Be VERY wary when dealing with this business, or better yet don't deal with them at all. The staff are only polite towards you until you put down a deposit or give them money, then afterwards they start to become very condescending towards you and you are essentially locked into the transaction as their policies are constructed to the point where you can't do ANYTHING to get your money back as they take no real responsibility for anything that happens with your furniture after the fact. Since their policies conveniently aren't anywhere on their website but are "clearly posted" in their office (it's a single piece of paper on the wall that they don't point out or make any mention of), the only real place you might see their policies is on the paper you sign for the agreement, which again they don't tell you anything about and just ask you to sign the paper without going over anything. Since they seem rather reluctant to let people know about what kind of policies they have, I will list them here for sake of awareness because this is what they're trying to get you to agree to: 1. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. 2. NO REFUND, NO CANCELLATIONS, NO EXCHANGE. 3. ALL CANADIAN MADE FURNITURE CARRIES MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY. 4. TRANSPORTATION COST NOT INCLUDED IN WARRANTY. 5. THERE ARE NO WARRANTY GUARANTEES AGAINST WEAR AND TEAR. 6. THERE IS NO WARRANTY ON THE OVERSEAS MERCHANDISE WE SELL. 7. So keep these in mind before you decide to shop here, because once you give them any money you are stuck with that transaction unless you want to take the loss and literally give them free money, which I wouldn't recommend either. In addition, the owner was telling me that I needed to sign the line labelled "RECEIVED IN GOOD CONDITION" before I even got to see the furniture I would be taking home. This makes no sense because how am I supposed to write a signature saying that the product I received was in good condition when I literally haven't even seen it? The owner was quite rude during the experience I had, and I don't know if he paid people to create accounts to leave 5 star reviews or what because the majority of 5 star reviews you'll see for this business (making up about 25% of all reviews at the time of writing this) are created by people who only have 1 contribution and nothing else (how convenient). I find it hard to believe that these are real people that made these reviews based on real experiences at this store, so the rating of this business would realistically be closer to 2.5 or 2.6 stars. Apparently the delivery company is separate from this business, but since I was never told which delivery company this is, I can only speak about it here. The delivery service was okay at best, but the people who delivered my furniture spoke extremely broken English over the phone and hung up on me twice when I was trying to ask them a question. The two individuals moving my furniture all but refused to speak English in front of me the entire time until it came to signing the agreement for the delivery. This felt a bit rude to me solely because they could be discussing anything in front of me as a customer and I'll have absolutely no idea what they're talking about, which feels unprofessional during a business transaction. I would never recommend anyone to shop here.

I bought a loveseat at Furniture Depot Inc. on no.5, 1825, 32ave NE in Calgary, AB. PLEASE NOTE: The owners of this store also own H&K furniture Warehouse at 3412 - 27 st NE and another Furniture Depot at 4403 - 14 st NE (so I caution anyone who goes to any of these stores). Anyway my story is this... I special order my loveseat and specifically ask if there will be any odors from the couch as this is why I went to buy a new one in the first place. They tell me they are not aware of any odors and that they dont add any scotch guarding etc... When I ordered the loveseat I ordered a different fabric then the one in the showroom and the one I ordered had tassles around the pillows and one large cushion to sit on. The one I get has the wrong fabric, no tassles on the pillows, and two cushions on the fabric. I ordered the couch in Mid Dec 2012 and they told me I woudl have it just before Xmas or just after and I did not get it until late January 2013. Delivery is $60 and is a joke. They did not deliver it. They told me Thursday they would deliver it, then cancelled (I stayed home all day for nothing). They told me friday they would deliver and cancelled (They told me the truck was broken). We went down to the store to find it in a yellow truck which we found later for sale on kijiji stating that the truck was in EXCELLENT condition (SO THEY LIED). They said they would deliver monday and didn`t so we said we would pick up Tuesday and they said WE DONT DO PICKUP ON TUESDAY! I thought what a joke. I told them I was paying movers and they dont give refunds on stuff and kept wanting to refund this to me. I perseisted and I think the only reason they let me take it was because they figured if they dont let me take it I will sue them for the cost of my movers. The worst part is I have been paying through my teeth with the heating bills because I have all the windows in my 2000sq ft home open to air out the couch which smells horrible of formaldehyde and other VOCs and this is common (I read on google) I had to pay for a VOC air purifier $200 on top of it. AND I ASKED THEM in the 1st place if the couch would smell bad AND THEY LIED!! Apparently these VOCs can permeate my walls and carpet too and I just redrywalled my office where the couch is. AVOID THIS PLACE AND I SUGGEST THE OTHER STORES THESE PEOPLE OWN AT ALL COSTS!! VERY POOR SERVICE!!

