2 minutes ago NEW Dr Emilia Balc has been my vet for about 3 years now. I was pushed off to her at Healing Traditions by Dr Wanda whose tech assistant had made a huge mistake with my dog and didn't want to deal with it. They expressed anal glands on my rottie when I told them three different ways not to. Email, phone, and in person. Madi developed a horrible infection and leaked anal gland fluid out of her bum for almost 3 months. The whole time the rest of her health was ignored. They were so concerned about having to give me a big 1/2 free consultation that they overlooked the fact that bloodwork had not been done ever for my dog. I wanted to sue them for going against my instructions and hurting my dog. They made her last few months so unbearable for her and so very hard for me. Dr Wanda's husband finally called me to try to smooth things over. Sad she cannot deal with mistakes made in her clinic herself. My Madi was in constant pain and no one at Healing traditions cared. The front end staff are anything but compassionate. Three or four of them at the front desk and yet they still do not look after people at the counter right away. I found them to be very unfriendly and rude. When Dr Emilia finally took over she was mortified that no one had even done bloodwork. She did the bloodwork and we found out that my dog was dying. She was in full kidney failure by this time because the proper diagnostic was not done by Dr Wanda. Dr Emilia was the only person at that clinic who showed compassion and remorse at what had happened. She supported me and gave me good advice. My dog of course did not make it. Anyone who has any knowledge at all knows that kidneys cannot be fixed. Dr Emilia was a light in my life and helped me through it all with so much love in her heart. She is an amazing vet. When it came time to put down my beautiful bulldog Grace about a year later I called her and she came to my home and we cried together. She has a huge heart for animals and people. She gave Grace the most beautiful transition. It is always hard to lose an animal. It upsets me greatly to see people post reviews that are not true. Dr Emilia is the best vet I have ever had. She is smart and very knowledgable and always tells the truth. She is compassionate in all ways and does the very best she can in any given situation. There is no way in the world that she would joke and laugh about a sick animal. To tell such lies is so despicable! I guess it is easy to blame the vet when an animal dies. This is unfair and completely ignorant. Some animals can't be saved. Thats the bottom line. I highly recommend Dr Emilia for all of your veterinary needs. She is the best and Silverado clinic is lucky to have her working there. Both my dogs have passed away in the last 2 years and I am very grateful to have a compassionate caring vet in Dr Emilia Balc! Terrible experience at this veterinary clinic. Dr. Tony should not be working in a field with animals, he does not know how to read animals or have a good understanding of their behavioural cues. After my dog barked at him a few times when he walked in the room he proceeded to tell me that she is an aggressive dog and was showing her teeth to him which she did not do. He wanted us to go to the reception area to have her sit at a distance from him and when we walked by him she was sniffing his feet and he told me to get her away from him. I was so shocked at this treatment by an "animal veterinarian". In my experience Veterinarians are usually compassionate with animals and good at reading them. I decided to leave the appointment after this occurred. I would not recommend booking with the veterinarian Tony if you decide to go to this clinic. In response to the business reply below - This is not an accurate depiction of what occurred. She did not lunge forward at Dr. Tony, she barked at him when he opened the door to the room. Dr. Tony blew it way out of proportion - there are many more professional ways he could have handled the situation rather than how he handled it. It's also not just what he said, but how he said it, he spoke to me in a condescending manner. If he wasn't comfortable with my dog, why not suggest using a muzzle or something? I'm sure the clinic has those on hand, that would not have bothered me. I've never seen an "animal professional" act the way Tony did. And she was friendly with your other staff while we were there, and did accept treats from them.

For the last 2-3 years we’ve been a client at Healing Traditions. During this period our concerns were always heard, no treatment was too far off if it could help and Dr. Tony Gerrow consistently went above and beyond for our Gus. Our Gus was a special case and everybody knew that but they never gave up on us, they always supported us in every way that they could. Healing Traditions staff as become family over the last couple years. About two weeks ago we had to put our beloved Gus down. Not only did they accommodate our requests, but they went above and beyond to care for Gus in his final moments. This truly was one of the hardest days of my life, but somehow someway they managed to take care of us Humans too. Gus was very well loved at this clinic and by its entire staff. You could tell that it was a sad day for everyone in the clinic. And I just don’t think I can articulate how much I appreciate everything everyone did for Gus. Not only on his final days, but for every single appointment, bloodwork or procedure. There was never a lack of quality or care. I highly recommend bringing your fur babies here, because I promise you they will be treated as family. To the staff: Thank you for all the love and support you have poured into Gus and I. Gus hated the vet, but he loved coming to see all of you. Thank you for making his life easier in any way. And thank you for the amount of love and support on his final day. I don’t think I could have done it without all of the little things/care that the staff provided.

