I've taken my '96 Volvo 850 Turbo to HVAS three times now. The first time was due to good online reviews and a nagging check engine light. They told me the O2 sensor was bad and charged around $600 to fix it. I needed to get it done, and they told me the fix would be under a 4-year/48,000 mile warranty. After the servicing, Brent told me that after the repair he noticed my brake-light indicator was coming on, and I probably had an electrical problem that was preventing the auxiliary brake light from illuminating. "Of course," he said, "that's minor and doesn't NEED any fixing." Needless to say, aside from the steep price on the sensor, I was impressed that he wasn't trying to manipulate me into getting more minor fixes. After this, they sent me a thank-you note in the mail! The second fix was for a broken exhaust pipe and that pesky check engine light again. They fixed the pipe and replaced the O2 sensor once again, this time at no additional cost, for it was still under their warranty. Total cost: around $100. About a year later, here I am, with my car back in the shop for another check engine light problem. Once again, Brent tells me the check engine light is covered in oil and no longer working. But he replaced it once more for a grand total of $0. He said they can't cover it on their warranty anymore, and recommended I get the car to a Volvo specialist to check out my turbo system, which is probably malfunctioning (thus leaking oil into the exhaust and saturating the O2 sensor again and again). But that's understandable, because I've paid essentially $200 for what would normally be a $600 fix. Bottom line: I've paid about $750 to HVAS and gotten three O2 sensor fixes, as well as a broken exhaust pipe repair. Each time they were very polite (albeit with a twinge of benevolent southern grouchiness) and extremely timely (i.e. I brought it in the morning and picked it up that afternoon). Brent has always been more than willing to take the time to explain the problems to me, and always follows up personally after I pick up my car. Sure, the prices can be a bit high, but you're supporting a local business with familiar, friendly faces, and an unbelievable warranty.
The customer service at this garage lately is an absolute joke. I've been a customer here for years. I took my fiance's vehicle in to get a tire patched for a nail that was in it. I was told repeatedly that there wasn't a nail in the tire and that it must just be the weather changing. I was then spoken to like a 5 year old while Jen explained to me that the seasons changing can affect the pressure in the tires. 10 minutes later, I receive a text saying that they found the other half of a nail inside. Fast forward to later in the day, my fiance goes to pick up her Jeep. The mechanic that's leaving doesn't give her any useful information with regard to taking her own car home. Confused she asked if she just took the car, because it seemed like everything was paid for with how he had responded. He mocked her and then told her to go inside and pay for it. When she went inside, Jen managed to mock her too when she was confused about which key was being handed to her. Somehow they managed to charge us 90 dollars for a plug on a tire and an inspection on all four tires that they initially refused to do. When I had dropped off the vehicle this morning, I'd asked if they could look at all tires to make sure there wasn't any sort of nail in any of the others and it was treated as though I had asked them to rebuild the entire engine. Everyone has bad days but this service was absolutely pathetic. What a horrible way to run a service driven business. I would rate this garage lower but I literally cannot. Do not bring your vehicle here. Attached is a picture of the nail that "obviously" wasn't in the tire.
I went to Hillsboro Village Auto Service July 22, 2019 with an urgent problem. I had to drive from Nashville to my home in Toronto (about 12 hours) with my family. My car started to make a loud, nasty noise from the driver's side front wheel. I thought it was a wheel bearing that had gone. I went to HVAS first thing Monday morning, after already being delayed by a day, Jennifer took care of me right away, I told her of my urgency and she made my car her priority. She told me that the diagnostic would be around $68, plus repairs - I was expecting a bill of several hundred dollars. With in an hour I had my answer, it was a bad sound but a fairly minor issue. The fix was under $50! Not only that, but Jennifer said that her guys took a good look at the car and could not find any safety issues, I was safe to drive home. She also told me to have our guys up in Canada take a good look for any issues that could have caused my initial problem. I told her she could have charged me 4X what she did and I would have been thrilled - "we would NEVER do that" was the reply. Before I left Jennifer asked me to let her know we got home safe - that was important to them. Well, we did! Overall it was a great experience, from what I can see this is an auto repair shop that cares, is honest and treats people right, even those from out of town who will only be a one time customer. I wish more auto shops were like Hillsboro! Thanks again Jen!
