This review is really to call out greasy industry practices. The staff and event itself were good, but two things bothered me. (1) I went to a Friday concert that felt rushed and sandwiched in before the usual Friday night club event. (Doors 7, show 8). The opening act seemed limited to maybe 4-5 songs max, perhaps a 20 minute set? Then, after the opening act I went outside for a smoke, assuming like the hundreds of other concerts I attended in my life there would be at least 30-45 minutes between sets. I was shocked to come back inside and the headline band was already playing, I missed a song. The break must have been 5-10 minutes, which is truly a departure from music industry standards. Longer breaks = more people buying bar drinks and merchandise from the band. This is however typical behaviour among the bars in Vancouver. It’s a greasy double dip tactic that started about a decade ago where bar owners cram two events into one night. The good venues don’t do this (ie: Commodore, Rickshaw), execpt on rare occasions where the same band does two shows. The concert should be the entire night’s entertainment, where bands aren’t rushed off the stage and patrons can enjoy a full night out. I would have stayed for “indie dance night” that was apparently to follow the concert but instead I didn’t see a DJ take over and it seemed like someone was just playing random club fluff from Spotify, not the advertised indie dance night. (2) the bar had a mandatory 15% gratuity on bar drinks, but the machine also prompted for another choice of tip while paying by my card. This is an obvious sleazy tactic, so I was a bit confused at first (not having been to Fortune for 2-3 years), and ended up double tipping. They’re banking on drunk and confused people double tipping, like I did when I was relatively sober and didn’t quite catch the sign until after. My mistake but it’s also preying on people makong mistakes and not catching on. I bet many drunk people double tip there all the time. Canada’s tipping culture is out of control and restaurant and bar owners have created this obscene tipping culture over decades which is now virtually impossible to roll back since it is so entrenched in the industry. Anyways just a couple red flags that need to be called out for greasy profiteering in the industry.
pretty much a scam -beware! Fortune soundcloud does not honor their ticket holders. A group of us paid ($35) for presale tickets to ensure our spot at the event. They did not let us in within a reasonable time. They held us in line for over 40minutes, without consulting the ticket list. They were only concerned with holding the line to build hype. I suggest you don't waste your money at this place. Go to The Fox, Portside, Lamplighter, The Biltmore Cabaret, or anywhere else to dance. Those places will honor their guest lists and let you in within a reasonable hour Even if you pay money in advance to be in Fortune Soundclup (as advertised, and sold) they will not honour their commitment. They care more about building hype by holding people outside. Those who have paid for any tickets are disregarded compltetly. The only way to get their attention is by threatening to talk to their manager. They do not care about their customers or those who support their establishment. This place use to be a great spot to listen to hiphop music and have a good night dancing. Now, it thinks that it can exploit its clients . Staff are incredibly rude bartenders and bouncers. This place never honors their capacity levels truthfully (or legally). They use cheap marketing tactics to exploit their consumers. Every club in the city is much better, ethicaly, morally, and legally.
I’m really not impressed. I checked my bag in and I kept my number in my pocket for the whole night. When it was time for me to go home, turns out the number didn’t match the number that my bag was tied to. I told the bag check lady that I could tell her EVERYTHING that was in my bag and I had my ID as well so that they could write my info down. She refused and said that if the number didn’t match, she couldn’t give it it me. I understand that you have to follow policy and what not, but I KEPT the ticket that they gave me and it turned out to be the wrong one. She said I had to wait until closing to file a lost and found complaint which was absurd to me. If I could tell her everything that was in my bag and if I had my ID with ALL my info on it, why couldn’t I get my bag back? I tried talking to the people downstairs and the bouncers as well and they told me the decision went down to the bag check lady. I’m upset about the lack of understanding that was displayed to me tonight. The fact that they expected me to wait an hour and a half for closing for me to get my stuff back that would allow me to get home safe was ridiculous. I’m extremely disappointed about the way I was treated as well. Things do happen and I really did not appreciate getting talked down on and being ignored when I tried to explain my situation. Please do better.
