Normally don’t have an issue with this HomeGoods but today (10/12) I did. Went in at 9:30 looking for a particular item and was told previously and confirmed again today with their manager Mike Green that they cannot hold items so I went in looking for this item and an associate had it in her hands as if she was going to put it out on the floor and when I asked if I could get that from her so she didn’t have to put it up she said “no a customer called and it’s being held for them” I explained that I was told by that manager they aren’t allowed to hold any items but Barbara (the associate) wanted to argue with me and change her story 3 different times. I had then called the manager to confirm again they weren’t allowed to hold any items and he said it was correct so I explained what happened and he apologized then tried to find me another one but they only had the one. Later on around 3:30 I called again to see if they had put anymore out and the associate who answered the phone was an older lady asked what she could help with and I said I was looking for this particular item and she immediately popped an attitude saying “we don’t have them they’re gone” I said “I understand but I have a family friend who is working currently who said she just unboxed them and that you have some to call up so it could be held” she then said “I’m not going to tell you again they’re sold out” and proceeded to just hang up on me. I’ve been trying to call back to speak to a manager about this interaction but no one has been answering the phones. Really disappointed in how these two employees are treating their customers.
HomeGoods has interesting things to furnish your house with knicknacks and accessories, but I struggle to honestly reccomend visiting the physical store after a difficult experience last Saturday. The store was busy and dirty, multiple shoppers were removing their masks to talk easier with no immediate recourse, the isles are tight and cramped (meaning you'll likely be stuck next to a literal mouth-breather sans-mask with no way out). To further compound the issue, they've placed directional arrows across the store with little apparent rhyme or reason - attempting to follow these arrows (which absolutely no one did during my time there, neither staff nor shoppers) means you're consistently looping in circles around the store until you get stuck next to a new gaggle of shoppers that have removed their masks. I would strongly recommend shopping elsewhere, even post-pandemic: cluttered isles and tight corners so they can jam in as much merchandise as possible is an unpleasant shopping experience.
Nice selection on items, but customer service is hit or miss. I had an issue there a few months ago so I did not return. I returned for the holiday season to grab some hosting items including glassware. The cashier poorly handled my items, banging boxes with glass cups on the counter. It’s not the experience you’re expecting when you’re spending over $100. My previous experience I asked for a price adjustment on 3 clearance items, all the exact same items with 3 different prices. ($5, $7, and $10.) When I asked to have them adjusted, the manager fought me on it claiming the 3 items arrived at the store at different times and therefore were different prices. I argued that the numbers on the stickers were all the same number. She adjusted one from $10 to $7, and refused to do anymore. It is not a significant amount, but the experience was horrible and nonsensical. Especially considering the many alternatives near by.
I am writing to alert you about an incident involving my 83-year old mother and her experience at a Home Goods store located at 13540 Hoover Creek Blvd #900, Charlotte, NC 28273. Yesterday, October 13 2023, my mother was returning two broken items that were purchased just the day before (Oct 12). The two items totaled approx $16. Her entire purchase was greater than $100. The store manager and clerk accused my mother of fraud by suggesting that she broke the items herself. She was even told that one of the items had an old inventory sticker from 2020! My mother was mortified. She could not sleep. I assisted her yesterday to return $95 worth of items because she was so traumatized over the experience. She now wants nothing to do with a store where she previously loved to shop. I have escalated the matter with the corporate customer service team. But, wanted to share the story for the public.
I made a return with the tag intact but had no receipt because I couldn't find it. The manager allowed the exchange, but with my return copy, they gave me another printout warning me that I am no longer allowed to return items without a receipt. I asked the lady how long is this "ban?" She said she didn't know. Wow, so this is making me re-think if I really want to give Homegoods any more business. I do not constantly show up with no receipts because there have been other times I have presented a receipt for an exchange. As much business as I have given them over the years, I feel like I am being punished for not keeping up with my receipts!! That is crazy!! I had no idea they had a policy like this!! Beware!!!!
