"It's a very bad experience going to this shop , I recommend no one go to this shop, one time I went to repair the brake pads that guy in the shop denied to repair and told me the rim has gone as he wanted to charge me a lot of money to fix just brake pads which is easier and he lied to me saying that the rim of the bike have to be replaced to fix the brake pads, as he doesn't have customers and wanted to charge me a lot and I didn't repair at his shop, he told me 150 got, lol, then I went to another shop they fixed the brake pads without changing the rim and they told me rim is perfectly fine, and they only charged me with new brake pads total 25, guys it's not a good shop this inner cycle Glebe better don't go to his shop he wants cheats people "
"Extremely professional, knowledgeable and experienced staff who are passionate about cycling and treat customers as equals, instead of people they are interested in making a profit from"
"Great shop - family owned and sell great bikes (Giant and others including Felt)"
"I didn't buy a bike but I had a very positive experience with this store"
When I had bad experiences at Newtown Cycles' branch in Marrickville, I determined to find a bike shop that didn't exploitatively and opportunistically overcharge while being condescending and unhelpful. My first experience with Inner City Cycles was comparatively amazing. The member of staff I saw was extremely helpful and friendly. I was so pleased!! At that point I was fully prepared to write them a five star review. I've since been back twice and my new high expectations were punctured, and hope slowly leaked from the snakebite of disappointment. I was first sold the wrong tubes (after the attendant had double checked the type I wanted). I went back the same day to swap them and they did so reluctantly and without apology. When I had questions about the suitability of the second tubes I was answered abruptly and without explanation. I went in a third time with another issue, hoping that what I had experienced was just a bad day for whoever served me. My next visit was worse. The attendant solved my problem, but he could not have been any more condescending or less interested. I would really like to support local business with a shop-front presence. I would also love for the prejudice against cyclists to abate, and to fight the view that cyclists are pious, rude and inconsiderate. Inner City Cycles is not helping.

Extremely professional, knowledgeable and experienced staff who are passionate about cycling and treat customers as equals, instead of people they are interested in making a profit from. I was particularly impressed by the range of options I was offered for a new back wheel, from various price points, with objective information. I was never pressured towards the higher end of the spectrum or anything like that; the obvious intention was to help me find the best product for my needs. The range and diversity of stock is outstanding, and the quality of items on sale is second to none. Best of all, the advice of the staff is balanced, honest and extremely helpful. I will definitely be back.
Great shop - family owned and sell great bikes (Giant and others including Felt). Robyn, Ainsley (the owners) and the rest of the crew know their stuff and offer good advice. Importantly bike servicing is excellent, and the cost is reasonable (especially when compared with some of the CBD stores). I bought my first two bikes after 20 years of not riding from Inner City Cycles, and cannot fault the guys (or bikes). They remember their customers, which to me is important. Given the rise of online buying please do not forget the hardworking small business owners who do provide personalised service.
I didn't buy a bike but I had a very positive experience with this store. I lost my wallet in Ultimo , where it was found by Richard, a member of the Inner City Cycles team. Richard found my phone details and promptly called me to advise he found my wallet. I picked it up in the shop and I was really appreciative. If these guys are so honest and responsible in their free time, I can only believe they run a truly fantastic business. Good karma and all, what a fantastic gesture and a genuinely selfless act. Thanks again Richard. A1
Service is good, but only when they finally get to you. It always seem to be understaffed. But again, once you are being served i found it that they did care for my issues and did what they could to help. At one point, i had a major issue with the bike where i fell and a car went over it, and the guys did the best price possible for a 2nd hand. And the price was FENOMENAL. i still have that bike and it gets a thrushing. This place gets a 4 star for service but demoted to 3 stars due to the long waiting times.
Such a great experience dealing with inner city cycles! The guys are super nice. I’m a young girl in her early 20s living alone so I feel like people could easily rip me off and it would impact me a lot, but they were so helpful when fixing my bike last week. Even helped me fix my bike lock for free and didn’t upsell me a new one! The prices are also really reasonable! Shop small, and definitely don’t go elsewhere if you live nearby ie. a bigger chain shop.
I just brought Giant Cross City 2 from Inner City Cycles. I had made my mind about flat bar road cycle, but was not sure which one to get. So I visited couple of other shops before visiting Inner City Cycles. These people helped me to choose the correct cycle as per my height, budget and nature of use. They offered me excellent competitive price too. Am extremely happy with my purchase. Will visit same shop in future if needed.
Extremely happy with the experience while buying Bike. Was confused between two choices, they helped me get that sorted very smoothly.. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, They listened to the my requirement and gave appropriate suggestion. Really competitive prices too. Before finalize any bike one should drop by and check out option, even test ride one. Kudos to you guys ! Keep up the good work !!!
Purchased a Propel Advanced SL yesterday from Alex and Ainsley the store owner. I was most impressed with Alex the sales person who was very knowledgable about the Giant Range. Ainsley the shop owner performed my fit which feels unbelievable and I cannot wait to punch out some serious k's. I walked out of the store very impressed and wowed by my experience. Will be coming back time and time again.
If you're looking for an honest, knowledgeable and courteous bike shop in Sydney to visit, then Inner City Cycles needs to be on your list. Alex is particularly attentive to the customers needs and wants giving in depth advice on all topics bikes. Only reason it is not a 5 star is their emails responses can be delayed (4-5 hours), but generally they are on point (better than most).