My little rescue dude suffered a herniated disk, was paralyzed when he went in for surgery and had a 60% chance of recovery post op. The odds went down to 20% after his surgery because he didn’t show significant improvement after surgery. I brought Diego to Healing Traditions about 6 weeks post op for an assessment and to establish a rehabilitation program. BJ was so incredibly kind and hopeful. She knows her stuff!! She set me up with some at home exercises as well as getting in a session on the first visit. She came up with a dream package with acupuncture, laser treatment, ultrasound treatment, osteopathy and water treadmills sessions to set Diego up for success. My Trupanion insurance was fantastic and thankfully covered the plan. The cost has been much better than expected since I did call other places before deciding to go with Healing Traditions. BJ, Autum and Dani have been Diego’s main recovery team, I have had such a fantastic experience during a stressful and emotional event. I am beyond thankful for all the expert care and TLC the whole staff at Healing Traditions has shown my little guy. He loves going to his “pool” sessions! Happy to report that Diego is walking on his own, even running! He is still undergoing treatment as his recovery started off slow. He is 15 weeks post surgery and has beat the odds thanks to his dream team at Healing Traditions Holistic Vet!!

My experience here in the past two years of being a client has been very disappointing. The front desk staff Alison, dr Wanda’s assistant and the manager are unprofessional and dishonest. I would not recommend this clinic to my worst enemy nor will I ever bring my pet here after seeing their true colours. Dr Wanda is the owner of the practice but she does not take the time to hear out the real issues in her clinic, especially with the front desk staff, it is quite a shame as it could have really improved her practice replacing the front desk staff and hiring some competent and most importantly honest people. Record all phone conversations with front desk staff, that’s my suggestion and don’t trust them to handle matters, I was dismissed and gaslit when I brought up an issue that could have easily been resolved. We decided to move on from their clinic due to their poor customer service, dishonesty, lack of transparency, and inability to resolve important matters……I can’t trust this clinic with my pet’s health - it takes honest people to give honest care…the poor front desk staff and dr Wandas lack of concern for us are the reason we left.

I give this clinic a 1 star review, only because they let go of one of their best veterinary doctor they had: Dr. Emilila! Since she left, I was quite disappointed with the service, to say the least. I have never encountered a more responsible, dedicated, knowledgeable and passionate veterinary doctor as Dr. Emilia! Without any hesitation, she reached out beyond her work hours to inform and update me of my dog’s status! She ensured that I had all my questions answered! Thanks to her my dog received the best care and I received the education necessary to continue to care for my dog at home. She is the epitome of kindness, generosity and competency. I simply wished that I could find a doctor for myself that shares her outstanding qualities. Now I understand why she was always so busy when I stopped at the clinic! Everyone requested her! Thank you Dr. Emilia for everything you’ve done and continue to do for our community! Your service is much appreciated. I am determined to find where she went, but if anyone wants to give me a hand, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you.

This is the best vet clinic I have ever had the privilege of being a client of. I have had numerous dogs as well as pet sit for countless other animals for over 35 years. I have never received the care, compassion, expertise, and genuine love of the animal as I have from this clinic. It starts from the moment you call. Autumn, was patient, calm and very thorough in booking the appointment, getting to know the history of the dog as well as the reason for the visit. Dr. Alex is beyond knowledgeable and confident in her diagnosis, handling, treatment of my dog. It is evident that the entire team loves what they do and truly cares for each animal that comes in. I am excited to be able to see the inside of the clinic once Covid restrictions are ended. However, I know they took phenomenal care of my dog and got him back to running again after a Coyote chasing incident left him very sore and close to lame. I strongly recommend if you are looking for a veterinarian clinic that offers all the normal vet care but also a plethora of holistic treatments look no farther.

