I have been working with hertz for over 7 year and have nothing but good things to say about the company till yesterday when i was brutally verbally attacked by the store manager "Jodi Boisvert" who should never be holding a position like that because her lucky of professionalism. little bit of insight on the issue I had with her. I had a flat tires and was advised by her employee that I should take the car to the Canadian Tire to have the tires Path or exchange. Unfortunatelly, I had to buy new tires at the price $300, said that, when |I went to return the car with the new tires, Jodi, told me that I had to pay another two tires, because I got the wrong one. Point is that I never was told that there was a specific tire that I need to buy. Keeping in mind that I am realaying on the mecahnic at Canadian Tire because I assumed he know his job. Because I denied agree with her that I did not receive the intrusction regarding the kind of tires I should had bought he started scream at me, and denayed to rent me a car. She said I was the worse customer she work with and that Rentz have no interest in keeping me as a client. IMPORTANT to kow that ' as a worse customer, I have been renting their car since March 2021 spending over 1.500,...a month. I will never ever deal with this company.....I was told before that this girl was very rude.....but I could never imagine I could be of of her victims. While, fighting with her, so told me i was Full of Bushit*** because i removed my mask to get fresh air, cause the fight was very bad, and I was embarrassed like hell. I could go on and on about this issue, but the fact is that this girl JOD BOISVERT should never EVER treat a customer the way she treated me. I did call the police because i| really want to let them know that hhe was horrible mean to me. But I got a very kind POLICE officer that send a dispatch to get me and drive me home, once that manager refused to rent me a car.....put a flag on my file so I could nt rent from nowhere else. Betty, the manager who i have been working for the past over 10 years with hertz also was speechelles by the way I was treated at the store. DONT do you business there.........

The costumer service representative was extremely rude. I came in on December 05th 2019 at 5:00. He denied my partner his car because he only had a G2. It is okay if this was a policy change, however, the costumer service rep was extremely rude when he stated he could not rent the car, called my partner a liar, could not adequately explain the policy on why, and had no answer when my partner pointed out he rented from that location in August. His overall tone was aggressive and he was extremely condescending. My partner personally and through his company has rented through this exact location at least 6 times in 2019 with my partner as the primary driver. The company we work for rents from them at least 5 or 6 times a year since 2016. Needless to say we will be taking our business elsewhere and ensuring the company does as well. I would recommend using any other location. It is unfortunate that the choice to hire this one individual is losing them yearly business. We also spoke to a manager who didn't care at all the following Wednesday. I also tried to leave a message on messenger below and the link provided didn't even work. We went to Enterprise on bank street, Comparable prices, excellent customer service, open until 8:00 PM. Rented to us no problem and even offered us a ride back when we returned the car. Never using Hertz again

Terrible experience!! Reserved a suburban 2 -3 weeks before the needed date , also called On Tuesday to make sure that everything was good for my trip (Saturday June 24) and everything was confirmed and wonderful. Today I received a phone call saying that the suburban wasn't guaranteed and they don't have anymore and all this and all that. I explained to the manager that it's not my fault I needed this at this time I usually deal with the st.Laurent location and they are great but this time because they didn't have suburban available we had to deal with the Merivale location. And let me tell you I will never recommend or deal with them ever again ! The manager was extremely rude and was tryna make a million excuses why she didn't have the suburban for me instead of being honesty and trying to fix the mistake that was their fault. She was telling me that I have to be 30 to rent one why was this now brought to my attention a day before my pick up date , I'm extremely disappointed with the service and will never return ! ... wow after reading all the reviews I'm even more shocked why management hasn't been changed or employees have been re trained ! Do better !

This place is a scam. Don't rent a car there. I rented a small Sudan and when I picked it up it was an unexpected SUV. I returned it on Sunday in good condition. Monday the staff called me to come in to file an accident report. When I arrived the car was not there, they showed me pictures of damages in a computer without a license plate. When I asked for the car, they told me it had been taken to their garage to get it fixed. They told me it was my fault and asked me to file a report because the car model matched the car I drove. They even had all of the crucial information spread out on the countertop so I could complete it as quickly as possible. Why did they move the car before I got a chance to see the damage, if there were damages why the license plate was not shown, and why would you take a car to get it fixed when I have my own insurance? My insurance would have fixed it. A total scam and a total waste of my time. An act of desperation trying to steal people's hard-earned money. Disgusting! I wish I could give zero stars, but apparently, there is no option to put minus minus zero stars.

Please do not rent from this place. Very shady practices and they try to gouge money from customers through various tactics. Staff is not professional at all and could be quite rude barring 1 or 2. But the bulk of them shouldn’t be in the service industry at all. Right from pickup to drop-off it has been a harrowing experience. They will pin random marks on the car on you and blame you for damage that you did not cause. Would never ever rent at this location and will ask family and friends to stay far away as well. Do yourself a favour and get a peace of mind rental from any other rental/location but here. They also have a completely random $400 hold on your credit card that is mandatory and they kept arguing this is standard policy. Not one rental car company/location that I deal with has such ridiculous policies. They have utterly lame explanations for why this is the case and keep blaming it on management. If management is putting this policy, they are bound to lose even more business.