The staff is friendly and polite. The lighting is decent. The stage looks nice while the place is filling up. Leaves much to be desired as a concert venue. Might be OK on DJ-only nights. Poor design and layout creates a lack of visibility for people of average height or shorter; the stage is about 60 cm too short, which is the main flaw. I'm not sure if it's because of the lowish ceiling or not. My SO had a rough time trying to see anything. There are also structural posts which block views in certain spots. This can't be helped without some expensive changes however, but it's worth noting. Bar and soundbooth locations are a bit off too. There were also some roped off tables taking up space for no apparent reason. I will definitely avoid it for shows unless I absolutely MUST see the performer. Whoever did the design layout needs to revisit his/her drawings and hopefully learn from the mistakes. Maybe take a cue from The Commodore or the old Richard's on Richards or even Venue. Sound quality was OK but nothing special. The bass was too much. I like kick but I prefer fidelity. Maybe it was just the sound guy that night, I dunno. It also has to do with the space itself. They did attempt sound control with a pressboard layer on the ceiling. I doubt they consulted with a sound expert, however, considering the results.
Nice venue with good staff. I have seen two small acts play here, Chrome Sparks, and last weekend, Crumb. Unfortunately both times the audio was not perfect. When seeing chrome sparks I heard the person working the mixing desk say they had no idea what they were doing. This was pretty clear as the set went on. We had to leave from our ears ringing. Way too loud. Way too much Bass/Lowend. Crumb's sound was a lot better, however, you could tell the band was having issues with mic feedback. Overall they sounded good but the vocals were still too low. It's often tough to know whether it is the artists fault or the venue when the sound is imperfect both should work together to make sure things sound good. Unfortunately the bass at Fortune is often too high and it is tough to hear indie acts when they are preforming. In chrome sparks case the sound booth technician had no idea what they were doing (as I overheard them say). If Fortune Sound club wants to keep attracting small acts they should take their sound check more seriously and make sure their staff are knowledgable and are ensuring every act sounds their best. If another band I enjoy is playing at Fortune I will go see them, but If things are sub par this will be my last time.
I have nightmares when I think about how this place treated me. I don't even think I would give them 1 star. First off, I booked my reservation almost 3 weeks ahead and they still managed to book my table. When I arrived, they denied me access and told me they were full, to later find out I was the ONLY table there. 2 minutes into sitting down, I was informed I had to purchase a bottle right away to stay in the club, I asked to wait a bit until people started coming in and was treated very poorly. After mentioning I was in the Industry myself ( worked in Calgary, Toronto and Montreal ) I was made fun of by the MANAGER and basically told to sit down and give them my money. I felt bullied into giving this club $600. They even had the audacity to move our table throughout the night to accommodate other tables later on. As we left, the team thanked us for leaving. WHO thanks somebody for LEAVING? To make matters worse I had mentioned it was my sisters Birthday and was still treated this poorly. Worst experience ever, I don't recommend this place to anybody.
Bad clubbing experience. My friends and I felt incredibly humiliated and mistreated. We were waiting in line and had to use the bathroom. We had to beg to 3 different people to use the bathroom inside and got told incredibly rude remarks like “that’s not my problem wait in line”. We finally were able to go in because of ONE nice bouncer that asked to keep my ID with him while I went in. Once it was finally our turn to go inside, the other bouncer separated the girls from the boys in our group and let only the girls in first. We had to wait a while until we saw our friends again because apparently the doorman saw his “friends” at the back of the line and decided to let them in before us. We obviously had to comment on it and got a reply “are you telling me how to do my job?”. Finally once we were all inside, there was vomit everywhere and really drunk people slamming into others on the dance floor and causing fights. No security??? Suggestion for Fortune: Train your staff better!! Maybe some anger management and kindness workshops.
Wow, this is bar is run so badly and by employees that don't care about the business or the customers. I wish you could give 0 stars. The bar was not fully stocked on a Saturday night we tried to order multiple drinks but they didn't have the ingredients, and we had to tell one of the bar tenders how to make one of them. The other time we tried to order the bar tender said they didn't have the ingredients and immediately move on to serve someone else. We talked to the manager he just came up with excuses and gave us drink tickets to make up for the inconvenience but when we went to order a drink they said the drink ticket given to us doesn't work for that. The lights in the ladies washroom were out so you could not see when you were in a stall. At this point we were so frustrated and unhappy with service we wanted to leave all within an hour, we asked for our cover charge of $15 back then left without regrets. What was supposed to be a fun girls night turned into a very disappointing night. I'm never going back to that S**t hole.
