I finally made it into this quaint, awesome store! I've lived nearby for a couple years but never had a motivation to go in until today. My 14 year old son and I were on a hunt for, "Old Bay" the french fries/burger seasoning. I had been unable to find it at several HEBs OR Randall's (i.e.Safeway). They had it at Fresh Plus! The prices were VERY reasonable and basically the same as the giant stores mentioned above. Another reason we went in...We were a bit sad that our own Crestview neighborhood store (Arlan's) was closing and becoming a Fresh Plus. I don't feel as bad after doing a search to find that Fresh Plus in locally owned: "...one of the oldest grocery stores in Austin. They opened their doors back in 1927..." I just don't like to see the "mom and pop stores" gobbled up by the giants. Support your locals! Best of luck Fresh Plus and welcome to Crestview!! All the Best, ~Scott

Update: I am thrilled to report that my remarks below regarding the limited ice cream selection are no longer true- Fresh Plus has added Lick Ice Cream to their line up. Thank you Fresh Plus! I deleted that comment from the bottom part of the review. Fresh Plus is our neighborhood go-to for things big and small. The staff are friendly and helpful and are always willing to help find a product not on their shelves. The store stocks a great selection of pretty much everything, including natural products and alcohol. We were thrilled when Fresh Plus expanded their hours earlier this year. Thanks for being such a huge part of our local community Fresh Plus! :-)

This is a convenient store if you live in the area however the prices are crazy and the quality is hit or miss. I’ve purchased dairy products from here that we’re spoiled, produce is small and expensive and the cheapest can of beans you can find it like 1.60 minimum. Recommend for a beer and wine stop, maybe some pantry snacks. Another thing is it always smells really bad especially in the meat department. I’m not sure why but it’s not good considering how everything there comes at a premium. I go if I’m in a pinch and need something quick but would not recommend buying all your groceries here unless you don’t care about quality and are made of money.

This store is in my neighborhood. It's on my way to work and they have a great selection of fresh, reasonably-priced produce and healthy foods. Most of the staff is friendly, and I always seem to find what I'm looking for. The only issue I ever had could have been a really tricky one. I bought a brand of garlic chicken sausage. I took it to work for lunch, got halfway though the link and thought it tasted "off". It turned out that it had been sold beyond its expiration date and had gone bad. I didn't get sick. I didn't even ask for my money back. Other than this singular experience, I've never had an issue here.

Fresh Plus is a great addition to the neighborhood. The produce selection is really awesome for the size of the store and is always fresh. Although you may pay a little more for your staples, the meat and produce is really affordable. They have a walk-in beer cooler with a great selection of beer and chilled white wines. They also have a well thought out wine selection around the corner. They also do a great job at carrying local products! It usually isn't very busy, so it is really easy to pop in and grab what you need without the head ache of the larger stores in the area.

This is a fantastic, small grocery store. They have a huge stock of healthcare products, a fantastic variety of vegetarian food, and great produce. They also have the random essentials (toilet paper, office supplies, cleaning supplies, etc) and it's not solely "health" food - they have plenty of items you'd find in a typical large store, like Doritos, soda, etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We do 100% of our grocery shopping here and never need to stop anywhere else for items because they have just about everything you would need.

This place is great! Probably because it is walking distance from my place is once factor, but the staff is so friendly and helpful! The selection is very good for the size of the store. Granted there are some things I can't always get from here, but it is fore sure the place to go for 90% of my shopping. I love the meat department here and the beer and wine selection is good too. If you haven't been here, go check it out the next time you need something; it is way more convenient to get to in rush hour then the local HEBs.

Overall a great, convenient shop! Good & reasonably priced variety of produce (only slightly more expensive than HEB; definitely not expensive as Whole Foods). Nice selection of non perishable/shelf goods but these items are definitely closer to Whole Foods prices. I deducted a star because service can be inconsistent; sometimes the cashier will be friendly and assist with packing your bag, other times it's the opposite, but in general I'm happy to have this place in the neighborhood!

Happy to see Fresh Plus in the neighborhood. While the bulk food section is gone and the health supplement offerings are reduced, the overall food selection is better than the former Sun Harvest, and the wines are better. They also carry local Austin herbal supplements, like Herbalogic, which is nice. I do miss being able to pick up a rotisserie chicken when there's no time to cook, though. Can a guy get a roasted bird sometime soon?

I love my little corner fresh plus grocery store. Even more so during 2020, 2021 ice storm and 2023 ice storm. There was toilet paper, fresh and healthy food selection. I don’t mind paying a little more in price for something so close and within walking distance..and it’s a good feeling knowing your helping a true Austin original stay open. We love you fresh plus! Thank you for always keeping the customer in mind at heart.

Fresh produce, great beef, and great service. Every employee there is incredibly friendly and helpful. Best surprise was seeing that some of my favorite products are there, and finding new things; there's also a bit of peanut-free stuff there, which is wonderful for when my boyfriend flies down. :) Also. Surprisingly good beer selection. Was not expecting that.

I won't be back after the treatment last night. Shopped there often but the 2 guys there last night were dry and not friendly at All. I was an overpriced paying customer as well so I don't appreciate them acting crunchy with me. If I was a little more pink,I wouldn't be posting because it Wouldn't have Happened. Sticking with Natural Grocer.

This place has so much potential. Great concept, friendly staff, good prices. It's a shame they can't get basic processes down, like keeping their coolers running. On multiple occasions, I've bought ice cream that's been crystallized from being thawed and refrozen, and I often see brown, not red, beef at the butcher counter. It's scary.

