decisions throughout our selection process. We Recently purchased a beautiful couch from Ethan Allen and had a pleasant experience. We went in in September and fell in love with a couch. Unfortunately, like everywhere else, during these times, the orders were taking months, and were not expecting to receive our couch till March. To our surprise , our couch arrived in November, and it was even more beautiful then we imagined it would be . The quality, stye and workmanship was definitely worth the wait and money.Maureen at Ethan Allen was very professional, helpful and honest. She was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. We would definitely recommend Ethan Allen and look forward to shopping here again!!

All of the big pieces of furniture in our house are from Ethan Allen (back when they were located in Sundance), and we've been very happy. Their designers are friendly and eager to help. Only complaint is one item that took 20 weeks to arrive instead of the quoted 12 weeks, with no clear communication of when we would actually get it. For a piece of furniture you'll have for years and years it's a small complaint, but something to work on. Edit: I've since learned that the management at this Ethan Allen store changed shortly after the incident I commented about above. Also, we bought a new piece in early December and everything was great. Highly recommended!

I am a new costumer to Ethan Allen and fell in love with some of their furniture for the recent upgrading to my condo. I was hesitant as to how my pieces were going to look in my condo and had the pleasure of working with Baharan as a trusted home interior stylist. She came to my condo to help with the process and made some recommendations as to what would work best in the space and design I currently had. She was extremely personable, professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. Kushpreet our store designer was fantastic. However service is very slow. We have a dining room table that does not open or close and still have not been contacted by the service team -1 month later. Disappointed with this. Also suggest Ethan Allen keep some stock of accessories as most people do not want to wait another 3 months for them since they all have to be ordered. As a result I bought elsewhere. We still love the furniture but having bought Ethan Allen for last 30 years found service has gone down. Will not purchase more unless Ethan Allen addresses their service.

In the summer we had an Ethan Allen consultant come out to our house to help us furnish our small and oddly shaped living room. Baha was professional and kind while measuring our room. We met a couple of days later and the design she came up with was perfect. She was so patient with us as she pulled out fabric after fabric to find us the perfect fabrics for our couch and chairs. The whole experience was so easy that we just went back to baha at Ethan Allen for our kitchen table and chairs for yet another easy amazing experience.

Amazing place to shop and exceptional staff. Baharan one of Ethan Allen designers walked me and my wife through the beautiful store for almost an hour and answered all our questions about redesigning our bedroom with amazing suggestions that we never imagined. We got every information we need and will ask her to come over and help us with final design. We can’t wait to finish our home renovation and purchase items Baharan suggested for our bedroom and walk in closet. Thank you Ethan Allen and thank you Baharan.

Wonderful experience from the moment we walked in the door of this beautiful store. Tara was a pleasure to work with, so knowledgeable and and her colour and furniture suggestions were perfect. She came to our home to measure to make sure the furniture was a perfect, she was here when the furniture was delivered and supervised placement. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tara, Ethan Allen and the wonderful staff, the furniture is beautiful, we are very happy that we walked in that door.

Ethan Allen furniture is beautiful but the execution of the product is sorely lacking. Quality aside, once ordered, you might not ever realize or experience the elegance of an Ethan Allen product in your home. With a declared six week turn around time, the truth is that it can take 6mos to ??? to get your furniture which is unacceptable for the price.

Outstanding quality, materials and selection. Their sale promotions offer fantastic value. Service is also excellent. Amir is absolutely wonderful to deal with. While modern pieces certainy have their place, I'm so grateful that EA still carries traditional and contemporary-traditional pieces in their collections. Thank you!!

Ordered $5000+ sofa. The salesperson was wonderful, the delivery was good, however, the quality of the sofa is poor because the back cushions did not fit the sofa properly . This problem should have been caught and corrected at the factory, not at the customer's house. We are currently waiting for replacement cushions.

Went in fully prepared to buy a bed. They only had discontinued mattresses (can't order) that "MAYBE you could buy the floor model". Theyre covered in 10,000 pillows each so you can't test them. Off-putting, stuck up staff that were completely unhelpful.
