I've honestly shopped everywhere for my cavies and hedgehogs food, but Global Pet Foods is now my go-to shop! While lots of stores carry tons of hay and feed options (that aren't all high quality brands), Global Pet Foods stocks my favorites (mainly Oxbow), and at a price that is cheaper than places like petsmart! They even carry more hay and feed options (like meadow and alfalfa hay, hay pucks, large and small bag sizes ect) and they're pretty much always in stock! Additionally, on certain items, they have a loyalty program where you buy 5 or 6 bags and get one free! Plus you can collect air miles. For small pet toys and treats, they have a pretty wide selection of natural toys (again mostly oxbow and other natural brands) that can be hard to find at larger pet stores. I've also found the price to be cheaper on this items here at global pet foods than at larger retailers. The atmosphere is extremely inviting, the staff are friendly and very helpful, and the place is very nice and tidy! The downtown location can't be beat and I won't be looking anywhere else for my small pet food anytime soon!

Staff are so very knowledgeable that I have no beed to go to pet smart anymore. They have all the good for animal brands and flavors. You can't buy fancy feast there cause uts garbage and they don't sell garbage. They have your pets best interest at heart. I recently had a scrap with my kitty, they had lots to suggest and lots of different options. I feel at home there and can ask even the silliest of questions without judgment. Honestly, they want what's best for your animal and you. They deliver too! Free delivery over $50 is wonderful. Cat litter is heavy and if I dont have to drag it around myself, its very appreciated. Check it out, you won't regret it! It's a little pricier than generic pet stores but their product has no corn or wheat which is the cause of allergies in our fur babies. The whole store is like this. Makes shopping that much easier and less time consuming. No need to check ingredients ask the staff or grab and go. Your fur babies will be happy and so will you!

UPDATE!!!---->I'm pleased to share that upon my last visit they no longer have rabbit feet dog snacks on display at the front and so I'm awarding those 2 stars! (Not sure if they are still for sale elsewhere in the store but I find it much more respectful that they are potentially much more discreetly displayed which I find accommodating and less offensive. Thank you to management from a loyal customer and rabbit lover! (formerly the reason for a 3 star review--- >BUT I am keeping 2 stars until they STOP selling rabbit feet! I think it is disrespectful to do so when catering to rabbit owner clientèle. I do still shop here as all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Whoever orders needs to cool it with the rabbit feet though. Seriously.)

This place is amazing! Every staff member I have met has been friendly and helpful. When I first went in they let me be to look over their food, which I probably did for a good half an hour or more. They had only a few brands of cat food I had seen before and lots I hadn’t & since I only have so much to spend on pet food each month & since my one cat has allergies I have to be food careful. One time they were out of the food I needed so they gave me a free sample bag of a different brand to tie me over until their delivery came in the next day because she understood that some pets are food picky when it came to flavours. Most of their food even has deal where every 13th bag is free. Small store but great environment thanks to all the patient, friendly, & helpful staff that work there. Yes, I recommend this place.

Such a high turnover of employees at this store! All the good, knowledgeable employees have left! The high rotation of sales people at this store makes it impossible to count on building relationships with them so that they can recommend choices specific to my pet's special needs and my income. It is frustrating that a customer is forced to relay a story many times to a number of different employees. Don't get too attached to anyone in there because they will likely not be there 6 months from now. Also, the store is so cramped you can not easily navigate the carts provided for shopping, let alone a stroller, wheelchair, or heaven forbid, a scooter! I will be shopping elsewhere, since other stores seem to be able to retain good employees and provide a less cramped shopping experience.

I always get friendly and expert advice here. You can bring your cat(s) in Sundays, 11 AM - 2 PM, to have your cat(s)' nails trimmed for only $10/cat. You can bring your pet in so she/he can pick out something for her-/himself. The store sells reasonably priced, well made and locally made cat trees (one of my cats chose the one he wanted). The person who made the cat tree delivered it to my place at no extra charge. The store sells good quality food, treats, toys, health products, clothes for dogs, halters and leashes, and accessories such as food and water containers, beds, litter boxes, carriers, etc. at reasonable prices. Customers can get Store cards. The store has cool reusable bags and customers can get a large free calendar.