I will never ever be buying anything from this store again! I bought a Table Set paid well over 600 dollars for it. When I got it home and assembled everything one of the chairs was wobbly. It had one leg manufactured shorter than the other, so right away I called the store and a lady proceeded to tell me that the salesman I purchased this from was not in and she would have him call me back before 8pm that evening. I received no call.I called again the next morning and was told again by the same lady that she "forgot" to tell the salesman I had called and he wasn't there that day. So I told the lady I needed a new chair, she informed me that I would have to bring the broken chair in to have it deemed as a manufacturers defect in order to have the chair replaced which was perfectly fine.I then told her I would be in with the chair at 6pm the following day, the lady told me it was fine.So the next day I load the chair in my vechicle drive all the way to the store only to get into their parking lot and find them closed for carpet cleaning there were no lights on inside. I called the store no one answered the phone but I did leave a voicemail stating who I was and to call me back.I heard nothing from anyone so I called again! I was told by the salesman that indeed the store was opened until 6:30pm the previous day, which wasnt the case. Then I was told to bring the chair in two days from now when he would be there. So I decided before I wasted my time driving there again I would call and make sure someone was there and no one is answering. I really wouldn't recomend this store to anyone unless you want to deal with liars and very unprofessional people! Never in my life have I had such a horrible experience with any store before!

Bought a 'custom made' sofa set months ago and delivery out of town was included. Many unpleasant conversations with them in between ordering and delivery date including one where Pushpa ranted about how she had been storing the set for me for over a year before I ever came in the store. In other words, the 6-8 week delay while they have the set made by their 'family owned' company is all lies and who knows where it really comes from or when they got it. Night before delivery the husband wanted to change the delivery time up by 4 hours, which I said would not work, then he refused to put it in the basement and insisted it goes upstairs. When I said no, it goes in the basement, he told me to pick it up myself and hung up on me. I called right back and they wouldn't answer the phone. No show the next day and never returned my call. I filed a dispute with Visa that they didn't fulfill their own contract by not delivering and they countered with a fictitious conversation where I had agreed to pick up the set in exchange for them dropping storage fees on the se. Except I have 3 voicemails saved from Pushpa that confirm they weren't charging me storage fees and that they were delivering the set. These people are shameless dirtbags that can't even get their own stories straight. I have filed a complaint with Service Alberta and will be filing with the BBB as well. They have run afoul of regulators in the past because they have signs everywhere that say no refunds, etc, and the contract has masses of fine print. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. If you have had problems with them, please file complaints with the BBB and Service Alberta. They shouldn't be allowed to be in business.

I would have given 0 star if I could. If I had seen the 1 and 2 stars reviews, I would not have been this store because these reviews are all true. Very bad experience with this store owners/managers, who are husband and wife. I bought some sofas last weekend. They do not sell warranty on their furniture because, as per the owners, it does not worth it. They will tell you that after 3 – 4 years you can just throw the furniture away and buy a new one. I still went ahead to buy and pay for the delivery and set up and the sofas. When the delivery guys left my house, I realized the sofa is not set up properly. I called several times and left voicemail. I received no call back. After 4 days I finally get the husband on the phone, before I even finish explaining, he told me the furniture has no warranty therefore he cannot do nothing for me. I tried to tell him that the sofa is not broken but not set up right, he would not let me have a word, he keeps going on and on that once they sell, they are done. He said that he tells all the clients that the delivery guys are from another company not from their store. I told him he never mentioned that to me. Then, he said if he had to tell all the story to all the clients, he would not be in the business anymore. That sounds very sketchy!!!. I kept telling him to at least listen to me, and he would not do that. Then he suggested to send me the delivery guy again and that I will have to pay them again for the same job I paid for and the job was not done right and hangs up the phone. I would not recommend this store at all. Plus the furniture quality is not good compare to competition.

