is . Bathroom is beyond horrible- the Health Dept. Should see it. 2 ★' - (the ladies that are there between 10a-1p, when I typically shop), unfortunately they work with some of the rudest, most ignorant customer service people that I've ever seen. I live and I've heard the same thing from most of the people in the bldg. To make matters worse, I've been cussed out, accosted, and harassed by people hanging out in front of their store & when it went too far, I told the Customer Service desk that the lady outside was harassing & spitting on people that wouldn't give her money- I was actually told that if it's outside they can't do anything about it.... ' . I suggested they call the police before someone gets hurt- like the man that was stabbed when he refused to give the person money. I be bringing it up at the next Association Meeting though. : ! Never any tissue, it is always dirty (I posted pics), the sanitary napkin bin is wide open (the lid doesnt close due to very poor design) showing all the "nastiness*, This time there was blood on the floor and on the toilet, but usually there is ¢r@₱ all over the toilet. I prefer to go to go anywhere else- unfortunately today I had no choice, but it remind me that I needed to let the public know. I live next door, and I will go here unless I have absolutely no choice.
Absolutely rude and unprofessional customer service. I had terrible experience on Dec 26 2019 at this store which is located at 550 N State St in Chicago. In the store, I picked up six cucumbers with the price tag of “two for $1 ” and the other items. While I checked out, I noted a woman casher called Monica was looking for the cucumber’s prices I purchased from the system. With the purpose of a friendly reminder and offering convenience to her, I mentioned to her clearly on the site – “cucumbers are two for $1”. After checking out, I read the receipt immediately and found that the cucumber price Monica input is still inconsistent with the price tag of “two for $1 ”. I was not leaving the counter at that time and thus I immediately requested an inquiry to her. However, Monica and a guy stuff standing next to her who seemed to be helping the customer to pack the bag both refused to answer my inquiry. They basically told me I needed to go to the customer service to check the price. It is ridiculous ! At the customer service, they acknowledged to me that the casher input the wrong price and agreed to refund money. I didn’t understand why the casher did it towards me in such rude way intentionally. She deserves the refresher customer training. No doubt – Jewel Osco - When you lose your customer, you are losing your business from your competitor !!!
This has to be the worst Jewel in the entire Chicago area. Before you enter you are accosted by the bums wanting money that hangout in front of the store (they try to get you on the way out too). Once you enter the store you realize they have nothing that you actually need. If you are some overgrown frat boy, don’t worry they have plenty of beer, hot dogs and Doritos. However, if you are are normal person looking buy groceries for the week you will not be able to find half of what you need. This store is basically an oversized 7-11, they don’t carry a lot of items, other items are ALWAYS sold out, or (as in the case of the meat dept) if it is in stock…it’s definitely not something that looks fresh or even edible. Then there are the employees. I’m well aware that Jewel only hires the dim and dullest, but this store takes it to a new level. Against my better judgment I ran in to pick up a few things, when I asked one person where I could find sugar cubes he said I don’t know and walked way, the second person (who seemed highly annoyed that I was asking him a question) said find someone else he is done for the day. Not only are they incompetent they are also condescending and rude. This store is only a few blocks from my home yet I would rather sit in traffic to drive to the store on Clybourn then deal with this nightmare.
This is definitely one of the smallest locations of Jewel that I visited. Being that it is small does not mean it is not as good as the other location, because in fact, I realized that this one is better. Everything is more accessible and easier to find and easy to get. It is not wide and spacious, but it is not full, so I was free to move around, and it is also convenient for me since I do not want to move around and walk around the store just to get everything. It is easy to get everything from each department. When it comes to their selection, it is limited, but they provide a nice selection to choose from. I like their bakery, produce, and meat departments. Everything is fresh, and I did not have any problems buying those particular goods. I was also surprised to see how wide their selection of liquor was. I mean, the store is small and I did not really expect that they would have that kind of wide and amazing selection of liquors. The customer service is friendly and helpful. Lastly, their prices. I must say that their prices are higher compared to the other grocery stores I visited nearby. I like the store because it is clean and organized. I also like their overall selection. However, I honestly do not like their prices.
