This is a great store I would highly recommend! -- -- -- PRODUCTS -- -- -- This store has great selection of high quality products. Most of the other big chain stores have a terrible selection of lower quality foods and other products. It's a rather small store, but they filled it with some of the best! -- -- -- SERVICE -- -- -- The service was great here! They asked if we needed help finding things, and when we did need help, they had a great knowledge of the products in the store and where they were located. Someone even came around and asked if we wanted them to take the large bag of dog food up to the front so we didn't have to carry it. The person at the checkout counter was also very friendly and pleasant. I especially appreciated that she asked me about my preferences for bagging instead of just giving us 10 bags with 1 thing in them like so many other stores do.

This review is for the do it yourself dog wash stall. I don't know about the rest of you, but washing my dog at home can be a 5 star disaster. Hair everywhere, soggy towels, and water being tracked around the house. But for the low low price of $15 (something like that) I get to be in a fully enclosed stall at Healthy Pet with all the accoutrements, shampoo, conditioner, oatmeal cookie scented perfume etc. Their vaccum powered dryer hose really efficiently dries my dog when she's done, and makes it so I don't have a wet dog riding around in my car. As a bonus at checkout my dog usually gets a donut shaped homemade dog treat that is as delicious for the owner as I'm sure it is for the dog. For $20 all in that's a great way to start your day with your dog feeling fresh and clean. Very nice and helpful employees as well

This place is like Whole Foods for pets, with GREAT customer service. Their stock includes healthy, high-quality pet food products that will keep your furry friend in tip top shape. They have products mostly for dogs/cats (as is the case with 90% of pet stores), but they offer a good variety of options for exotic pet owners as well. The staff here is a lot better than any Petco or Petsmart in Austin. The employee who helped me was knowledgeable about products for rabbits and seemed genuinely interested in helping me. If you are in the south area of Austin, I would highly recommend checking out this pet store. It's great to support a local business (the owner is really passionate), and this store has the laid-back "Austin" vibe that is conducive to becoming involved in the community, too!

After looking at a number of self-service dog washes in the area, I picked Healthy Pet, and am so glad I did! I was very immediately impressed with how immaculate the whole store and the bathing area were. Each bathing station is it's own room with everything you need to make your pup nice and clean including multiple shampoos and conditioners to choose from, breath freshener, ear cleaner, and brushes. They also provide towels, aprons and treats. The staff was also so kind and helpful. They are are by far the best deal in town for self-serve washes since they don't have a time limit. I really appreciated not having to be concerned about being charged more for the amount of time I took since I was bathing a 100 lb dog. Will be returning for all of my dog washing needs!

As a pet owner I can not express the importance of been around well-educated/passionate animal professionals. I'm obsessed with this place. Trevor, Chris and their team are just flat out amazing. If you think you are super picky about what you give your four legged daughters/sons - Healthy Pet is pickier about what they carry. I have the utmost confidence about whatever I buy from there. My dog LOVES LOVES going in there and they are so welcoming and VERY patient with her (golden retriever puppy). They have the coolest selection of toys and everything that you need for your furry buddy. They treat you like family the minute you come in there and are willing to talk to you for minutes on end about whatever you need. Check this place out and I dare you not to fall in love this place.

My first impression was what a joke this is nothing but place for paranoid rich people to buy pet food. I grew up with ranch labs and never had to do anything but feed them and flea drops. With my recent adoption of my baby blue pit she has had some health problems. Allergies the vet couldnt even identify. With a few trips to healthy pet we were able to stop her itching and medicate her properly. The staff is more than helpful. These people know pets. The prices were reasonable, I was shocked. I have a happy young dog now and it didn't cost me anything other than a couple trips to this store.

We came in to healthypet looking for a better food for our pup. We were going to the big chain per store for a while but nothing seemed to work. When we came in. The employee was so nice and helpful. She was so knowledgeable of all the products in the store. She heard what we were looking for and gave the best recommendation for what we needed for our girl. Sure enough. Our girl loved the food that was recommended. Honestly the price was barely more than what we were paying before, but our dog is getting such a better quality of food now. I'm a customer for life now!

I went to a new dog park one day, & everyone there was talking about how they bring their pet to Healthy pet. I had to see for my self. I was not disappointed. The Staff is Very Very friendly & knowledgeable. The Self-serve dog wash area always is very clean and wiped down. They have a complementary FURminator for your use, as where some other places in the area charge extra to use this brush. They also give you complementary ear wash, dog perfume, 2 towels & unlimited treats. About 16$ to wash a large German Shepherd.

