This place is spacious and has a great vibe, it could definitely cater a big group with both indoor and outdoor options. The photos on Google Review are not updated, they have an updated menu with more appealing options. We tried a few different menu, but my faves are the brisket burger ( it came with a dipping sauce) and the chilli scrambled egg (classic but tasty). The coffee taste ok, it was not burnt when served to us. You should check out their outdoor setting at their backyard it's a great vibe.

Post-Stage 4 Covid update 22 Nov 2020: First time visiting after lockdown eased, this place is still a pleasant and super friendly experience. Coffee is excellent and consistent as ever. Menu range is a little smaller but still great. Non-menu items in the counter window.. highly recommend the homemade sausage roll. Super friendly and interactive staff, made the kids feel comfortable. Keeping the 5 stars. Added some more pics. Update to my review: this place still lives up to the 5 star rating I previously gave. Service is excellent and consistent. Added more photos. Original review: Great atmosphere and organic vibe in this place. Nice cosy covered outdoor area at the rear with some planter boxes and a cubby house for the kids. The coffee is great and so is the quality of service. We'll presented gramworthy meals. The pork belly pancakes were delicious!
✳✳✳ A LOCAL GEM ✳✳✳ ☆ I've been ordering coffee in Yarraville and Seddon for a while now and I can't believe I never knew about this gorgeous cafe! ☆ Service was exceptional from the moment we walked in. The staff greeted us with a smile and offered us a table in their court yard. ☆ Very COVID-safe. The tables were spread out and density limits were adhered to. ☆ Loved sitting next to the vegetable and herb garden. ☆ Coffee arrived at our table very quickly. ☆ Ordered the 'Avocado on Toast' and 'Buttermilk Chicken Burger'. Very generous servings and were delicious. We were left feeling full for the rest of the day. ☆ We sat and enjoyed the sun for quite a while. Staff never rushed us and we never felt forced to leave, even though we had finished our meals. Thank you for the wonderful experience. We'll be sure to visit again very soon!
We are never disappointed coming here. The food is always super fresh, tasty and delicious. Considering how busy they were the food came out not long after we ordered which is always a bonus when you have small children. The coffee is always spot on and their service really can’t be beaten. The lovely girl remembered our coffee order from the last time we were there! Can’t wait to see the Fig trees back in bloom soon!

First time back in 5yrs. I have to firstly say the young lady who was serving our table was very friendly her customer service was excellent ! Unfortunately the menu was out dated and boring...poached eggs were overly done all 4 plates came out cold, food was tasteless. Not a patch on the last time I was here, the young lady told us that the business was under new management! That would explain why the cafe was empty and the standard of food has dropped since the last I was there. Very disappointing.

A great little find, and a regular haunt for the entire family. Staff are attentive, friendly and all round great. The cafe owners are always around to greet guests, work on the floor and in the kitchen - a really nice couple. Food is wonderful. Good sizing, value for money and above all else - TASTY! The selection is varied, with some great recipes, and even kid friendly. Venue is clean, welcoming and comfortable. Highly recommended - have never been disappointed :)

If I could give 10 stars I would! One of my fav locals! I’ve been going here for years now and am never disappointed. Coffee and food are always amazing and Leo and his team make my family and I feel so welcome, no matter what day, time or how busy they are. We’ve also held a function here and the catering and service was wonderful. A must try if you haven’t yet! Xxx

A lovely café with a great menu. The food and coffee is delicious. I want with a friend around lunchtime. It wasn’t very busy. However the service was quite slow. We got the menu and then…. Nothing. My friend went up to order. Which wasn’t a big deal but could have been better. The food is great. We were sitting in the courtyard. It’s a lovely and charming place.

Had a lovely breakfast catch up with pals here, along with 2 babies. Staff were really attentive & friendly, atmosphere was fab and more importantly, the coffee and food was top notch. I had the chili scramble with the chorizo Ragu and it was delish! Very family friendly (it's dog friendly too!) Highly recommend, can't wait to head back. Thank you to the whole Fig and Walnut team for a lovely brekky!