When checking reviews I made the mistake of only looking at the reviews posted on THEIR site. Huge mistake. Look at the unedited , unbiased reviews on google and yelp. There’s the TRUE story. This place has all the hallmarks of a quality establishment AT FIRST, but they have a dishonest policy of telling you very professionally, to bring in your vehicle and let them “take a look” at it. Then quoting a price that in many of the cases reviewed was extremely over priced ( as was mine). Then when you decide not to let them charge you 3 times ( in my case ) what another repair shop charged ,they said I owed them 100.00 for looking at it. This fee was never mentioned prior to my desire to look elsewhere for the repair. The owners argument when I questioned this was I should have sense enough to know they would charge me to “take a look” at my car. Not only was that statement rude, it’s incorrect. Unless you tell someone up front what they will be charged for a service, you should not preform the service. There are people who don’t have an extra 100.00. Any time you expect to be paid a certain amount of money, both parties should be aware of the service and the fee and the person expected to pay should agree BEFORE the service is provided. Now, I look at them differently. If your shady about the little things, your likely to be shady about the big ones as well. Not as impressed today as 2 days ago.
As a mid 20s female, I have found that some places will give you different estimates for the same services hoping that you don't know any better- this has happened to me on more than one occasion. Not the case AT ALL here. The manager Brent and his auto mechanics performed a standard oil change and tire rotation when they found my tire was almost blown out. He called me immediately, and then brought me back to look at the tire and explained everything simply and thoroughly. As it was the end of the day, I got the tire replaced the next day. I got a phone call around 8:30 am to say it was ready to pick up!! Amazing. What is even better about the way Brent runs his shop is his honesty and kindness. He found and fixed a simple fuse issue for me that other places quoted me at &150.00 and he did it FOR FREE. So, when my alternator went out last night, I immediately got it here before turning the car off. This morning, Brent helped me figure out what to do and even suggested calling the business that replaced my alternator 9 months ago to see if they would warranty it- "I don't want to take your money until we know if you can get it done for free." - direct quote from Brent! Even if I don't get my alternator fixed with Hillsboro this time, I will definitely be coming back for any and all auto services. The quality of work and business attitude is the best I've ever experienced.
When your daughter is 8 hours away at college in a large city such like Nashville, you do wonder how they will be treated by local professional services, especially in an industry at least stereotypically known to take advantage of youth ignorance when it comes to car repairs. Our daughter latched on to Hillsboro Village due to its close proximity to Belmont university, where she attends. Starting three years ago as a freshman she utilized them for simple service/oil changes, and it was convenient because she could leave the car and walk back to Belmont quite easily and safely. Other times if she was having a small issue she would drop by without any appointment and the folks there would be very courteous in their assistance with whatever small issue she was having. Recently we needed some larger assistance, a complex repair on a German vehicle which they actually bought tools specifically for them to be able to assist us! They replaced a water pump, timing belt, and other things that had left my daughter sitting and needing towed. They speculated a week and a half, but had the repairs completed in just a week, and were always in good communication with her. I HIGHLY recommend this company!! If your son or daughter is going off to school in Nashville, do NOT worry about where to get their auto service done! Well done Hillsboro!! MW
My 21-year-old daughter's car broke down on her way to work. Of course, being young she was panicking because she didn't know what was going on and she was on I-65! She has AAA and put in a request to have her car towed to the nearest auto repair facility which happened to be Hillsboro Village Auto Service. She dealt with Brent and he assured her that he would keep her posted about what exactly was wrong with her vehicle and what he would have to do. Although what we hoped would be a minor fix ended up being a major one, Brent and his crew were able to get her vehicle fixed for her that day. This was huge especially because she needs her car to travel back & forth to work. I spoke with both Brent & Jennifer and they were both understanding and sympathetic not only my daughter's situation but also her anxiousness. My daughter said that Brent explained everything he had to do to get the car fixed & what she needed to do to keep it maintained. She said that she will be taking her car there for any maintenance and/or repairs that she needs to have done in the future. As a parent who is 500+ miles away, I truly appreciate how smooth they made the process. Although the labor was a bit pricy, it was worth it in the end because we feel that her car was repaired with considerable. Thank you again everyone at Hillsboro Village.
