I bought a lot of stuff during the Bay days and winter holidays. Their hbc stripes line is of good quality and very nice looking, favourite item is a simple breakfast mug, it holds lots of tea Got two throws for a good price but one was ruined after the first wash, so sad because they are so soft and warm. They have a nice range of small appliances, I was able to find the cuisinart blender I wanted - every other store sold the cheaper model which I had and it was not very good, this one was much better and I got it on sale making it even cheaper than my original cheaper edition. I also bought some dinnerware here and its been holding up well, still no chips in the stoneware, love that. The store has never been crowded when I was here except in the coat department during winter. Its always clean and organized. They reopened the doors on the lower level which I am very happy about, I dont like entering through the mall because of the strong perfume odor. The staff are nice, ive had limited experience interacting with them except at checkout but they are always friendly. Overall Ive been pretty happy with my purchases here and am looking forward to the next bay days sale ❤️
We've been having a terrible time at the bay. Tons of problems with our registry and the website and customer service. After our wedding we ended up with a ton of gift cards so we went to try and use them. I practically dragged her in there after the problems we had. At some point we mentioned our issues to a salesman, and he jumped into action! They brought their best people out. Katie the manager came out and personally handled our shopping, with the help of maja, who literally came off her break to help us find everything we needed. Our kitchen is now beautifully stocked, our pantry is organized, and we're big fans of the Bay! Thank you guys! Pro Tip: choose your home store carefully when setting up your registry. It actually matters
I had the best interaction with Lucia in the women’s wear department, more specifically with my bra sizing. She was so helpful as soon as I approached her, calm and relaxed. I didn’t plan to come in today to find a better bra but since I have been dissatisfied with my purchases from my top drawer a couple months back I gave up until today. I will be coming back to see her, such a pleasure to meet such a lovely individual who takes pride in helping others, she stayed in the room with me to help me decide whether my bra was the right fit, she even took the time to explain cup sizing and band measurements. Please give her a raise, it is well deserved!! Thank you again Lucia :)
Came to The Bay at Mapleview looking for a specific sweater I received for Christmas, my daughter loved it and I wanted to get her one. I was in the middle of explaining this to the lady at the Olsen counter and ready to show her a picture when she INTERRUPTED me and said “ I can’t help you, I only know the Olsen product “. I was completely taken aback, I hadn’t even shown her the picture of the sweater. This is terrible customer service!! In this day and age when retail is suffering you’d think these stores would do whatever possible to make a sale and keep their customers coming back. This woman had no clue what good customer service is.
The Black Friday sale was fantastic..they had a great assortment of sizes and colours for what we were looking for, however when we got to the checkout, the Gentleman who was the cashier grossly over charged us, as he was the one applying the discounts..I tried to tell him that he was incorrect..but he advised that.he was right. I made him walk through the store with my items..and he found out that he was incorrect and then had to ring up everything again, and with a huge lineup.. people weren't impressed..but no apology came forth..?? No good for retail business, or any business for that matter..
Good selection of merchandise and comfortable layout of the store. They offer decent promos from time to time so that's always a bonus. I do find this company is consistently under staffed, often very difficult to find an associate for assistance. I was at the shoe department on 2 occasions to find the same: if asking for a size or checking out it was all the same line. Its alright as long as you allot sufficient time. I waited 25minute for my size and took all 3 pairs without trying them on as I did not want to wait in line again to pay. It all worked out great in the end as the shoes fit!
Too difficult to shop here. Women's clothing department is divided by designer, so to shop for pants one has to visit multiple areas of the department. Plus sizes are rare and require searching through every rack in every designer area. As a person with mobility challenges, there is too much traveling within the department, especially if you're not familiar with the individual designer's style and sizing. The employees were pleasant and helpful when I was finally able to locate them. Goodbye Hudsons Bay, you've lost a lifetime customer.
The customer service here is not my favorite. We waited in line for probably 10 mins to check out, watching spare workers walk in and out from behind the desk. It became frustrating when the one person running the cashier has been helping another customer for over 10 mins and no one opens the other till to check out the line of other people. We eventually gave up and walked away and wandered to a different area to be able to pay. Which wasn't the easiest to find as several different sections are closed, change rooms and all.
