I am very disappointed in the whole process of getting a cake for my daughter's baby shower. I believe I contacted Fruitilicious back in February or March to insure I secured a cake for the date I wanted as I could see that she makes elaborate cakes for weddings and magazines, my cake was a two tiered cake with white fondant and a little ethnic baby image on the front. My first issue was when I selected the flavors I chose lemon blueberry which they didn't have on the menu and I was told I'd have to pay extra which I was okay with then I asked for strawberry champagne I was then told I would have to pay extra for that as it was not a flavor option yet I had seen it on there Instagram and I mentioned that and my comment was not addressed and charged extra anyways. The other charge I incurred was for the image which I expected. Fast forward to two days before the event I am informed that they can't find the image I wanted and if I can try and find it myself attached to the email there was a photo close to it so I went with that as I had no choice with the short notice I received. I had also asked on more then one occasion what time I should pick up the cake finally the evening before I was given 2:40pm, so on Saturday I made my way from Ajax to Mississauga to pick up the cake when I arrived I was met by the husband asking what I was there for and then the owner came to let me know the cake wasn't ready cuz "something happened " and she would have to drop it off! Where was my email to inform me of this she claimed she did not have my phone number and couldn't call me even though we were corresponding by email all this time, so I wasted gas and went back to Ajax and no apology was given at that moment btw!!! When I got home I received an email informing that the cake was done and that my pick up time was actually 4pm and that if I had come at that time my cake would've been ready she then acknowledged she gave me the wrong time. My cake was delivered the next day before the event started but was just disappointed all around, I went this buisness because of the reputation because it was black owned and I thought the quality would have been at a certain standard, the cake was not done well quite sloppy I tasted no champagne in a cake flavor I paid extra for that is in fact on the menu and I found them to be on the dry side, all I have to say is lesson learned I will never order from there again!!

Cake consultations were our favourite part of planning our wedding for obvious reasons... cake samples! For us, flavourful, moist, and visually striking cake was important because we had been to so many other weddings or events where the cake was beautiful but fell flat on flavour. We went to numerous bakeries and sampled various flavours, but Fruitilicious was the obvious winner. They have SO many flavour options, all of which are absolutely delicious, and they were so moist, bold, and delicious. We had a 5-tier wedding cake for visual appeal, but only 3 of them were real. Our two flavours were dark chocolate raspberry and Prosecco peach apricot and elderflower. They had a huge variety of other options and we paid extra to try more samples than the standard number. Some of the other options included basil berry cream, mango passionfruit, white chocolate raspberry, Pina colada, strawberry lemonade, lemon blueberry thyme, mixed berries shortcake, Ferrero rocher, red velvet cheesecake, cookies n' cream cheesecake, carrot cake, and more! Compared to other bakeries, the flavour options and actual quality of cake did not even compare! I will admit that the cake didn't actually turn out the way I had envisioned it and I actually thought it was the wrong cake when I saw it. We had discussed a pink marbled pattern with fold foil accents and sugar flowers, but there was no gold foil on it. The marbling wasn't really how I wanted it either. It did settle and sag a little bit, but to be fair we had a big cake and it was 35 degrees, 42 with humidity. Regardless of whether it was how I expected it or not, it was still beautiful. My main issue with them was communication and responsiveness. Sometimes they were a bit slow to respond, and when they did get back to me they didn't always answer my question. I had also asked for a cake stand rental several times when we spoke verbally, but it never made its way into the final invoice/contract. It was my fault for missing that, but I think I assumed it was noted on their end because she had acknowledged it verbally so many times. I also asked for a box for the top tier to be put in since the venue didn't provide it, but they didn't bring one and the venue ended up having to wrap it in tin foil. The fondant was ruined because of that unfortunately, but since the tier is being frozen it probably would've ended up that way anyway.