It is such a relief to have a reliable, trustworthy mechanic in the neighborhood! Brent the manager always takes time to explain to me what he recommends doing and why. Hillsboro Village Auto keeps my Honda Fit humming along safely and reliably! Just wanted to add a few words, based on my most recent experience: Hillsboro Village Auto Service has proven to me over and over that they always look out for my best interest. The work they do is careful and excellent, and they will not do work they don't feel is necessary. Brent always gives me a thorough explanation of what it will take for them to diagnose and fix a problem. If the problem is not urgent, he recommends alternatives for how to figure out what is wrong without taking the time and labor to tear the engine apart. I trust Hillsboro Auto completely. They are not the cheapest shop in town (though they are a MUCH better value than any dealership!!), but over the years they have saved me so much money because they don't do anything that is not necessary and they always get the job done right the first time, always on time. They are very friendly and responsive.
Dropped my car off after hearing some squeaking in my brakes and reading the rave reviews for Brent and the team here, and I could not be more glad that I did! The staff were more than kind, they were friendly and genuine and wanted to make sure I was taken care of from the moment I dropped the vehicle off, even setting me up with a free loaner car which was a real life saver. I got a call from Brent the next day and he walked me through everything he found in his inspection (still have about 60% life left on my brake pads, there just happens to be a ding on the rotor that isn't aligned perfectly on the disc which seems to be causing the squeak) and gave me his honest advice. He shared that because the vehicle is 100% safe to drive, that he did not want to take my money on a repair I didn't need, and stressed that my comfort was of the utmost importance to him. I will 100% be back once those brake pads actually do need replacing, because the level of customer care this team showed me was unparalleled.
I brought my car here and Brent fixed me up right. It was a bigger repair than I’d hoped for, but my car is old and I suspected there might be underlying issues. I had a lot of questions and he patiently answered them all. I looked into prices for the repair and what they charged was comparable. Given their location (nice area, close to my work and house) I think they were very fair. A few weeks later, I had a separate issue. As I was describing it to him, he asked if we could look under the hood really quickly. He made a quick simple adjustment for no fee and saved my car being in the shop overnight. Overall, the people here seem trustworthy and their work quality. The prices are fair. People who left bad reviews are likely just frustrated they had to spend a lot of money for an unexpectedly large repair- the frustration is understandable, but no reason to trash what appears to me to be a very reputable and quality shop. And they have a dog!
My car had to be towed because my clutch was not working. The tow truck driver recommended Hillsboro Village Auto Service, so I had him take it there. I read some online reviews about Hillsboro Village Auto Service and was a little concerned about it being a little on the pricy side. I wasn't excited about the thought of a new clutch repair. Turns out there was a problem with the slave cylinder and it just needed to be replaced. He was able to get the part quickly and I am happy to report that I thought the price was very fair. Everyone I spoke with was very helpful, explained what was going on with my car, and they got the job done quickly with out any hassle. I am so glad to have lucked upon Hillsboro Village Auto Service. It is a little out of the way for me to get over for regular maintenance (oil changes and such), but I would recommend them to anyone in the area.
Went to Walmart for a new battery because our car wouldn’t start without being jumped. Walmart said the battery tested good and referred us to auto zone for a alternator check. Went to auto zone and alternator tested bad and battery tested good. My dad found Hillsboro Village Auto online due to all of the great ratings and told me and my husband to check them out. We are new to Nashville and didn’t know were to go. We went expecting to pay for an alternator but after Brent tested everything & told us it was in fact NOT the alternator that needed to be replaced it was 100% a bad battery and even printed the paper invoice for us. Brent is so professional and knowledgeable and I trust his expertise. Highly recommend Hillsboro Village auto service! We will definitely be coming back for all of our auto needs.
Hillsboro Auto offers kind and exceptional customer service . No one is thrilled about paying for car repairs , but they are upfront about everything to include diagnostic fees. I have had a strange sound under the body of my car . Over 5 years I have taken it to countless shops and specialty services to include 2 Firestone locations . It wasn’t until I brought my car in to Hillsboro last week that they linked the issue to a drive shaft. NO ONE was able to figure this out before . Brent took time to explain everything to me down to how the parts repaired function ! I came home today to find a hand written note thanking me for my business . Hillsboro now has my business and I will not be returning to my previous shop.
I went to this shop expecting to get the value that a AAA rating should promise. After evaluating the repair, I was quoted a price more than double the AAA suggested price. 2 stars because they accurately diagnosed the problem. I was able to find a mechanic in the area closer to what AAA suggested. REACTION TO OWNER RESPONSE: I just want to put this in for context, so future customers know what to expect. I was quoted a price at around $1600. The two repairs I needed were a Throttle body Assembly and a wheel hub assembly replacement. High end estimates with AAA were $367 and $406 without the AAA discount. I firmly believe if you're going to be recommended by AAA, you should adhere to what their estimates are on cost.