I was very frustrated because the lady at the cash pressured me into signing up for an account that I had mentioned MANY times wasn’t for me. I was confused, and uncomfortable with why she was asking for so much information for an account. At the end I realized it was a credit card that I never will use. When I tried to cancel it I was told it would affect my credit score. This was deeply disappointing as I feel like I was lied, and tricked into creating a credit card I didn’t want.
Could improve the number of cashiers open at the 2nd floor return/pick up order area. Line had spiraled around. Wait times were long. There was only two tils open. While waiting in line two workers approached each other laughed at how busy it was and how they should open more tils told each other to open a til refused and walked away together. Unprofessional behavior by these two. However, when I got to the cashier she was pleasant young lady who left a good impression.
I was asked during a purchase to get a rewards card. I did, and after having it for several years I discovered that it was not collecting points. I asked customer service and was told that "they could not help me at this time". No effort at all to fix their mistake. One of the purchases I made was to buy 4of their Bay towels, at close to $60 each they have been a total fail. They are frayed, have pulls and strings hanging off after only 6 months.
Since management has decided to close its stores at 7 PM weekdays, my family and I rushed to get there and managed to get in the store by 6:50 PM. By the time we found what we were looking for and tried it on, we were already being rushed out of the closing store. We left the store and managed to visit 3 other stores in the time remaining for them to close at 9 PM, and we ended up spending our $250+ elsewhere.
The fact that this Iconic Canadian retailer is now owned by an American conglomerate saddens me. I try to support brick and mortar as much as possible, but for this company to stay in business they will have stop marking items up with 300% profit built into the retail price. Also find a better checkout system. I felt like I was at Winners or Marshall's, but spending 3x as much for the same product. Sad...
As good as you expect from a department store: spacious and clean; wide variety of choices; friendly and helpful staff; a bit pricey, but you can find great options. This location is accessible from both inside the Mapleview Shopping Centre and a separate entrance, outside the mall. I went in to do a return and I received a great customer service from the lady behind the counter: she was friendly and helpful.
It's like every other Hudson's Bay you've ever been in. However, when I made a return here the woman behind the counter was incredibly pleasant. She was very assuring, friendly and helpful when I explained there was an issue with my item. The bags were out of stock so she offered to have a replacement shipped to my house at no extra cost. The bay is pricey but sometimes it's worth it for the customer service.
Friendly professional staff helped me pick out he perfect gift for my sister ! I provided a brief description of what I was looking for, the gentleman who was assisting me was very knowledgeable which made my choice much easier . When unsure exactly what you are looking for , Hudson's Bay jewellery/beauty and fragrance staff in Mapleview Mall are very good at helping find the perfect item !
I don't like to leave bad reviews but this Hudson's Bay looks just like Sears did before they went out of business. The carpeting and flooring look terrible to the point it makes the clothing and other goods look bad. The staff didn't seem to enjoy working there either. It doesn't feel like you are in The Bay there, more like a Winners in that strip mall you try to avoid.
Despite how busy the counter staff are, (and kudos to management for the new type of desk lineups in the style of Winners), the staff are always friendly and helpful. I would like to give special recognition to Roula who handled my returns with courtesy and reassurance as I had been concerned I had been overcharged on an item. She is wonderful!
Lots of stuff on sale/clearance due to Christmas season. Could improve in department placement as lots of other departments collide with each other and can distracts a potential buyer from buying . But it's a big company, opinions are far from the reach. Giving full stars / rating for huge collection and available brands.
I received some very good service today. I was looking for a man's wallet. I asked a young man if he could tell me where they were. He stopped what he was doing and walked me there! I was amazed!! It's Christmas and they're so busy but he made the time!! Very happy customer! Props to the young man who made that sale!!!!
I came to maple view at Burlington on Saturday me and my friend specifically to Hudson Bay From cosmetics and the treatment was very bad especially from worker name Yomoko she was following us she was so racist and rude to us I was trying to talk to her manger but couldn’t get her/him. Burlington mall better treatment.
Shoes and clothes are of good quality. Sad to see this company shut down. I think the big bosses better get their act together cause they seem to be following the footsteps of Eatons and Sears. Stop your golfing and start working. I know you have the funds but the loyal workers ( the one who work) deserve better.