  • Ahmad Nasser

I liked how they had many organic produce, but I bought small tomatoes and after i checked out they asked me if i wanted my reciept, luckily i said yes. I found out that they cheated for the most part and charged me for the big tomato type. It may happened by a mistake but the serial no. was clear enough on the tomatoes i bought.

A great grocery store with all my favorites. A small local family owned grocery chain in Austin offering organic fruits, vegetables, Meats and many more things. Akaushi beef also available- a rare find. . This Kobe like meat is healthy and delicious. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Thanks.

  • Jeff Martin

Legendary Austin grocer...hard to find organics or everyday conventional items can be found in all locations. It is almost a right of passage to have worked at Fresh Plus, where the employees are as "Austin Cool" as those that shop there. Great service, selection and shopping. Keep Austin Local.

  • Valerie Lauderdale

I want to like this place and visit really often, but I often walk out with less than half my list filled. Seems like they're understaffed because the perishable quality control is not great. I've found moldy bread and milk 5 days out from the sell by date on the shelves more than once.

  • Jessica Whinery

Perfect little store in the neighborhood for last minute items. The employees are always friendly and helpful; they have great recommendations for supplements and viatamins. The prices are a little high but expected. My daughter LOVES the mini cart and "helps" with the shipping.

  • Nathan Dooley

A great little neighborhood grocery store! Considering the space limitations, there’s a surprising amount of variety. Good meats (including several smoked items), extensive array of supplements and alternative medicines, walk-in beer cooler, as well as all the grocery basics.

  • Kevin K

Very nice, friendly, local grocery store with many health conscious, vegan friendly options - really glad to have a shop like this still around - a bit on the pricier side yes but options are great and they even have their own butcher counter - y'all are amazing! Thank you!

  • william sparks

All of the Fresh Plus sites are well integrated into the neighborhoods they serve. Their product selection matches perfectly with the unique clientele. The service is helpful on the aisles and at the deli counter, the cashiers remember your face - even under the mask.

  • Emily Shumway

Excellent little neighborhood grocery store. Friendly staff. Plenty of selection to choose from. Great meat counter and deli. Beer fridge. Prices aren't cheap like HEB, but I have confidence that anything I purchase here is quality with more sustainable options.

  • gilbert new town

I always wonder why this place is not busy. I think location is not the best is probably why. They are a little pricey but you get what you pay for their above average items. They have a large selection of supplements to choose from as well. Go check them out.

  • PJ Qolas

So much variety! Do they possibly have everything! Pricey for me, but staff is super friendly, helpful extra mile. Staff is knowledgeable, offered very good coupon, noticed I was needing something I was looking for. Not crowded. Clean. Definitely returning.

  • Grant Ephross

Terrible produce and prices. everything is 20%+ more expensive than even other high end grocers and the quality isn't there. Walked in an hour ago to see rotting/moldy limes. The Walmart around the corner has better citrus, this is pathetic.

  • Fernanda

Best quality products, great service, awesome prices, and so conveniently located; it’s the best of all worlds!!! Thank you Fresh Plus Grocery for enhancing our grocery shopping experience and bringing top quality food to our homes!

  • Gabrien Clark

What this story lacks for in physical size, it more than makes up for in variety. Sure to be a favorite of any healthy eater. A big surprise is the wonderful beer room tucked away in the back, with plenty of local options.

  • Jessyl Bradford

I love this place! I generally go in vitamins; this time it was aromatherapy. I always leave with more. It's not just about FRESH vegetables and meats. Check out the lotions, shampoos, health bars... That's the PLUS.

  • Alice Brown

Fresh Plus is a wonderful grocery store. Small and eclectic but an Austin main stay for at least 50 yrs. And the employees are so nice. Somewhat higher but some things are worth it. Plus their meat section is superb.

  • Hunter

Love this little neighborhood grocery store! Some things are more expensive compared to HEB but they usually have sales and offer high quality items. Meat market is top notch!

  • Lee Kenney

Great surprise Fresh Plus Grocery was this morning. I will go back. I went in for a watermelon and came out with all the groceries I needed for the day.

  • Frederick Walser

Great in and out place with easy social distancing and early adopters of masks. Really great personnel and quality p Local products. Small store

  • Abee Mills

Super helpful employees! Helped us find what we needed for our dog friend. Even sought out a couple samples to help. So grateful! Will be back.

  • Kevin V.

Great neighborhood store for when you need something last minute. Big beer selection too. Unfortunately most items prices are marked way up!

  • Tatiana M

Clean, good product selection, friendly staff. Their ready-to-eat food is really good too. Prices are pretty fair for this type of store.

  • Macleay martinez

Love everything about this little health food grocery store except that I'm consistently disappointed in their produce selection.

  • Stephen M Roberts

awesome place. love it. would be great to be able to see the hours either here or on Google Maps... I keep getting redirected...

  • Jim Roberts-Miller

Small neighborhood grocery with interesting beer selection and loads of wellness items. Friendly staff and all the necessaries.

  • Leeza Dennis

I love Fresh Plus - I have nothing bad to say about it at all. If you want to support local grocers, this is the place to go.

  • Tamra Green

My favorite place to shop! Heartbrand beef is the best and the only store that I know of that carries that brand of need.

  • Aaron T

I like this place BUT $17.99/lb for a rib-eye LOL only a fool would pay that. Quality is only good if we can afford it!

  • Jane Zion

The employees are so nice! I like the fact that it is small. They carry some "name brand" stuff n specialty items.

  • Mike McIntosh

Produce is inconsistent. The meat counter is excellent, especially the beef and also the house-made sausages.

  • Mari Queen

Always a nice feeling, assistance available (if necessary) and masks are on all staff and shoppers ❤❤ …
