We cannot recommend this company. TL:DR two failed inspections and over an extra thousand dollars in costs, left us with little trust in this company. When we asked them to pay for the final inspection they ghosted us. We hired them in April 2023 for installation of a energy divider controller and to hookup our hot tub. They did an onsite inspection of our residence and gave us a very competitive quote, they are a local company, and they have good reviews, so we hired them. The energy divider controller was installed and we believed everything was fine. The electrician showed up to do the hot tub hookup when the hot tub was delivered to our residence at the end of April 2023. Everything seemed fine, although the electrician was hooking up the hot tub for many hours. After she left, the hot tub installer told us she had wired the hot tub wrong, and we started to get a sinking feeling in our stomachs. All the work was complete so we schedule our first inspection with the City of Edmonton. The inspector came to our residence in early May 2023. We thought everything would pass no problem - we were wrong. The inspector identified many deficiencies in the work done by Hauer Power, in both the energy divider controller and the hot tub connect. The biggest surprise we got was Hauer Power told us we had to build a "plexiglass" barrier at our own expense between the hot tub and the spa package. We were not given exact dimensions for this barrier. We constructed a plexiglass barrier ourselves without any guidance from anyone. And tried to get Hauer Power to correct some of the other problems identified by the City. One issue was that there was an electrical socket on our deck which was within 1.5 m of the hot tub. Hauer Power's solution was to remove this GFCI plug and put a blank in the socket (disable the socket). This was our only GFCI plug for our outside electrical. This left all our outside electrical plugs inoperative for all the summer months. We have a BBQ which requires a plugin, so we had to run huge electrical cords across our garage. We finally felt that everything had been dealt with to the best of our and Hauer Power's ability. And we phoned the City for another inspection in early June 2023. The inspector came and we thought everything was okay, but later that day when we got the report. It failed again. The plexiglass barrier was not high enough, the energy divider controller was not set correctly, the calculations were not given to the city, etc. We were so tired and frustrated at this point we could have cried. However, since we hired Hauer Power we had to trust them to finish the job, so we started e-mailing and phoning them again. It took ALL summer to get them to come and "fix" the problems. Most of the problems they forced us to take care of. They told us to send pictures of the hot tub stickers to the City and fight with them. They were always "too busy" to help us or respond promptly to our emails and phone calls. On top of that we had to build a second huge plexiglass barrier that was six feet tall at our own expense. Hauer Power never did fix the GFCI plug, they just did something at the panel to get the external plugs working (which means now all our external outlets are not GFCI protected which leaves our family at risk of electrical shocks). Finally in September 2023 we thought we had everything ready again. So we called the City for a third inspection and guess what they told us..."you have an outstanding bill of $280 dollars which must be paid before you can schedule your third inspection?" We were confused. "Isn't Hauer Power responsible for this?" The City said "we don't get involved between you and your contractor." So we emailed Hauer Power and begged them to please pay the bill so we could finally have this nightmare over. We waited for 2 weeks with no response. We were tired, we were frustrated, and they...ghosted us? They never replied to our email. We paid the $280 and scheduled the 3rd inspection with the City in late Sept 2023. Passed.

As you can see, I only write one star or five star reviews. Danny at Hauer Power came recommended from the Ceiling Centre as their preferred electrician, since we were doing a drop ceiling downstairs. Danny came out to do a quote promptly and was professional, kind, asked the right questions, and knew his stuff. He was my second quote and we ended up choosing Hauer Power because of it. When I had questions, I was able to speak with Ryan (the owner) directly and he answered all my questions regarding materials, install, labour, etc. We had the following items completed: -Bathroom ensuite fan install (no previous fan) -Range hood install for the stove (no previous fan) -Switch and plug replacement in our entire basement -Rewired our entire basement, pretty much -Removed and cleaned up excess / old / useless low voltage wiring done by a previous homeowner that looked like a rat's nest -Service upgrade with a new electrical panel -Installed new light fixtures, including all the potlights in our drop ceiling -Rewired switches and gave good suggestions re: organization and layout of switches, lights, etc. Overall, the installers, Goran and Mark, were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They did the job of drilling through my roof to place the vents properly, as I inspected afterwards. Cleanup was satisfactory. The job itself was perfect. As a dentist, I consider myself a stickler for attention to detail as my world exists in a few millimeters, and I was impressed to the level at which the electricians were working. All the wiring was neat and organized, and laid out well for future expansion / revision, as necessary. Overall, the Team at Hauer Power did a lovely job, and I'd be happy to have them do the rest of the work we need done at our house, and I'd have the confidence for Goran to wire up a new house if necessary. Price was fair, and the work and professionalism was excellent. A+++!