The cover, too high- was like $20, 25?. I didn't have cash and I was visiting from out the country so I had to pay HELLA fees at that ATM. Coat check, very reasonable, I appreciated that. So I had a bartender that I was/still am obsessed with. She was super helpful and attentive. Not to mention SUPER ATTRACTIVE. She kept my friends and I well "juiced" and just added to my experience altogether. I would come again for her. So I don't remember her name because me memory is terrible and I don't know where my receipts are, but it started with a J. Jess? Jen? (she has a ton of tattooss, a tonnnnnnnnnn) But she was great. The club played uhm i would say mainly 90s hits? Not bad. My friends and I had a god time. Luckily we didn't have to wait in a line, so that was cool. We got there around 11something i believe... I like the fact that there are couches so I can sit my lazy self down.. Pretty solid crowd. Didn't have to use the bathroom but my friends did and had no complaints.
Staff has terrible public relations the coat check staff in particular when it comes to lost items. I had lost my jacket number. I knew the number and described the jacket down to the detail to the coat attendant there. Then she said I had to wait til closing to claim it. Or come back another day so I took a card and told her I'd email them seeing when I could pick it up. She then told me someone else must have taken my jacket and they didn't have it... I was quite disappointed on how they didn't care enough to make a mental note or write it down. Or even just go in the back to see if it was there.. I very respectfully and calmly complained to the attendant via email. And she started going off on me in a totally in professional manner. Blaming me for everything and talking to me like I was an idiot. Needless to say I am never going back there and have shared my negative experience with many people I know.
Last night I was at Fortune for emo night (DJs Le Chance, Christian Flores, and BB Coconut Buns made the night so fun), but unfortunately I lost my jacket which included my keys. Today I went to Fortune when doors opened to see if I can find my stuff, and am so impressed by the level of service I received. Steven & Angelo gave me info this morning, before the club opened. Dave at the door reassured me all along the way, Kingsley walked me to L&F then to the office, and Kingsley & Curtis went through security footage until we eventually located my jacket. I’ve contacted the girl who has it, and my jacket/keys will be delivered to me in an hour :’) After 24 hours, I can’t wait to finally go home. I am so appreciative of the team & can’t wait to go to the next event and support this crew. Hopefully they’ll do Choosy soon - that was one of my fav nights <3
Zero star if possible, was pulled aside where there’s no camera and was asked for extra 50dollars to get in for not bringing my physical id. So you do know what you did is not legal and should not be recorded huh? Even rogers doesn’t rob like this, who TF are you? Plus the sounding was only mediocre, wow for your audacity to charge over 140 at gate. Now fellas remember to avoid this guy or he’ll charge you extra, what a scamnot going to visit this 5h1thole again

Great place for your retarded staff that’s obsessed with writing fake reviews once reading a complain. How abt putting this effort into improving your service and fee more ‘fairly’? Lol arshcloche
The place is run poorly. They hosted an event from an organizer not even in the country, who very sketchily sold $30 tickets that they later provided for free, inexplicably — didn’t even have the music organized ‘til the day prior. I attended with a ticket I had purchased and had some liquor in my bag I was transparent about, planning to check it at the entrance. However, they were not receptive to this, so agreed to take it off their premises. They then suddenly stated I would be refused entry indisputably for the night. This leaves me with having to try, likely in vain, to obtain a refund from said sketchy organizer. Not an enjoyable interaction — would not recommend.
I came here very late on Saturday night to catch up with a few friends who were in town. The line wasn't too long and the security staff were being polite and efficient in handling outdoor traffic. Once I got into the club, the music was good, everyone was being served quickly and accurately. The dance floor was busy and overall the mood seemed light - a good night out. Special shout out to Curtis at the back bar who wowed me with service by going out of the way to inform me of last call when I went up once to grab a drink. I hadn't realized it was so late and he was there to make sure I had the best possible night out. Thanks!