Good selection of different brands and an okay amount of options. Missing a lot of sizes which made it hard to find things I liked in my size. Home section is better with a good variety of option and some better quality stuff. I'd go occasionally but wouldn't make a special trip to try and find something
Very clean and well organized place. Nice staff and great deals. Cosmetic department always has someone available and are all experts at what they do. If you haven't signed up for the HBC Mastercard yet, go into the bay and let someone help you sign up for one and get 20% off your purchase!!!wow …
Love the selection and elegant products especially great for work and special occasion clothes. Only down side is the fee number of checkout desks sprinkled throughout the store make checkout a chore. Always long lines. Need a better organized checkout system and separate service area for returns etc.
Sydney helped my hubby and I pick a matching pair of running shoes. She was friendly, provided helpful information while we were browsing, and quickly helped us to get something we liked in our size, while doing a great job helping others in line :) Excellent service, thank you so much for your help!
I had been missing the Hudson Bay stores of twenty years ago, with lots of merchandise beautifully displayed until I visited this location at Mapleview Mall in Burlington. It is fully stocked and adequately staffed. Check out the great selection of iconic striped kitchenware and Hudson Bay bedding.
Very impressed with their adherence to covid protocols - the cleaning of counters, card readers and doors and also personal spacing were all excellent. The store was also well stocked with lots of specials. The staff were helpful and friendly. And this is from someone who dislikes shopping!
Had an excellent shopping experience today at the Hudson Bay in Burlington. I especially had a helpful young man in the fitting room section that was very helpful, cheerful and and kind, he helped me with the many outfits I had to try on. Thank you Sales Associate Yalim. …
Went to many stores looking for a dress without success. Went into Hudsons Bay and found one right away. Best part is it was marked down significantly. Next time I need clothes I am going to start my search here. I'd give it 5 stars if things were regularly priced a bit lower.
Much better selection if clothing and brands than they use to have. Sometimes hard to find an associate to help you out, have to wander around. Can be a bit cluttered in the store which makes it hard to navigate when it's busy. Overall nice stuff, but when on sale.
Great place has turned into a department store more than the traditional trading post it started life as. Still has amazing quality goods that you can't get anywhere else. Plus you can get everything you need for the home or going out under this one huge roof.
This Hudson Bay location has a decent layout, okay inventory however trying to find an employee in any section ( besides fragrance and cosmetics) is very difficult. I left without making a purchase as there was not anyone in sight to ring it up!
As a loyal customer, I had very disappointed experience today. The cashier at Maple View Bay 1st floor, two women who kept telling me can not return the trouser that I bought last week on black Friday, because it was wore by my husband just
I recently had the great fortune to encounter ELVIS, your employee who listened to what the difficulty with my HBC card was and promptly volunteered to help me sort it out. I am a 14 year former employee of HBC (Major Appliances) and have
Its kinda crazy how they needed buy outs before and if you go an look most of the stuff they are selling can be found other places cheaper found an l sectional that was nearly 9 grand... go to leons or anywhere else its not like its the
During the lockdown my wife has been ordering online from the BAY and couldn't be happier with their online ordering and delivery. The delivery is very fast even more so than Amazon. Lots of good quality merchandise and good sale prices.
Great selection, especially children's clearance. Male staff member (did not see his name tag) offered assistance- atypical for me at a department store. Although I declined, it was nice to have been recognized. Keep up the great work!
Brought back an online purchase that didn't work out. Very helpful in getting me a replacement item. Appreciated how tidy and organized the clothing was....made it easy to see what was available without having to paw through everything
I had a great experience shopping at Hudsons Bay at the Clinique Kiosk! The associate who was working, I believe her name was Lily, was beyond helpful and suggested a great Christmas gift for my mom. She also took the courtesy to put
I was a bit annoyed this visit. I had purchased a dress on line in a size medium only to find it was too large. When I purchased it I think I must have gotten 15 percent off; so then I purchased the same dress in a small (that day no
Started purchasing some products from the fragrance department. The new sales partner Tanya was extremely helpful. Knowledgeable attentive. Listened to what I wanted and not what they wanted to sell. Kudos to The Bay and Tanya
The clothing options this season are dreadful. Little House on the Prairie met up with Great Aunties misty mints...ugh! Where are the bright colours after 2 years in lockdown. Time to celebrate and drab doesn't do it!