When we first reached out to this clinic for a phone consultation we were disappointed. The clinic rectified the problem and set up another phone consult with a different holistic vet. Hands down, best experience ever! We have been struggling to find the cause of our French bulldogs digestive issues since he was a puppy. We do not have any holistic vets in saskatoon and or vet suggested prescription meds to treat him. We wanted a second opinion to see if other options are available. The expertise and knowledge that Dr. Wanda shared with us was truly eye opening. She explained everything thoroughly and ensured we understood. She took her time, asked lots of questions and was very receptive to answering our questions. If anyone has an issue with their pet they cannot figure out Dr. Wanda will figure it out! We look forward to working with her to improve the health of our Frenchie!

This was our first time here. I’ve got two French Bulldogs and one is having some allergy issues. As we’ve done the “traditional” vet, I figured I’d like to see what a “balanced” vet clinic was like. I felt welcomed, valued and very comfortable. It didn’t smell like a vets office either and we were taken into a room straight away. The room was bright and colorful and quite big, I didn’t feel squeezed in. Dr. Susie was quick, kind and personable with knowledge to share. I’m looking very forward to working with her in the near future, for both dogs. Everyone(sorry I didn’t catch everyone’s name) that I encountered there were smiling, seemed quite happy, calm and caring. Nice to know that the staff there are a team that works together. The most caring, knowledgeable and invested staff. I researched all vets in Western Canada to find someone like Dr Tony. My little dog was viciously attacked almost killed by a dog in BC. We hobbled back to Calgary broken emotionally and physically and to this clinic. The staff greeted us and read everything I sent and were there, really there to help heal Yoda and myself. All I can say is this is a very special place with skilled professionals who are a team. They truly care about the animals and their owners. There is true compassion and experience here. They worked with me on costs and called and checked when Yoda was in a tough place. I am so grateful for them. They are a gift to animals and understand that people and other species are a lot alike. Please bring your treasured pet here.

Dr. Amelia Balc; would not recommend. Was overly busy and gave me someone else's blood test results, told me my dying dog had shown improvement... when he hadn't, only to say "oops no thats not you" giving me false hope. She also made jokes about my dying dog "looking dead"... and then after multiple days of intensive treatment she ended up rushing on Friday before the weekend and left me feeling alone over the weekend (with my dog dying of kidney failure) with no support or guidance. He died over night on the weekend when she was unavailable. After I asked her many times if he was dying and she repeatedly said no and allowed me to spend a large amount of money without being forth coming about his prognosis. I would not deal with her again. I felt she was dishonest.

The team at Healing Traditions is phenomenal! We started going to this vet to be slightly more holistic in 2020. Since then we have been supported through simple and complex issues. Spring of 2021 our puppy started limping and they have been on the ever long journey of elbow dysplasia. Dr Vockeroth has helped both of our dogs in many ways, including an anxious dog. Dr Gerrow has followed our pup through prehab, surgery and now onto rehab helping with recommendations and expertise. BJ and the rehab team have supported our dog to ensure she can be the strongest dog possible while going through joint disease progression, surgery and ongoing rehab. We truly appreciate the entire team here at Healing Traditions and trust their knowledge and expertise.

An amazing clinic, amazing people. Dr. Wanda Vockeroth is an incredible doctor and person. I have had the privilege of accessing her care for many many years, it would take writing a book to tell of how many times her abilities have saved or enhanced my pets lives, especially when conventional medicine has no answers or suggestions. Dr. Wanda works wth conventional medicine as well. One of the most intelligent people I know and she’s constantly learning, enhancing her knowledge in many ways. Her staff are wonderful people as well.

Amazing vet clinic and not absurdly priced. Vets and all staff have remembered me and all my dogs by name right from first meetings, they have been beyond helpful in everyway and were beyond amazing when my senior dog passed. They made it best they could for it being one of the worst experiences and I will forever b great full for that. Can't say enough good things about this clinic especially after having bad experiences at so many others around the city. 100% recommended them!!! And I do when asked by anyone I know.