I called ahead saying that I think my alternator is dead. I again reiterated this point when I towed my car to have it taken a look at. However, I don't believe they ever considered the alternator and just went ahead and changed the battery and charged me for the diagnosis fee and new battery. Well as soon as I got the car back and paid for, I used a voltmeter to check the battery while my car was running and was immediately skeptical if it really was 'just the battery'. I drove the car home and then about a quarter mile away from home, the check battery light appeared on my dashboard. So I just had to take the alternator out myself and took it to autozone where I confirmed that the alternator was not charging.
Broken down out of town with places to go and people to see was the situation we found ourselves in recently in Nashville. When I explained my dilemma to the folks at Hillsboro village auto I was met with an experience I can only describe as uplifting. I was looking at renting a car to make my trip home and a return trip perhaps weeks in the future to retrieve my car until the service manager told me he would make my repair top priority. All this first thing on a Monday morning! My car was ready that same afternoon. I hope I’m never in the same situation again, but if I am, or you are, I can certainly recommend these great folks to attend to your car like it’s their own.
Redeemed my faith in humanity. I am new to Nashville and my girlfriend saved me by suggesting Hillsboro Village Auto Service. After a nightmarishly horrible experience with another shop in town these people redeemed my faith in mechanics and seriously saved me a ton of money. I am an emotional guy. I love my 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT and had almost given up on keeping it. Problems were assessed, prioritized and fixed quickly and smoothly. Service was businesslike, polite and they were sensitive to my needs, discussing budget, giving accurate estimates and going the extra mile. A great place to get a car serviced! Wonderful.
Quality and honesty- bring your car here for services. We're out of town visitors to Nashville who experienced sudden, significant car trouble. Hillsboro Village Auto Service was recommended by AAA, the local tow truck driver who arrived to tow our car as well as solid reviews on Yelp and Google. Brent is an expert mechanic. He quickly diagnosed the difficulty with our car, communicated the difficulties, discussed the necessary repair, parts, cost, etc.. Our car was towed there at 9:00 a.m. and the car was ready for pick up at 5:00. Sad about our car breaking down, really happy we found Hillsboro Village Auto Service.
Just the "quote" to fix my air conditioner was almost $300 and to actually repair a nail in my tire was $45, should have been $15. I would not recommend Hillsboro Village Auto repair. The prices are exorbitant. Diagnostics on what the estimate would be cost three times as much as the quote I received three days ago. Brent said to replace the AC would cost me more than the car is worth. Book value on my car is 10k. I had gotten a quote from another repair shop for $1,500. So, I don't use the term Highway Robbery lightly. It's unfortunate that they can get away with these prices. You WILL be taken advantage of...
Hillsboro Village Auto Service took complete advantage of my girlfriend by charging her $200 just to inspect her brakes and tried to trick her into paying $900 for only front brake pads and a left wheel rotor. Luckily I was able to intersect before there was a transaction. Please be careful sending anyone here that is incompetent when it comes to auto services and prices as they will take advantage of that individual. We were able to go to a nearby mechanic and they replaced all 4 brake pads and rotors for $500. Premium parts with a year warranty and no initial inspection fee! Don't walk, run from this place.
I have been a customer of Good Neighbor Shell and Hillsboro Village Auto Service for years and years and cars and cars. Brent and John have always done a stellar job on my American cars. Recently, I made the "plunge" and bought a 1986 Roll Royce, and was a little scared they wouldn't want to, or be able to work on it. All though pretty to look at, English cars are known for being a bit "high maintenance." Not only were they able to get parts fast, they are providing the same fast, awesome, and reasonably priced service they have performed on my Lincolns, Caddies, and Jeeps. Thanks guys. Rock on!
I love this place. I came in a couple of months ago because I was having an issue with my car. They quickly diagnosed the problem--it was me! I was doing something sort of silly when I was starting the car, which was causing issues with the car's software. They sent me on my merry way, at no charge. I went back yesterday because the car was having some problems starting. This time, it turns out that it was the starter. They were able to schedule me in to make the repair on the same day, after I told them that I was in town from Atlanta and was hoping to get home to my family. Great people.
My experience with Hillsboro Village Auto Service has consistently been first rate. They are knowledgeable and honest about needed maintenance and repairs, and they do not try to push or mislead me into unnecessary repairs. They are usually very busy, and they are straightforward about time available to drop off my vehicle. They do not have me leave my car there for days until they can get to it. The staff is courteous and friendly. As an added bonus, I can leave my car, walk to my office at Vanderbilt, and walk back later in the day to pick up my vehicle.