Friday 6 March 2020 Amazing DJ but we had a weird experience getting into the club.. I signed up to be on the guestlist which indicated on the email I received that it would be free admission before 10:30. Upon entering the club before 10:30, the two girls at door told us to pay $17 each?? weird, so we left because we didnt expect it. As we were leaving, they called us back and let us in for free, pretty rudely and made us feel a little belittled for not wanting to pay.. Makes me think that they would've just pocketed the money if we had just paid
Rude bouncers got 3 tables in there and they still made me wait in line. I tried to talked to them nicely, but they wouldn’t listen and all they said was obviously u don’t work here so u wouldn’t know how it works. Saying money talks? When I already got 3 tables in there but these money hungry bouncers just wanted me to get another table Cz they so broke. Gotta pay ur staff better fortune and teach them to respect their customers. Let us know if u need any help setting up a go fund me for better bouncers. We’re happy to feed and educate the poor.
While Fortune is the ideal Vancouver venue for hip hip shows, any other type of concert or performance tends to suffer a bit. The layout can make shows feel very intimate if the performer is using the mic on the edge of the stage, or it can feel closed off if they're a DJ with the table further back. The drink menu involves $9 PBR cans and doubles that will require breaking a 50, while coat check runs another $4 and requires separately checking an umbrella. If I don't love an umbrella, I just end up chucking it in the corner when I go to Fortune.
Love this venue but it's disappointing they never have H2O accessible for their guests. Waiting 45 mins in a bar line for a bottle of water is unacceptable for the amount of people who were there drinking, and does not make it accessible. My friend was so thirsty she considered drinking from the filthy bathroom sink. For a bottle of water, one bartender charged me $4.75, another $5.27, another one didn't charge me at all. Please consider having a separate (free) water station that is actually accessible to your patrons in need.
My friend got my entire friend group on the list 4 days prior to attending Fortune Sound Club yesterday. My entire friend group is white and I was the only person of color in the group. The staff gave every single one of my friends a ticket except for me, despite how I was on the list. They repeatedly skipped my name on the list and left me until last to give a ticket to. I felt completely disregarded and discriminated against at this club. If you are Black or a person of color, please beware of this establishment.
Came here last year for Halloween spent $20 Dollars on my ticket was told at the door that I had bought tickets for the early show (5:30pm) and that now there were new tickets to get in, and then I had to pay an additional $30 just to get in. Apparently everyone who bought the 5:30 ticket was kicked out at 10pm if they didn't upgrade (ie pay $30 extra) I would not recommend this place to anyone, staff is out to take advantage of drunk Vancouverites and get as much money as possible off anyone they can.
This place is traaaaaaash. I'm sure it could be fun if their staff wasn't drunk on shift. Be careful here! They are not paying attention, dont understand bar watch and will harass you if hey deem fit. We have been accused of theft without stealing anything here - they will threaten you with the police but hold out!! Just a threat n they probably wont call (especially when they know they're wrong). Can definitely be a scary experience but as long as you advocate for yourself they'll F*** off :)
This club is hot garbage. Crowded, overheated, rude goofs and pushy clientele. The one bouncer outside is aggressive. Think he was the one who got blasted on TikTok for being homophobic. Sound quality is decent, but not the best. Thank god for some of the security and staff who are friendly. They save this from being a total dumpster dive. Only come if you really want to see your favorite act. Otherwise, avoid club nights and everything else.

From Friday till Monday, Fortune will have you covered. Best club if you like to full send. Highly recommend you go there on a Monday and skip work on Tuesday, it's worth it. Staff and promoters have a great balance of professionality and friendliness. If you ever need anything, just ask Sam at the front--he's got you covered. Left my jacket there one time and Sam was more than happy to grab it for me on his day-off, my wallets and keys still inside!
Went for a 90s/2000s hip hop and r&b night and the DJ kept playing chris brown every 2-3 songs. Really really questionable behaviour considering he is a known abuser. Not really okay in my books and made me never want to come back. There’s PLENTY of great music from those eras .. seems like the dj has some weird love for a man who’s known for beating women. Not cool at all and made me feel uncomfortable.

Had a pathetic experience The bouncer beat us up to act cool in front of his girlfriend and started flaunting that the police cant do anything to him because he is a PR holder. He asked us not to come near that block and that he would beat us if we did and also tried to snatch our wallets.

