I just feel humiliated after this visit. I understand they’re in the business of making money, still… I asked for a walk in (my dog had a red eye), and they said on the phone it’s gonna be $100. It turned out it was $190, with an exam fee on the top. My pet is a new patient, and they didn’t say it’s $190 IN TOTAL so I had no idea ‍♀️ about the final charge. Guess, it was a miscommunication on their side and misunderstanding on mine. Sadly, both doctor and his staff dealt with the situation in a very passive-aggressive way. He said “they were nice enough to let me walk in” (I’ve been waiting for an hour, and the visit lasted 5 minutes). They waved 50% of the medical exam fee but the conversation with Dr. Sai and his reception was quite disgusting. They also charged $40 for Neo Poly Dex (eye drops) that are currently on sale for 9.59 on Chewy. It looks like some medical professionals forgot they are humans talking to other humans. They don’t even bother to treat you nicely or understand the situation, and all you get is an emotional trauma from communicating with them. I am not coming back, not because they aren’t doing their job properly or miscommunication re their fees, but because of how they talked to me and their passive-aggressive attitude.

Dr. Austin Stein is one of the most incredible humans, who absolutely cares for all his patients. We came to Dr. stein for a second opinion after months of treatment at another vet where we made no progress with our cat and our concerns where dismissed over an email. Our beloved cat continued to not feel well and we knew we had to do something. From the first visit - the office was so attentive and gathered all of the documentation from our previous vet, when we met Dr Stein he reviewed everything in detail before we got there and explained what’s going on, what might have been potentially missed and offered a treatment plan. We continued to check in on us and was always available and made us feel safe and trusting. Our cat has improved in his care and we had a full understanding of what was going on. He always took the time to explain everything we never felt rushed or dismissed. I cannot recommend him and his team enough - if you care for your pets don’t hesitate to come here. Thank you GVC team. For everything you have down for us and our little kitty.

I recommended so many people here and I feel like a fool! Look elsewhere because now that they are established and busy, they don't care about their original clients. I have been loyal to this practice since they opened. Today my dog woke up with a UTI and they refused to help. They were unable to fit her in and told me she can't be seen until Thursday. I said it's Tuesday and the poor dog is whimpering and peeing blood. Then they said I could come in as a walk-in and wait until she can be seen but they don't know how long that will be and I'll have to pay an "extra $100 for the walk-in". I literally have a newborn baby and a sick dog. It's so money hungry. I'm so upset that I'm in literal tears. When I said my dog really needs to be seen today I was told "then find another vet". I'm honestly mind blown. To everyone leaving a 5 star review, I’ve been there. Just wait until you actually need their help because you’ll get a reality check just like I did… until then, they’ll have no problem taking your money.

I was very impressed with the doctor and the staff. When my husband made the appointment, the staff members were very friendly and efficient. Same on the day of our appointment. I was very impressed with how the doctor asked a lot of questions about my dog before examining her. At other offices, the veterinarian would just ask why I came. Here, the doctor asked a lot of questions about my pet before asking why we came that day. He also did a thorough examination before getting to the heart of the matter. The doctor also explained everything to us before he did any further procedures and asked if we had any questions in a very concerned way. He listened to us and explained everything in a thorough and caring way. Overall, I am very happy that we went to this office and I will be returning in the future should the need arise.

What a wonderful experience I had with both of my pets. Dr Stein is extremely caring and knowledgeable. The Doctor explained everything in a clear manner, and made sure I understood everything before I left the office. My dog and cat are both anxious when it comes to vet visits, but not this time! Everyone I met were super nice, the office is very inviting, and they all made a stressful situation a relaxed one. The follow up email is very through and concise. Vanessa and Emily were amazing with my dog and cat. They were so relaxed with them! Reception is so friendly and made us feel at home. The best staff and Doctor I ever met at a vet clinic. I am so grateful to have found Greenpoint Veterinary Care--I trust their care 100% They truly love animals and treat them as their own. HIGHLY recommended!!!

Dr. Stein is exactly what we wanted in a vet, and the whole team was really warm and helpful—not only did they meet the basic need of making us like we were talking to humans who care about dogs (greeting her on the floor with treats, problem solving, etc.), we also felt they went above and beyond. They explained things clearly, listened really well, and sat and chatted through everything we wanted to discuss. They also administered her vaccines with us in the room which I know isn't a given! We had a very middling-to-disappointing experience with another vet in North Greenpoint (incredibly vague, no recommendations or details, ignoring things we mentioned about our dog to charge for irrelevant tests, not warm to the dog), and switched here — will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone.