These professionals have been servicing my car for years as well as those of family members and friends. The quality of the service is consistently high and the pricing is reasonable. When lower prices have been quoted by others, it is because they failed to include the related components so the estimates had to be modified. They clearly distinguish between what needs to be done sooner versus what can wait until a later date. They are trustworthy and knowledgeable. I have confidently referred them to others and they have also become satisfied customers.
They did not give me enough time to pay for the service and ended up towing my car which cost an additional $225. Do not use this mechanic shop if you are low-income. They were also very rude and angry at me for not paying quickly even though all they did was run diagnostics. Also they misdiagnosed the simple fuel issue( I ran out of gas) and told me that my car would not start without a new $1300 fuel injector. However when I got my car from the towing service, it started perfectly and I have not had any issues 3 months after. SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM
I was a little concerned about the lack of parking when I came to drop off my vehicle, but was quickly directed by an attendant as to where I could park. Upon entering the shop, I was immediately greeted by Jennifer, who was one busy lady! She let me know where I was in line and thanked me several times for coming in. She let me know of several establishments in the area that were open while we waited. Thankfully, the Pancake Pantry line wasn't too awful! By the time we finished breakfast, the car was done. Great experience. Will be returning.
I am 650 miles away in DFW, Texas and my daughter lives in the area of Hillsboro Village Auto Service. She had an immediate need with her vehicle and I couldn't help her. I looked them up on the web, called and talked to Brent. Explained our situation and sent her there. He was able to solve the problem and put a Dad's worried heart to rest. They have gained a local customer with my daughter. My prayer is, that if you are considering Hillsboro Village Auto, you have now found people you can trust. They sure have earned ours.
My daughter damaged her engine splash guard when she parked her car last night. On her way to work this morning she pulled over when she realized something was dragging on the pavement and called me. I searched for a mechanic close by and found Hillsboro was less than a mile away. She was able to tuck the shield up to keep it from dragging and limped into Hillsboro about 8am. They had no appointments but their mechanic took the time to re-attach the splash shield to get her on her way. Thanks for the great service!
Every time I am at Hillsboro Village Auto Service, I am reminded that there are honest mechanics out there, and Brent is by far the best person to take my car to! He always explains the problem and says what really needs fixing, and what can wait. The price may be higher than other places, but their warranty cannot be beat - 4 yrs, 40,000 miles! No where else have I found this warranty! The staff is always friendly and I can get a ride or free loaner car if needed. Glad to support an outstanding local business!
My wife and I were visiting Nashville when we started having major engine problems in our 2009 Saturn Outlook. We stopped in and talked to Brent at Hillsboro Village Auto Service and got immediate help. He knew what he was doing, did the work very quickly and with the skills of an expert! We were so grateful for Hillsboro Village Auto Center! Our mechanic back in Ohio found the work to be top notch. The cost was extremely reasonable, too. Great mechanic, great garage! Thank you!
We got into Nashville and had some issues with our 2015 dodge journey, after countless hours of trying to figure out what was wrong we found a fuse that was blown. We traveled 15 miles to come here because of the way the receptionist made us feel right from the phone all! Brent came out and took care of us in less than 10 mins ! He handled Our issue with professionalism as well as explaining it to us so that we could understand! I would give this place 10 stars if possible!
Good lord, so many good things to say about this place. 1) As a woman, I've been able to be treated with respect and like I am smart and knowledgeable about cars. 2) Fast service. Great communication. 3) Location is so easy; you can walk to a coffeeshop or restaurant to wait for your car, or take a quick Lyft somewhere. 4) Prices are incredible. Plus, you can join their membership club to receive discounts. 5) Did I mention that they are honest and treat you with respect?
I've been taking my family's cars to Brent and the team here for over 15 years. Once during that time I took a vehicle to another shop and was so disappointed with the work they did compared to the people at Hillsboro Village Auto Service. Jennifer is always warm and helpful at the front desk. All the mechanics know their stuff and Brent is consistently thoughtful in discussing strategies for our cars with me for how best to care for them. I think I'm a customer for life.
