I have thought long and hard about leaving this review and am doing so after much consideration. I was recommended Harvest Pointe by a Vet at the Edmonton Holistic Clinic. I was looking for an "every day" vet that I could take my then puppy to without needing to always go through the holistic clinic for run of the mill checkups / emergencies etc. I've had a few experiences with Harvest Pointe - initially our vet was Dr. Mandrusiak which was AMAZING. He stopped taking dog and cat patients shortly after our last visit with him and we were booked in with Dr. Bousquet for the next two visits (one with each of my pups) and after the first visit I had a long convo with the clinic about our experience which I wasn't happy about. I did tell them I wanted to give the clinic another shot as I did like it and would come back even though I was very unhappy. We came into another "emergency" visit 2 weeks ago and got Dr. Bousquet again and our experience was almost exactly what it was previously. We were sold, recommended and multiple issues were raised - none of which were issues we came in for, complained about or had concerns for. Visits with her feel very salesy and the focus of why you're there is often overshadowed it feels like. I understand the "checkup" and normally I would appreciate the extra care of a full exam, except I was there for a specific reason - not to be sold supplements and different foods for things I'm not even concerned about - at all. It feels like she looks for "issues" - this has been consistent with both visits we had with her and it's rubbed me the wrong way both times. I've since decided to move clinics and our initial visit was night and day different. Vets are human - they have the hardest job and I respect the hell out of them for all they do. My experience with Dr. Bousquet likely was a personality difference between her and I and I'm sure for some she's incredible. All the vets at this clinic express a desire to focus on exotic pets and that is where I believe they excel. I wouldn't recommend this clinic for dog/cat visits. Initially I had recommended this clinic to everyone I knew but given my last couple of experiences, I just can't anymore.

Harvest Pointe Animal Hospital has fantastic and compassionate reception staff, vet techs and veterinarians. I could not get in to see my usual vet when my chinchilla was starting to act out of character, and I was given a list of alternate exotic pet specialists in the city. After desperately calling around, they were able to get me in as a drop off appointment to be seen in between the regularly scheduled appointments. Detailed discharge notes were helpful in assisting me retain all the information provided by the staff during a stressful time. I was provided with clear pre-surgery instructions that were easy to follow as well as a demonstration on how to administer subcutaneous fluids correctly. Dr. Ogle performed the cystotomy surgery, and miraculously my little gal pulled through. I can't emphasize how challenging operating on small pets must be, and I was surprised and impressed at the successful surgery. This team is clearly very talented at what they do. Unfortunately, other medical issues my little one had did not improve and they again accommodated her as a drop off a couple of days later. Her condition had deteriorated and I had to make the difficult decision to put her down. The experience was as positive as it could possibly be, all the staff were genuine and empathetic. The process was fully explained to me and I was able to spend a lot of time with my pet before relieving her of her pain. I at no point felt rushed, and I appreciated that the paperwork etc. was completed beforehand to make the process much smoother and less upsetting. The last thing you want to think about after putting your pet down is money. Dr. Bousquet performed the euthanasia and she made me feel so at ease. I really appreciate her approach and her very kind words to me afterward. I am of course immensely sad about the need to put down Kuroko, but I appreciate all the professionalism and kindness of the staff here who did their best to do right by her throughout the process. I don’t generally post bad reviews as I know it can harm a business. However, since this involves the well-being of helpless animals and their unsuspecting guardians, I feel like I have to. Dr. Bousquet saw my cat for blood work prior to a dental. During the exam she tried to shame me for the raw diet I fed him. I calmly explained to her that it was my last resort after trying everything else(including vet prescription diet that didn’t work), and that the diet improved his health dramatically. She was very loud and aggressive and told me that she has to warn me of the dangers because I might come back and sue her when my cat dies. She then tried to upsell her services, which felt like a used car salesmen tactic by saying if I booked vaccines now, I would get a discount. Her bedside manner was absolutely appalling and upsetting. After I went home and she called me with the blood work results, she told me my cat had crystals in his urine and his kidney levels were abnormal. Of course I was terrified and scared for my cat. She again told me that he needs to get on a prescription diet and that he needs extra testing and all this other stuff. Because she wasn’t my regular vet, I had the results sent to my cat’s original vet(they don’t do dentals there), and I asked her to review the results. I was shocked when she told me that the results were perfectly normal and that I had NOTHING to worry about. She then explained why I didn’t have to worry and that she was so sorry that I had to go through that experience with Dr. Bousquet. I am so angry that this happened. I can only assume that there are other people that have had this experience with her, and I felt compelled to warn anyone that might be considering seeing her. It was the worst experience I have ever had with a vet, and I’ve had animals for the last 25 years. Please be careful and get a second opinion if you do decide to go to this clinic and see this particular vet.