Bought their dessert table package, everyone enjoyed the cake and the items. Docked 2 stars because the communication could have been better. I asked for a custom themed cake instead of choosing from their available options, and while they did accommodate, their responses were limited to 1 sentence per email. I kept having to email back to confirm details one at a time. It was my first time ordering a custom cake so i thought they would at least contact me to plan out the cake design, but they just decided on the design themselves and i was quite disappointed with how it turned out, especially since i paid extra for the custom design. Even delivery was weird, i opened the door not knowing they had arrived, and the delivery person just gestured at the cake items without saying a word, kind of implying "hello? Heres your order?" So i thought that was kind of rude. I even said "have a nice day," and their response was "i will" which was kind of funny to me Edit, response to their response: I never had an issue with the price of the custom design, you also never told me you were booked up for customs. I just thought you could have done more to ask about what i wanted rather than expecting me to know what to provide you. You are right about there only being 5 emails because as i originally mentioned, your responses were very limited. And with the delivery, thats how i experienced it on my end so you cant say its not true

I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with the service provided buy the owner. Prior to ordering it took the owner 3 days or more to respond to emails. On the day I was to pick up my cake, it was being assembled as I was waiting. It was sloppy and very messy. The paint on flowers had not dried and were all unevenly painted (as they were rushed) There was spots on parts that were suppose to be red. She only put a few flowers and I had to ask her to add more. I was very disappointed and she lectured me that I should have mentioned it was for a wedding, which I clearly had and was also outlined in my invoice but she not only is extremely unorganized to the point of she can’t keep track of orders but also had complete disregard to providing any customer service. Be ware that by her own admission she spends more time on wedding cakes and everyone else should be ok with a sloppy mess. I shouldn’t have paid anything extra for the poor work she did but I paid as I didn’t want this to ruin my wedding experience. This was the one and only disappointment of my wedding. I emailed her after and asked her to rectify the situation by refunding the balance after the deposit but refused and provided a $50 credit. I had chosen this cake business because I thought they pay attention to detail and take pride in their work. It was not the case and I would not recommend them to anyone.

Choosing Fruitilicious Cakes was one of the best decisions we made. We had a very specific theme for our wedding - Beauty and the Beast - and Sandra and her team created the most stunning, unique and beautiful Disney themed cake. It was so elegantly and tastefully done, and they were able to put a LIT CHANDELIER in one of the tiers. Everyone was so impressed by the design and the taste was equally, if not even more, amazing. We had three flavors: salted caramel coconut, peach apricot and strawberry champagne - ALL DELICIOUS. I had so much trouble choosing these 3 flavors because her samples were all so good. The cake aside, Sandra herself has such a warm personality and her creativity is amazing. Her team did such a great job in every aspect. Each time we visited the shop, we loved the familial environment. She recently opened her beautiful storefront and I'm looking forward to being a frequent customer. Thanks for everything Sandra!

We were looking for a vendor to make our wedding cake and going with Fruitilicious was a great decision. We met with Frutilicious six months before our wedding (during which we saw the transformation of the shop to be a nice, clean modern looking shop) so that we could discuss the budget, design and flavours of our cake. Sandra made the process a breeze with her experience and professionalism. Communication through email was easy, straightforward and prompt. After out flavour tasting, we went with mango/passionfruit and spiced apple I believe, but our most favourite was the mango/passionfruit. All of her flavour options are not your generic vanilla/chocolate flavours, which we appreciated. The day of the wedding, delivery of the cake went with out a hitch. Everyone like the look and taste of our cakes and with Sandra’s guidance, we picked the perfect size; not too big or small. We highly recommend Sandra and the Fruitilicious team!

Desserts looked beautiful and pictured well but fell apart within 30mins of being displayed (cracks etc.) Improvements can be made on the customer service by far and texture/taste of the desserts. - Added after owners response: The response to the constructive criticism and 3 stars originally given above is a great example of the customer service. Rude and defensive oppose to open and willing to recognize that ALL the low reviews on their page can't be the customers fault. You are simply not perfect and can make changes. Not one review that is poor does this business take ownership. If I could give 0 stars I would. Hopefully the owner finds someone else to run the customer service side of her business as she does not have the skills. Ps. There's two reviews because Google requests reviews in two different spaces. Their desktop and maps. All the best.