I've taken my car here many times (an unfortunately old Chrysler). Each time, I've been given a speedy appointment, detailed diagnosis, and a breakdown of my options for what they think the repairs should be. Every time, I get great work at a reasonable price, and I feel confident that they fixed my car. Without a doubt, this place makes me feel comfortable with the service, prices, and timeline they offer. My favorite mechanic in central Nashville for sure.
Had engine trouble over the weekend and had to drop my car off with a note. They are closed on Sundays so I figured I would just get a call on Monday. To my surprise I got a call on Sunday afternoon, explained the issue (overheating), and they got to it on Monday morning(replaced water pump)! Car was ready to go on Tuesday. Billing was reasonable, staff was friendly and knowledgable, eager to explain the work to me. I would definitely recommend them.
A basic oil change here cost me over $100. Also, the quote I received for new tire installation not only misdiagnosed one tire issue, but was twice as much as what I found at Firestone on Gallatin (which has great service and predictable pricing). For context, I drive a Subaru, not a Bentley. Everyone I talked to was pleasant enough. No comments there. Just super pricey and absolutely not the holy grail car service everyone seems to think it is.
I dropped my '08 Ranger off this morning to get a tire balance issue checked out and possibly fixed. The front desk staff was friendly, the price out the door was reasonable and, best of all, they found the problem and got it taken care of! I just moved to Nashville from Iowa back in August and had been looking for a good, competent local auto shop. I'll be heading right back here again if I need to in the future. Thanks guys!
This shop blew my mind and exceeded normal expectations. I could not for the life of me find a shop that was opened when I was able to get my vehicle serviced. One week and 30 frustrating calls later I miraculously found Hillsboro Auto Service. They graciously offered to pick up my car at work then gave me a loaner car to drive until my car was fixed. These are amazing people with a ton of integrity and God love them for that!
Honest mechanics. I brought my car in when brakes were squeaking and they told me to wait 3-6 months to get the brakes replaced. They could have sold me something right there but were honest and have therefore earned my loyalty. Eventually did a good job on breaks at reasonable price. They've also fixed an oil problem and were very patient in explaining to me the problem and my options. Can't recommend these people enough!
This is seriously the only shop I will go to. The entire staff is super friendly and the work is very reliable. They are totally accommodating and go out of their way to give you all the information you need to make a decision. They are 100% honest and upfront about everything and always call you before doing any work. Always hard to find a shop you can trust, and after many years in Nashville HVAS has never let me down!
Merry Christmas to Brent and Jennifer. You guys are the absolute best. Great mechanics here. Great people here. Always get your car going in a timely manner and a very reasonable mechanic, which is almost extinct! They are some of the kindest, sweetest and professionals you will ever encounter. Take your vehicle to Brent. He and Jennifer will get you fixed right up. You’ll always have a smile leaving here!!
My daughter had a wreck in Nashville this past weekend. Our insurance company had the vehicle towed here. They shouldn’t have, as this isn’t a body shop. Anyway, the people were so nice to me about the mistake and very patient with me working with my insurance company to get the vehicle moved from their lot, and I truly appreciate their kindness. Thank you for being so kind in a stressful situation!
Great secret in Hillsboro Village. Brent and Jenn were great. Jen responded within 10 minutes to my voicemail and set up an appointment that day! Brent called to get more details and was courteous and knowledgeable. They got my daughters car in quickly, made the repair in 2 hours and had us back on the road. I highly recommend their services! Great experience and I have very high expectations
Hillsboro Village Auto Service (previously known as "Good Neighbor" auto service I think) has always been a trustworthy place to take your car here in the Village. Very convenient for those of us who live in the neighborhood. I trust Brent (lead mechanic) to provide a quality assessment of my vehicle. I've never had any issues. I've been taking my car here on and off for about 7 years.
I was recently visiting Nashville from Wisconsin and had my car break down on Friday morning. The folks at Hillsboro were able to recommend a towing service to get my car to them, squeeze it in to diagnose the issue, and order parts all before noon. The parts didn't arrive until the following Tuesday, but Hillsboro stayed in contact providing me status updates until the car was fixed.
Hillsboro Village Auto Service offers excellent service from the time you walk in the door to when you pick it up, sometimes even just a few hours later. Everyone is professional and helpful and friendly, Jennifer at the desk and the mechanics who call to explain what they are doing. We couldn't ask for a better place to take our car (a Hyundai Elantra) and lucky for us, it's nearby.