Had an awesome time at Fortune. Staff were keeping up with the demand regardless of the amount of work they had. Noticed that the staff/bouncer at the front named “Trent” was very efficient with handling entrance without slowing traffic as well as effectively aiding my friend who needed fresh air to recover and sober up outside the building. Would come again due to the impression made by staff, even on a busy night!
Been a regular at fortune sound club for about 3 years now. This place never fails to amuse me every time I go. Best sound system in the entire BC I would say. You can feel the beats inside of your body. Gave me goosebumps. Best DJ’s that play hip-hop and pop music. And the drinks and bottle service are very reasonable. This is a must if you love clubbing and dancing to the most popular songs with your friends.
Save your money and go literally anywhere else. These people don’t care about their customers, the bouncers here are just glorified statues who don’t want to do their job but rather discriminate and bully people. I don’t know how many times people will need to speak up before their management decides to make a change but save yourself the time you will spend worrying about your safety in a place like this.
So my daughter left her jacket and hoodie here by accident. She went to pick it up and there was a mix-up at the door. After a bit of clarification Geordie and his crew went out of their way, on Christmas Eve no less, to make things better and get Claire's jacket to her. You literally can't get a higher level of professionalism and customer relations than that. Really, really impressive. Thanks again!
The place gets really crowded, which is tough for a person that like a to bust a move. The lineups are insane. If you aren't going to the main room (like myself) the line up will be discouraging. Thankfully I never had to wait in it. Staff outside are friendly which is a plus..they handle the crowded lineup really well. And the inside staff are polite and helpful. For that I would come back again.
the staff are so rude and on some sort of power trip, they all look like they hate their jobs and make you feel like you’re an inconvenience for just being there. it seems like other people had a similar experience, looks like you guys need new staff or better training. it sucks because there are some good artists that perform there but the way the staff makes you feel ruins the experience
I was able to see an incredible show by Georgias Mattiel here. What an awesome venue! The size is what you want for an intimate concert/show. They support local artists, the drinks are semi-reasonable and the place also doubles as a club. I’d recommend this place if any of your favourite bands are playing here. It has an awesome location, and the aesthetics of the place are just cool.
Easily the best club in Vancouver. With the least amount of attitude and a focus on the "talent." Fortune consistently brings the best shows to Vancouver that aren't on a "Commodore" or "Vogue" level, hands-down without a doubt. Pulling a close 2nd is Celebs, but doesn't compare because of the sheer unique location of Fortune, outside the kids/teeny-boppers playground of Granville.
Attended the post malone after party event. Showed up at 10:40 and there were about 5 people. The place was still half empty at 12. Watched 5 staff try and figure out how to keep a beer floaty stable for 20 mins (which was the best part of the night). I ordered a double shot long island which was $15 and it just tasted like coke. Would not come here again.
One of the best music venues in Vancouver. Small space with consistently good sound. On Fridays and Saturdays gigs start and finish early so they transform into a club. Google is under the misapprehension that this is a restaurant, but it is absolutely a bar/club.

Personally DJ'd here for a fundraiser and had a blast! Staff was super helpful for setup and takedown! They have amazing sound quality! I've always had a good time here. Most people have great vibes and the music is usually very good! Love the bass music / EDM shows they have had there. Prices are good and they have good and friendly staff.
Saw Alexander Louis play here which was fantastic! Cool open dance floor layout with some lounge seats in the back. Really cool neon sign inside and great service, would definitely go back. G-man is the Man! Best trap / hip hop shows in Vancouver by far. Had pancakes at an art gallery there as well, sick event, great venue.
It was a good little venue. sound quality was good. Host were polite from the ticket taker to the Bar server! They had complementary water and clean glasses. Bathroom could use some TLC but when you go to a show your not really thinking hmm I think I'll go inspect the facilities. Overall enjoyable. The lighting was
Unfortunately when a band you really want to see plays at this venue, you have to accept the following: the sound system is really bad, you enter the room into the middle of the crowd - the layout is terrible - the bars are difficult to access when it's at capacity, the drink selection is average and they're expensive.
Came here to watch a show. Space is narrow and a bit tight. Would have been nice for an intimate setup. But there are no tables and literally less than a handful of stools. If you're not tall, there's a slim chance you would be able to see the stage unless you're up front. Ledges are gross sticky. Sound quality is OK.