Customer service experience was horrible today. I normally love Home Goods and I am a regular customer that comes in almost weekly and purchases items from this location. Brought in an $8 frame that I just purchased a few days ago that I did not have the receipt for. Jackie tried to be helpful in the beginning and get me a merchandise credit multiple times and the manager Sabrina wasn’t helpful at all. She basically told me there was nothing they could do about it and that I couldn’t even exchange the frame for something else. I mentioned exchanging multiple times to Jackie and she was rude about it. Will not be going back anytime soon to this location. Very disappointed.
I came in today to simply ask a question about an item I saw online that I was interested in.. The staff at registers 5 and 4 took everyone ahead of me and when it came down to the last in line (myself) they purposely over looked me and continued to gossip about their manager that they apparently don't like because he's never there but he's "always there". I stood in line for about 10mins before I decided to walk out of the store. Very unprofessional and rude. I will not be coming back to spend any money with this company again nor will I recommend this location to any of my friend's and colleagues.
Awful customer service. I was standing in line, next to be rang up, for about ten minutes. There was a multitude of employees stocking the sleeves for Christmas decor when Christmas is not even here yet. The manager (I assume), Mary, was stocking shelves as well, well knowing I was standing there for a while. The only cashier working, after those ten minutes, finally asked another employee to help ring me up. The other employee made a face and said she didn’t want to. It was only until the customer in front of me said anything about it being ridiculous, until something was done.
I selected an item to purchase. When checking out the sales associate said the price couldn’t be right. I said I know it’s a great price. She said, no it really can’t be right and proceeded to do a price check. It turns out that it was incorrectly priced. Instead of $9.99 it should have been priced $29.99. How is that the buyers fault? I’ve worked in retail before if it was incorrectly priced we had to sell it at that price. The cashier and the manager weren’t accommodating and made me feel as if I had changed to price. I won’t ever shop there again.
I just had the WORST experience returning an unopened item at this Rivergate Homegoods location. I was returning an item I was not going to use and the nice to lady was about to give me gift card because I did not have a receipt. Which is fine but GEORGE looks at me and product and says check online before you complete transaction. I have not experienced Balant racism but I just did. I will NEVER shop at this store again. I am Very Disappointed in how I was just treated as a paying customer who normally always shops there. I will NOT be back!
Let me just say that the two African American workers were really nice and helpful but this White American woman was on another registry and she had more experience than our cashier but for some reason she couldn't bother to switch cashier places with the woman who was helping instead of making everyone wait in that line, she had an attitude toward the inexperienced workers and made it seem like we were an inconvenience with what we wanted to purchase which didn't have a price tag, I think she should be more responsible and friendly.
I used a gift card to check out and the sweet cashier hit the wrong key and the transaction required calling a manager. The manager said “we will have to return all the items unless you have cash” obviously I did have cash on the gift card!!! He belittled me for something that was a mistake on their end. Apparently returning the items and making it right as it was Their mistake never occurred to him. He just lost himself a customer!! 3 stars for the sweet cashier, so much for the lack of leadership!!! R.boyce
Homegoods stores have some of the unique decor collections. We shop here all the time for seasonal decor items. Also the furniture collections are awesome. We have bought so many furniture like outdoor patio set, kids recliners, bistro set etc. Particularly this store is in a nice location, next to some other stores we often visit. The employees are so caring. They respect customers and whole heartedly receive us and assist us in our store experience. We difinitely recommend everyone to visit this store.
Customer service is it important they have one very rude person i get good customer service last week i spend over $500 today i have two item she take time and left me the next register she don't even say sorry i have to take my candle to other register she make fun because i go to other register she expect me to wait until she finished with out she communicate me even i pay to complete my shopping because i love the store but i don't know how i go back to see the same face
Organized shop with ok assortment of home goods . It was decoration, lamps, bed close. Kids bedroom stuff . Kitchen, closet organizing items , some furniture , stuff for bathrooms, some food , pictures , mirrors . I feel it was better couple of years ago this brand but is still a good place to purchase some stuff . Not the cheapest I feel but also not really expensive. Lots of parking . Can have some lines . Good return policy.