I've been going to Hillsboro Village Auto Service for years. My most recent visit was a result of a check engine light the same month my emissions were due (of course). We had to replace my downstream oxygen sensor. It wasn't a cheap fix, but Brent explained the work to me, what caused the oxygen sensor to fail, and worked with me to make it doable. Great, honest service as always!
I emailed them about replacing a faulty brake light bulb. They worked me in the same day. I dropped my car, walked across street to eat lunch, and the job was completed. That fast. Can't guarantee it'll be that fast for anyone else, but it was great for me. Affordable, and he also checked my tires and pressure, even without me asking. A+ transaction. I'd send anyone there.
Brent and his team are awesome. Very professional, honest, and knowledgeable. Oil change was inexpensive, headlight repair was much less than what we anticipated, and he explained thoroughly my broken sway bar issue and fixed it promptly. He is very fair about the work that needs done and his cost is also very fair. I've used them many times and am always super pleased.
If I could give these guys and gals 10 stars I would. I was delivering a 1966 Mustang when the lower control arm sheared its bolts. I randomly called them and then limped the car over. They immediately threw it on a lift, identified the issue and had it fixed by the end of the day. I was back on the road the next day! Those guys are a bunch of classic car junkies!
I am from out of town and my tire light came on. I pulled in to see if someone was able to check my air pressure on all my tires. The gentleman working there was very friendly and checked all of my tires and inflated them to the proper pressure! It's nice to see great service like this today. If I'm ever in Nashville with a problem I will definitely stop by here!
Such a great experience! “Limped” into the garage on battery power only 30 minutes before closing. They had us diagnosed and ordered parts before leaving for the day. Knowing we were traveling thru Nashville for the night they moved things around and had us back on the road by 11am the next Morning...amazing. If we lived here they would be my mechanic!
Hillsboro Village Auto Service replaced my brakes quickly, efficiently, and at a great price! I've used them twice now and both times they've been extremely straightforward and courteous in addition to doing a fantastic job. I hope I don't have any more car trouble, but if I do, I will definitely be taking my car to Hillsboro Village Auto Service!
Brent, Jen and the team at Hillsboro Village Auto are great - I've brought multiple vehicles to them and they're always quick to assess what's going on, clear with their quotes and expectations, and they work fast. Most important - I trust them, and they have a great reputation in the community. Very happy to have a great local garage.
Hillsboro Village Auto Service did an excellent job repairing the AC in my car. I was able to leave my car and walk to work without having to take time off. They diagnosed the problem, had the part available and were able to finish the repair before the close of business that same day. They were so very kind and did an outstanding job!
Great service! I brought my car in for a second opinion on the brakes after getting an expensive list of work needed from the dealership (which I think was based on their service records and not checking the car). Hillsboro Village Auto Service did a thorough job looking over the car and saved me money on work which wasn't needed.
Great service. When a problem persisted with my car that was unrelated to the repair I had serviced there, my car was checked out for free. Offered to take my car for me to get my software updated at the dealer for no charge other than what the update cost. Great guys, very honest. Will be going back there for my next repair!
Brent and Jennifer are the best! I would trust Brent with my life. Your safety is always his #1 priority. He'll tell you when it's not worth making the repairs on your car; he treats all his customers like family. I know I can count on these guys to be honest and thorough on every car and every repair. 11/10 would recommend.
We were visiting from out of state and needed quick and reliable service. Hillsboro was wonderfully accommodating and got us back on the road in less than 24 hours with instructions for getting the recall work done at home in Texas. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! We are so grateful for your expertise and assistance!
The prices are insane. I’m not sure if it’s a Nashville thing, but I paid 4x more than I would at home to get my brake light replaced. Service is extremely quick which saves them from one star rating. EDIT: contrary to what the company response says, I was not informed of the brake light replacement cost.
Went here a few weeks ago for a tune-up and was very impressed. Dropped my car off before class and got it back within a few hours! They also gave me a new customer discount! The staff was very friendly and accessible. Altogether great experience! Will definitely be going back. Thankfully, Clayton Cohn
Quick and friendly communication. Looked at my truck right away, and were able to do the repair same day. Very friendly, professional, work seems to be quality and comes with a warranty. Their prices were pretty comparable to the local Nissan Dealership, but they are quick and convenient.
So thankful that Hillsboro Village Auto Service exists! They do excellent work and are honest. Several times they have helped me resolve pesky warning light issues for a modest or no fee. When larger repairs are needed, I always leave with the perception that they have treated me fairly.