The interior and product range is merely adequate. Layout is cramped and somewhat dark, especially in comparison to the Clark and Division store. Pricing is on the high side and seems to have more to do with location than quality. A few of years ago the store was reconfigured to include self-checkout stations, more pre-packaged, grab-and-go option. That has eased checkout wait times--a bit. However, if checkout with a human is preferred in the early morning hours, at midday, between 4:30-6:30 during the post-work crush, or near closing time, fire up your ebook. It will be a while. Service from seasoned employees is usually prompt, pleasant, and professional. Unfortunately, some interactions with newer hires has been none of the above. If you require assistance at the service desk, check the hours before you go. They are not the same as the store hours. Accessible via public transportation: Red Line (Grand stop) and CTA buses #36, #22, #29, #65.
Wow! What a great grocery store! I would have never thought in a million years I'd be reviewing a grocery store, but let me tell you, the food they had to offer was the best I have ever got from any grocery store. First let's start off on our first day in Chicago, we got blueberry muffins from the deli which where to die for! We ate them in the store where there are stools by the window so you can people watch as you enjoy your breakfast! Later that evening we got some awesome salads from their salad bar. I don't know what was in the pasta salad, but it was wonderful. With all the great places to eat in Chicago, I would have never thought I'd be wanting to eat food from a grocery store, but it was so good, I went back every night we were there! I'll sing two songs, one for my blueberry muffin and one for the great pasta salad! I'll sing "Stay with Me, for my blueberry muffin, and "What A Woman Needs", for my pasta salad. Thanks Jewel-Osco!
WARNING: DON'T GO DURING 'RUSH HOURS', e.g. after work.... They added registers but the lines are still outrageous and you can be stuck waiting for a LONG time... Dude in front of me buying just a coke bailed after 10 mins waiting the other day! Aside from the occasional check out nightmare, it's a small Jewel but has a surprising amount of grocery items. There's also a. Pretty decent fancy cheese selection, an OK salad bar that also has a couple flavors of chicken wings. The organic/natural meats selection isn't huge but it's decent priced and it exists. Produce section is large and varied although there isn't an organic version of everything. Booze is definitely there.. Small but has some good options. There's a counter with deli and hot food to take away (or eat there if that's your thing). LOTS of bakery bread options. Frozen section is kinda weak as is drugstore aisle.
Not impressed. Came on a Sunday (7/15) and bought some ground beef. According to the packaging, that is the day that the beef was packed. The sell thru date was listed as 7/18. Fast forward 48 hours to Tuesday (7/17) and I take the beef out of my fridge to find it has completely changed color from pink to brown. To make sure it was bad, I opened the package slightly. My nose was not amused. I decided to blame the mishap on my luck and figured I would trek down to Jewel again to buy another pack. What I found when I got there was disturbing. More packages of dark colored meat similar to the one I bought were on the shelf, waiting to be sold. The problems stretched further than just the ground beef. Many of the other beef cuts were also discolored. I hope this store recognizes that their meat department needs attention and takes appropriate action! Photos attached below.
2nd time around: The cashiers do not care how they bag items. How & why do you put meat with dry goods?? I use to work at Jewel (my first job), they MADE SURE WE WERE TRAINED ON HOW TO BAG ITEMS, now ♀️ its sad... Doubt I'll be back at this location (close by my job). Called myself going grocery shopping... bought some chicken breast (thought the smell was just from previous packages on top or blood). Turns out it was the meat itself. The smell was so intense, I had to throw out both packs of meat. Sad part is that I love chicken breast, but haven't been able to eat it since this situation. Had stock associates cursing on the sales floor, but I can say the cashier was the greatest experience of the entire store. She was so helpful and curious (they dont train new employees the same).
My main frustration with this store is that they sell expired food regularly. Instead of removing expired food from the shelves, they just put it on sale. There are several items that are even months expired. I can’t use Instacart anymore or even send my husband to get anything because neither of them care to check the dates. I basically have to go myself and sort through the food to try to find something that is unexpired. This happens EVERY time I’m buying cream cheese for example. The stocking clerks do not cycle food either so trying to look in the back for an unexpired item won’t work. The bottom line is expired food should be removed from the shelves. There are always homeless people at the door that might take some free food as opposed to just letting food rot on the shelves.
