Breakfast at Galleon was incredible! Warm, quick service and really nice vibe. We ordered the banana praline pancakes, smoked salmon bagel and big breakfast. The bagel is good, but the big breakfast and pancakes were outstanding — better than anything we tried in Melbourne CBD. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Love the Galleon and the serving staff are fantastic!!! One word of caution though, if you were used to the amazing homemade spanakopita the Galleon always had, you will be disappointed with the new owners “bought” version. No where near as yummy. My grilled chicken sandwich and halloumi was fantastic though. ❤️ More

This place is an icon of St Kilda. Nothing has changed. It's not just an icon, it's a time warp. The deco, the vibe, the food... takes me back to my own cheese cloth clad hippy days. It still has the magical tofu scramble. The best. Simple. I still don't have the secret recipe. Don't change. Please don't change. More

Love this cute, vintage spot. Good vibes, friendly staff, nice variety of food options, and quick service. I particularly enjoyed the sweet potato hash with a poached egg and cappuccino. My husband had the Eggs Benedict. We’ve already been back several times. Definitely give it a try if you’re in St. Kilda. More

Google reviews led me to try the Galleon for the first time, and I wasn’t disappointed. Quirky, yes, but interesting decor, a nice outdoor area and friendly staff. I really enjoyed the vegetarian (five veg) Bubble’n’Squeak with multigrain toast, and a large pot of leaf tea. Highly recommended. More

This place has been here for decades and I don’t think they have put their prices up for about ten years! Excellent value compared to most places, cooked breakfasts $17 each. It’s not glamorous but hearty and as described. The service is excellent and it has a casual retro vibe. More

Down to earth cafe serving home style food. I like this place because it’s not too trendy not too pretentious - it feels very comfortable yet is still quality. My favourite dish is the sweet potato and feta fritter, which comes with a tall pile of spinach and a poached egg.

This funky cafe is located on Carlisle st up the st kilda end, it has good friend staff, there is always a waiting line on weekends however it moves fast, and the food does not lose its quality! Such great value for money. The food is amazing and the coffee is great Too!

Lovely cosy mismatched furniture Cafe. Seating is made up of booths and table/chairs. Homey vibes. Delicious foods topped off with a $5 mimosa. Friendly customer service. Just a great little place to have a meal or snack to catch up with friends or loved ones. More

Excellent breakfast spot for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike! As a vegetarian that doesn’t like eggs, it’s hard to find a satisfying breakfast - the vegan scrambled tofu was just the ticket! My partner enjoyed a bacon eggs benny. Would definitely recommend!

Nice brunch place with a ship theme which is a bit different. The place can be really packed so be ready to wait a bit. We ordered poached eggs and eggs benedict with our meals. However, the eggs were overcooked. Overall, the foods are good.

I didn’t like the ricotta on the pancakes and basically just had the pancakes with maple syrup. I would have preferred ice cream and some other toppings instead. The porridge had no taste and was really chunky. My friends enjoyed their food

This bustling spot serves a big range of standard cafe fares and caters well to herbivores and omnivores alike. The "Bubble 'n Squeak" has vegetarian and non-vegetarian versions, with the latter adding a mini pork sausage for an extra $1.

Think it’s a requirement to be actively rude to work here. After asking for my eggs to be done on both sides (I have the egg ick) and them bringing them out stone dry, I apologised and said that I meant that I’d like the yolk still runny

All rounder cafe, good coffee ✔, good home made food ✔, friendly staff ✔ I had the bubble and squeak. It doesn't look like much, but oh my word, so yummy!! Took me back to my childhood breakfasts, mum is English. Fairly easy parking too.

Went to St Kilda to catch up with a friend. He introduced me to this place. I wasn’t hungry at that time but couldn’t resist to order a meal. He recommended me to get the meatballs. It was one of the best meatballs I’ve ever tasted in

With 600 plus reviews and 4 stars plus, it got the better of me to see what the hype was about at The Galleon Coffee. Not to be disappointed a line up to get in is a great indication that this is the spot. We were seated, ordered and

There's nothing I don't love about this place, from their all day breakfast to their prices and friendly staff. I think what keeps me coming back is that they cater for kids exceptionally well, ranging from cereal to bacon and eggs.

Lovely spot for breakfast. The food was delicious, plenty of options to personalise your dish. Eggs Benny had perfectly poached eggs and crispy bacon. The French toast had some innovative flavours including ricotta, lemon cream and

This is a pretty cool place, and it felt like I went back in time to an old American diner. It’s got a lot of character. The food is a good price, and the portions are generous. The coffee is average compared to Melbourne’s current

Easily my fav spot to eat in St Kilda. Super friendly staff from all backgrounds, amazing service, very reasonably priced menu that changes often. i highly recommend the hash browns! Strap yourself in for a flavour sensation!

Came here for breakfast this morning, below average food and coffee, was very unimpressed with the service, the girl that served me was actually rather rude and not welcoming in the slightest. Will not be returning More

Great cafe. Used to go there years ago and revisited recently. Waiters so helpful and nice and food excellent. When a place brings out a full bottle of maple syrup for your pancakes you just know things are good. More

Back in my old stomping ground, it's been a while! Enjoyed the Pancakes no3 on the Pancakes or French Toast menu. Comprising a 3stack of light pancakes with fresh banana, pistachio praline, vanilla bean ricotta

Excellent food and Bloody Mary’s. Typical for Melbourne brunch culture. Make sure you go early because the place was packed. Great service and food. And the prices were reasonable. Certainly worth checking out.

Walking into this cafe, it’s like stepping into the 90s, it gives you vintage vibes, from the tables to the atmosphere I really like it. It brings up so much memories how we use to live in the 90s.

Galleon burger with egg: one of the best burgers I have ever had. Chips crispy and hot. Service from Callum was friendly, polite, unobtrusive and fast. Very happy with our experience today.

Quality food - priced competitively for StKilda - excellent service that Craig offered with a smile. Highly recommended - and the trams added the Mel feel as they rolled by. More

Food is delicious, coffee is great. Most importantly there's not so much of tourists here, mostly locals in the morning which you can feel like an authentic local café. More

The Galleon is a St Kilda institution! It has a fantastic vibe, the crew are fantastic and the coffee and food is brilliant. The special Saganaki was sublime. Thanks folks

Popular breakfast place specially during weekends. Buzzing with chatter in live makes this cafe full of character. Indoor and outdoor available.

  • Kevin Duffault

Nice coffee, it’s just unfortunate that WE, as polite and respectful regular customers get attitude from the overweight women with glasses.