We are sooo happy to have found Greenpoint Vet Care! My fiancé and I rescued our first puppy together a few weeks ago. When we walked into Greenpoint Vet Care for Flynn's first visit, we knew we were exactly where he needed to be. We were immediately greeted my warm smiles and attention. I wasn't too happy with the vets at my old office and we finally took my dog to Dr. Stein today. I was concerned about my dog and he needed a blood test ASAP. My old vet's office wanted us to wait another day because they were booked. I called Dr. Stein's office and he graciously agreed to fit my dog in. Everything was done in a timely manner and my son, who brought my dog in for me, said that all went well. Thankfully, my dog's blood test came back with normal results so I have peace of mind thanks to Dr. Stein's services instead of having to go to an emergency vet. Needless to say, I've ditched the other office and we'll be going back permanently for my dog, Riley. The staff is pleasant and competent as well. Yay!

Fantastic vet! My previous veterinarian recently retired so i’ve been looking for a new place for my two dogs. The great reviews are true! Everyone was really kind, great communication and both Dr Lee and the vet tech/assistant were excellent. They took their time and were very patient with my pups. They had also clearly looked at the previous history and the tech communicated everything i told her to the Doctor. One of my dogs gets very nervous at the vet and the other is a senior and they were just so good with both of them. Transparent and straight forward pricing, and they don’t push unnecessary treatments. Great follow up email. Very happy to have found a new vet. Highly recommend. Thanks!

Austin is a very reliable, patient, and caring veterinarian with a welcoming and convenient practice. I have a German Shepard mix, Mango, who loves to eat things she’s not supposed to eat. Due to her penchant for plastic, I’ve had to take her here for upset tummies and the like. Each time, Austin has been very kind and professional. He’s efficient and honest with his communication, which I find very reassuring during times of uncertainty. I’ve been able to come in without an appointment with a very reasonable wait time. The snacks for humans in the waiting room is also a very nice touch. I’m glad to see this clinic transform into such a staple in Greenpoint since it first opened!

We had an incredible experience with the Dr. Stein and the staff at GVC. We brought our 7 month old puppy to get neutered. He is a bit fiesty and nervous, especially at the vet, but he was surprisingly calm when we sat down with Dr. Stein before the procedure. Dr. Stein has such a warm and calm demeanor. And provides thorough yet thoughtful information. The procedure went smoothly and they called and emailed as soon as he was awake. When we picked him up the staff were so caring and even gave us a little goodie bag to take home with treats, a toy, and his medication. We are so happy with our experience here - highly recommend to pet owners in the area.

Dr. Stein and his whole team were wonderful. I came in skeptical of all the good reviews, but this team lived up to every single compliment posted here. I was seated on the floor of the exam room with my anxious cat and Dr. Stein sat right down on the floor with me. He and his staff asked really thoughtful questions and really listened to me and my concerns. I never felt rushed or pressured into anything. We came up with an affordable treatment plan that felt comfortable to both of us and I left feeling incredibly relieved. We had our first visit yesterday and we are over the moon, 10/10 best veterinary experience I have had in the state of New York (no exaggeration). We brought our 5 month old siamese rag doll yesterday for his first visit to the vet ever, and he seemed so comfortable and happy despite two vaccines. They sent over an itemized bill immediately, which our pet insurance ended up covering 1/3 of which was a nice surprise. They have a super quick response time, making an appointment was hassle free and we probably waited a whopping total of 3 minutes after we walked through the door. Really couldn’t recommend them enough!!

Our cat has been super happy and relaxed since visiting Dr Steins office! We came for an ear (mite) check and general status check after adopting him last month. Dr Stein and his staff answered all our questions thoroughly and patiently, and equally thorough and caring in the examination. Dr Stein were upfront with all costs and let us make the decision before going forward with anything. We also appreciated that he threw in ear cleaning as a courtesy and gave us a free sample of flea/tick medication. Making the appointment was super easy; they called us promptly after filling out the form on the website.

This was my pups first vet visit and it was absolutely amazing! From being greeted by reception and then getting full info by the Dr. along with more info and treats by the vet tech. They make sure you are well informed with the procedures and other questions you may have. It was just great experience over all. Definitely recommend coming here with your fur baby!!! No hidden costs or added fees lol very fair with pricing and they give you options! They truly care about the health of your fur baby! Plus everyone is so nice and welcoming! Onix and I can not wait for our next visit!

Did not have a good experience with Dr Stein. He got defensive and pushy when I told him about some research I had come across that had made me anxious about getting our cats first dentals. Instead of giving me reassurance and understanding, he immediately demanded to know where i read the articles and who wrote them. He also asked that I send him the articles to review in which I did and he never responded. After finding an amazing vet who not only clarified and affirmed what I was worried about, I see how people like Dr Stein use their authority in toxic ways

GVC is excellent! We transferred from another veterinary practice for convenience and we could not be happier. The big takeaway is our pets love it here and are never nervous to walk in, ever. Dr. Stein is so kind, and very thoughtful with both pets and pet parents. The whole team at GVC is responsive and so helpful. Another dog in our extended family had an emergency and I called GVC to see if they would take a last minute appointment, and while they were booked up, they recommended an emergency vet clinic that saved the pet! We will always recommend GVC.