FirsT of ALL, the ready fresh food is NeVeR FresH…..ALWAYS Expired or just one day from. Also, No Variety of Ready Fresh Dishes…. Same OLe Same OLe unlike other Jewel Foods. Last but NoT lease, Jewel Foods accepts Personal Checks with Cash Back. I Lost My Debit Card and explained to the Customer Service Lady after cashing a few checks that week that I had Lost My Debit Card and this was MY Only way to get Cash , She StoPPed my cashing privileges …..I BeLIEve due to the fact her Cashiers were constantly NoT reading my checks and realizing that I had cash BacK.. Training to this Jewel Foods Store Customer Service and Cashiers on how to receive Checks for payment with Cash Back.
Honestly, don’t bother applying here. I know peak season is coming up, but don’t bother. I’ve had my worst experience with Laura in HR. While asking about my availability, she gets frustrated and abruptly hangs up in my face(so she thought). Nevertheless, I can hear her talking sh$t about me to another guy in the room. That’s completely unacceptable, even if it’s behind closed doors. How do you allow someone like that to take on a position in HR? If there are any other college students in the area looking for a job to pay for school, scratch this store off the list. There are better stores else where. From my brief encounter with Laura, I can tell management is extremely unprofessional.
I've been here several times, and yesterday was the first time I had an all-around good experience. Usually the cashiers are rude, slow, or apathetic. Yesterday I actually had a friendly cashier who actually worked to move the long line along. The last time I was here, I asked someone where an item was, and I just got a shrug. Yesterday I got an real answer from a couple of very friendly people, and I even got some advice about how to cook something. Bottom line: they should get rid of the bad workers and keep the good ones. But unfortunately, like other Jewel stores, they don't seem to have an incentive to improve now that Dominick's is gone.
The staff at self-checkout were unpleasant and unhelpful. The first time one of the clipped coupons didn't work, and the staff said "There's nothing I can do", while I had a good experience at another Jewel Osco location where the staff gladly fixed it for me manually. The second time the computer required staff check, and the staff came without greeting after I greeted her, no eye contact, asked me a question with a tone of interrogation, and walked away without spending a single pleasant word. It's as if we're just despicable people to be customers here. Other than that, I appreciate the quality and prices at Jewel Osco overall.
Very disappointed in my most recent experience at this location! Came in at 6pm after work hoping to get some fresh chicken after noticing the few pieces left did not look fresh. I asked the lady behind the counter if she would drop fresh chicken and she rudely told me no. I went to the guest services desk and the manager Nicole was no help either she referred me to Chris which is also a manger he also brushed me off and didn’t try to solve the issue. This location really needs to work on there customer service and management team because there was no leadership at all. I will not be returning back to this location.
I usually like Jewel. Most times they are well stocked and there lots of specials. But today check out was really bad. Only one cashier. An unusually long line in front of us. We had lots of food to checkout. Just as we started to unload our stuff on the conveyor belt a second cashier opened. Too late for us. That second cashier checked out a half a dozen before we finally made it through. What was upsetting is the cashier laughed at us as we complained about the timing. We took much longer to check out than it did to shop. I was very disappointed today.
Great location, some of the staff is professional but, some of the food is old, my experience with one cashier was unbelievable. I had a product that needed checking and she was lazy and arrogant. She wanted me to wait until she finished checking customers, she did not want to take the time to assist me. In fact she called one of the workers to her cash station and instructed him to move the products around. I spoke with her supervisor who apologized and said she would speak with her. I have never been back to that store location.
This location quite literally has the WORST customer service of any grocery store: from the meat department, deli, and cashier; you can expect to be treated like trash. The cleanliness is the exact same. As is their selection, being super small, which is not a huge surprised being downtown. It’s unfortunate there is not a better Jewel within walking distance. I hope they can improve the quality of the customer experience at this location. Note: I’ve been shopping here for over 4 years and it hasn’t gotten any better.
It's conveniently located a few blocks from where we were staying. The flower department lady was incredibly friendly and helpful. Although we did have a produce man and lady laugh at a question we had about cucumbers instead of changing the price error, I felt embarrased to ask any other questions. The store is clean and the prices are around the national average. Wr did self check out and most of our items were not listed which caused a little difficulty but the lady was so sweet in helping us.