Based on their google reviews and a couple of recommendations from people I know in the HVAC industry I hired this company to do a electrical service upgrade in my 60 year old house. Their booking and estimating system is flawless and Danny took the time to make sure I knew exactly what would transpire the day if the upgrade. The upgrade went very smooth despite it being 32 degrees outside and the guys obviously struggling with the heat. Brennan was the journeyman and definitely knows his stuff. Unfortunately after they left I found tar spots on my carpeting as well as some less than acceptable drywall issues where they moved a plug. I emailed the pictures and Ryan called me the next morning to set up a plan to fix the issues. Brendan came back, cleaned the carpet spots and took care of the other issues. No attitude at all, he was just as pleasant as the first time he was here. He said it would be best if a drywaller did the repair to make sure it was done right so left without fixing that but said Ryan was aware and would take care if it. They hired John Frunchak of Frunchak drywall and painting. Took him a couple weeks to come and do the job as it was a small repair and he prefers to bunch those types of calls and do them all at once. That was fine by me, especially now that he has been here and done the job. Great guy, great work and it says a lot that Hauer would hire this type of a company to solve my problem. The five star rating reflects the excellent work they did during the service upgrade but moreso it reflects on the integrity of the owner and employees who stepped up to “ make it right” and they did exactly that. Will be calling them again to install a bath fan since we dont have one. Would not call anyone else…not a chance.

Hauer Power did a full panel upgrade as well as many misc. electrical fixes for a new acreage we purchased. Daniel has excellent customer service which stood apart from many of the other companies I spoke to while trying to find someone for this project and it’s ultimately why chose to use them. I enjoyed dealing with him throughout the process. There were some snags along the way such as being told I had an 8 am appointment time and therefore driving an hour from my other house to make sure I was there in time to only be told that 8 am is only when they’re supposed to leave the shop meaning that the electricians didn’t show up for an hour or two after that. We had the work done on July 15 and invoices were only sent on July 25, I would have expected them to be sent sooner. The inspector said they needed to come back and fix a minor thing but the soonest they were able to get back was August 5th which seemed quite far from the original service date. We had roofers in looking at our flashings etc. and he said the new bathroom fan was not sealed sufficiently and therefore water was leaking into the attic when it rained and I had to pay to rectify that. With all that being said Daniel took a lot of accountability and took my concerns seriously which I appreciate but based on these factors combined I can’t give 5 stars. But I do like this company and I would use them again.

I had a problem with some wiring in my house. Initially I was frustrated when the Electrician was late by about 45 minutes, I called the office to ask if someone was on their way. Ryan Hauer explained someone had called in sick and there was a oversight on their part to let me know. Within 25 minutes of my call Ryan ensured another Electrician came out, and was very apologetic and professional on the phone. Angie showed up soon after Ryan had assured me she would and was excellent. She was very professional and did quick work. Angie also did very well with me asking questions throughout the whole process and was very willing to share information about the electrical system with me and shed some more light on how my fuse panel was wired in the house. Overall the repair and explanations only took about 25 minutes and my bill came in at the estimated cost with nothing extra on it. I would recommend Hauer Power to anyone in need of an electrician within the Edmonton area. I cannot stress enough how professional, easy to deal with and courteous they are. Would recommend, and 100% would use again if the need arises. Great company, great people.

I contacted Hauer regarding a flickering light in my kitchen (ended up needing a replacement of the light fixture) plus replacing a couple of smoke detectors. I had questions I sent by email prior to booking the appointment. Ryan and Daniel were very quick to respond. I also love the fact that they sent me an electronic appointment confirmation that I was able to add to my calendar quickly. Angie was the electrician who did my installations. She was very professional and very personable. I was very happy with her service. On the next business day, Hauer sent me an electronic invoice, which l was able to pay easily with Apple Pay. I love a business that knows how to use available technology for the best client service possible! I will contact Hauer for sure if I ever need electrical work done again

Hauer Power was awesome changing out devices and pig-tailing a ton of outlets on my new house. Goran and Billy worked very well together, answered tons of questions, and were thorough with their time, efficiency and knowledge. They were more than willing to install a new outlet in the living room, and they did a great job cleaning up all the old stuff and drywall where they cut. They installed a new back exterior outlet on the house as well, leaving little to no damage or repair needing to be done to the stucco there as well. They changed out the panel and feed, moved the meter down to code, and left minimal damage to the Stucco. The office is very responsive and willing to help and work within a budget. Awesome employees and management makes for great customer service.

We lost half our panel (fried bus bar) overnight (losing our furnace…in winter…classic). I tried a three 24 hour services and two sent a call out and never got back to me. Hauer Power did and sent out Daniel in the morning. He got us back up and running with partial power and a working furnace. That day he got us a date with Epcor to shut off power for a panel replacement. We had Goran and Mark replace our panel in less than a week (only waiting on Epcor’s timeline). They were fantastic, efficient and very friendly. They also had to lower the outdoor feed box and did a great job on the exterior house work. We also have a lotta indoor only cats and they were very good about making sure none escaped. We really appreciated that. I’m really glad they answered the call.

My experience with Hauer Power so far has been awesome! Right from 1st call, I got through to the office fast and they gave me very open and honest answers to my questions and very up front conversation that gave me confidence to have them out to do the work. Then for on location quote they were fast to come out, on time, and very happy to answer questions. I did not feel rushed and had very helpful back and forth conversation to make sure I understood and was happy with the planned work. Also took the time to help me understand some other electrical issues I was having, and because of that saved me time and money. I can not wait for them to do additional work on the house, and already have them on my call list for my next large project!