Unfortunately Tim was unable to fix my wheel because it required a rather unique part that's now obsolete and very hard to find (Thanks Shimano) but he spent time and effort trying and then identifying the exact part to ask for if any other LBSs might have it. Very friendly and helpful service as you'd expect from a non-chain LBS. Highly recommend.
After visiting horrible Reid Cyclery, i was in bad mood and thinking that inner sydney cyclery shops are all useless. I was wrong. In this shop, customer service is great. They were honest and actually gave me good tips and advises. Most importantly they have listened and understood what are my goals when it comes to building a perfect fixie.
This bike shop is absolutely fantastic. I am only a casual cyclist, and I have found that so many other bike shops are staffed by people who act so outraged that you're not as into cycling as them. Inner City Cycles has such friendly staff that have helped me out at short notice a bunch of times. Couldn't recommend them enough.
One of the best customer service. Tim gives you honest opinion without trying to up/cross sell for the sake of selling and profiting. A very good family owned store which I prefer over buying online - at least for my cycling needs. You won't be disappointed. Thanks Tim for your help to choose my son's bycycle.
Lovely little local shop. They will always give honest advice, and their prices are really competitive compared to sydney bike shops and always nice to drop by and have a quick chat. Grown with them through the years, bought 3 bikes with them and counting and hope they keep on doing what they are doing!
Very friendly and always have what I need. I get the same staff member every time, he really goes out of his way to help out as best as possible without judging me as I don’t know all there is about fixing bicycles but I’m still keen to do it all myself. Don’t stop doing what your doing, its great!
Friendly and experienced staff went out their way to help me - walked in Saturday arvo with a brake bike issue that I needed sorted before a big Sunday trail ride - bike was sorted and done whilst i waited. Robyn, Alex and Tom were all great and extra bonus was the sushi place next door.
I just needed a new helmet, and the staff were competent and quick to find two that fitted me well, (and one was very competitively priced). So very happy with the service. (Note: my last visit was before the new management took over; check for more recent reviews.)
I must've turned up on a bad day. I had a teenager attempting to assist me, I guess he tried his best but I'd have preferred a manager or an adult who could've offered a little more. When i went back an older bloke helped me and was very knowledgable. Thanks
If I could give a higher star rating I would. Tim and George are outstanding, great customer service and are very fair with pricing. They go over and above what’s required to make the customer happy, giving a three month warranty period was really helpful.
High recommend. I have been a custmer there for a few months since I bought a bike there, and whenever I have any concerns I can just feel the staff members are here to help. The mechanical services are quick and of high quality.
Not the biggest shop, but have a good range of commuters. Very friendly bunch of people in there. Have purchased 2 bikes. My first one was pinched, and I bought the second one - they gave me a discount. Recommended.
Very friendly, super quick and the cheapest of all the places I’ve spoken to - don’t think I’ve ever been to such a good bike shop before. Highly recommend! I don’t even live in Glebe but would come back any time.
Very friendly staff upon arrival to have my bicycle serviced & flat tire fixed. Regular standard service rates a lot more reasonable than Sydney CBD so worth travelling just over to Glebe to support these guys.
Best bike shop in the city with the best prices and top quality bike services. Ainsley, Robyn and the staff are very friendly and will always do their best to help. Thanks Inner City Cycles.
Very friendly staff, they did an excellent job on my bike and very fast, it was ready in less than 2 hours, and the price is very fair compared to the other workshops, highly recommended.
Always a great experience with George and Tim at Inner City Cycles. Great knowledge and advice, top quality work, fantastic communication and customer service. Highly recommended.
Highly recommend this shop. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, great communication and very quick if you need any bike repairs. Will absolutely come back to this place.
Marie is absolutely lovely, best customer service and so knowledgeable. It’s a really well stocked bike shop for all your repair and accessory needs, will definitely be back
they know their bikes and fixed up a problem I had a couple of days following a bike service. replaced a derailleur, chain and bracket at no charge. i'll keep going back.
Excellent bike shop with friendly service and reasonable prices. So much better than the hipster places that charge an arm and a leg. Recommended without reservation.
Very nice people. I think they are a family but great people to deal with. It’s worth it to come here. They charge you a reasonable price not like other cheaters.
Thanks Inner City! Pete the mechanic custom built my trance and helped me every step of the way before and after purchase- all for the cheapest price around!!!
Fantastic bike shop. Highly recommend. The service is fantastic, very friendly and always willing to help. Our sons bike is still rolling because of this shop.
Robyn and the team of Inner City Cycles are great. Their workshop is fast and very well priced and they do great work. What more could you ask for!
Really honest and friendly team. I have been several times and they have both times shunned opportunity to recommend expensive services and parts.
Really good service on my Italian road bike. Runs like a dream. Staff know their stuff and provide honest advice; not always pushing for a sale.
Rented a road bike from these guys - super helpful and a really nice carbon Felt AR5 for a great price. What a bike shop should be like!
The customer service sucks. I live a half-minute walk away from the shop, yet I am searching for the next-nearest bike shop to visit.
Best of the best bike shop around. They are very friendly and always willing to help as much as possible. I really appreciate that.
Great experience! Very clear and informative, friendly and prompt. Had a bike bit and group set assembly. Will definitely be back.
Very helpful with my request having walked in off the street. Knew their product range and the features that could be adjusted.
Absolutely awesome, they cleaned and repaired it - my bike feels brand new and a joy to ride again and super reasonable …
I bought my bike here two days ago and I got served by a lovely lady who was very pleased and kind. Very good place!
love this place! got a really awesome green roadie off Tim and Ainsley and the gang and would recommend it to anyone