I am the proud owner of these 3 beautiful french bulldogs, and having 3 frenchies means I’m always going to the pet store. So for me, finding the right pet store means a lot to me and my doggies. Global Pet Foods Jasper Ave meets all of my expectations and some, the staff is always friendly to me and my fur babies, the general manger Adam is super nice and very friendly and he actually takes the time in his busy day to talk to his customers. They’re always very nice to my frenchies and giving them lots of pets and some treats. It’s great quality food and treats for your doggies, healthy Canadian based treats, anything you can think of, they will probably have. I highly recommend this place. If I could give 7 starts I would. ❤️

I didn't realize that ownership has changed but we just got a puppy and walked in. Adam, the new owner, is awesome. And contrary to the perception of many Jasper Ave businesses he is commited to keeping his pricing super competitive which was pleasant surprise (and we checked). Right in the heart of Oliver and on many people's dog walk route to/from Victoria Promenade or the river valley he's also super convenient. Great selection, great prices, great location , friendly knowledgeable staff. There's no reason NOT to shop local, shop small business. The big boxes won't miss your business... After recently adopting a kitten, I wanted to make sure I was giving my kitty good, healthy and species appropriate cat food. I had recently watched a documentary on how big brand name pet foods were not only putting questionable ingredients into pet foods but also in some cases fatal ingredients too. Anyway I checked out Global Pet Foods and I was pleasantly surprised at not only the selection of quality pet foods but the quantity. I was able to try out a variety of AAFCO approved canned foods before finding one my kitty loves. I love shopping her because the staff are knowledgeable, helpful and the their prices are reasonable.

Love this place and the staff are so kind! Once I was waiting for a friend to help carry a lot of purchases but they weren't able to make it til very very late. I stayed til close and the kind lady (Kate I believe) offered to drop me off with my purchases since I couldn't carry it by myself. Had a really nice time chatting with her and was really happy for the help to bring my things home since I live not too far away. Also really appreciate there's no live pets here, just supplies in a very convenient location that's got good hours and assessable parking when needed!

Always super helpful staff, the store is pretty easy to shop and has some unique products. They carry some of the healthiest cat and dog foods available, including Petcurean and Acana products. Plus, you can collect Airmiles here, which is a nice bonus. They also have a membership where you earn free food with a certain number of purchases. Definitely recommend this location, just don't go expecting PetSmart bargain prices on everything. Sometimes they have some good pricing sales, but most of what they sell is definitely higher-end with a price tag to match.

I've been going here for 5 years but never felt like I should review it but my experience this evening was so great I had to share... I called and a young lady named Brooke answered and she was GREAT. I went in to meet her (my dog is in pain and I can't him into a vet for a few days) and she was supportive, knowledgeable, kind, and just wonderful. She helped me pick out a good product, had personal experience with it, and made me feel better about a tough situation. I'm so impressed with her. Thank you Brooke and Global Pet Foods!

Been going here for a few years now, not only is it an extremely convenient location, but the staff are very knowledgeable in the products sold, what symptoms might be linked to what product is needed that your pet has. They will happily order you in something just for you if it's available through one of their suppliers. The prices are on par with other big box stores which is appreciated, and you always feel very welcomed and recognized there. Support local and small business, you won't regret it!

definitely my favourite neighbourhood pet store! I’ve been going here for years, the staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. They have a wide range of products in store but have even offered to order specific items if there’s something they don’t usually carry. I have a Sphynx cat who eats a raw diet and their selection of frozen raw products is much more varied than I’ve found in other stores in the area. They also have discount days and a rewards system ☺️

The assistant was quiet and awkward. I asked if they had any other bowls in the store and she 1. Assumed I wanted dog bowls specifically even though I had rabbit food in my cart lol 2. Just said yes and wandered off. Without telling me where the stuff was. The layout of the store overall is a little nonsensical in the first place. I only shop there occasionally for bussing convenience. But I'd rather shop on Amazon as long as I don't need anything immediately.

I was very happy with the Adam who helped me find dog food for my little yorkie freeze dried raw, my dog has all of a sudden turned very fussy she loves this food. In my view when in store staff suggest things it most often results in a sale I would highly recommend this store many varieties of dog food and the customer service is very good. During these uncertain times supporting local is so important. They also have a nice variety of pet clothing.

I love shopping here for my pets. They always feature awesome new treats and toys that my cats love. The staff is super informative about their products. They also offer a bonus if you buy X number of bags of food you get one free. Unfortunately when I came in for my second bag they couldn't find my profile so the first one didn't count. This happened again the next time I came in as well which is why I am giving 3 instead of 4 stars.

They have quite a few brands, but definitely less for cats than I would like. It's a beautiful store, but there is no handicap button on the door which is a serious downside for me. They only seem to have one worker working at a time, and so you might have to wait a little bit for help. Overall everybody there seems to be pretty kind, it's nice and quiet, and is a way nicer place to shop than some of the larger chains.