Negative 10! This is the only business that we did not review before we purchased. Lady appeared great initially... Well still awaiting the call back she promised. The husband lies and when confronted he screams so loudly in Punjabi that it is extremely difficult to listen, comprehend, or worse understand what he is saying. Then to top it off one of the delivery guys was agreeing with the rude screaming man, OMG! IT STARTED GOOD BUT ENDED IN REGRET. We decided to take a floor model which they said and we confirmed on numerous occasions that the only issue was that one recliner was not opening. Upon arrival, the gearboxes were switched and the left control operated the right chair (laughable right), they were not fully operational, and the stench in the house after the delivery form the items and everything else was unbearable. The lights in the cupholders were out, as well as those under the unit and they were detaching so they zip-tied the end of them. If you cannot speak their languages stay clear! It was so bad that I had to calm down before doing the review, and since our experience mirrors what others had written the city and Better Business Bureau needs to intervene, it was traumatic in the end. These poor reviews are honest experiences so please take heed.

Recently bought a four piece modern furniture from this store. We only went to this store because we needed something right away. There's not much of a variety and almost all of these furniture are made in China. (Need I say more?) All sales are final and they don't take returns. You get what you pay for. The sales lady will go to great length explaining how helpful their delivery people can be. But it was exactly the opposite. Two guys showed up at our place was straight up rude and was sulking and complaining when we said there's a smudge on the sofa. We asked them to move the furniture to a different room and they complained that I should have said something before they unwrapped the sofa. Perhaps, they aren't trained to be polite with the customers. Noticed a small nail mark on the side of the sofa just earlier. Sure as hell, they won't be getting our business again. Small word of advice to those who are furniture shopping, While their price may be highly tempting, it's not worth spending your hard earned penny on these merchandise.

So so disappointed, got new recliners from them and paid 80 dollars extra for delivery/setup. The guys came to set it up and refused to take the boxes that the coaches came with back with them stating they wanted extra for the boxes. The brick a few days back set up my living room couch's and guess what ! they didn't ask for extra cash and took the empty boxes back with them. Talked to the owners daughter who sold the recliners to us, she stated " sorry forgot to tell you about the boxes and the manager should have called to inform you but he might have forgotten" she also pointed out this is listed in their agreement policy which i should have read. I was supposed to get a leather cleaner with the purchase , im not going back to get it. ill just buy one from the brick, not worth the hassle. Definitely will not be recommending them to any one.

CHECK ALL THE 5 STAR REVIEWS, they are all fake accounts and made by the owner himself. Almost same names. I'd give this guy/shop a NEGATIVE rating if possible!!! We just moved into our new house and we got all our sofa set, bedroom set and dining set from this store. At first, the guy was so nice and gave us a discount. Everything went well until they delivered all our stuffs. Dining table was damaged, one of the sofa's leg is broken and the leather has a hole. Called this guy and told me NO WARRANTY AT ALL! TERRIBLE SERVICE! I spent almost $600 from a different shop just to fix all damaged stuffs! NEVER GO TO THIS STORE!!! Don't waste your money!!! The price is good but the products are WORSE and the manager is the WORST!!! the ONLY furniture SHOP IN CANADA THAT HAS NO WARRANTY AT ALL!!!

Don't buy anything from this shop they sell you damaged furniture and will hold you responsible for not reporting anything immediately after delivery.I got a damaged loveseat recliner where the storage cabinet was factory damaged.I called them and left a voice message and a guy by name Paul called me back stating it is none of his problem to replace it as I did not report anything during delivery.I was busy moving stuff from my old place and could not scan each and every corner of the furniture delivered.The Ashley cocktail table was also full of scratches.They told me while buying coffee table comes assembled but the delivery guys said it is not and they will not open it for me.I had to force them to open it.I have taken the pictures as well for anyone to see.

What kind of place is this? I left a $600 deposit on the furniture but changed my mind in day, went back to ask for a refund. The owner stated that they do not do refunds and that it was not his problem. When I tried to talk to him, he swore at me and said to get out of the store and threatened to call police. Well, that were my money, so I told him to call them. When police showed up, they notified me that they could not do anything because store had no refund policy, that a salesperson did not mention when taking my money. After loosing $600 and getting such a bad treatment at the store, I could not insist any harder on everyone NOT TO GO TO THIS PLACE. IT IS A CIRCUS WITH A MONKEY IN THE OWNER’S PLACE.