I sent an email request in for a thermostat replacement and my phone was rang within minutes of hitting send. Danny took the time to listen to my rambling and answered all my questions. My appointment was booked within a few days at my convenience and they quoted a price....which is exactly what I was charged. Goran and Bill were the two technicians that came to my house. They were amazing. The pair kept me laughing all the way through the repair. Had Hauer Power come and replace three light fixtures for me. Two of the fixtures were in an open to above space that required scaffolding. Made a request for an estimate through their website and Danny responded quickly the next business day with the best quote. Was able to get an appointment for the installation a week after. On day of installation, Angie and Sheldon came on time and was quick and efficient with the three light fixture installations. They were patient with us as we had to decide the orientation for one of our fixtures. I had questions regarding other potential installations and they gave me great insight and ideas. Overall, would highly recommend and will be using them for future jobs!

This is a small company that prides itself in customer service, professionalism and trained and skilled employees. We had an 65 year old panel upgraded from 100A to 200A. There was always good communication and when there were several major challenges due to the age of our home, Goran, Bill, Danny and Ryan all worked well beyond an 8 hour days to get the job done. Last week, I used the website to book an appointment for troubleshoot and repair service because I lost power to the garage. There was some miscommunication with the online booking and the receptionist, both of which I found unreliable, and I ended up taking time off work to be home, but nobody showed up. After a call back to the office, I thought Ryan handled the situation professionally and calmly. The day after, Daniel came by to do a free quote and I found him polite, professional and punctual. He was helpful and corrected a small double-tapping issue with the breaker quickly and free of charge. The quote for further work was also received promptly as promised.

I am super impressed with the service received, usually when you hire someone to do something like this, it’s all about price… But I have to say it was unexpected the level of professionalism that Danny exuded. I hate working with electricity: it scares the heck put of me. When a breaker "jumped", shutting down the power to my bedroom and to my television and wireless modem in the living room...I knew I couldn't fix it myself! I called Hauer and they had Goran out the same day. I was very helpful to Goran: I told him he was wrong when he predicted the source of the problem .....and when he was proven to be correct, this lively man didn't gloat or even say "I told you so!". They are timely, professional, reliable, installed a plug in my closet that was much more difficult to do than initially anticipated - making it look easy, and the job completed perfectly. Dave noticed a couple of burnt wires in my panel, adjusted, tightened properly, and checked all for safety - no extra charge - concerned for safety and pride in workmanship - both Dave and Jacob were excellent, cleaned up beautifully, From my first call to them to the invoice and payment, every part of my experience was positive.

No one seemed to know what was wrong with my vacuum outlet including another electrician. So I called Hauer Power. They sent out Brendan and AJ and they fixed it right way. Brendan sure knows his stuff. He figured out what was wrong right away! I didn’t think I was going to ever get it fixed but it was no problem for Brandan. He’s an excellent electrician! I had a problem with a hard wired out dated alarm which they were able to come out and resolve the same day I call the Friday of a long weekend. They updated all our alarms and were done ahead of schedule which allowed us to leave for our camping trip that afternoon a head of the traffic. They did a great job and were clean and efficient and the cost was definitely fair for the work particularly being able to solve our problem the same day.

I had Brennan and Dallas over. They went start to finish on a brand-new Bathroom fan (from scratch) in 3 hours. They were professional, accommodating, and considerate. My house was built in the 60's so it's got a lot of old bones and wires in it. They recognized the layout immediately and were able to make it better than they found it. I strongly recommend these Sparky's to anyone needing a hand with anything in the household.

Gave us a high quality 60A to 200A service upgrade in 1950 house that is being renovated. All this for a price under what competitors were offering for a 60A to 100A or 150A upgrade. We used them to solve breaker problems we were having at a new construction home. Ryan asked me questions over the phone and gave 2 options as solutions. I picked one, they showed up on time and did what was discussed and now I have a portable ac working perfectly fine after a year of struggle. Very happy with their service and definitely recommend them for your electrical issue.

After having a terrible booking experience with a different electrical company in Edmonton, I found Hauer and am I glad I did. Not only were they able to work around my hectic schedule, they charged me less than the other company had quoted me. They installed 3 ceiling lights in my house, super quick, professional and tidy. Such quick and friendly service! We needed some lights and switches repaired and an EV Charger installed in our garage. I cannot tell you how much I love hauer! Everyone was very friendly and responsive. I felt very safe and taken care of. I was kept informed of everything the whole time and I really appreciate being able to communicate over text. The technicians are wonderful! Very clean and respectful! There was a couple of hiccups along the way but it was all taken care of.

Hauer Power came out to remove track lighting and install pot lights in my kitchen. Danny and Sheldon were very professional and did an excellent job. They communicated with me regarding light locations before making any holes or cuts. They were done in no time and left no mess at all. Will definitely hire them again for my next lighting project.

Solid 5. I had exhaust bathroom fan installed by Hauer company. House was build in 1982 so only ventilation we had is a small window in the bathroom. Guys came in the morning (on time), installed fan, done electrical part and made opening in the roof, connected all with the insulated duct I love my new fan in the bathroom.