Was looking for products at the Clinique & Estee Lauder counters. The two ladies that worked the evening of Jul 19, were beyond helpful. Just lovely and knowledgeable, and accommodating. Thank you both so much!
In the fragrances section, Brandon was great at giving non-biased opinions, was always respectful, and ensured I bought a fragrance I would not regret. If I could give a 6 star I would, I absolutely recommend!
We went for women's wool or wool/blend coats. Frustrating as the coats are scattered through the entire womens department. Hard to finf. Many had not been steamed. Not interested in buying a creased coat.
Better than other locations in terms of items and stock. The company should consider carrying some maternity clothes in-store not just online. I think it would minimize the amount of returns.
Jeff at Hudson Bay is very amazing . Top level service. He helped me with sizes, prices and discounts going on in store. Make sure to ask for Jeff when u go at Hudson Bay . Amazing human too.
Very disorganized...sloppy and stale smell. Women's clothing was a mess! Wrinkled, over priced garbage is what I would call the women's dresses for the year...can't believe it was 'The Bay'.
This is more a complaint of the company as a whole, but the elimination of affordable clothing for the more designer "boss" or "Ralph Lauren" brands makes no sense for this demographic.
The clothing choices at Hudson's Bay was very disappointing. They used to be a great clothing store, I shopped there for many, many years now I walk in there and walk out empty handed.
Noone around to assist customers - not layed out for quick department identification - didn't have many items from heir website made it less than stellar shopping experience
They have beautiful merchandise. I love the Bay but unfortunately their customer service really sucks. You hardly find any sales associates to help you or to cash you out.
When i was with my friends, an employee named Maria had a nice conversation with us and was very nice to every single one of us. I would definitely consider returning
I feel that over the years the quality of goods has dwindled & prices have grown. Was disappointed in the selection & did not purchase anything. Parking was ample .
Hudson Bay seems to have alot of clearance and out of fashion clothes in there store. It's over crowding new arrivals . Store pleasantly clean and bright lighting
While with my friends, Maria (one of the employees) chatted with us and was very kind to each and every one of this. Would highly recommend taking a visit there.
good place for lifestyle products and dresses, however the salesperson are not very helpful during busy season. this is for burlington mapleview mall outlet.
Chaotic and no display signs to find anything. They dont have any clerks workng inside the store other than at the counters. Cant find anything.
Great selection of men's items, but the store is extremely warm for some reason and I find many of the staff to be unhelpful or unprofessional.
The bay carries many name brand clothing. And have a good bedding, houseware and furniture selection. A little over priced in my opinion.
The store is well set up and is a great place to shop. The have a good selection of products and brands. This is worth another trip soon.
Hatice was amazing! Her service was unparalleled in helping me find exactly what I needed. Would recommend her amazing service to anyone!
Bought 2 beautiful dress with very low price. Store is clean and staff are friendly and understanding the new normal and covid protocol.
The bay always has beautiful items and good deals! We got a pair of earrings for my daughter 75% off $250! Came to $88 they're 14 q gold
The Bay always has a good selection of winter coats this time of year. Got one for my son for $130 with discount. Can't argue with that.
I wanted to buy a mattress for my new apartment and sat down to test it out and immediately got asked to leave in a rude tone.
i was looking for a simple dress . there were So many dresses and nothing i liked...expensive and nothing i wanted to wear
502 jeans - 3 pair different manufacturers different red tab on one pair different prices -same location in store?
Tried to buy a pair of sandels ,only on salesperson, I left after waiting for approximately 30 minutes
Couldn't find anyone to help me. Waited for 30 mins and left. Not coming back.
This branch has the best sales associates.. very knowledgeable and friendly.
Love this store at this location. Clean, organized and always stocked.
Thank you Jeff for your help purchasing a suit. Attentive and helpful.
Some items were reasonably priced but some overpriced and on sale
Good quality and selection of products lots of discounted items.
Great selection of housewares and friendly staff
