"This place has gone down a lot in the last year sadly"

"The perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of London - you wouldn't believe you were still in the capital"
Must visit spot in East London. My favorite sopt Whenever I got free time, I visit this place to feel the nature. A really calm canal, marshy forest, massive ground and a long beautiful road. This is the perfect option for health conscious and nature loving people. Evening is the best time to enjoy the beauty of this place. For me this is a stress bursting spot
Playground
One of the biggest sports ground in London

Picnic area
Yeah.. Some spots are there for picnic
A lovely place for a good long walk offering a variety of surroundings. Open grassy areas, wooded areas with paths, canal sides, connected to Lee Valley Ice Rink (under construction) and Horse Riding Centre.... paths leading to Leyton, Walthamstow, Stamford Hill/Upper Clapton. If you are lucky you may even stumble across parrots/exotic birds in the trees....
Picnic area
Spoilt for choice in terms of potential picnic spots
This place has gone down a lot in the last year sadly. This management can't organise it properly. I have been regularly walking my dog here for 4 years and within the last year the maintenance has really been neglected. The bins are overfilled and the nature walks that used to be maintained are overgrown and full of brambles. Its such a shame as it used to be such a lovely place to walk. ☹☹
Lots of outdoor football pitches that can be hired out, the pitches are well maintained. The complex has good changing facilities, cafe and bar. There's a car park with good access to the centre and pitches. As this is spread over a very large area check the map inside to see where you're playing as there nit easily marked and you could be in for a long walk!
The perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of London - you wouldn't believe you were still in the capital. Lots of places to play sport & beautiful nature, water and wildlife with that untouched vibe if you venture slightly off the beaten track. Probably one favourite places to get a bit of headspace. Walking distance from the Olympic Park :)
A great place for exercising. Also historical, you can see the filter beds that used to filter water for parts of London. You have the Lee River passing by and the canal. You may be lucky to see a wild Muntjac deer, grey herons catching fish and other wild life. You feel like you are in the country. Lots more history. Worth seeing!
Such a beautiful place to immerse in nature, stunning interplay between organised planting, landscaping and space for self seeding, while water flows through this place, and we walk, play, sit, gaze. Extra- ordinary to believe how this was back in the 1980's, and what a transformation has happened
Located aside and between the River Lee and the Navigation channel. Incorporating sports fields, natural riverside habitats and grass/wildflower fields. Pleasant area for a stroll with well-worn pathways through the fields that come alive with a show of wild flowers in Spring and Summer.
What can I say that hasn't been said about the best marshland in London? If you want to play football, go to hackney marshes. If you want to go for a run, go to hackney marshes. If you want a bit of sun and a read, go to hackney marshes. Hackney marches belong to everyone.
It has existed for an extremely long time. In the summer the blackberries are the best you can sauce. Lots of open space. Excellent for walks and bike rides. Horses near the back. Can take you all the way into Walthamstow. Not advisable to visit after dark.
Beautiful park with lot of great sport matches. Can go for a walk and enjoy nice breeze on a sunny day. Only bad thing is shortage of car parking. Also the area is very far if you are traveling from Wembley. There are so many traffic lights
Great place to go for a lovely walk and feel the nature. The river Lea is polluted and not suitable for swimming. However I thoroughly loved enjoyed sitting close to the river and enjoy the calm serene nature. This is going to be my
Legendary London football pitches here, amateur football at true grass roots level, some games in progress today Main purpose today was to find the River Lea, and walk down the path to Stratford, taking I'm the wildlife on the way !,
Lots of open space, woods and river walks along the Lea valley river. Come prepared as you will get muddy and wet specially in winter. Hidden places of interest if you are willing to find them, best enjoyed with a dog!..
It is a fantastic place to walk, take a fresh air, relax. It's a great sized field where you can just enjoy nature. Once you are off the roads, you practically can't hear the city around you. Love this place.
Brilliant open space full of football pitches. A short walk from the wetlands and Olympic park. Part of the Lea valley park which allows the intrepid pedestrian to exit London without crossing a single road.
Great space and parking. Dog walker a little annoying with dogs off lead running up to people. Not everyone is a dog person so needs to be looked into.
Restrooms
Always has toilet tissue.
Forest/music/wildlife/peace an quiet mixed with serenity honestly whats not to love thats why î seriously cant wait for it too become just that tad bit warmer an ill be set ready for it …
Amazing open space Great to play football or just walk around open space and unique place to see so many football pitches in one place as well great open space to fly a drone
Green wide open multi-use space with as much sunlight and pollen as your body wants.. Luv the "hr" between sunrise and dawn especially if there is a morning mist...
Wonderful place for running, cycling, walking and any other activity and for rest and relaxation too.♂️♀️♀️♀️♂️♀️ …
Lovely place to go for walks, runs, cycles There is always a new corner unexplored! Loads of space for football, for canal walks, birdwatching.
Very nice open space, especially for cycling, football and other open field sports. Very calm and serene, feels like you’ve escaped the city.
Nice open space....attended a one day cricket tournament, the park space is big enough-if concerns groups can maintain social distancing.
On a beautiful day you can't go wrong. Cycled here for the first time from Enfield and it's such a fun day. Highly recommended.
Nice cafe near the pitches. Toilets could do with being cleaned a bit more often but still fab venue for grass roots football
Nice large open spaces with pathways n canals, a vast and beautiful natural space with enough space to find a private spot
I love Hackney Marshes, there are so many trails you can follow and get yourself lost in between bushes and trees.
Creepy and spooky, you can make it what you want it to be, free rave, party, BBQs…..don’t get lost in the marshes
Photoshoot for a campaign in Paris. We swam, ate wild fruits and danced in the thunder and lightning. Wonderful.
Nice slice of nature within hackney, we love cycling around and exploring. Truly glorious on a warm summers day.
Very nice combination of open sports fields, benches for rest and people watching and wooded trails for walking
A really nice afternoon walk. Definitely recommend when weather is dry as some areas get a little slippery.
Just a great place to spend the afternoon. Next to the canal too and also with a football league.
Wonderful urban park, river walks and 42 , count ‘em, 42 football pitches on one vast meadow
A beautiful open space with canal and river. Great sport area or as we did great for a run
Stunning! All kinds of wildlife and plant life. A big space for all to share and be happy
The oldest and the best. Modern but traditional. The pride of the area
Nice big area to walk the dog quite too not many other dogs
Huge area of grass. Great for kite flying and picnics.
My favourite park where I can find my peace of mind
Great place for a walk pickup berry