The atmosphere was great. Lively enough with both indoor and covered outdoor seating. The selection of food was pretty decent and allowed for all tastes and many dietary factors. The service was good and the food ordered was prepared in a reasonable amount of time. The food however was hit and miss. Whilst we were delivered silky smooth drinks, the Chai Latte felt "lackluster" while the hot chocolate was perfect. The Smashed avo was worth the $21 and was perfectly balanced however the pea fritters missed the mark.
Really surprised how poor the food was given the reviews. I got the Baghdad eggs, it was drowned in oil and lacked any flavour other then cumin. It looked nothing like one of the photos I can see in the reviews. So not sure what happened there. My friend got the zucchini waffles and felt it was dry and needed a sauce or something. The coffee and service was good. But definitely wouldn’t return for food.

Visited a couple of months back with my little ones and sat out in the courtyard. The courtyard is kid friendly with a small cubby to play in and toilet available. We ordered some food and a hot chocolate which were delicious. The service was quick and friendly. On street parking available, but can be tricky at times.

A lovely cafe that serves great food and has a beautiful backyard with lots of plants for a lustrous look. Staffs are friendly and food comes out fast. We ordered the Acai bowl and mushroom on toast which both tasted deliciously.

A good place to sit with a nice ambiance indoors, they have a beautiful outdoor seating and a homey interior. Staff was very warm and helpful. Can be very full on Saturday but still in a bearable waiting time. The food that we order was the glen and it’s just okay, hoping the omelette is softer and fluffier than the one served to us. The eggs was too dry and the white and yellow is not mixed well. But overall still a great place to visit.
This is a child-friendly venue with an interesting and healthy menu. The staff are competent and friendly. My family meet here regularly - we have no reason to look elsewhere.

For a small cafe, it punches above expectations.
Such a wonderful place to have brunch. Not only is the food delicious, but the staff are so kind and welcoming and the vibes Immaculate. I think this will be my new go-to local cafe. I loved sitting out in the garden near the veggies and under the fig tree. When my friend and I said we’d never tried figs before the waiter plucked some off, washed them and gave them to us to try! Keep up the fab work. I’ll be back ASAP!
A lovely cafe around the neighbourhood, we love and enjoyed your brunch very much and were pleased with the service staffs being friendly and polite. Food portion were really wholesome and filling. Latte taste great too! Totally worth visiting.

Came back a couple weeks ago and the whole atmosphere feels off like nobody is really happy or cares total let down would be better off getting something from 711

What a hidden gem in Seddon tucked across from the Seddon train station! It is a beautiful, homey and chilled cafe. The venue itself is gorgeous with the cafe opening up to the courtyard in the back which is dog friendly! The service was attentive, fast and super friendly. Not to mention the great coffee and food.

Great little local find. Food and coffee has been great, service quick and friendly as well. There was an issue with one of our dishes and we let the staff know, quickly rectified and easy to address. I've only had positive experiences here, even when the cafe is full, food comes out quickly. Very happy

We had brunch here, and the food was absolutely delicious, as was the coffee! I asked for a couple of tweaks on my meal for dietary reasons, and it was done, which sounds simple, but a lot of places miss it on the docket, so was super nice
A typical hippie breakfast place in Melbourne's inner west suburbs..Fig & Walnut is located near Seddon train station, but it's it on the side, with nothing else around except houses. The frontage is an old shop of some sort, and it's sad
A lovely little gem definitely worth the try. Great vibe, service, presentation. Loved the aesthetic. Barista and chef both delivered exceptionally.

Firstly apologies as I should’ve taken a photo of the mushroom and truffle oil breakfast I had but I forgot so all you get is a selfie. The breakfast, soy cappuccino and cold-pressed green juice I had was above and
Coffee was good, smashed avo was tasty with their own flavours. Interior and atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Outside courtyard was great also Short distance from Footscray, free on-street parking out the front.
Lovely set up. We went mid week and it was nice and quiet. The courtyard was lovely with a plant wall and vege garden out the back. We had the Reuben sandwich and the okonomiyaki pancake. Coffee was nice too.
Lovely kid friendly court yard out the back with a cubby house. Great food and great service. Black coffees on point. Definitely a consistent great

Everytime I have come here my family and I have had a beautiful meal. Eggs are poached to perfection, kids hotcakes are delicious and food waiting times are short.
