Where do we begin? Since the first day we got Bean, he had had challenges with his health. With every challenge Four Corners Veterinary Practice (FCVP) was always there for us. Be it his rabbit mites, kennel cough, allergies, ear infections, diabetes, blindness, cushings and eventually cancer… Dr. Roccaro and the rest of the FCVP team always did what they could, or made the necessary referrals to help us and they stood in Bean’s corner giving him the foundation and support he needed to fight against whatever he was going through. We almost lost bean on several occasions, where the outlook for him was grim. Time after time Beanie fought to survive and he always recovered from whatever he was going through. Sometimes that recovery was so remarkable that Dr. Rocarro commented the he could not believe it was the same dog or he could not believe how good Bean looked. Bean never gave up and was a true fighter, which made it easy for us to decide that whatever he needed, regardless of costs… we would do whatever it took to help him fight. He wanted to live and we would not let anything deprive him of doing so. Bean was happy, smart, and possessed an incredible personality… unlike I have ever seen in a canine. He was more than a pet or loving companion. He was more than part of the family. Bean was a part of my wife and I. Our lives revolved around him and we were happy to live life the way we did taking care of our Baby Boy. Some will never understand how we felt about Bean and why we went through the sacrifices we did for him. But we feel as though Bean understood and appreciated it. Thats all we needed. Bean has been with us for just over 15 years and we spent every day with him, except when he was hospitalized. Otherwise he was with us every single day and he was a huge part of our lives. Now that his heart has expired, we have to figure out how our lives work without him. There’s a long journey ahead… but my wife and I will do it together. We are so thankful for FCVP for being there when we needed them to help Bean when he was hurting or even just for nail trimmings. FCVP always treated us with courtesy and respect and accommodated us in times of need. Thanks Dr. Roccaro for the special considerations in the difficult time during Bean’s end of life process. Finally, Mary and I would like to thank everyone at FCVP their heartfelt sympathies. We really do appreciate it. If and when we are ready for another pup... We will look forward to having FCVP in our corner again... and we will continue recommend you to our friends and family... as we have done since day one. Thank you for all you do... Initially I really liked this vet. Been there a few times with my cat - friendly staff and doctors. I had an incident where my cat was constantly throwing up and I called them to see if I can come in and have my cat evaluated. They said the vets weren't available because they were doing surgery and sent me to Greater Staten Island Veterinary Services. There they did an X-ray and gave my cat some liquid and could not find out what was wrong. This cost me hundreds of dollars. Few days later my cat starts throwing up again and I call the vet to get an appointment. They said they are all booked up and to go back to that Vet hospital for blood work even though they had personally not examined my cat. Now I am thinking this blood work is going to cost me another few hundred dollars and all this Vet hospital cares about is making money because when I called them there response was "come by we can do whatever test you want". I was very disappointment in four corners because they didn't seem to care about how much this was going to cost me (which is important to me because I can't afford to pay hundreds of dollars on a visit to do tests without any hypothesis or reason) and this was just a way to get me off the phone because they didn't want to deal with it. Instead I choose to have a second opinion at another Vet and they were able to diagnose my cat in five minutes. She just was constipated and needed to go to the bathroom which was making her throw up. They gave me liquid to help her go to the bathroom and I have not had an issue with my cat since. This was over a year ago now. If I were to listen to four corners, I would be thousands of dollars in the read , with no diagnosis, and a big headache and anxiety on my hands. Both Four Corners and Greater Staten Island Vet are incompetent. I have not gone back there and even though they seem nice I would think twice about how they go about diagnosing and caring for your pet and ultimately for you. You could be spending thousands doing unnecessary things to solve something fairly simple and a vet that doesn't take that into consideration is not a very good one. This is also my first google review ever so I really felt wronged by them and wanted other people to read my experience and think twice.

