Grinners Dive Bar worse neighbour, unhappy- Very inconsiderate man where do I start If you are studying this venue is a nightmare across the road from Student Accommodation and the Council does not care, unacceptable noise levels in inappropriate hours especially on Friday and Saturday as Grinners does not 4 in the morning which means you get no-sleep. It is worse now since patrons have been permitted to go into the street. I can't be the only student that wishes this venue was either moved down the street, or it was sound-proofed not that neither the Council or government here cares. I try to get to sleep and all I hear is intermittent humming noise and loud chatter from Grinners, when does it end. If you hopefully perform reasonably well as a student Grinners is a nightmare. If it is not bad enough the drunk people wondering the streets at night. Grinners is as bad as it comes unfortunately. If you want sound-cancelling ear-phones that will set you back $200 which is more than most people including myself as a poor student have spare. The non-sensical noise restriction that the local government has set in Hobart's not adequately bad. God do I envy the folks on the top-floor in Student Accommodation. Grinners and other drunk people made me withdraw from my unit at UTAS.

Good tacos and atmosphere, hugely disappointed in the service however. When the waitress came by and asked us what we wanted to order, we asked if there were any specials. She told us $10 margaritas, awesome, so the 3 of us ordered 3 or 4 each over thr course of the meal. But then the bill came... $17 margaritas. When we queried it she said we must have misunderstood... she had apparently told us MONDAY nights they have $10 margaritas. We were there on a Tuesday. I have no idea why she thought it was relevant to tell us the special from the previous night and was just plain rude about the whole thing. A simple apology would have been enough for me to give a much better review. Really disappointing.

Aggresive sraff on a power trip ready to get in your face and abuse within seconds. I arrived fresh to Hobart and out getting a drink with mates. They purchased their pints before me and went outside. Going outside to join them, I was stopped by the doorman, who said no more drinks were allowed outside. Pointing out my friends, I asked if i was to just stay inside and drink alone. He jumped right into intimidate mode and said I shouldn't question him, swearing at me. These people shouldn't be in more powerful roles. Thank God their not. Aweful welcome to hobart.

Cool place to sink a couple of tins while you scoff down some tasty tacos. There is an awesome selection of hot sauces and they compliment the food well without setting it on fire. Ben, one of the operators here, is a sensational bloke. Great stories to share and ready for a conversation as well. The look and feel is a cross between a dive bar and a skateboard shop, which works really well. Highly recommended establishment - one that I visited 3 times during my last trip to Hobart, and a place I'm looking forward to going once more the next time I'm back!

How can you fault Grinners?! We walked by on the first day of our 5 day trip and vowed to return. On our final night we decided to make room before dinner for the $10 margaritas. They did not disappoint! The spicy was a real highlight. We consumed 3 each and decided to order a pork belly taco each before heading off to dinner nearby (it would’ve been wrong to leave without trying the tacos!) and woweeee! Thanks guys!

Absolutely loved this place! Awesome food, great music, nice collection of spirits & top-notch service. Visited on a Tuesday and their $5 Tacos were superb, especially the Baja fish ones. An added plus is that the tacos are made using blue corn and they keep it simple, with none of that coleslaw BS going on. The Nashville chicken one was so-so but overall a fantastic experience and world definitely visit again!

Mann the food and service is 10/10. Must try. - jalapeno poppers they literally explode flavour and heat in your mouth at the same time. - the fries are delicious I get them with oozy cheese , and pork. - and the tacos are the highlight, just full of flavour. Had the adobo pork, halloumi , and chicken. All were tasty AF Also the jalapeno popper taco was delicious too. Will be back, for sure

Easily the best Tacos/Mexican in Hobart. Homemade corn tortillas and sauces along with a decent range of bottled hot sauces. Limited menu but everything they do is on point. Maybe a bit overpriced, but again; delicious. There's no competition in the state for these kinds of real-deal tacos, save for a food van or two, and those vans use store-bought tortillas which don't compare.

Fantastic food in tantalising portions to allow you to try a lot of different things. Been here a few times and you have to try the Jalapeño poppers, they are awesome!! Highly recommend visiting here. Also had a good range of tap beer and cocktails. If you need to try more they have $5 tacos on Tuesdays, but happy to go anytime and it was super mellow on a Sunday evening.

They call it Grinners but they should call it Sinners because everyone here has tattoos That being said I am grinning as I drink my Hazy IPA, as it is very yum with extra deliciousness. The toilets are underground but that makes sense as most sewer lines in Major Cities run under the ground. I'm happy, I'm grinning.

the staff were very friendly, with fast service. the food was good (popcorn chicken taco was a standout). we would have loved to order a bowl of the popcorn chicken by itself. drinks were refreshing. interesting decor, but makes sense now that i’ve seen its name is “grinders dive bar”

Excellent tacos and jalapeño poppers. Also good cocktails (Moscow Mule). Probably one of the best fish tacos I’ve ever had, and includes the tacos I’ve eaten through Mexico! Highly recommended if you’re a fan of Mexican food or just love good food. I just wished I lived locally....

Tuesday is the best day to go; makes it affordable. Tacos that are anywhere from $6-9 are all $5, all night on Tuesdays. They do great cocktails too and can work with allergies to make tasty ones that aren't on the menu. Really friendly staff! Give the halloumi taco a go...

Walked in on a relatively busy night upon recommendation from our hotel, were very quickly found a table. Quick service on food and drinks and attentive service from the staff. The cauliflower bites were a winner. As tourists, would definitely recommend and come back again.

Beautiful beer, tasty taco's, friendly faces showcasing a punk vibe. Great spot to meet young friendly locals, location is close to the city centre and other bars. Its clear this is the spot where the cool kids hang. Really enjoyed the full experience, I'll be back :-)

If you like Beer, Tacos and 80’s Rock - this is for you! Absolutely delicious tacos and there’s plenty of tasty beer on tap. Couldn’t find a better place for a quick lunch and chill out on a Saturday afternoon. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

Tacos, holy frigin tacos! Homemade tortillas make them absolutely delicious! Good beers on tap and other drinkable, and great punk and rock music. Super chilled and friendly place where you can stay till very very late and talk about life.

Best margarita I’ve had in a long time! Their food has really nice flavours though tacos could be bulked up a bit (more beans, cheese etc) to be more filling). Burrito bowl would be an awesome taco salad if they added a bunch of greens!

Was here for a networking event on Friday night! A busy bar with many groups but they also have some private corners for groups of 2-4 as well. Plenty of finger foods and many choices of drinks from ale, craft beers, cider to wine.

An example of some of the great eateries Hobart has on offer. Always busy, but run like clock work, by the skilled crew. Stand outs include the Baja Fish Taco, Pulled Pork Quesadilla and Fried Chicken Taco. Very satisfying.

Taco Tuesday was awesome with very good tacos 5$ and hot wine ! Would highly recommend, the atmosphere upster was great with the fire.

Might be a little biased but work down the road at the bike shop and have had a drink here after some rides in the past and had been great value, welcoming staff and a great atmosphere! Would highly recommend it!

Holy amazing!!! The food was amazing. I loved the vegetarian options on offer, did not miss a beat with flavour. The drinks are to die for and had an amazing night. Will definitely be back don’t Brisbane!!!

Amazing food! Definitely need to grab a meal here. There's heaps of great things on the menu but the pulled pork and blue cheese burger (from memory) was a real stand out!