Just bought a couch set, not happy with it at all, was told the cushions would not slide off but they are constantly sliding off. DON'T like the fact that once you pay, you cant not change your mind. A few hours after purchasing our set, I had so many regrets. Our set seems like its not full size, the arms on the couch are so small and barley come out to the cushion, wish we never walked in the store Their store is so over crowded that you can barley move We also paid for delivery and we had to get rid of all the packaging ourselves, the delivery guys would not take it Sure the furniture is cheap but you get what you pay for :( Biggest mistake "(

Customer service was not adequate. The person said there is 1 year or no warranty so I wouldn't put my money here. The couches they had were not half decent. On top of all the red flags, I wanted to buy a King sized mattress and bed frame set for my new home and the person in charge laughed on my face saying that my house is probably small and I wouldn't need a king size. Why are you being judgemental? Even if I fill up my entire room with a king size mattress or throw it my garden and let my dog jump on it, how is it your problem? And who asked for your judgement? Very rude

We went here to replace an old peeling couch. The man and woman there were quite pleasent to deal with. We were very specific about wanting a couch set that the leather or fake leather would not peel. They reassuringly told us even though there is no warranty that this would never be an issue. Well $1,656.90 and not even 2 years later the couch is peeling and blistering badly. My advice follow everyone else's reviews because it's just cheap garbage you get there. Which is too bad we have money to spend elsewhere. I've always been loyal to good customer service.

I am not impressed with this business. I called to order a piece of furniture on their website and they told me I had to come in to order it. So I drive there from out of town and then when I get there, they tell me they don't have the piece. They give me a card and tell me they will check the warehouse and call me and then don't call. When I call them back, they said, sorry, we don't have any. I wish they would have been honest from the start and told me they didn't have the piece of furniture instead of giving me the runaround for 3 weeks. Not good service!

I just recently moved to Calgary and visited Furniture Depot and saw that they have good quality furniture for great prices. I purchased a sofa and loveseat set for over $2000 and was very happy with the customer service from the salesman who was helping me find the sofa set I wanted. I asked when can I have my sofa set delivered and the salesman asked when did I want it delivered and I said I wanted it the next day and he said he can do that. I was very impressed with the fast delivery and they even set the sofa set within my house.

We bought a couch which they said they could make into a sofa bed for us since that was what we were really looking for with an armchair and matching ottoman from them. The sofa bed goes “uphill” when pulled out, and actually makes the seating area go the same when put away. When approached to see if they could come fix as they did say they “make” the furniture themselves, we were informed it would cost us delivery fees two ways to pick it up and to return it with no guarantee how long it would be gone....this is customer service?

According to my experience with company, I don’t recommend to buy anything from them. They misled me with the furniture that I got from them. First of all, they didn’t get me any warranty for the future damages. Second, comparing to their price I should get a high quality furniture at least to last for 3 years, but unfortunately it starts to rip apart after a month of buying it. The owner(manager) was so mean specially after he got my money. Awful furniture, and mean workers. Unprofessional and sloppy work.

I was shopping for a beautiful reasonably priced sectional and not sure what I really want. I spoke to the people and they helped me choose. Unlike others who would sell you their most expensive product, they actually showed me this sectional that is on sale . They customized it for me, delivered and assembled in my home . The people who came did not complain in spite of my narrow door and hallway. They were very patient and nice people. They also taught me how to take care of my couch. Thank you so much

Worst customer service i ever encountered!!!! The only store that has a policy of “no return” “no refund” no exchange “ no cancelation”. And the owner/manager PAUL MINHAS is the rudest person in the world. We purchased a living room and dining set yesterday total of 3600 dollars, in less than 24 hours we were not able to cancel the transaction and the 600 dollars deposit cannot be refunded. Though we lost 600dollars, this is nothing than to lost a hundred customers. No one will ever recommend this store.

My family bought a sofa set and bedroom set from Furniture Depot a couple of years ago. Now my parents took me there and I bought sofa set, a marble dinette set and a coffee table for about $4000. I ordered the sets I wanted and they delivered the stuff on time. I compared their prices with other stores and they had a very good deal on the stuff I bought. I think I will go there whenever I need some furniture and I recommended all my friends and family to buy from them because they have very good deals.