Twice we have tried to give our pet a bath in the dog wash. Twice we have gotten here just after 7 and they say it’s already closed and that they closed the washes 1 hour before store close. The website states dog wash closes 30 minutes prior to store close (8pm). Either adhere to the policy or update the policy. I used to be a loyal healthypet shopper. UPDATE - Trevor (the owner) has reached out and helped to correct the situation. Raised rating for his quick response and customer service.

This place is by far the best pet store I have ever been to! Seriously, I cannot explain the impeccable customer service this place has. Great, friendly service, competitive prices, unique products, a dog washing station and more! Everything about this place is awesome! I will not go to any other pet store if I can help it! If you have not been you should just stop in and meet Biggie and get a feel for what this place has to offer. It's a local pet store with a large selection.

This is my go to for my doggo every two weeks for her food. She loves this place . I love this place! They are very nice and have awesome customer service, very friendly people, I wanted to give a very specific shout out to Alyssa though. They were out of my usual so she special ordered for me and is going to contact me when it's in. That made me feel very good to know she cares that much and it went and took that extra step step for me. So thank you for being so awesome :)

The staff are all super knowledgeable; no matter how in depth I get as a crazy pet parent, they are there to help. The employees seem to stick around, so I imagine that they are treated well, and that's very important to me. The return policy is stellar and my picky cat appreciates that! The prices are comparable to the big box stores, sometimes even better. If you're looking for healthy options for your pet, the variety at Healthy Pet is excellent.

This was my first time here. The experience was great! I've been to several self washes songs town and this place is by far the BEST! They have private bath rooms which is great because my dog is a howler during bath time. They supply everything you need, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, towels, well... everything! It's really really really clean. The whole dang store! The staff was super friendly too. We'll be returning for sure!!

I've shopped at this south Austin Healthy Pet since it opened several years ago and my opinion is it would be difficult to make it a better pet store. Maybe a rewards program would make me buy everything for my dogs here but for now, I buy all the specialty food here and my bulk Wellness brand online. Quality products, clean store, happy and helpful employees, and competitive pricing on the uncommon specialty products.

Seemed great at first but literally went back on his word. The owners seem sketchy and don't care about their customers very well. We stopped buying stuff online under the impression we would pay around the same price in the store, but after a few times the owner made excuses as to why he shouldn't. It's this kind of reasons why it's harder to support local businesses when there is zero integrity involved.

I love the dog wash and the staff is very knowledgeable about all the new products available to keep your pooch in the best possible shape. I found my discussion with the staff very informative on ideas for my dogs nutrition. They also have resources for cats and other animals. They are open now and are respecting covid-19 protocol.

I seriously love this place. They have an amazing selection of treats, traditional, refrigerated, and dehydrated pet food, toys, bowls,collars and leashes, etc. Their staff is always helpful and full of smiles. The French bulldog who visits the stores is always happy for some lovin' and treats. They will even special order something for you and hold it until you are able to pick it up.

I really like the products offered here but I came into the store and purchased a few items not realizing it was closing time. The guy at the counter was nice but the girl locking and unlocking the door was so rude that I thought we were in there well past hours. Only to find out it was 6:02. We even apologized I have worked retail and felt bad about keeping the staff but 2 minutes.

Nice store, friendly people. It should be noted that there is only one dog wash bay. If you drive 30 minutes (from Dripping) to wash your dog and find out there are two ahead of you, it's a bit disappointing. They suggest the downtown location that has two, but that's another 30 minute drive. Dog wash is walk in, first come first served... makes sense. Just need more than one.

I LOVE the self service baths here. I did have a weird interaction with a cashier cashing me out improperly and not giving me a receipt until I asked for it. They charged me $20 over. The receipt completely did not match what I had purchased. They charged me for 6 baths instead of 2 baths and a couple of bones. I went back and they fixed it but left a bad taste in my mouth.

First time visiting and using their self-serve wash today! Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, and gave my dog so much attention and treats! The self-serve wash is definitely the best that we have been to in Austin and has an amazing value for the price! I have actually worked as a dog groomer for 3 years and am extremely impressed with the dog wash! We will be back!

