Disappointing Customer Experience with GUFF. I recently visited GUFF and felt compelled to share my experience, which unfortunately left much to be desired. My visit was met with an unwelcoming atmosphere, courtesy of an individual who appeared to be in a sour mood and showed no interest in assisting me. From the moment I entered the establishment, it was evident that customer service was not a priority. The individual I encountered seemed disinterested in hearing my concerns or assisting me with. Their demeanor was unprofessional, and it left a lasting impression of indifference towards customers. In today's competitive market, exceptional customer service is pivotal to a business's success. Regrettably, my experience at GUFF fell short of this standard. I believe that a respectful and attentive attitude towards customers is fundamental to any business, regardless of the circumstances. I hope that GUFF will consider this feedback and take measures to improve the overall customer experience. Politeness, patience, and a willingness to listen are qualities that can make all the difference in fostering customer loyalty and ensuring the success of your business.

honestly, great place, online and in-store everything makes sense. they let you browse without bugging you, and conversely when you ask questions you get straightforward quick service. they don’t engage in sales tricks and they are upfront about any damages or faults in the piece you’re buying. their only sales trick is their great curation; they let the pieces sell themselves, and it seems to be working because the turnover is pretty fast, i browse their website often and always see new stuff. in 2014 we bought a vintage sofa set from them that is still comfy and good looking. and in 2022 we’re buying another three teak pieces. You’re not being frugal if you buy teak from Guff but it seems to me their prices are lower than other similar showrooms in Toronto and the product you’re buying has a resale value.

Very cool stuff here. Fairly good turnover of merchandise , so visit this place regularly. See their web site for an idea of what they currently have in. Accurate description and price offered for most of the inventory. The pricing always seems a bit on the high side, but that probably reflects my budget rather than the valuation of the unique objects featured here. Its location is great for a whole lot of the city, being right off the DVP and public transit. They offer limited parking. I'm sure you might book a time to use their bay doors for large pick ups. Always fun just to pop in and browse.. Like a museum you can shop from

I bought a teak drawer dresser from them 6 years ago. At that time they were just starting, but even then i ended up paying $650 for it. They didn't do a good job cleaning it (the wood was still covered in gunk, had some minor water stains) and several of the drawers were coming apart (glue and staples were old). I ended up selling them back the dresser earlier this year. They would only offer me $300 (and i kept it in amazing condition) and now they are selling it for $1000 :(. So I don't really know what to say; I hope that at least they fixed it for the next person.

I bought an expensive teak chair from GUFF towards the end of November, and after barely using it for a couple of months the entire seat portion collapsed (I'm not even a big guy), permanently damaging the wood. I phoned GUFF to discuss possibilities (such as returning the piece or receiving a free repair, since I had bought the piece only recently and in good faith), but the proprietor aggressively told me off, gave me the number of his repair person (for which I would surely have to pay), and then hung up. Not cool.

Really love all the items that GUFF is offering, however Ive called twice now to schedule an appointment to come and spend money in their shop. Due to Covid-19 they are on a strict appointment based system. I live right across the street and know exactly what items i want to buy but they have made it very difficult to do so. Every time i have called in the afternoon they were "closing in 20 mins and couldn't help us" Will be spending my money elsewhere.

Friendly staff and great, mostly mid-century finds at pretty reasonable prices. If you're looking to stock your condo with something better (and older) than whatever you can drag out from IKEA, this is an awesome resource. Be sure to check their website often, as sometimes they have rare, amazing finds. They also have great delivery service in Riverdale/Leslieville and its environs.

I went in to browse for some mid-century furnishings and they had a great selection. The prices are a bit steep but it's to be expected when looking at niche furnishings, considering their age and quality. The staff member on hand wasn't pushy or or in my face and gave me the freedom to browse around at my own pace. They had a good selection of quality mid-century items.

I can't say how happy I am about my experience. The moving staff were about just the most friendly positive and knowledgeable guys I met! They helped me moved a buffet table and a 8 person dinning table up narrow staircase and through narrow hall way! Just want to let them know they really made my day and really brought me great energy. Thank you!