I have been a customer of Dr Wanda Vockeroth for over 20 years.. She literally saved the life of my first rescue when conventional medicine said to say my goodbye at only 1.5 years old.. Through the years every single thing she has told me has worked..I have even tested local conventional vets against her holistic approach and I got immediate results with the herbs, tincture versus steroids, anti inflam etc.. her new facility is clean and well thought out.. The osteopath in house Dr Laura Taylor is also great..

This is a truly incredible clinic with amazing staff. They took the time to get to know us and Nikki, and were so supportive and encouraging throughout the journey towards rehabilitation. Dr Wanda worked wonders with acupuncture, and BJ and the rehab team worked closely with us to make goals and ensure Nikki was comfortable and happy through all the laser and physio. She loved coming to see the people here, and we wouldn’t have been able to do it without their support and encouragement.

Cleo (my 14 year old cat) and I have been visiting Dr. Vockeroth for many many years. Dr. Vockeroth has always been very kind and compassionate when dealing with my cat, and me. I trust her implicitly. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. When my Cleo needed surgery and ended up at an emergency clinic, Dr. Vockeroth took my panicked calls and then her staff followed up to see how Cleo was doing. I highly recommend this clinic.

This is the best place for my two dogs. Recently had to have dental care done to find the need for an extraction. I received a fair quote and all the techs were exceptional in walking me through the day. I know my dog got the best care. Dr. V is an amazing person, so informative with holistic remedies - she and Allison are rock stars in how they have looked after us over the last five yrs. So grateful to both of them ❤️

I have been coming to Dr Vockeroth since 2000 . She has literally saved the life of my past dogs when conventional medicine didn't work. I am on dog #4 & 5 with her and not only trust her and her staff, but have always enjoyed great handling, clean environment and up to date education.. I'm a huge fan. Had a terrific experience at this clinic yesterday. After being told by two other vets, one holistic and one conventional, that there was nothing to be done, my boy is getting some help. So grateful. It felt like Dr Wanda treated my dog as one of her own. We went home with three new supplements, he had an aquapuncture treatment, and we were given a list of possible therapies.

We are very happy with Dr. Wanda and the the rest of the team here. One of our Yorkies had chronic diarrhea and nothing was helping aside from a regular medicine. Dr. Wanda recommended a fecal transplant which sounded pretty crazy to me but we figured it was worth a try. After years of medicine while we were at our previous vet finally he has a good digestive system!

Dr. Emilia Balc is honestly one of the best vets I have had the pleasure of meeting. She is incredibly knowledgeable and understanding. I fully trust her when it comes to my senior cat and maintaining his health, as with age serious issues do arise. I never feel rushed when I am with her and all of my questions are fully answered putting me at complete ease.

The five stars are for Dr. Emila Balc. She was one of the best doctors in this clinic. I am so sorry that she left a month ago because she took a very good care of my dog and my cat. She really made wonders with my old pets. Thank you dr. Emilia! Don´t hesitate to follow her if you need a good carrying doctor for your pets. For the clinic only 1 star.

Absolutely amazing, they promote raw feeding but don't shame you for choosing something else, they give you helpful information and are super positive, felt welcome and safe, they won't try to sell you food and they care about your fur family, highly recommend it. The appointment is 99$ + vaccination or treatment needed, open and no hidden fees.

Dr. Wanda and staff are incredible. Dr. Wanda really listens. Wants to know all of your concerns. She doesn't recommend unnecessary testing, medications. Our doggo loves her. I can't recommend this place enough. If you're like me who views their pets as members of the family, you should absolutely go here. I promise you won't be disappointed.

This is the absolute best veterinary clinic in town. I will never switch back to a 'traditional' vet who I have experienced are just a total money grab and only want to pump your pets full of booster shots and expensive treatment. Healing Traditions have healed our pets at a fraction of the cost and all through a natural, holistic approach.

My shih tzu wasn't eating due to heart meds. I'd heard this holistic vet was great and cbd oil helps prompt appetites. They squeezed in an appointment for us, sadly my little guy was too far long and I had to send him 'Home' prior to our appointment.

Best vet clinic I've ever been to! The veterinarian is very kind and knowledgeable. I don't feel like I'm being suggested extra things. The rest of the staff are all extremely nice and friendly too. They remember me when I call and my boy's name.