On a good night its a 5 star but a lot of the time the DJ plays songs that nobody really knows, I listen to almost all popular rap thats out so if I don't know most of the songs thats sorta an issue. Also sometimes the music isn't very danceable so thats another issue. Great venue, layout, and interior design
The speakers were alright, however the floor layout design doesn’t really work that well for live concert, if you are short and in the back then you wont be able to see anything. im 6’2” and still having hard time, so my tip is if you are seeing a concert go as early as possible to be in the front.
I went there for a concert and it was it really fun. Air quality is really bad due to people vaping indoors when they're not supposed to. Really cramp too was not really much room to dance and enjoy the evening.

It opens at 10pm, so we went there at 10pm. we were able to get in at 12:30. They let in the person who gives more money to the staff first. And the staff said $25 when I was in line, but $35 when I paid. And the locker is $4 per item. The song was so good, but I think it's a money-mad club.
Very poorly executed admission, had my bong stolen because security made me leave it outside, like you let me bring an entire God damn jar of weed inside but not a bong? Absolutely horrible staff protocol, the music and entertainment was good but unfortunately I will not be coming back.
I had a great night at the Halloween anime music night. They have two floors and can have cool niche events in the small studio downstairs. The front door staff were lovely and took us out after the party to another few places! Really showed us a great night. Thank you Raquel and co.!
First time going to Fortune last night. The event was really fun but the door lady was extremely rude and racist towards Latin people/artists. It really started the night out badly. Very unfortunate and a bad look for the establishment. An embarrassment.
I really enjoy Fortune. The staff are pretty friendly for a nightclub. Out of all the "mainstream" clubs in downtown, I think that this club has the best music. They have a nice big dance floor, which is something I think a lot of Vancouver venues lack.
Pretty good club for Vancouver. The crowd seems to be consistently better here than other areas and they get some great shows. I didn't find the sound system lived up to the hype though; it's crisp, but not powerful enough. Still, good times to be had!
I turned 19 during Covid. So just recently I’ve been trying to find my vibe at a club. Fortune has honestly hit the spot. It has the perfect mix of socializing and dancing. Every single time I make new club friends. Can’t wait to go next Friday.
Been coming to fortune since the first day I was 19. Kissed my girlfriend there. That's cool, try it out for yourself sometime. Idk, live your life. Sam, raquelle, cole and all the staff are always extremely helpful and gREEAAAATTTT to talk to.
Bought a table for $1800 didn’t even come with any hostes to make my drinks me and my friends had to make them. One general manger there has power trips over people and should be fired. Terrible experience won’t be spending money there again.
Worst bar in Vancouver the bouncers go out of there way to be excessively aggressive to there patrons. Bouncers made rude comments towards me and my friends refused to let me stand on the stairs for a second to wait for my friends to get in.
i only go here for babes on babes and it is absolutely wonderful. can't speak to how it is on a typical night but the crowd & music at babes is always top tier. great facilities and super cool when middle earth is open for the rave vibes.
I had an amazing time here at Fortune Sound Club. The staff was amazing and the reason of being there was an added bonus thank you to openconcept for a platform and to fortune for a place to have the platform …
Good event space near the heart of downtown Vancouver , nice staff , great environment to be in especially if you if you're in the music industry . booked multiple shows at this club everything has been great each time .
I've had some good times here. You've gotta be really drunk, though. The crowd is "hype" and not very cultured but sometimes it's fun to pretend you're a bimbo with some gal pals, just watch out for the creepy older men.
Wow, what a joke. Even if you pay in advance for a ticket, you are not a priority; all they want is cash. Even artists should avoid booking this venue, your fans will be displeased. Incredibly rude service as well.
This place will have promotions to get you in the door but then won’t deliver. They water down drinks so much that you’ll need at least 10. No matter what anyone says this is a bottom tier club in Vancouver
Went to an event on February 15th and paid $10. I can not believe people pay $22 to get into this club. Music was terrible the only up side was there were some cute girls there. Not at fan of this place.
Not impressed threw out a 18 year old who was black out or drugged without any of her friends found her wondering in a bad area not a responsible club maybe we should start with proper ID of people
I visited Vancouver from America as a 19 year old, so this was my first ever clubbing experience and I had a blast! The crowd was hype, the music was fun, and it was overall very enjoyable.