I have not had a bad experience or moment here ever. They first saw my guinea pig after being referred to by another vet to diagnose and treat a heart condition. They were very thorough and allowed me to advocate for treatment choices without any pressure, as well as provide wonderful patient education. Fast forward almost four months later and I am here regularly for all the guinea pigs I started to rescue. Most have special needs or are elderly and they have done a phenomenal job caring for and treating any concerns. The money you pay to have this care is worth it and more than makes up for it with the support you get outside the clinic. They are always available to answer any questions or concerns... And I have a lot! In my opinion there are two vets in the city that will have such an extensive knowledge in exotic animals and between the two, this is the only vet I never feel overcharged. They also go over prices before to ensure you understand what you are paying for. I believe I have met every vet between all the consults or checkups and each one is amazing with extensive knowledge. I feel I am able to discuss various topics with them and am amazed at the things I have learned. Every time I adopt a rescue out or assist other owners with care I always recommend this vet. If you have an exotic pet, you need to have a vet that has that knowledge because it saves their life. The money you spend here is for the wellbeing of your animals and beyond worth it. The reception and services are also exceptional and it's always a pleasure to have these guys there to treat all my many babies.

We took our sick budgie, Jude, here after calling around to find a vet that did birds, and they went above and beyond for us. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a very welcoming atmosphere, from the physical layout of the clinic to the friendly receptionists. We quickly got seen by a vet tech and vet, who answered all our questions, clearly and honestly explained things, and offered us the best options based on their expert opinions. Sadly, Jude did not make it through the appointment due to his condition, but given the situation, that was unfortunately a likely outcome. After receiving the sad news, we were given time and space to grieve, and offered post-morten options. Regardless of the sad outcome, at no point did we feel like we weren't taken care of. It is very clear the staff here care deeply about their patients and pet owners, and they grieve right alongside you through sad outcomes. They even mailed us a card just recently expressing their sympathies, which we definitely weren't expecting, but which touched us deeply ❤️ We would definitely recommend Harvest Pointe Animal Hospital for any pet owners, and as a matter of fact, will be switching to them for our other pets for any future appointments. I cannot sing the praises of Dr. Olge and her team enough! From the moment we walked through the door, it was clear that this practice is something special. The genuine love and concern they have for animals shines through in every interaction. The entire team at Harvest Pointe Animal Hospital radiates compassion and professionalism. They treat every animal as if they were their own, and it's evident in the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the clinic. Best vet clinic I have ever been to, I have been to several that make you feel like they’re just out to get your money and don’t actually care about the animal, however I did not get that feeling at harvest pointe. Doctor Theresa is AMAZING, very passionate, knowledgeable and wicked awesome personality just a joy to be around. Very clear on prices/procedures that might need to be done with no hidden costs or anything that will surprise you when it comes time to pay. I feel like my rabbit was very well taken care of in a very professional, yet fun environment. Love that she actually takes the time to call to check up. 10000/10 Front desk staff were also very kind and great to deal with. Thank you to the incredible team at harvest pointe ❤️ :)

The people here, from the reception to the vets themselves all deeply care for the welfare of the animals that are brought in to see them. They're also quite kind and extremely informative to the owners, which I am very grateful for. They will go over what they do and their treatment plans for the animals in detail, and won't mince words when it comes to what would be best for them. I 100% recommend bringing your pets here if you want honest advice from such wonderful people who treat the animals with respect and incredible kindness. They're very accommodating and willing to offer advice over the phone in the case of needing to ask questions or make appointments as well.