I started going to Four Corners Vet Practice back in 2003. There, I got excellent vet care for my pets as well as my rescue cats. I visited Four Corners about once a month and got to know everyone at Four Corners. In 2010, I left Staten Island to pursue my education in central New York, Michigan and Maine. I didn't realize what I had at Four Corners until I left. Since I've moved around every few years, there have been many vets in my life. I have been disappointed many times by the vet care my cats have received. Sometimes, only a vet tech. has treated my cat and I found out later. Other times, I was overcharged and was not expecting it because of inaccurate estimates. Other times, a vet overlooked conditions and diseases what would have been identified by Dr. Maritato. Recently, I contacted Dr. Melina Maritato because I was frazzled and frustrated by an illness in my cat since September, 2022 which went undiagnosed by a vet in Maine. I was desperate when I called her on the phone, and she knew what to do immediately. She helped me diagnose my cat with liver cancer but too late to treat, and he died on 1/16/23. Without her help, I would have never known what the problem was. I have also had many excellent experiences with Dr. Greg Roccaro as well. Even trips to the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan were disappointing because you are seen by a student who lacks the experience and knowledge that you need, but you pay top dollar. Four Corners is hands-down, the best vet in the Northeast. I highly recommend them. Don't waste your time and money on anybody else. I would gladly drive the >12 hours to their office any time. Run, don't walk, to Four Corners!

I came to this place after reading positive reviews on google and just had to write about them. After having a negative experience with going to another vet and then another local Vet hospital where people were indifferent and hurried me up with my questions, inattentive and even seemed angry and irritated, after spending a lot of money and mental energy on trying to find a solution, and not getting a clear picture, this place is a breath of fresh air. Every person I came in contact with at Four Corners was highly professional, attentive and genuinely caring. Means the world when your pet is elderly and really sick. I appreciated how they cared about my pet by bringing up how well-behaved he was and that Melina explained everything to me while being genuinely concerned about my cat’s wellbeing. My cat might never recover but kindness and care go a long way. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a vet on st island and would advise not to go anywhere else.

Our family and I put down our 6 year old Yorkie yesterday. This was the most horrible thing we could ever image having to do. There are no words to describe the pain that we are in right now, but we know that our little guy is at peace. I guess that is what is important, and we will never forget him. The level of service, professionalism, compassion and love that the staff and doctors showed us was unprecedented. There is no online review or amount of stars that I can give them, as it simply would not be enough. Five stars does not cut it. We gave our pet a great life, and did everything in our power to save him. I am forever grateful for the treatment that we received at Four Corners. Everyone there truly loves what they do, and loves every animal unconditionally. Just an amazing group of people there….. Thank you !!!!!

I'm not exaggerating when I say that this is the best veterinary practice I have ever been to. The Vets here are amazingly knowledgeable, highly effective, and super caring. The staff are all top professionals, and consistently provide outstanding service. I always have complete trust in the care provided to my many pets, and know that they are in the absolute best of hands. I always get follow up calls, both Vets always take their time during our office visits, are extremely thorough, and I never feel rushed. On the few times I have had to put one of my pets to sleep, both Vets and their staff are highly compassionate, and demonstrate absolute empathy. Everyone at this practice clearly places the patient before any profit--true animal lovers in every sense.

This vet practice is literally the BEST. I have a white Labrador Retriever and have been going to Dr. Roccaro for 8 years. He literally saved my dogs life. This is the most trustworthy vet practice there is in the tri state area. This vet practice is not here to make their clients spend as much money as possible, they actually do this because they LOVE the animals and want what’s best for them. If you can’t get an appointment with Dr. Rocarro, Dr. Maritato is also incredible. Both vets and all the vet techs talk to my dog with such love and get on the floor with her and rub her belly and all that good stuff!!! This vet practice is truly one in a million and both vets are so incredible at what they do. They are truly gems!

I take my fur baby Thea to this office. They are wonderful with her. Thea just had surgery 3 days ago the very next day they called and asked how she was doing post op. They were very caring and handled her so gently. Treat the pets as if they are their own.friendly staff greet the pets with love. When your there they make you feel comfortable that your not at just a "doctors office'. My Thea has anxiety but, when she's there she relaxes do to the warm welcoming environment.. I love both Doctor M and Doctor R very much for how well they care for my Thea. They both very skilled and patient... Definitely take you pet here!!!

My first experience with this office was last year when I would bring my dog of 16 years who eventually had to be put down. As painful as that day was, I still remember the outstanding kindness that the office and Doctor showed me afterwards. This past Friday I brought my other dog for assessment and check-up. The staff who work there are so sweet, which I appreciated. After my pup was brought in, Dr. Roccaro came out to talk to me and was beyond thorough and patient. He is wonderful! Even the follow-up calls I've received since that visit show that this office is one of a kind. Thank you so much for all that you do!