I had one of the WORSE shopping experiences EVER at this store. I will not return and gonna be sure that everyone i know DOES NOT SHOP HERE!! Long story short, purchased an item, it didn't work out so I took it back, well they made a mistake on my refund. They refunded 100% of my purchase to a cc even though I paid over $100 in cash. When I asked about it the MANAGER proceeded to laugh as I was told there's nothing we can do.
I could stop by Home Goods every day and see new things. I love this store! They have designer products at super discounted prices. If you are decorating your house and looking for the unique piece don't miss this place. I enjoy going up and down the isles just to see all the items because they have everything. I will never pay full price for kitchen, bath, or decor again.
Best place to get your items to furnish your home or apartment. I love all the different pictures, decor for your kitchen, living room, bathroom, & bedroom. The personnel that work there are very helpful, amazing customer service, & knowledgeable about stuff in the store. I will be using tis store to find my items for my apartment & home. Thanks for everything.
My daughter & I had an enjoyable store visit today! Great selections on many needed home items ( mattress pads, pictures, kate spade plates etc) And prices were within our budget! We both left feeling pleased knowing that we made the right choice to shop here!! Definitely looking forward to another great shopping experience real soon.
I like this location very much but this time was a bit awkward as I overheard two employees talking about leaving empty carts in the way in aisles to discourage shoppers from messing up areas they had to zone. It's very crowded any way on a Saturday and I was very annoyed that I had to keep moving their deterrents to get down aisles.
They have cute stuff, like world market but less global style. I went 9n Sunday afternoon and there were too many people in there for my taste. I like to shop in peace. They have a great selection of affordable lamps, wall mirrors , and wicker baskets. I was just browsing and thats what stood out to me
Love this store but went in for one thing priced at around $20 walked out with over $300 worth. HomeGoods, Marshall’s, TJ Max, Burlington Coat factory, these places are a trap for your wallet. However best deals for new brand name stuff. The traditional department stores barely see traffic these days.
Great selection. Staff is helpful most of the time. Our staging and design business spends thousands in this store and staff sometimes gets annoyed at our volume. Go figure. Many employees are excited and enthusiastic to help, but some are happy to watch others do the work.
It's like Marshall's,TJMAXX, ROSS, and many many more. It's a place that always has something new and you'll never know what your going to get. Which could be its weakness. It doesn't have exactly everything or anything, it is usually furniture themed.
This location is always packed to the brim: Everyday decor, seasonal decor, furniture, rugs, kitchenware and pet items. A great store to just browse for things you don't need or if you are looking for something very specific- they probably have it!
Found some nice things at a decent price. Checking out cam be challenging with only one register, however, if yoy can look on the bright side of things it's no big deal. It's one of the reasons why they have all that stuff to look at anyways.
Great store, poor management, huge lines every time, its Saturday 7pm now - they have only 2 cashiers working and 12 people in line. The manager is working on the floor and it looks like she doesn’t care to jump to the register and help out.
Well supplied and reasonably well organized store. Materials are easy to locate and do give it some time to go through. If you're looking for small gifts or if sherys and kitchen cookware needs an update, this store may be a good start.
Worked out well. In. Got my wife's Christmas prize. They had a good check out line going. Lights and a PA system. Called me up. Cash down. Bammo.. Out the door I went. With a Merry christmas to all and to all a good deal.. The end
I got some good deals on the Italian plates and made in Turkey decorative plates. Gifted those to my friends and they loved the designs. Also bought the colourful towels and hand washes and lotions gift sets, which smell great
I slept in the Truck while the wife shopped...store must be really nice because she stayed in there for over an hour...and spent a ton of money.....Hope this helps send a warning to other husband's who get suckered!!Ha ha ha
Pretty nice location. I prefer the location near Audrey Kell as it has a much better and larger selection. I figured this location would have a nice selection due to its location near the lake area but it was just average.
I went there to look for end tables. This was so crowded with merchandise clogging the aisle you could not get a cart down the aisles. After ten minutes of trying to shop between congested aisles I gave up and left.