Updating my review; we've been going here for years and have seen most(all?) The vets and the majority of them are great. However we recently had an appointment with Dr. Bousquet and I can't comment on her actual veterinary skills which I'm sure are excellent as it was a routine checkup but she brushed off concerns and questions without answers and seemed to have trouble communicating and left the room and sent in a vet tech to do all her talking. It was a very weird appointment which left us with more questions than answers and we'll be seeing other vets at this location in the future as looking now I'm seeing other reviews with similar complaints.

I don’t usually take the time to write reviews but I felt I needed to after my experience today. Dr. Daren is kind, knowledgeable and patient. He took the time to explain all the options in a non judgemental way and gave space for me to process/make a decision. He is very knowledgeable about exotic birds including peafowl/peacocks (I was there with my peahen). I can’t say enough about how comforting it was to feel supported on whatever option I chose; on an already really sad day. I will definitely recommend Dr Daren to people with exotic birds. Thank you for your kind, compassionate and respectful care.

All I have to say about this place is that I can’t thank them enough for their care for my Guinea pig Snowflake. Dr Daren and Dr Ogle are amazing and very knowledgeable, both took the time to examine my Guinea pigs at different times and have always knew what was wrong. Both were very kind, and very empathetic. I can’t express how amazing this place is, it’s clean, and they have a very caring team. I also want to thank the RVT team, as they have taken such good care of snowflake. This vet is extremely professional, and I highly recommend harvest pointe animal hospital. Thank you again.

I’m not the type to share my experience but it was awful. Bring our dog in for a quick procedure that takes 5 minutes for an expense that was absurd. They didn’t do it properly the first time so we had to book another appointment. Canceled appointment as they said it wouldn’t be discounted the second time around for a job that wasn’t done properly. Took our dog into a better place and got the treatment he needed and for a price that was way better. So thankful my dog is better now but I’m astonished by the lack of customer service. I took my hamster to harvest point because they are open on sundays and it ended up being the best vet ive ever been to. They cared for her and made sure i always felt comfortable, anwsered all my questions. She had health issues and i was at the vet a few times a year. They where always very informative with any of the medication and the items she needed. They always got me in at the next avalible notice, going above and beyond. When she passed away they sent us a card and informed us they made a donation towards an animal rescue on her behalf. Thank you for all you did!

This veterinary clinic is nothing short of exceptional. I brought my 14 year old bearded dragon in who needed end of life pain relief (which they diagnosed) and they were so sincerely sympathetic about the situation. The experience from the very first interaction with the clinic to the last follow up call after he passed was wonderful in such a troubling time for us. They were also very clear and factual with everything that was going on so there were no surprises. We worked with Dr.Bousquet who was amazing. Thank you to this above and beyond clinic!

Phenomenal staff from front end to back. They were very professional, knowledgeable, caring and empathetic during a very tough time for me and my hedgehog Mochi. Really clear communication and always willing to take the time to explain what is happening with your pet. They led me through the whole process well, while keeping me informed and providing me with good advice, updates and many options. 5 stars is not enough for this wonderful team and location. Great place to take your pet if you are looking for amazing care. We drove from Wetaskiwin to have our kitten looked at after being denied help from local vets as we were not previous clients. We had used Harvest Pointe in the past for our dog when we lived in the area and already knew they provided great care. The business hours make it a very convenient vet to go to for busy working individuals. Thank you again to all the staff at Harvest Pointe for the great care you provided to the extension of our family.

Dr.D is the absolute best. We were so worried about our bird Quinn. He handled Quinn amazingly. Quinn is a very shy bird and afraid of everything (the first 10 years of his life weren't the best). We have had him for 2 years and have been working really hard with his fear of everything so going to the vet was concerning for us. But Quinn handled it like a champ thanks to Dr. D. He sat with us for quite some time and answered all of our questions and made us feel like really good parrot parents. Thank you ❤️

I swear I will never use another vet again, I had brought in an exotic animal, no other vet was willing to help me with just a teeth trimming! Dr Daren helped the little guy and is willing to help further with everything else he needs! Him and the entire crew at harvest pointe are super friendly and make u feel comfortable with leaving your animal with them. 1000% recommend, I will bring any animal here from now on! They actually care about your animals. I cant thank them enough!