Terrible business model and service. I wish I could give zero star ! These people are looking for taking your money rather than giving you a good service and having a healthy business model ! I booked a car for 3 weeks and called a day before to confirm my reservation and they said they would have a car for me. On the pick up day, they called my 2 hours before my pick up time and said the do not have a car because someone else decided to extend their rental and pay more money to them ! Are you kidding me? This is just not acceptable. They simply called and said we do not have a car for you even though I had a confirmed reservation with them just because someone else is paying more money for the rental and now I have to cancel all my plans ! This is absolutely not professional and not a healthy business model ! Stay away from them

I have rented cars from this Hertz location many times. Never had any problems with the car. Most of them looks brand new or very clean. The staff is good. The will give the car with tank full of gas and we have to return with tank full of gas. Otherwise they will charge you around 2.5 times gas charge to make it full. I forgot to do that many times while returning the car, but the staff suggest me to fill the gas up by showing the nearest gas station, so that I could save that unnecessary ×2.5 time gas charge. That is really a nice thing from the staff. And this is the same reason I hate enterprise. They give empty tank and they expect to return it as an empty tank! How do I do that?, Hertz all the time.

On jan 5th I left one rental situation from enterprise for how poorly I was being treated so I joined Hertz for the remaining tenure of my insurance covered rental from a ditch adventure from back in Dec 2021. Since taking my business here to Hertz Merrivale atc1916 merrivale rd this team of Jodi and everyone who works here treated me like Gold and welcomed me aith open arms they kindly kept me at the same rate as my auto insurance claim hit snags etc.i landed a couple nice rentals here and I've been renting for ovee months as my claim gets sorted out. This team found great solutions throughout the process. More to follow in time.

I called looking for a rental with snow tires. They are the only place in Ottawa I could find that had cars with snow tires Lyndsay was fantastic. She was so helpful and went above and beyond. She even followed up with our insurance to get the authorization to put the rental through our insurance plan. She made the rental so easy . Lyndsay is professional, friendly and I can't say enough nice things about her. The rental car was also clean and in immaculate condition. Very impressed I would give her a 10 star rating!! I would highly recommend this location.

With no prior notification, I was told I would have to leave a $400 deposit for my rental car. I rent vehicles quite often for business, and have used Hertz many times, and this never was the case. I explained the situation, yet their employee was quite rude and stubborn and insisted “every car rental agency in the city requires this.” Which is quite simply untrue. If that’s the policy at that specific location then fine, but explain it as such and let your clients know before hand.

Jodi vary rude disrespectful and if you return a vehicle when they are not open they will throw extra charges on you claiming anything. They wont notify you or call you about the extra charges. They dont do any assessments on the car when you pick up or return there vehicles they are not clean and they expect you to check the car and do your own assessments. Service is very poor and they dont give you the right rental agreement number.

Our rental was parked on the side of the road during a move. Another driver hit our truck. The managers and employees argued with me endlessly and forced me to pay a $500 deductible even though I was not at fault. Tracy Edwards, one of the managers, was totally unprofessional and very condescending. Will never use their services again in the future and would absolutely not recommend this location.

Rented a truck weeks in advance and was told it had a lift and was only 16 foot truck they had only to pick up the truck with no lift and told there was no guarantee you would get it out of their 3 trucks. Did speak with the manager (supervisor) weeks in advance and guaranteed the lift. Note to self get it in writing.

If you are a business and are booking ahead with reservations please go elsewhere as this place is quite disorganized!!! They are turning over on new staff and has completely turned our lives upside down. We have done many business with hertz and will never return back to this place again!!

Ordered a truck to help move my son out of his house in Ottawa, just to drive 3 hours from Peterborough for them to tell me that they do not have anything for me. I received no call to give me a heads up and they completely left me stranded. Not much care for customers as well.

Jody and victoria are awesome. Very friendly, efficient, polite. Pleasant and comfortable atmosphere to walk into. Have been renting for years from this location and this location is just awesome. Jody is an amazing manager. Keep it up guys!!!

I'm giving a 5-star review because I liked Ali. He was fabulous, very gracious and kind. I have a few beefs with Hertz Canada. Their online reservation system and policies need work, oversights which cost us about an hour to sort out. But

When we were in a bind, Jasmin went above and beyond to ensure our company had a vehicle to do our daily deliveries. Ashley Homestore cant thank Jasmin enough for being there when we needed her. Kudos Jasmin, you rock!!!

Rent a cargo van to move furniture Jody and Mike were professional and courteous They even have moving supplies : dolly for rent and boxes to buy. Will use them again when need.thank you

Extremely worst service. Booked 4days in advance for 20ft truck and on picking up they were offering 16ft . On paper they booked me for that without telling me. Ruined my moving days .