The 2 staff working this afternoon were lovely. I wasn't in there long before the guy came to see if I needed help, which I did, and he offered to have the items I was looking for ordered in for me, although I didn't take him up on the offer as it's not my regular location anyway. And the woman working the register was very friendly and made nice small talk while she rung me up. It's a very welcoming environment.

Other than the manger, the staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the products they sell. Not over priced and very convenient location. Given that I lived next door, I never had to drive, but I can see parking being an issue if their lot is full in the back. They have a professional come in for $10 nail cuttings on Sundays. I will always shop here over the big brand stores like Pet Smart/Pet Land.

It's pretty small and nothing is cheap, but you know it will be good quality. There is less of a selection than you will find in bigger stories (like petsmart), but brands that you won't see elsewhere. Knowledgable staff who want to help you find the best for your pet, not just sell you the most expensive brand. They also do cat and dog nail trims for a reasonable price if that is something you need.

The store is very well located, accessible from all directions on Jasper Avenue but I had some difficulty parking during rush hour. However, the store carries a specific kind of dog food no other store in Edmonton carries that I need for my pup with severe food allergies. I'm grateful for that. It is small and quite full of product, and staff were extremely kind. I'll have to go back to get more

Glad the store is under new ownership. Adam was extremely helpful with getting new toys for my baby. Recommend great products to help with litter training as my kitten was born on out doors on a farm. She loves the toys and now using her litter box. The other staff member was helpful too. Both provided great tips for kitten training. They even have products I will be needing in the future.

I've been shopping at this store for a few years now and I make a point of purchasing my pet supplies here whenever possible. My dog and I enjoy the walk as the location is great and the staff is friendly. You can tell that the current owner takes a lot of pride in running a great store, from the attentive customer service, tidy product display/selective offerings and helpful staff.

Global Pet Foods on Jasper Ave is a wonderfully run store with great employees and customer service. They are very knowledgeable about their wide selection of foods, toys, and other accessories you may be searching for. The store itself is very organized with reasonable pricing throughout. I could not recommend this store enough and urge everyone to visit and see for themselves!

One of the best pet shops in town. The owner and all the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and Adam in particular has never steered me wrong. They will special order almost anything for you, and like to get insight on brands they don't carry but might be a good fit for the store! I will always recommend this place first to anyone in the area.

They have very unique products and food for our cat, she likes most of the food products we've bought from here, they even have wheat grass here which our cat loves. Cheaper prices than the Big Box stores and at least one million times the positive customer experience. I am sorry for ever going anywhere else. My experience has always been exemplary here, the staff actually care about the health and welfare of the animals and customers they service! I started coming to this location about a year or so ago. The staff has always been super friendly and helpful. Recently I ordered some food and it came super quick and because I live out of the city now, they held it for me for way longer than I expected. Just a group of good people. My go to place. Although they went back on their word on returning cat food. I was told at the time of purchase if my cat didn't like the food I could return it. The only Clause was there couldn't be more than a quarter of the bag gone. It was a larger bag and only a half cup out of it. My cat wouldn't touch it and I ended up donating it.

The owner was very helpful when my wife and I lived in Edmonton, he also recommended we try a great little restaurant called the little brick. It was really good. The store is always stocked with good toys and food for our hazy. It's one of the things we miss most about Edmonton, friendly people and great advice from our pet store.

Like most of the other reviews, I had a very positive experience here. The selection is nice and varied, and the prices are reasonable too. The best part was meeting the manager the first time, we talked for a few minutes and gave me 5% off when they didn't have a larger bag of the food I wanted so I bought 2 smaller ones.

Was in traffic and decided to stop by to grab some supplies, and I’m sure glad i did. With a massive and diverse supply of toys and foods for my various pets, I was able to get everything I needed in one quick stop with the help of their wonderful staff. Definitely my new favorite store for affordable pet supplies!

I love this place and am so happy it's walking distance from me. The staff is always very friendly and the store always has what I need. Most importantly however, is that the staff love to see my pup and she's always excited to see them. After all, they treat her like a princess and I'm sure she loves that!

They do nail clippings for under $10 on Sundays, and have a great selection of pet food, treats, and accessories for your pet. The staff are knowledgeable, and they even ordered in a harness in a specific size and colour for my dog, which arrived after a week. Street parking is available around the side.

Friendly staff and great advice and the prices are great. I used to go to petsmart but ever since they sold me terrible products that lead to my pets death I'll never shop there and with global pet food they at least gave me a advice that was correct, should have just gone to them originally.

I am a regular customer at Global Pets. I am ALWAYS greeted by welcoming staff. They listen when I talk about my cat like he's a human, and they also always ask if I need any assistance. The store issei's very well organized and it carries an excellent stock of all pet goods.