I am always able to find unique home goods. Most items are very reasonable. Be careful of furniture. Sometimes it can be set at fair market value like in a regular store. When marked down by clearance huge bargains.
Everyone is helpful and friendly but the last few times the shelves have been pretty bare.. possibly covid and changing seasons. Still a really good selection of items for your home from very fine to moderate.
HomeGoods is one of my favorite store to shop at no matter what city I'm in, the store is always friendly, helpful, good prices, great markdowns and clearances. Good energy without being harassing!
The name says it all. This store is a smorgasbord for all things for your home. This store was clean and the home areas are clearly sectioned with large signs for each area of the home.
Typical location, selection of items could be better and store organization but friendly employees and typical of the company. They have many cool furniture and accent pieces for home.
Very clean and well organized. Great customer service. The aisles are clear and easy to navigate. The lines at check out can get long, but it usually goes quickly. Awesome prices.
Everything is good until i check out, i don’t know why the lady check out for me, she has attitude so rude..maybe i’m asian?..i’m very nice with her..thinking alot for come back.
Found my Xmas tablecloth here. Good selection, good price. I had found my Fall tablecloth here and was very happy with it, so this was my first stop for Xmas. I'll be back.
Too much stuff that I would love to buy- But dont Fear I did leave plenty for everyone else- staff is generally helpful when I visit occasionally the rare block head
You can definitely find something in this store that will catch your eye. The store has many great finds so you'll have to take your time and glance down each aisle.
Way over crowded with people. Shelves were packed and stacked messy with all sorts of different items you couldn’t see everything. Like going to a Bin Raiders.
Love strolling up and down the isles looking at really unique items for the home. Prices are fabulous…but really fun looking at everything in the store.
Love this store. So much for the home in one place. Lots of unique gift ideas. Staff is always friendly and willing to help you if you need it.
The store always has nice offerings and I've learned if I really like something to somply get it because once it's gone. its gone...
How about changing your hours and say hey we aren’t actually open until 11pm like all your stores say online and you close at 9pm.
They finally got a huge amount of inventory in. Yay! Home goods for making things feel norma again. Always been a go to store.
Good Home Goods stocked with all your favorite things you didn't know you needed. Good clearance and usually well maintained.
I use to love home goods In stamford Connecticut they had very good prices but the home goods in Charlotte NC is expensive.
HomeGoods is a great place nice friendly employees like Valarie I LOVE to come in when she work A Great and Warm Welcome..
Covid restrictions not enforced. Way too many people in the store to even shop. Left emptyhanded for the first time ever.
I visit this location a good bit. Theres always good finds at this homegoods. The staff are friendly and professional.
My favorite, great place to find amazing pieces for house decorations for any occasion and any season. Just perfect!
You can easily go into a rabbit hole with this place and have so many different items in your cart. Love this place.
This is my 2nd favorite HomeGoods because it fills a variety of my needs. Cool part is they have amazing furniture.
My first experience and reminds me of a Belk's store in NC. Very clean and well kept. A+ to your maintenance staff.
It's a really nice business for lady to shop man it's something there for you too if you're shopping for your la3
Great store with good deals. I usually scout for the clearance area, but I also find good deals in other areas.
The best one I have been in. Large, well organized and very stocked up. Great prices, don't miss stopping here!
HomeGoods Rivergate is so nice and organized. It's just a pleasure to go in there. My favorite one so far.
Halloween decorations are ready for you here. Look at all of the goodies to add to your display this year.

Great customer service and the store is always organize. Whenever I used the bathroom is super clean.
Good location. Not well stocked with new and interesting items but it's clean and staff is friendly.
Staff are super nice, and they keep the store pretty clean. Tons of Rae if you are looking for them.
Much more organized than many of their stores and seems to carry more higher end furniture than some
This store does not disappoint. I get the same shopping experience from their family store, TJMAX.
Today was a good day and positive experience, despite store was quite busy. Great service! Thanks!
Fabulous! I found everything I needed area rug, curtains, curtains rods, etc. very good quality!
I love looking at all of the merchandise in this store, you never know what you might find!
I like the place. It's not that expensive and they have a great selection of home goods.