This place is absolutely great! From the dog bath to the products, you can't beat it. The staff is always friendly to their customer's and they make sure to acknowledge the customer when walking through the door. This is HUGE in the customer service industry. They are also super understanding of your dog's needs and hear you out when purchasing dog gear or food.

This place has lots of unique products for pets. Made shopping for neighbor's pets convenient at Christmas. What I found incredible was that many products, although well organized within the store, had no price associated with them. When I iniquired, told by one staff member, "just bring item to check-out station for priceing". Seriously, who shops that way?

Excellent choice of healthy products for our animals. The staff are very knowledgeable and always friendly. Customer service is always great. I've been a customer for 8 years. One of dogs has a problem with yeast. Thanks to Healthy Pet we are able to control the yeast through her diet. Our dogs are healthy and happy thanks to Trevor and his staff.

This store has a lot to offer in the organic food department. Their toy selection is great and they have lots of things that I wouldn't know existed but immediately want to buy (special pb for dogs??) The staff is very nice and helpful. Prices are competitive. They have a doggy washing area (furminator included). I will be back again and again!

Staff is always friendly and they're quick to see when I'm ready to check out. Whenever I've had a question about an item, they've had an answer. I also appreciate that they help carry out to the car. I highly recommend! Tomlinson's is closer to me, but I always choose to drive over to Healthy Pet because of the staff and products available.

Girl told me that I can’t trim my dogs nails with my Dremel, and I had done it twice at the store before. Awful strive, was obnoxious and I do not recommend shopping or supporting this store at all. Too bad because jeff who first helped me when I first came here was amazing. For self wash and items there are far better options.

I love this place. My dog is allergic to everything and for a while I was making his food because the brands the vet recommended was just hard to get ahold of. The workers at Healthy Pet are friendly and so helpful and really listened to what I needed and my grumpy baby loves their healthy treats and dog washing station.

It's a nice small store with a lot of options, but they're a little expensive. I have picked up some healthy treats for my puppy, and she loves them! So you can pick up small stuff here and there if you are on a budget. If you can afford to buy all your dog supplies here, great! There's plenty for them.

The staff are always friendly and helpful. The dog wash is clean and easy to use, and easily accessible. They have excellent products in stock. We love coming for treats and necessities. They keep good tabs on all the patrons (2 and 4 footed alike). It helps they always happy to love on our dog too ❤

This specialty pet food and supply store is amazing. They carry many high end brands of food and treats for your pet. They have a great selection of nontoxic toys for your dog too! They also have dog bowls and stands plus many other items as well. The employees are extremely nice and helpful too!

Had my dog tested for food allergies. He needed a very specific diet. Took his results to Healthy Pet and the owner was able to point my in the right direction. Got my bud on a limited ingredient food and now he doesn't spend his days uncomfortable and itchy. He's happier so we are all happier.

The employees were nice, fancy store, DIY pet wash is affordable and has private rooms, which is great in these COVID-19 times, cause we could take our masks off while we bathed the doggo. I was relieved because I didn't want to inadvertently waterboard myself while getting the pup clean.

Locally owned business that carries quality pet supplies. Staff are always courteous and helpful, and if they don't have a particular item as a regular stock item, they'll make an effort to get it for you. You'll only find quality pet food here, whether it's kibble, dehydrated, raw, etc.

I came here after Lofty Dog closed down. Really clean store! The staff has been really friendly. I have to transition my dogs to a different brand of food which they don't carry, but I will continue to shop here for the great selection of treats and dental care products that they carry.

This is a fantastic shop. They carry a wide selection of higher quality dog food, not to mention the gear, toys, snacks. You can even bathe your dog there. What I like most, though, is the friendly and knowledgeable dog-loving staff and how the business supports local rescues.

Roxy, my long haired dachshund loves this place! Conveniently located next to Whole Foods. We used the Self Care Bathing and Grooming center and it was AWESOME!!! The people are really cool that work there too. I think the owners are from Michigan which is a plus to me.

“Steve’s Real Food” Love this store they carry the best raw food that won’t hurt my pups stomach. They carry so many diff collars and leashes toys snacks treats you name it they have it. And if you special order something they get it quick for your dog.

Get selection of cat foods, okay selection of toys and other cat accessories. I don't have dogs so I didn't look through those isles. Everyone was very helpful but not pushy, and friendly. The place is clean, and organized. A great family run business!
