Normally good but very disappointing today. We booked a Hansom in advance to do a pick from East Midlands airport. The flight was delayed and when I called to inform them Hansom told me that they had been following the flight and will revise the collection time. However the driver turned up early, proceeded to rant at my parents for the delay and then pressured them into paying an extra £5. We appreciate drivers have to wait for additional time at flight pick ups but the extra charge could have been notified in a more professional manner than via a hostile rant and blaming my parents for a delay they have no control over. When I called Hansom following the incident, they refused to apologise or even acknowledge the situation could have been handled better. Call handler used every excuse under the sun to justify the driver's hostile behaviour And in response to your (yet further) unprofessional reaction below, the £5 is not the issue (they paid it without complaining) - it was the fact that your driver shouted at them in order to get the £5 and you failed to even acknowledge it could have been managed better. The behaviour was appalling. The purpose of online reviews is to inform consumers of good or poor services - if you don't like it, then improve your service.

I have used this firm a couple of times before and found the young guy on the phone to be very helpful. On this occasion when i called, I spoke to a woman who seemed to have the hump and was so miserable. I explained that I had a pram and that I needed a return cab. There were no cabs available and so i asked if the driver would be patient while I installed my car seat. A cab did arrive and so foolishly I returned the seat and put my 16 month old into her pram. The driver was very helpful with my pram, I explained I had booked a return and he told me to call the firm. When I did call, I spoke to a young man who said there had been no return booked and that I probably wouldn't be able to get a cab and kept offering me a car. I explained that this wasn't suitable as i didnt have a car seat and that the error was on their part, to which he stated, "what do you want me to do? Buy you a black cab and send it to you". The guy was rude, arrogant and cocky and has no concept of customer service. Being polite cost nothing, your cab cost me £10 and a cold wait at the bus stop with a baby.

SABENA: Such A Bloody Experience Never Again. Emailed the company about this but surprise surprise there's nil, zilch, not a peep from them. So here goes. Driver couldn't give a toss whether we were there or not. Sorry if we inconvenienced you pal. But if you want a white knuckle ride he's your man. U turn to outrun cars coming along Waterloo Way was just the Starter. And don't try crossing St George's Way when he's coming down it 'cos he don't slow, brake, or avoid folks, nearly bagged a treble. A bit more right foot and he'd have had all 3. Tried again on Burley's Way but missed him. Never said a word to us but found the inclination to chat to his mate on his mobile. A long chat, they must be old mates, only took 3 miles. Couldn't be bothered to ask our address, dropped us 50 metres from home - "This do?" SABENA

Never ever use Hansoms again after my latest experience. After getting off the train I required a taxi and didn't want to wait. So I decided to go to Hansoms. The driver I got I'm not sure where his head was at but it was the worst journey I have ever had, and I use taxis daily! The driver had all the windows open, wouldn't mind but it was minus 1 out and he didn't want to shut the windows, plus I can only describe his driving as incompetence. He kept tapping the brake for no reason, so we was close to bunny hopping all the way, for a 10 minute drive it was the longest journey ever. All that and he still got a £4 tip becouse he couldn't change a tenner, absolutely ridiculous. I DONT RECOMMEND and suggest you wait and order one their are plenty good ones to choose from.

I visit my boyfriend almost every week, so its nice to have a taxi company right next to the station. But this company is very sneaky? I catch it at the same place every week at their base and i am charged different price each time for the same location. I've been charged £8.00, £8.40, £8.70, and £9.70. I've spoken to the manager before who said if i gave him my details he would text me the same price and its like a membership kinda thing, it took weeks, to months. Nothing. Not reliable, a range of prices for the same location. Siuch a joke. I will not be using them again. EVEN WORSE. I'VE EMAILED AND GOT NO RESPONSE. NO CARE FOR THE CUSTOMER. A JOKE.

We had to be at the crematorium and were running late so decided to try this outfit instead of black cabs at the train station. We rushed into the office but the man behind the counter was on his mobile phone and only glanced at us. He was on it for another minute and as we stood there, the office phone rang. He then answered it, without putting his mobile down, still ignoring us. At that point we decided to go to the train station and as we walked out the door the man finally asked if he could help us. We then got a black cab. Your company lost a £15 fare and we will not recommend you to anyone.

