It used to be very hard to use this station as a wheelchair user with all the harsh incline ramps, borderline dangerous especially considering the glass doors the ramps would lead too. But now they have fully remodeled it with hearing loops (for deaf and HOH people to hear announcements), visible train schedules, level train platforms so you can just roll onto the train instead of having to ask a conductor/driver to bring a ramp out for you (though they will come out to let you off if the destination you are going has a gap in the platform), an info desk and an elevator down to the platforms. I just wish the construction wasn’t so loud all the time as the developments have been going for a year and a bit now when they said they’d be done last year. Edit as of 20/9/2023 the construction is now finished on the station (apart from the car park iirc) and it looks and functions great, my only issues are there are trees planted right next to the road and footpath which will lead to bulging and cracking in both the footpath and road in a few wears because of the root growth, which will be a tripping and access hazard. Also the footpath around the station (not the one connected to it, the ones in the streets and around the plaza and shops) are already notorious for being neglected with bulging roots, pot holes, cracks and sharp inclines which are dangerous to disabled people and people pushing trolleys or peaks etc. The street lights are also up but have yet to be turned on meaning the path in the adjacent streets are still dark, meaning these tripping hazards are worse at night. I really hope to see this fixed as I rely on these paths frequently yet am consistently put in danger by them as a wheelchair user.
On September 22, 2023, I took the train from the Greensborough station to the CBD. The station is tidy, accessible, and has a waiting area, which is helpful, particularly in the cold. The miky card is very helpful, and the fare is automatically deducted. Additionally, there is plenty of parking close to the station, making it simple for family to pick you up there. The screen shows the train's arrival, which is quite helpful.
Terrible notification. Changed a platform for the city bound train with about 2 minutes to spare, and didn't even make an announcement. Leaving many commuters missing the train. This is already after a 42 minute delay. It very much Looks like they have no idea what they are doing, and I have now been here for an hour waiting for a city bound train. Get it together!
Shiny new station. Steps and lifts. Clean toilets. Waiting room. Customer service centre. Good wayfinding. A far cry from what it used to be. New planting around the exterior. An interesting sculpture of an orchid outside. Would have given it five stars if there was also an entrance from further down Para Road.
What a truly beautiful, beautiful job you've done at the station with the planter boxes and garden beds. You should be so very proud of your fine work, do keep it up as it's so very much appreciated by us the travelling public! Congratulations.
It’s a medium sized town with very little in the way of shopping. It has your basic shopping needs. An hour from the city by public transport or 30-45 by car if good traffic. It is the start of the Dandenong ranges
Very delightful experience, train driver saw that my friend and I were about to miss the train so he made our days by waiting an extra minute if only the staff at Greensborough Kmart were like this legend. :)
Worst train line! Cancelled trains for the last 2 days, notified 3 minutes before the train. Missing my second meeting at work in a row. There is NO parking unless you arrive before 6.30-6.45
Why is it up to passengers to clear a fallen branch from the top car park? Park outside the white lines and get a fine immediately, but maintenance of the car park is non existent.
Pretty ordinary but staffed, with basic toilet facilities and does the job. Congested single route out of the platform though, and a bit of a walk to connecting buses.
I often have to wait here for connecting trains. Good station except for when it rains as the undercover sections can get pretty crowded at peak times.
Decent all round station for the most part, but pedestrian access could be a little better on the main road and the bathrooms need to be updated.
Saw an eshay doing a backon. Only got robbed here once this year. Got detained by PSO’s here when I was 14. Small bathroom. Great train station.
Obviously not designed by someone from Melbourne. The platform provides no shelter from wind and little shelter from rain
Took my girlfriend on our first date here, good vending machine and good seating. Don’t know why she left me :(
Greensborough is an alright station. It is getting rebuilt which is good, I wonder how they’ll make it look!
My experience is they keep this station tidy compared to the others on this line. Watsonia is a close second
No parking after 6:30. Limited shelter from rain. Can't see the timetables unless you're on the platform
Greensborough train station is an awesome station and has an awesome bridge overpass which is ancient.
At long last they’ve got rid of that horrible disgusting Old station, and now it’s beautiful.
Good staff. Great connectivity to the city. PSO on board for the security. …
Very well lit platform.. not enough cover if raining and peak hour... close to buses
This is my favourite station to get harassed by eshays on the Hursbridge line.
Ordinary looking 70's design suburban station, at least it's staffed.
Shocking, even street parking gone before 6.30am on weekdays.
an ok station to visit if ur seeing ur grandma x
Quiet good shopping option away from the city
Probably the best station in Greensborough