Purchased some kitchen chairs for my parents and delivered them on Sunday - they were just perfect with their existing table! Thanks to the incredibly helpful GUFF staff who helped bring the vision to life! GUFF will be my go to for my furniture needs and I will be watching for chairs for my own table now too!

Love Guff. We have found a few items here over the past few years. A few to fix up, some that were ready to go and some as gifts. Their newsletter and Instagram are great and help me to act fast if I see something good. Highly recommended when you're on the hunt for something specific.

Guff was great! Rob really treated us well and worked out a reasonably good price. My Girlfriend and I have been going to the different stores looking for the 'right piece' and we finally found it. Guff and Machine Age Modern are probably the best service in the city! AVOID Studio Pazo

Bought some artwork from here during lockdown and was so pleased with how easy it was. The team was friendly in their communication from beginning to end and the I’m obsessed with my new pieces. I always enjoy checking out what this shop has. Definitely a city gem!

  • Dustin Neufeldt

I had a great 1st experience here found there prices to be fair and the staff was friendly and helpful. I am very happy with my purchase of matching Herman Miller chairs. I would recommend to anyone looking for MCM peices as they have a fairly large selection.

  • Alex Morrow

Great selection of mostly mid century furniture. Prices seem reasonable. Staff don't hover and hang around the front desk but they are always more than happy to answer questions. I pop in weekly as the inventory changes frequently.

  • NorthofYou1

Nice guys, but..... When you sell them some quality furniture, they will pull the old "ohhhhh I don't know if I will ever sell this, I'm taking a really big gamble." And then offer you peanuts. You have been warned.

  • Tricia Vargo

So happy with my recent purchase of king bed/headboard, it looks great in my newly renovated space. The Guff staff were great to deal with and I will definitely be back to purchase additional items for my home.

  • Brent

specializes in midcentury modernism, which is popular. But half of the furniture is already sold, and the prices seem quite high. We found better and cheaper on kijiji and craisglist.

  • Jimmy Lu

Despite being used furniture the prices and selection are not the best. The stock rotates so you need to keep coming back to see what's new. Mostly credenzas, beds, and large tables.

  • Éloïse de la Chevrotière

Bad customer service. If you absolutely need to buy there, buy online first, because they don't care about the customer who's there in person. Rude and agressive service in store.

  • R. Launspach

Open concept warehouse full of mid-century modern furniture. Fantastic selection at great prices. Wonderful customer service. Pleasant to do business with. Definitely recommend.

  • Lee O.Z.

You'll find a lot of teak furnishings here, large and small. Lots of vintage stuff. Most of it is highly overpriced. You can also have many of the chairs recovered on location.

  • Tim Robinson

Cool used antique furniture joint that actually focuses on furniture, not nick nacks. A little expensive, but we still picked up a really great dining set that we love.

  • Drew Juneau

Picked up a piece of furniture here for a neighbour. They were very efficient, helped me load it and was on my way in minutes. Very friendly and helpful staff.

  • William Robinson

This store carries beautiful things! Teak pieces, mid-century modern furniture, Danish designed, and more. Beautiful furniture, in a warm and relaxed store.

  • Colin Gillies

Staff and owner were very informative. It's a nice, large showroom with well restored pieces and their prices are very competitive. Free parking is a plus.

  • Benedict Lopes

Great pieces with a selection that has been hand curated. Friendly knowledgable staff. You'll find something that you like, for sure.

  • Rob Wittmann

High quality teak furniture at reasonable prices. Description of the condition of items very accurate. Friendly and helpful staff.

  • Nathaniel Basen

They have great furniture and were a huge help when trying to furnish our new place. Excellent customer service from Rob!

  • Victor K

Very cool stuff - but the parking / loading zone is a nightmare if there are more than two people picking up at once!

  • David White

Lots of interesting, unique pieces, not sure about the prices, have not bought anything here but likely will soon.

  • James

Great place for 50s to 70s Scandinavian furniture design. But it is very much hit or miss with their inventory.

  • Michelle Assay

We were very unimpressed by the overpriced collection. Staff totally ignored us. Quite rude. Will not be back.

  • Leo Petrazickis

Fantastic selection of teak mid-century furniture in great condition. Helpful and knowledgeable staff.