Just got out of a taxi from Leicester to Narborough. Asked for a receipt and the best I get is a dooddle on the back of a card... never again I'd rather walk or catch bus Edited I can tell you didn't fall far from the tree. I never disputed the type of receipt I disputed the info on the back, which if you'd bother reading my review stated was no better than a doodle.... buses do give you a receipt in the form of a ticket or a digital mark if your paying by card. Anyway I think I've given you enough of my time, have a good night.

Wrost experience ever i have been in leicester many years i havent had before any wrost experience than thus .I booked a taxi to go to airport . Arrived at the taxi place to ask for my taxi suddenly been told that there is no driver when i had previously had booked the taxi already . But the most important was nobody called me at least to tell me that they will cancel my booking only was told last minute . Really unprofessional !

Shocking the worst taxi ride in my life, from the moment we got into the taxi until we arrived home all the driver did was have a conversation on his phone he was still doing this when I paid him, I cannot remember when I did not tip a taxi driver I always do but not this this guy. We will never ever use this company again and tell everyone we can to do the same I'm shocked that the driver thought that this was ok!!!!!!!

I booked a cab for my 15yr old sister to meet up with her friends at the cinema. Anyway he got here eventually but on the way this guy was asking my sister what faith she is and she should convert to Islam and apparently "people who ain't Muslim die in hellfire", oh yeah and again apparently she would make a good Muslim wife and being pervy, she's 15 for f**ks sake what's wrong this pr**k. I have been with Hansom Cabs for while now, I am based in Leicester and I know pretty much the traffic conditions at each time, so whether they need to follow the standard route or derouting, they always chose the best option and never afffected the fair of the ride..which is the chapest in Leicester! And literally they are only 30sec walk from the train Station...Awesome! ..."Hansom Taxis, they are Awesome! :D

Tried these before and they were ok. However, I booked a cab today about 45 minutes early. The cab didn't arrive so 5 minutes later I called to see where it was to be told that the driver was still at home but they could send one from the office, which would take another 15 minutes. Poor service really, I had to be somewhere so now going to be late. I won't be booking again.

Dreadful! - Driver spent the whole time on his mobile phone. Careless driver, didn't feel safe in the car and asked to be let out. When I contacted Hansom, they didn't reply or respond. I voiced it on Twitter publicly and they simply blocked me. Just look at the rest of the one star reviews, they're rubbish!

Worst experience to date, rang for a taxi told 10 mins, waited 30mins, rang again and was told the intended driver had disappeared and thereafter my calls were ignored. Waited 80 mins for a taxi. Rang from another number and basically was told they never received any of my calls. Atrocious service.

Bad service, first of all ordered a taxi to be told it would be half hour, rang again to find out where it is as it wasn't coming, person on line said it had already been and picked us up!! Bad bad service, will never use. Had to ring another taxi to wait another half hour. Pure joke

Absolutely disgraceful, ordered a taxi for 8.15AM for them to ring me at 8.20 to tell me the driver wouldn't get to me until 8.55AM, lady on the phone was rude and obnoxious, she then later hung the phone up on me and wouldn't re-answer. Never will I use ever again.

Great taxi company,I used these to get me from Leicester train station to the national space centre museum,2 people £8..I used them again to make the return journey and they arrived on time,£9 back though ? Prompt and reliable and safe steady drivers..

I avoid using taxis as I can generally walk home but the instances of getting back 3am, I just want to get home. Booking the cab online wasn't simple so I booked as a walk-in. Simple, friendly, efficient & not expensive........exactly what one wants

Horrible service, you work on their schedule or who they prefer. People who arrived and asked for a taxi after me were given the first one available. About £1 cheaper to go 3 miles, but next time I'll splash out and go for the better service.

I would not recommend this taxi firm to anyone. They charged me fixed price of £9.50 for a journey that was not even 1 mile away and lasted no more than 5 mins. They robbed me of my hard earned money. Dont use this firm that ripps people off.

No warning or apology for a taxi no show this morning, journey subcontracted out and car arrived nearly 20 mins after my originally booked time. When I called I was told my car was 3/4mins late! Just tell the truth guys!

Ordered a taxi 30 mins before my train, the taxi didn't turn up so rang to order another one which also didn't turn up in time I had to get in another taxi that someone didn't get in to get to my train in time

The only Taxi Service we use and trust, Rang up and taxi driver there in a matter of minutes, never let us down !!!!!! Fares are cheap and very reasonable, havent got one bad thing to say about them :D

I took a taxi from here to literally 3 minutes away to Welford Road, I've got a bad leg so I couldn't walk there, they charged me £6.50 which I think is diabolical!