Dr. Stein is an incredible doctor, I’ve been a client of his since he was at his previous clinic and I recently got a puppy who was pretty sick and GVC was able to fit us in the same day. There’s an additional work-in fee but it’s absolutely worth it when you know it isn’t emergency room worthy but still urgent enough to warrant same day treatment. Dr. Stein is thorough, caring, and efficient…everything and more you can ask for in a doctor. Joyce, his assistant is extremely sweet and patient as well. Thank you for taking care of my baby boy! ☺️

SUCH a great experience here! I have been going to the same vet since 2013 and was hesitant to find a new vet for my 15 year old senior dog. But I am so glad I came here! My appointment with Dr Stein was the best medical experience I have had in years. He took time to understand our dog's history beyond what we came for, and explained everything in detail and had some excellent recommendations, given our dog's age and issues. Everyone at the clinic is friendly and helpful. We have switched over and I couldn't be happier!

I am so grateful to find this Vet. My beloved cat Topo has been having a rough go of it for some time now. He has multiple conditions, and every other Vet or specialist I have taken him to sends me immediately in a particular direction without a holistic assessment. Dr. Stein took the time to go over all of my cat's records and then sat and talked with me for some time about what he saw and different ways to approach it. I feel so much better oriented to make rational and informed decisions going forward.

We (my cat and I) received phenomenal care at GVC. Dr. Stein and his staff are kind, gracious, and so very caring to their animals and their humans. They made sure to take a polaroid of my lil guy and put him up on their wall of patients - a testament to the passion they have for their work. They took the time to teach me all I needed to know as a first time cat owner, talking me through vaccinations and ear cleanings, and ensured I was comfortable with his care. Couldn’t recommend Dr. Stein enough!

Very lovely and accommodating staff, with very reasonable pricing. I travelled here from Manhattan after a family member recommended them and it was 100% worth it. Dr. Stein addressed all of my concerns and all of the staff made my very anxious dog feel safe. They even cleaned and cared for wound that my dog had from a ruptured cyst with no extra cost, which I greatly appreciated. This will be the only vet that I bring my dog to going forward.

Took my sickly cat there, Dr. Stein was very thorough and took his time to listen and explain everything. His vet assistant Joyce was fantastic! It was very easy to make an appointment and everyone was very nice. There is a "membership" you can partake in which I think is a good value if your pet is old/sick. Prices seemed reasonable for the area and Dr. Stein didn't push to sell you things. Looking forward to continuing my cat's care there.

Dr. Stein and the entire team at Greenpoint Veterinary Care are exceptional listeners, problem solvers, and champions of animals! Dr. Stein took the time to go through the entire history of my kitty's life to make a fair and comprehensive assessment of his needs. Dr. Stein blew me away with how thorough and caring his eval was. I had already lived in the neighborhood for a couple years but continued to take my cats to my vet in my old neighborhood (who is excellent btw) but eventually the travel was too much so my cat sitter told me about Greenpoint Vet Care. I brought my dog in for her annual visit and the staff was amazing! The vet tech was super sweet and very gentle with her. Dr Stein is amazing! He’s very transparent and always answers any questions I have pertaining my dog. He’s also very attentive through email when I have certain concerns and not able to bring her in. This is the second time I bring her here and it’s always a great experience!

The team was able to squeeze us in at short notice after my kitten started showing some worrying symptoms (or at least worrying to me). The staff was extremely friendly, my kitten really liked the clinic, and Dr. Stein answered all of my questions and worries with a lot of detail. Honestly, as a new kitten parent, this is all I was hoping for and I couldn't be any happier with what I received.

Such an amazing experience. I had just moved to Greenpoint and I was skeptical about trying a new vet because it’s a lot of trust giving them your babies. Saw Dr Stein for a feral cat I adopted from a colony I feed at Church of Christ in Greenpoint. Recommended by Greenpoint cats a group I worked with to get cats neutered .He answered all my questions and spent time with us . It was good experience with Patches . If I could give 10 stars I would - their vet Austin helped us with one of the most difficult days of our lives and everything that lead up to it, and the attention, care, sympathy, and support he provided to us and our dog Lola is something I'll never forget. This place is excellent. I unfortunately needed to put my cat down and they are so compassionate, kind and very caring. They gave me all the time I needed; they did not rush me saying goodbye to her. I also had my cat cremated and her ashes were returned back to me in less than one week. I highly recommend this facility.

Dr. Austin Stein is so kind and generous with his time. I had a wonderful experience here getting my cats their health certificates for travel.