Quite shocked about the attitude I got on the phone. I asked about a type of product they had in stock and she immediately told me it was to expensive. I had to ask her about the product again and then how much it was and she still explained it was to expensive for me and finally told me the price. Pretty bothered that she immediately assumed I couldn't afford it, then proceeded to explain the product unprofessionally and not listening to my questions. Disappointed in the service I received.

I bought a chair that had been a floor model. We were initially happy, then discovered that someone had scored the armrest with an exacto knife and the back of the chair was twisting. Called to complain as we were sold damaged goods. They took no responsibility any informed me that it was sold as-is. Hung up the phone on me. I had not been in anyway rude .They seemed to remember the sale as they immediately knew which chair it was which would suggest they knew it was damaged

Went in the store with my wife, who had a broken leg and a knee scooter, and they refused us entrance based on her using the scooter. This store is not accessible for people with limited mobility and they actively refuse service with limited mobility, so spend your money elsewhere. On an unrelated note, most of the furniture seemed rather gaudy from the front of the store, but we didn't really get a good look at things so maybe the non-ugly stuff was stored in the back.

3 months ago, I had booked the stuff for $8900. I went last week, 3 days before my delivery to pay the balance for my stuff. Yet, I was a little nervous that they wouldn’t deliver everything on the same day because my relatives were telling me some stories about how they have to wait for some things from different furniture stores. But I was surprised because they delivered and set up everything on the same day to my house. This is my go to store to buy furniture! :)

Bought a bedroom set here. Not complaining yet about this, hopefully not in the future. The problem started the day of the delivery, I got the wrong item and size, so I had to wait few more days. Two days later they brought my stuff, scratched the floors, and let my house in such a mess with cardboards and styrofoam and plastic all around. The delivery guys said it's not included in their service to clean the mess. Be aware when you buy here

If I could give 0 star I would. Bought a sofa bed couple months back and then the handle broke from inside and makes weird noise every time anyone leans hand on it. We were told it was 1 year warranty later when we complained about this they said their product has no warranty. The ottoman which came with the set were also defective. Overall very poor quality and service. Do not waste your money here.

Horrible place to buy furniture. dont waste your time or money. my couch brought from hereI was told was made of Solid wood. it was cheep weak particle board which broke first time to using it. Store manager yelled at me and threaten to call the cops to kick me out when I asked him why he lied to me about the materials wouldn't even look at my picture only offered to charge me for repairing it

Read the small print - you make a deposit walk out turn around, it's too late. They have you hook with a contract that is not taking any responsabilities on the material or delivery (except mecanism or any obvious fault visible during the delivery). The service is courteous before purchasing after that forget it. So, low quality product made in China and zero after sale customer services.

Very bad experience, very rude n changed the eyes after getting all money in advance. Just bought dining set & sofa set yesterday and committed for 6 chairs & a bench which was sitting with the set. When we got the delivery bench was missing and on asking this guy starts shouting & threatening. Absolutely zero % customer service, he was getting rude bcoz got all money in advance.

Just opened our very beat up brand new sofa set. After reading the reviews, I am realizing I am stuck with this and I am so very upset. These sofas have more holes and rips than I had on my old one that was 9 years old. I actually ended up seeing the worst parts after I originally posted. I am in tears now. The sofa is actually going in the garbage.

I payed all amount .They delivered my furniture not on time and made me leave work just to come early .They never took the empty boxes until I gave them extra 40$ . What you hear from the sales guy in the store is totally different on what they do in reality. I had a very Bad experience and dont advice anyone to buy from Furniture Depot Calgary

I have never been here. I give this one star based on the fact that I see nothing but bad reviews. I have heard bad things about it from people that I know. I was actually looking to buy furniture from them until I saw the reviews and I just want this store to know that refused to hurt you. Maybe you should use a better delivery service

Bought a reclining set last year for our new home. Nine months later the springs are shot and the padding is non existent. It's only ever been used to watch tv in our basement. No warranty from these people for furniture assembled in China. You get what you pay for, save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.

I gave one star only because of the review otherwise I will give 0. Very bad customer service and bad quality of furniture. We bought a bed set and mattress and after one week I saw that the quality was very very bad and the furniture is already damaged after 1 month.

Simply was my worst experience ever, I will never re-visit nor recommend it to anyone. I was accompanying a relative who was buying sofa and chaise and I was shocked with the salesman's (who claimed himself as the business owner) unprofessional behavior and attitude.
