I was looking throughout Wpg for a special pair of Birkenstock sandals for my wife's Christmas gift. Every major store/box store didn't have them in stock, and they were out of season. As a "last ditch" attempt, I called the European Shoe Shop and spoke with a very friendly lady.... the store HAD THE EXACT BRAND AND SIZE THAT I NEEDED FOR MY WIFE. I arrived at the store within the hour and picked them up. The lady asked if I would like them gift wrapped... I said, "Sure.. thank you!" She then gave the shoes/box to another lady who went to the back of the store. Five minutes later, the lady came back with a beautifully wrapped AND bowed present. I said that my wife would definitely know that I couldn't have wrapped this gift... it was a "work of art"... They didn't want anything extra for the wrapping... I said that I would have gladly paid for this extra "above and beyond service." I HIGHLY recommend that anyone looking for beautiful dress shoes and sandals for men and ladies... you have to go to the EUROPEAN SHOE SHOP and be assisted by these awesome ladies/staff. p.s. I bought these Dec. 23rd mid-afternoon. I'm usually a Dec. 24th shopper... as a man, I get my "best shopping work done on the 24th".

I walked in the store wearing shorts and a tank top. Staff (2 different people) walked past me 3 times and did not acknowledge me. I browsed the Mephisto sandal rack and selected 2 styles for sizing. Again, staff walked past me and ignored me. I walked around carrying the sandals and staff passed me again, making no effort to check if I had been helped. I sat down and again was passed by. Then staff walked past me to a ‘better dressed’ customer and greeted her (she had just walked in the store) and began assisting her. I promptly left. I found the sandals I wanted at a different business, where I was greeted immediately upon entering the store, received the size I required, and purchased them at a price of $40 less than what the European Shoe Store was asking. I like to support small businesses but when the price is $40 more than elsewhere, I would expect STELLAR service, no matter what I’m wearing!!!!! Will not return!

Excellent service. No need to guess your size, they simply measure you. I've been buying my burkenstock cook shoes here for over a decade, and I'm only on my third pair today. Offered a service discount for working in the industry as a courtesy, will def return in the future. I actually waiting to come to this store as I'm actually 2 hours outta town but I never regret shopping here. Good to know theyve kept an excellent service consistent this long. Excellent building, service product, all around professional.

Academy shoe shop is one of the few places I can buy shoes, because of my unusual foot size (long and narrow). This is a FULL service shop, they will go to great lengths to find a shoe that fits your foot. There shoes are somewhat pricey, but they are high quality. That, and the fact that they will spend an hour scouring the store finding something that fits, has earned my repeat business for over 15 years.

I don't often write reviews about stores as I hate shopping. However, the service at European shoe shop is exceptional. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff members who always go above and beyond to help me find the perfect shoe. They actually make shoe shopping a pleasant experience. I have been buying my Birkenstocks and other dress shoes here for 15 years now. Highly recommend them

If you would like a well built pair of shoes or have special requirements for your footwear this place is the perfect pick. My Mom was taken to this very location when she was 5 years old to get shoes for her specific needs (different shop owners, naturally!) and its super cool that it's still a great place to get footwear.

Excellent and very professional staff! They carry a huge variety of great quality shoe ware One big problem is to find smaller sizes, and they don’t order in. I also noticed that they don’t carry much Italian ladies shoes! I must say Italian are the best and most fashionable.