We were faced today with having to put our beautiful dog to sleep and ended up at Four Corners Veterinary on Richmond Rd. They were so nice, Dr.Roccaro and his assistant were so amazingly kind and empathetic. Throughout the process of putting her down, he literally kissed her multiple times. Its amazing to see a doctor who has been practicing for so long, caring so much. My only regret is not learning about their practice earlier. Thank you Dr. Roccaro and team! (As a bonus this is not corporate owned like most Vets these days, this is locally owned and run by Staten Islanders)

If I could give Four Corners Vet 10 stars I would. I've been to many vets on the island, and I cannot say enough praise about, not only Dr Greg Roccaro, but the staff & the technicians as well. The compassion, the time, the explanations, the honest opinion and more than anything, the bedside manner. Dr Roccaro sat on the floor with us numerous times and spoke to us like family. I'm so happy to have found Four Corners Veterinary. Everyone working there is caring, kind, and professional, and Dr. Maritato and Dr. Roccaro are exemplary. They are extremely thorough and follow up with a call after every visit to make sure my cats are on the mend. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the level of care and attention they provide. And the level of communication is excellent, something I can't say for other vets I've tried. I can't recommend this vet practice highly enough. Well worth the drive from Bay Ridge!

The vet clinic gets 5 stars for amazing professionalism. I can't express how courteous and knowledgeable they are. There isn't much I can say on their fee range. Initially it felt to be on the steeper side, but it is also within the expected amount and the service they provide there is well worth it. All the little details are there. Comfort blankets for stressed animals, treats and snacks to get through pet anxiety, a full spectrum of tests and procedures available: you name it. Highly recommended.

Dr Raccaro is AN AMAZING veterinarian!! He has treated my familys pets for over 20 years.. he is so smart , he has great bedside manner, and he truly cares about the animals he treats.. he also cares about the people who own the pets as well.. he stays up to date with new studies and is very knowledgeable!!! Over priced big time, probably because of location, being right at the bottom of Todt Hill what else could you expect? When my dog that passed was sick they kept pushing for a surgery that would just prolong her suffering another month or so, I could never do that to her, she was such a great dog that didn't deserve to suffer at all, not 1 min! So I changed Vets! I now go to complete care on Clove Rd, friendlier, nicer and much better vets that are reasonably priced to boot!

The doctors here sincerely love the animals. They are skilled, professional and caring individuals. Dr. Roccaro takes care of my dog the way he cares for his own pets. I highly recommend this veterinary practice. The doctors truly go above and beyond ... If your pet is sick or is having a problem, the office will always call you back in a timely manner and you always received a second follow-up call a day or two after. They actually check on your pet. Very caring practice.

Dr Roccaro is the gem of this place. If not for him may give a 3 or 4 stars review. He is above and beyond compassionate and kind. He has seen my older cats for several years and always took a balanced and realistic approach to their care. Scheduling is quick and easy but the facility is kind of underwhelming overall. The place is small, rooms are not really exceptionally clean but they are acceptable. Other staff is always kind but can be hit or miss with skill level.

I'm leaving the town and when I called my other vet he didn't want to prescribe more allergy medication for my dog without visit. Their next available visit is in few weeks. So I decided it's time to find someone else so I called 4 courners and they gave me appointment in few days and said no problem they will give me prescription. Ladies in the office are so nice and you can tell they care about animals and their owners.

I can't say enough good things about this practice. Dr. Maritato is The Best. Not only does she truly love my furbaby, my furbaby loves her right back and I don't know many folks whose babies LOVE to go to the vet. She's an excellent diagnostician and treats Lexi as if she's her own pet. The staff is great and friendly and Dr. Roccaro was great with her when he saw her. I would highly recommend to anyone in need of a vet.

Been going here since 1994. The absolute WORST. They purposely schedule more pets then they can see and force you to wait 40-60 minutes past your appointment time every time. But this time was the last time. Because of covid I had to wait outside in the rain with my cat for over 30 minutes. My advice, only use this unprofessional veterinary practice if you have no other choice.

Truly compassionate & careful with my babies! I took my two kitties for a checkup/physical & to get some x-rays done today. The entire staff was so so sweet to our family & were completely professional! The vet herself was so kind, gentle & thorough. My cats did not feel scared at all! Changed my 5 star review to 2 stars because their hours are wildly inconsistent. Constantly closed when they should be open. The doctor called us and said he would have a prescription ready for us in 15 minutes. Left right away and arrived in 15 minutes only to find that they're closed. At 2:00 on a Friday. This is beyond frustrating.