We had a great experience with Fruitilicous Cakes for our wedding! I was looking for a beautiful cake that would be delicious and unique (compared to many other wedding cake experiences that are bland and dry.) Sandra met and exceeded our expectations! During our meeting and tasting, Sandra looked at just a few inspiration photos and was able to design our perfect vision. She brought in the color scheme we wanted (blush, navy, and gold) while achieving the elegance and texture we were looking for to match our venue and decor. We chose the Vanilla Chocolate Chip Dulce flavor and our guests raved as how tasty the cake was! It does take a couple of days to connect via email but she's a small business owner, focused on providing a quality product. Overall, we had a great experience with Sandra and would recommend her for your wedding.

Sandra and her team made my wedding cake and I was absolutely blown away. We didn’t get to finalize the order until weeks before my wedding because of the pandemic restrictions, we were not sure we were going to be allowed a reception. When things were about to open back up, I messaged Sandra to finalize everything and she was prompt to jump back on board with the planning process almost just 3 weeks into the wedding. Despite all that, the quality of her work was still top notch. The cake looked so beautiful that I felt bad slicing through it for our cake cutting! It also tasted really good. We got the creme brûlée flavour and it just had the perfect level of sweetness. Not overwhelming at all. Overall very happy that Sandra and her team was a part of our special day!

Fruitilicious created a Strawberry lemonade flavour cake and Raspberry White Chocolate cupcakes (both regular and gluten free) for our wedding. First off the cake was absolutely gorgeous. I have been following Fruitilicious on social media for a long time and everything they create is pure artistry. Our cake was no exception. The flavour was fresh, the cake was perfect texture and consistency, and the buttercream icing was so delicious. Not only were the desserts perfection but their customer service was amazing. Not only did they accommodate the high temperature for our outdoor wedding by coming at a later time to set up but they also made a second trip to go back to get the florals for the gluten free cupcakes. We would highly recommend them.

I first met Sandra 4 years ago at a wedding show. From the first sample of her cakes I was sold! I still remember the opulent display of swoon-worthy cakes that included 5+ tier cakes, macaroons, cupcakes, cookies, etc. The other day I want to Sandra's soft opening at her new shop. The cupcakes she had were heavenly and it is just so lovely to work with Sandra. The one thing I love about her cakes is that they look stunning but they are also delicious because they are made with quality ingredients. I will continue to recommend her to my friends (especially those who are getting married soon). Since her shop is not too far away, I will also be dropping by a few times a month! Love her work and love working with her!

I think finding a good bakery is a real struggle. When I looked at this bakery, their website and the pictures of cake were so aesthetically pleasing and the ratings and reviews were good too. So I made a decision to order red velvet cake from them for my husband’s birthday. Cake looked perfect same as picture but it was awful in taste. * Icing was so grainy and hard, with excess of sweetness and was not edible. * The cake itself was too hard with no softness and sponginess to it. * I had 8 people taste this cake and they all didn’t like it. * I spent $75 on this cake and it was worthless, instead I purchased another cake from some random bakery for $25 and it tasted so much better than this.

I always try to reward good smaller companies with a positive review … and it takes a lot for me to leave a bad review however myself and the others who had some cake were very unimpressed 1. I ordered the caramel biscoff online, apparently it was sold out, so they changed it to a vanilla mango. Not even close to what we wanted/ similar taste category. 2. Cake did not remotely look like the photo 3. The cake was very dry 4. The icing was like a typical grocery store sugar coating with limited flavor 5. The mango flavor in the middle was very underwhelming. Tasted very artificial. 7 people ate this cake, and 7 were disappointed (especially after spending nearly $60 for it)

I had my wedding cake made from Fruitilicious in June, along with a dessert table. I cannot recommend them enough. Sandra gave us great ideas during the cake consultation, and also gave us tips on where to save our money. The cake and desserts not only looked beautiful, but tasted wonderful. We got the chocolate chip dulce flavour cake, and received many compliments with people coming up to us to say this is the best wedding cake they’ve ever had. It was moist and delicious, and we kept the top tier in the fridge, eating leftovers for a full 2 weeks and still tasting fresh. Thank you Sandra!

