I have banked with IBC for over 10 years. It was a much better bank back then but the customer service has never been great. I really only stay out of dimwitted loyalty because it's from Laredo. But I have to say that the Cesar Chavez branch here in Austin is the WORST branch I have ever dealt with which is such a shame because the facility is quite beautiful. But the beautiful experience definitely ends there. I want to echo what many other customers have said, the wait time for a simple deposit through the drive through is ridiculous! 25-30 minutes is unacceptable and they're not that busy! There are usually at least 3 to 4 tellers/employees and on several recent occasions I am watching them from my car and they're carrying on having a great time while me and other cars are sitting there waiting. They will all go into the back room for 3-4 minutes together and leave the entire bank unattended. Deplorable customer service and relations from very incompetent and inefficient employees. They don't respond to these reviews to even apologize or try to make things better. Most of the reviews I've read say the same thing and are from 7 years ago to now! On top of all of this, I tried getting an auto loan thinking that because of all my years of banking here surely I will get a good interest rate and also because my credit is very good, but no they would not consider me for the loan until I found a car and would have to then apply for it. That would take soooo long! The most inefficient systems run this bank. DO NOT BANK AT IBC. I will be closing my account and suggest to anyone that banks here to do the same.
I opened a new business account with this IBC branch on East Ceasar Chavez. The primary reasons were b/c it is only a few blocks from my new office and they promised (several reps and manager) that international outgoing wire transfers were a flat $25. After depositing a rather large sum of money, they wouldn't release the funds for 11 business days. THAT'S 2 WEEKS! I called and went in at least 5 times to ask them to release the funds because I was going to get hit with a 20% late fee. the day after the grace period passed, the funds became available... Back to the international wire. once the funds became available, I made the wire (which btw I had to physically go in to have a rep not know how to fill out the form and ask a manager to come down from upstairs) - spent at least 40 minutes trying to get the wire sent out when BoA is a simple online process that takes at most 3 minutes... - wire completed, I get hit with a $35 fee and my receiving party gets hit with a $18 fee. sigh. This bank makes promises, like the rates and promises to have someone call you back in 30 minutes or by the end of the day. NONE WERE MADE. This is unfortunate as they have a big poster up front that says Forbes ranked us highly amongst other banks due to our transparency, etc... I went in today and spoke with a David. He promised to show action and not just words. He called me back after 30 minutes and got my wire transfer fee of $25 honored. We're looking better now, but this is the service I expect from ALL of the IBC reps.
I’ve banked with IBC bank for many years and the Cesar Chavez branch has to be the worst branch I have ever used. I came to this location because it was close to my job. When I pulled into the drive thru, there were no vehicles in line. I signed the check I needed to deposit and sent it in. After about 5-10 minutes, I was asked for my ID. I stated I didn’t send it in because I was depositing and not getting cash back and that the Luling & San Marcos branch never needed my ID to make a deposit. Nevertheless, I sent it in anyway and continued waiting for additional 10-15 minutes before the teller finally came back and said the deposit was complete but they were putting the entire check on hold for 7 days. At this point, I’m upset because a simple 5-10 minute transaction turned into 30-35 minutes and made me miss my lunch and return back to work a couple minutes late. Not to mention, usually when I deposit a check at my local branch, I’m able to access partial funds since I have regular Direct Deposit for my payroll check and they can see that. This location has really made me consider closing out my account once my funds are available and sticking with just A+ who I currently use as my secondary checking account. And let’s be serious. 1 star is me being generous.
I've worked at a couple of banks before owning a Buisness and I have to say, I have never been treated more poorly. With some experience in my background, I have learned the most important thing is custom service! If you call the teller to send you the carrier and they say "what" instead of greeting the customer is just rude. They took for ever for a simple deposit where you can see inside and notice it wasn't busy at all. There were like 6 tellers literally just laughing inside and taking their sweet time. I called the teller again and asked what was taking so long and said "Oh ummmm it's already ready let me send it to you.". IBC is not known for the best bank. The only thing you are doing is making its reputation worst by hiring people who don't care! So, NO, I am definitely not coming back to this location and don't recomend it.
As you walk in to this beautiful bank, you are greeted by a friendly staff, but the service is horrible!! They don't know what they are doing. They don't know how to fill out forms and which forms to fill out. They don't know bank procedures and policies!! The manager is as slow as a sloth. There is only one wonderful person there and she is a teller who helps with a smile on her face and has a wonderful attitude!!
Michelle today was VERY HELPFUL from the Ceazar Chavez location! I needed my account number so I can get my taxes sent and I tried to call customer service they didn't even tell me I could get the account number from the bank I use specifically, they just said they can't give that info over the phone and hung up. I love the Cesar Chavez location because they are helpful and enthusiastic.
High turnover ratio. Always a long wait. Tellers present themselves as incompetent and then there is never a manager available. For these reasons I choose to deposit via ATM! Now they were hacked and deposits were missing and balances were off. Overdraft fees were promised to be refunded but has not happened and I am still missing a deposit just days before delivering my baby!
Worst bank to deal with, they don’t truly discuss the details of deposits process and they don’t really help whenever you need the help! Don’t open any type of account here! Stay away from them! We just waiting for everything to clear in order to remove everything from from them!!
By far one of the worst banks ever. They have no structure going on. The wait times are ridiculous. At times between 30 to 45 minutes. They seem understaffed but I do see managers in there that obviously do not care to come help their staff.
20 minutes in line to get to the commercial window and 10 minutes to execute a simple deposit and change order. Why anyone needs to spend 30 minutes for a simple transaction is beyond me! They need some organizational help very badly.
I do not recommend IBC Bank overall. DO NOT save your money here. I have requested a new ATM card since 4 months ago and never arrived. Multiple people have been helping me without knowing exactly what to do with my case.
Terrible bank! They treat their employees horribly and all they care about is making a sale. Company needs an entire restructuring. Get rid of Dennis Nixon and Bob Barnes. Would not recommend doing ZERO business with.
They had people waiting in line with 2 closed window and only 2 clerks working with 3 other people working at the desk laughing and talking. Step away from your desk ladies and come to the clerk area and help.
So convenient they are growing in Austin from Laredo and you only need $10 to open an account and they have ATM cash deposits! definitely coming back. So happy to bank here.
One of the trainers there tried to get me fired. They were going to corporate to have me fired. Do not trust this bank. Stay far away from these people. They are leeches
Need a mortgage? Don’t bother here unless you have over 4 lines of credit. They won’t tell you this until you are way into your application., wasting a week.
HORRIBLE customer service LAZY ASS WORKERS NEED TO TAKE A CUSTOMER SERVICE CLASS AND REALIZE WHY THEY HAVE A JOB. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN.
I have always been treated with respect and efficiency. Excellent service. Highly recommend. And opens on Saturdays. A bonus!!?
Do not bank with them.....they are horrible the company can't tell if checkes are real. They barely can do they job.
Friendly staff and helpful in trying to resolve issues. They are learning but we all deserve some patience
They change there locations all the time! It’s ridiculous!! And to get in on the phone is horrible..
Today, the manager never show up, so we have to made all the operation in drive tru
Great bank. Beautiful bank with beautiful, professional, and helpful women inside