Always amazing with my Exotic Animals. I can always trust any of the Doctor's when I go there. Had yet to have a bad experience, each and every one of their Doctor's took the time to explain things to me clearly and kindly. If you have an Exotic Animal this is the place to go! They've done all my needs for my Chinchilla's and my Turtle. If you are unsure, call them first and ask. I was hesitant at first but now I won't take my Exotic's anywhere else unless an absolute emergency.

I had a freak accident with my parrot and they were very compassionate and the avian vet assured me that it wasn't my fault. My parrot was released for the night after treatment but unfortunately didn't make it through the night. This vet was very good about it. Cremation was reasonably priced. They had a broucher of urns for me to pick from. They gave me time to say my goodbyes. They collected some feathers for me to make a memorial art project and saved his leg band for me.

Dr.Bousquet is an amazingly compassionate veterinarian, she was so caring with my guinea pig, and she did all she could to make the end of life care easier on him. She was so gentle with him, and I will never go to another exotic vet for as long as she continues to work there. The front staff are lovely, very nice, and they definitely try to get you in with your little furry(or scaly, or hairless) companions. I highly recommend this clinic for anyone with exotics.

Very clean and friendly, the staff really care and are great with all types of animals. I had to bring in my snake and the vet was a pleasure to work with and was very comfortable with working with my python. Bright windows in the rooms make it feel less like a cold doctor's office. As a bonus they are very inclusive when it comes to respecting the LGBTQ2+ population even asking for pronouns on the welcome sheet.

Best exotic animal clinic in Edmonton! all of the vets and techs are always friendly and fantastic with my rabbits. Dr. Mandrusiak did a fantastic job spaying my little 2.5lb dwarf rabbit girl when other clinics turned her away due to her small size, Dr. Liboiron was amazing with my Charlie when she needed an emergency injury stitched up, and Dr. Ogle is always gentle with my babies during check ups

Extremely over priced. They quoted me $1481-$2398 for my 8 pound chis dental extractions, it ended up being over $3000 and they never told me it would be that high, the vet simply said that they had to take out quite a few over the phone, but I was not aware it would cost as much, if I had known, I would’ve got elsewhere. Feels more like they want your money than actually care about your pet.

We have taken our guinea pig here multiple times and the vets have been very knowledgeable and compassionate. The only negative experience I had was picking up medication, I was told it would be ready to pick up and when I got there they couldn't find it and I had to wait 35 minutes. Next time I would just call to confirm before I left home. Would definitely recommend

I just went here today and I absolutely loved it! And so did my girl Laeya they made sure she was comfy and happy, and helped with any questions I had! My bunny saw Dr. Allison and she was great. So thorough with the exam and friendly and empathetic. They were all friendly and helpful. I loved that they have pictures of other animals besides cats and dogs on their walls... like rabbits, birds and reptiles. A well rounded vet hospital.

Well our sweet boy did it again and got into something he shouldnt have . The clinic was great at fitting him in and explaning everything. Our boy was so comfortabke with staff which is not normal at all. The front staff was personal and knowlegable as well as friendly.

They are very knowledgeable and take time to explain what is happening with your pet. I have a bearded dragon and she has some issues, they have been very helpful and accommodating to my needs. Highly recommend. Dr. Alice is very knowledgeable in Reptiles.

No pet gets left behind at this facility they have a range Veterinarians that can take care of just about anything from ones that have worked at wildlife facilities, to ones who take special interest in caring for and having reptiles.

I had both my rabbits spayed/neutered here with Dr. Darren. He was excellent and both rabbits did well :) the techs are great with them too. I like knowing I bring them to a vet that is so knowledgeable in exotics.

Paid for procedure, told it was good. Problem still occurring. Then I was told that I MIGHT have to pay again for the same short procedure… but most likely will have to pay again. Lost business. Not happy.

Just brought in my little snake for a wellness checkup. Super happy to find a vet near me that deals with reptiles! The staff were all super friendly and the clinic was nice and clean. Highly recommended!

The service is good, but they are way too overpriced. They say that they follow some sort of “guidelines” for pricing, but I doubt it. The first other vet I called was 20-30% cheaper on ALL services.

I only ever hear good things about Harvest Pointe Anima Hospital. Our older dog just passed but when we get a new family addition we will come here. The location is beautiful!

We always take our guinea pigs here because they are so well cared for. Dr. Alice and Darin have a lot of knowledge of small exotic pets and do a great job each time.
