I decided I wanted my partner and I to check out Harlem, I'd heard their coffee was good, and I'm always excited to try a cafe. We got there and I liked the vibe. We ordered, and our coffees didn't too long to arrive at our table, and it was a perfect caramel latte. Food took longer than I thought, but nothing too extreme. Once our food arrived, I was so excited to eat that I forgot to take before photos, and my partner and I just hoed in. I can honestly say the presentation was so appealing. I got the pancakes as they were out of waffles, but let me tell you, everything was perfect, they had syrup and icecream in tiny separate bowls and not preloaded on top to make my pancakes soggy and the stack was a perfect amount with all the fresh berries and fruit flavouring that was beautiful spread across a portion of my plate. Everything worked, and it was delightful. I stole a few chips of my parters plate, which equally tasted lovely, and he assured me his burger was too. Lovely Cafe, I would go again.

I walked in asking for a table for one, I got asked if I would like a drink, I asked for the menu first. I got the menu and placed my order which took almost 10 minutes I (clearly single people don’t get the respect?) asked for orange juice (how is a café out of all juices but the black lemonade?) I took one mouthful of my brunch! give me a break guys! Maybe around the 2 minute meal check is when you approach a patron!? Then I had to listen to the owner sharing his personal information to a couple (where they were both enjoying the same conversation! But not for the rest of the patrons In the cafe as I felt extremely uncomfortable! Nor should I see him leaning near the coffee machine Owner Take your laptop elsewhere not in the cafe! Bad energy

Had a latte and the breakfast burger today. Firstly, the breakfast burger is elite. Fresh bacon and egg and hash brown, cheese, relish and hollandaise, all on a delicious toasted burger bun. This is clearly one of the best meals in the area. Actually, not one of the best, I reckon the best. It's $15. Elite. Plus that along with the best coffee in the region and you've got (in my opinion) the only cafe to go back to down this way. Superb. Great work fam keep it up. I could defs go that burger all day. I'll take a pic next time. So good!!!

Just one word sums up our lazy Easter Sunday breakfast experience at Harlem’s awesome little corner cafe … “Sensational “ ! From the perfect Latte to our Smashed Avo breakfast for the Mrs and a Pulled Pork shoulder Eggs Beni for myself … both meals were just … Sensational. Staff were awesome and friendly, the vibe was great filled with locals and out of towners experiencing one of the best places to grab a bite before exploring the area. Put this place in your “ Gotta try this cafe “ list when heading to Somerville or Mornington Peninsula as it won’t disappoint . And to be honest, one of THE best breakfast meals I’ve ever had !

Very dissapointed all round..Started off with waiting 40min for water and coffee..then, the waitress forgot our order and it wasn't put through. Upon realising, it still took us over an hr for food. You can't say 'the kitchen was busy' guys when we watched people go in and out before us with orders. Not good enough, just admit you stuffed up... Apologies given by staff and a round of drinks was offered for the 'forgotten order' and 'wait time'..(we didn't accept) Still, we got charged full price in the end

I am seriously loving this cafe. In a slightly unexpected spot, this absolute gem serves delicious food, plays great music, and makes the most mind blowing coffees I've had this side of Italy. Popular with the locals, the decor is simple and slightly cold, but the staff are attentive, and if you can get a spot in the sun, you're laughing. This place is a bit of a drive for me, but well worth it every time. (Lastly, the very simple Milk & Honey is a surprising favourite)

My daughter has an allergy so I requested the burger to be swapped out with the vegan brioche bun. The waiter came back out and advised that the beef patty has the allergen throughout it which was extremely crucial to know and they offered to alter their menu for us to enjoy pulled pork burger instead! The coffee were great and so were the adjusted burgers we had. Thank you for being aware of the allergens!!

A mixed review. Inflation is getting the best of us as the smashed avo came with avo on one toast and a sneaky plain toast tucked underneath + undercooked bacon (despite asking for extra crispy bacon) garnished with lots of rocket leaves to give us the illusion that the plate is full. Almost 30 dollars for that one plate. I, on the other hand, had a great breakfast burger and matcha milkshake. But… it’s not really a good experience when your partner does not enjoy his meal. Bummer. We both decided we’d probably not come back.

This is hands down the best place in Somerville for coffee, breakfast, lunch or dinner. Not only is the food and coffee great but the customer service is top notch. We are Somerville locals and have been to every cafe/restaurant in the suburb. If you are just visiting Somerville and have to choose only 1 place to go you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended. Keep up the great work team.

Not normally one for making reviews but this place stood out. Best service I’ve had in a cafe for a long time. Made a phone order to take away. Lovely place to dine in. All three of us loved our meals. We all got the beef burgers with chips. Yum. Staff very pleasant and friendly. Lattes were good and we asked for extra hot and they were served as such. Will definitely return soon. Only complaint is the venue is very echoey but that won’t deter us from returning.

Fantastic lunch time stop after a morning at moonlit sanctuary ^^ great coffee, great food, friendly staff, everyone sat outdoors enjoying the sun, and it felt like a peak Melbourne experience I was looking for as a tourist ^^ shakshouka (special weekly menu) is extremely vegetarian with tons of bell peppers which I love, but maybe not for the more carnivorous ppl ^^

Been going here ever since it got changed over to Harlem and never been dissapointed. Food and Coffee are both consistently good. Definately in the higher price bracket for a cafe but you will get what you pay for. Go help out a great local business by grabbing a coffee or feed here!

Great vibe about this restaurant/cafe In the heart of the Somerville village. Food is well prepared and very tasty, served by a team of happy and efficient staff, which to me is an indication of caring management , but the topping on the cake is their fantastic coffee, which is so good that you will be back again and again. Well done Harlem.

My girlfriend who grew up on the Peninsula said Harlem has the best coffee going around. Yep Jess was spot on. Great coffee and exceptional customer service. Staff are nice, food seems good but hot damn they take an age to make one coffee…. I’m currently sitting here waiting for my take away latte watching this barista talk to another staff member and I could have made 7 coffees in the time he has got half way through mine.

Harlem is our favourite coffee place on the peninsula. Dan and Carlos have always made us feel welcomed! Coffee is a 10/10 as is their insanely delicious menu. And of course the huge marshmallow that comes with the baby chino is a big hit with the littles

Great service. Fantastic coffee. The banana cake was fresh and tasty. My daughter was impressed by the extra large marshmallow with her babycino. Totally nailing it !

Very nice modern Cafe. Delicious coffee and fantastic food. Great little coffee shop tucked away in Somerville. The walk up coffee window is great to stop at during your morning walk for that wake up coffee hit. Highly recommended.

I normally go in and order for my extended family which includes 8-10 coffees in one order, all with different milks and sizes. The baristas deliver every single one to perfection and the wait is never long. Well done guy ☕ …

Hands down the best coffee I have ever had, whether that be decaf, regular or a hot choc. I'm a trained barissta and have had coffee all over Australia and nothing beats this place. Always lovely customer service too!

Harlem is a fairly new business that has definitely outshined other local cafes. It has consistently delicious coffee and food. It's not too pricey either. Props to the chef who creates their scrummy dishes!

Looking for a nice morning tea as working in the area at the moment..Egg and Bacon Brioce was to die for, Lovely quality breads and sandwiches on offer also. European style yumminess!

Every crew member at harlem makes you feel incredibly special, the coffee is arguably the best in Victoria and the food… the food is WOW! My new daily, that’s for sure.