Please DO NOT come to this space unless you absolutely have to for your favourite gig. Wish I can give zero star. Terrible small space, aggressive staffs and the most trash sound system.
The sound in this place is unlike anything I've felt outside of a music festival. By far one of my favorite clubs in Vancouver, super cool vibe and it's always a fun time on weekends.
One of the best concert venues in the city. Shows here are always tons of fun, pretty cheap, and energetic, plus Fortune has a great sound system. Awesome place to see live music.
Fat Mao has a small menu which makes choosing what to eat really easy! Plus every single item is delicious. A great place to eat with friends during the chilly days <33
This is BY FAR my favourite place to go out. The music is always great and the staff are all lovely, especially Raquelle and Sam. Never have had a bad time at Fortune!
Hospitality by the staff was amazing. Shalini & Raquel were great at helping me charge my phone and making sure I got home safe. So pleasant. Can’t wait to come back!
The best part of our night was waiting outside in line for no good reason and showing 2 pieces of ID to 4-5 different people. It did not go better from there
Sketchy part of town. Questionable people that attend - a lot of stalker type older men. Staff was incredibly friendly but the crowd put me a little on edge

Nice place to dance and meet people, each day different music, the ambience is young and well dress. Nice night club to meet people and dance in Vancouver
They posted a giveaway on their Instagram and then deleted it on the day they were going to announce winner and ignored any DMs about it.. kinda sketch.
The manager and his friends hit on my friends after we told him they felt uncomfortable and weren't single. Never coming back. Worst club in Vancouver.
Awesome place! Stylish new-meets-old decor, with a spacious dance floor and amazing, bass-thumping sound. The best part? The gorgeous, CLEAN bathroom!
the sound system IS really good, however the stage is pretty low (sight lines), not much seating, service is meh, and drinks are really expensive.
A decent sound system that they played a range of rap music and mild trap music on. In total, an enjoyable place if that is the music you like.
great music venue. I've performed here and also seen many shows. Even tho it's in a dirty area of town the venue is great. sound is great.
Security can be pretty rude and kill the vibe for no reason, the atmospheres great.

Absolute favourite venue or bar in all of Vancouver. Great shows for the hip hop scene. Lots of room to enjoy and dance. Drinks are pricy
Great music, and the staff are friendly. A little too crowded and it's super hard to order a drink with the crowed and loud music aha
best club that throws the best shows, love it and would recommend to anyone for an more intimate show setting with the performer
Staff were friendly and very professional about their jobs, fee airly clean for a bar!

Club and sound system quite good for Vancouver. However they don't accept any debit or credit card and service is quite poor.
Went to the Fortune Sound Club for the Pancakes and Booze Art Show. The venue was really nice and the event was really fun!
such a great place! Solid people! Raquelle and Sam always make sure we have a dope time and always up for a good chat!
I guess if you like nightclubs, sure? Expensive, loud, and who the hell would ever pay $300 for a two-six of Absolut?
Nice atmosphere. Good air ventilation - comfortable on a really hot night. Like that they support local artists too.
This place is really nice, been here for KOTD events and a few hip hop shows, I like the atmosphere and crowds here.
We were on the guestlist and they made us pay cover. But the girls behind us also on guestlist didn't have to pay.
One of my favorite places in town. The energy and vibe is always on point. Midnight Mondays is always a good time.
Severely disappointed by the lack of chicken on the Monday free chicken night. Please buy more chicken next time !
Expensive drinks and grungy, but the service was impeccable

$25 cover charge for some whack music....best for rich kids and drug dealers alike. Not impressed...and $10+beers
April17, 2018- Has a decent selection of events and bands. Nice location inside but sketchy area. Pricey drinks
Fun place depending on what music you like and what night of the week it is! But sketchy location so be safe!!!
The sound is amazing, the atmosphere was chill and the drinks were delicious. Great place to see The Palms!!!
As a club: I didn't have a great time - though I'm not a big club enjoyer. As a concert venue: pretty great.
Pft. Bouncers don't care how long you wait in line. Says they have 4 rooms but two are just sitting rooms.
