Trains serve this station only on weekdays. In either direction, only 2-3 cars of the trains that stop here will open on the platform. Most trains stop on the north platform, which is the platform that is closest to the apartment building. Before the pandemic, this station was lightly used by passengers and by trains. Beginning in 2020, more trains were scheduled to stop here. Even the last outbound train of the night makes a stop here now. Passengers in the area should head to either Chicago Union Station or Western Avenue to board BNSF Line trains on weekends and holidays. Like many old Metra stations within the Chicago city limits, this station is small, and not ADA accessible. Western Avenue station down the line also lacks ADA access. The station platforms offer nice views of the surrounding area. An enclosed waiting shelter was built in 2020, replacing a smaller waiting shelter which was not enclosed.
Be aware: Aurora-bound BNSF route stops here, but only the last 2 car doors open. If you are not in the rearmost 2 cars, you will be stuck on the train until Western station.