Very nice people. Got our car in and they gave us an estimate within a few hours even though they were busy. They explained exactly what was going on and how much it would be. We don't live in Nashville so it was great being able to trust them with our vehicle and not having to worry.
The entire team at Hillsboro Village Auto Service was amazing. They saw my vehicle the same day, and also repaired same day. Everywhere else I called couldn’t see me for 1-2 weeks - and I am so grateful they were so kind and informative. Will definitely return if needed.
After searching for someone to diagnose my vehicle finally found this shop with availability. Great service. Done quickly ( dropped off on Wednesday driving by Friday) honest gentleman. Answered all my questions. Fair rates. I recommend you give home a try.
I’ve come here twice and I’m very impressed. Both times they have been very clear and detailed on what my truck needed done. They were very honest. Price was honest. I definitely recommend to anyone who needs a true and honest mechanic shop in Nashville.
We picked this place to have our Infiniti checked out (it was making a hideous noise) because the reviews were all so positive. The reviews were right! Fast, professional and very communicative throughout the repair process. Thanks for a job well done!
It’s great to be greeted by name and have someone you can rely on for honest information and service when you have issues with your car. I’ve trusted Hillsboro Village Auto Service with my car for over a decade and feel very lucky to have found them.
I had a clicking in the undercarriage of my car for a while. I took it in and the mechanic explained to me that it was hard to find parts for my particular car. He lifted it up, checked it out and explained to me the issue. He recommended I
Hillsboro Village Auto Service is the best repair in shop in town! Excellent service-- Brent, the service manager has been at this location for 30 years, and really knows his stuff. This little Mom and Pop Shop is a staple in the community.
The next day after they did a $500+ radiator replacement my car started leaking coolant. They said that it was the water pump --the owner called me to tell me repeatedly that my water pump "was busted!!" They said the next repair was going
Jen and Brent are beautiful souls! They were so understanding and helpful in repairing my SUV after I hit a large puddle of water during awful thunderstorm past Saturday night. I highly recommend Hillsboro Village Auto Service for their
I have always been offered great customer service, honesty about what work I really have done, and better prices than the dealership. You COULD go to a lower-quality establishment, pay less, and receive sub par work and service. I would
I’ve been taking my old, used cars to Hillsboro Auto off and on for the past seven years or so, and every time I visit they go above and beyond with their service. They’re excellent communicators, honest with their assessments and they
I’ve been using them for years. They always provide prompt high quality service at a reasonable price-the service is an excellent value. They are very pleasant and professional to deal with. I would not take my cars anywhere else.
I was in Nashville for business for 3 days. They got me in the same day. The owner showed me exactly the problem and part prices. I had the vehicle back the next morning. I have no complaints and am very happy with their service.
Car repair is a hassle, but it's always as easy as possible here. Jennifer is efficient, fast and knowledgeable and the techs communicate well and get it done when and for how much they say. They're really good at this. Thanks.
Expensive gas but it Mostly is a auto repair shop in an old gas station So people dont come here for just gas often I cannot advise on their auto repair skills Their repair lot is full so they are busy September 2023
I've been going here for 20+ years, and Brent, Jen, and the team are the most honest and helpful folks you'll ever find. You might not love the news they give you, but you're always know they're looking out for you.
Fantastic, fantastic service. I've been here twice, both times received prompt and friendly service at a very fair price. I would never bring my car anywhere else, Hillsboro will always get my business.
I’ve been taking my vehicles to Hillsboro for 20+ years and remain very positively impressed with their excellent service, honesty, kindness, and professionalism. Thanks for being in my neighborhood!
I just moved to Nashville and needed an oil change. I stopped by, they took my car immediately and let me know of everything they had checked. They were friendly and fast. My Jeep is happy.
Easy, fast, quality service. Finding a mechanic when moving to a new city is always nerve wracking, but I felt very well taken care of here! Will definitely continue to take my car to them.
I needed a last minute oil change and I called the night before and they fit me in the next day and had it done by noon. Everyone was kind and helpful. I will definitely be coming back.
I had been here once before, and they were honest that it was just a simple connection problem with my battery, and didn't charge much.
Brent is amazing! Always great to work with and highly skilled. It's the only place I will take my classic El Camino.
Very friendly and honest staff! Overall a great experience, and I definitely recommend bringing your car here.
Came in with a side scrape. Didn’t care about cosmetics, just functionality. I had them inspect for damage.
Mechanics at this location are absolutely wonderful. They really went the extra mile to help with my car!!