Sandra is a GEM! She’s the most talented, hard working & more so someone who actually UNDERSTANDS you. She did my wedding cake back in 2018, then she did my baby shower cake/desert , my daughter’s baptism cake/desert, my daughter’s first birthday cake/desert, AND recently did my daughter’s second birthday cake/desert as well. she’s that good! Her cakes are UNBELIEVABLY DELICIOUS and GORGEOUS looking!!!! She’s the best and truly blessed with a talent. I will highly recommend her for any event. This review is a bit late... however, it's worth mentioning! Last Christmas Sandra and her team made the most delicious cake-cups and other tasty treats for my husbands corporate Christmas party. This year we've, put in another order for more yummy goodies because it was thoroughly enjoyed by all last year. I've never really used a cake shop before, but I definitely know it would be hard to top the experience I've had from this shop. I have now used the services here twice in a very short amount time. Sandra was incredibly helpful giving my fiancee a Birthday cake that she had always wanted and one of the best I've ever tasted. I later asked on a short amount of time unfortunately, to make one for my Dad's Birthday. They delivered an amazing ferrero rocher cake. The cost is very fare for the quality that you get. I honestly can't recommend this place enough.

Ordered based on tons of great reviews. Unfortunately, the caramel cappuccino cake we received was super dry and lacked flavour. We love coffee, addicted to cappuccinos, and we’re practically cake connoisseurs lol. The cake was disappointing, but based on reviews this is probably a one off thing. I would highly recommend Frutilicious! They did our wedding cake for us. It was mango passion fruit flavour. It tasted amazing! Our guests loved it and we were proud to be able to have something so original. The cake was also really beautiful! Working with Sandra was really easy. I ordered a cake for my baby shower from them it was the Ferrero rocher cake loved it was well done prepared on time they did a great job this is a great bakery. Also if it's one of their specialty cakes they do them per week so you can always order within a week or less depending on the day and be able to get your cake loved that. Quality of their cakes and ingredients top notch would definitely recommend.

I ordered 120 chocolate strawberries for a reception. Good communication with owner. I picked up the berries on the agreed date, they were beautiful and large, and very juicy! Guests all enjoyed these. Good value price compared to other spots that i researched. (I had requested to be in boxes to put out on my own Platters, but there was the option to order already displayed on Platters for a fee.)

Tasty cakes but poor customer service. I have ordered with them several times ( because their cakes are so good) and there have been issues almost every time. I once ordered a gender reveal cake only to discover they forgot to indicate the gender in the cake. They take ages to respond mails, and their delivery policy is unclear and misleading.

Fruitilicious cakes did my daughter's cake for her sweet sixteen on very short notice. Customer service was great! Not only did the cake look good but the flavor was amazing. I didn't even have any leftover cake because the red velvet was a hit. Thank you fruitilicious for such good customer service and a delicious cake. My daughter loved it!

I found dealing with this place to be annoying. Asked for a quote for a cake, got quoted a ridiculous price for a cake that was twice the size I asked for. The pastry I tasted was tasty but they seemed to be too busy and too slow to respond to email communications for finalizing a custom cake. I intended to order a custom cake from them for a special occasion but due to their delayed responses had to choose a different bakery.

Red velvet cake was way too sweet. The buttercream was grainy in texture. I asked to make the cake extra moist, but it was still not as soft and spongy as one would expect from an extra moist cake. I was a bit on the crumply side. It looked very beautiful though !!

I picked up Mango vanilla 6’ inch cake, worth $65 . The flavour was good, although the cake was very dry. When I cut the cake it was all crumbled, I couldn’t get a slice. It was bits and pieces everywhere.

They have such incredible pastries! We placed a order for my daughter's 3rd birthday and everything was incredible and tbh well worth the price! The quality and taste is 10/10.

Revised: As this is a small business let me revise my statements as the Owner called and brought up some points. The cake was gorgeous. The taste was not for me and my guests.

Very professional, fast, and they have same day cakes available that are great on price. Their space is clean and their staff are friendly and reliable. Definitely recommend.