I ordered grilled chicken from the deli yesterday, which was undercooked. I called them to report it, even spoke to the customer service desk twice during this call and told that rep about it, my call was continually passed around like a hot potato for 19 mins and 36 seconds. The most ridiculous experience in customer service I've ever been forced to deal with. Maybe they'll see my message here. YOUR DELI CHICKEN NEEDS TO BE FULLY COOKED. YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE REQUIRES IMMENSE IMPROVEMENT.
I shop at this location everyday due to convenience for work. But on 12/4/2019, the sales associate I encountered Steven B. at approximately 7:15pm working on Register 3, he was extremely UNPROFESSIONAL. He started out by alluding that myself and male friend that I was standing with were in sexual relationship. Based off of the purchase of wine and hot food items that evening. I am highly offended by his professionalism and how he chose to conduct his conversation with consumers.
This Jewel-Osco is pretty good. It's a "Marketplace" which I think is their smaller downtown version concept. If you know what you need and know what they carry, they usually have things stocked well. I appreciate that they carry European butter. The produce section is good. Every once in a while you can get a sale on candles and other home decor. The staff at the self checkout is usually friendly and they have a lot of self checkout registers so the lines move fast.
I work at the AMA plaza nearby and I have visited this store multiple times out of need and pleasure and everytime they have very clean, very organized and had their wares stocked very well! Most recently I bought a couple of pumpkins for Halloween and I have to say it was a great visit. The staff is quick and polite and the managers always have a watchful eye. I've always been able to find what I cam looking for and then some. Definitely recommend this place.
Jewel Osco Grand Plaza Market sold Stemlit Dark Sweet Cherries #4035, 1.32lbs with mold and mildew at the bottom of the plastic bag for $6.59. The male Jewel Osco Grand Plaza Market Manager would not refund the money after 5 days. It is not a good shopping experience at Jewel Osco Grand Plaza Market when the Stemlit Dark Sweet Cherries are not fresh, but rotten at the bottom of the plastic bag! Customers did not get their money back.
Don’t ever try applying here to work as a cashier. Please save your time . The manager Caroline is something else and management overall is extremely bad . Everyone tends to quit sooner or later because it’s just bad . That’s why they hire on the spot . The manager literally picks her favorites and DOES not treat everyone equally which is insane. Why is she disrespectful? Who knows . Save your time :))
I am a fan since they upgraded the look of their stores. It used to be a depression inducing visits, but now it's actually pleasurable. I'm not always happy with all their selections, especially since they seem to be getting rid of some of the house brand stuff. But it is what it is. Now that Whole Paycheck is Amazonified out of character, I am glad Jewel has decided to upgrade a bit.
My favorite grocery store. Jewel-Osco has a wide selection of quality foods and household goods. They carry different local and international brands. Also the vegetable, fruits, and meat department are always fresh, and many great choices. Workers are so kind, friendly, personable and very knowledgeable. It was fantastic customer service they provide. My go-to- grocery store.
Located just blocks from Magnificent Mile shops, convenient hours, great deli featuring sliced meats. The alcohol selection is varied for not being a stand alone liquor store. The craft beer selection is phenomenal. Overall, this is the closest and most convenient grocery store for out of town visitors looking to obtain a few items without having to go to the big box stores.
This jewel is small, but acts a a bit of an oasis. there are some specialty grocers nearby, but this is the only 'normal' supermarket for several miles around. While small, there is good selection and you can do all your grocery shopping in one store, so long as you are not too selective in brands. All in all a good little store that is well needed in the area.
Smaller store and fewer stocked merchandise and lesser variety then other Jewels. I went two the store the lasts two times and there was no Strawberry Breakfast Smoothie. The checkout process was always fasts and the cashiers were always pretty pleasant. You seeking a quick run, this is probably the place but for more extensive shopping go to another location.
Pro- Nice to have a small store downtown. Con- Ask yourself do you need help finding anything? If you don't already know the store's layout, the employees will just tell you to ask someone else. Pro-There is a deli with prepared food in the front with a currency exchange. Not for me, but you might just want something from the deli or currency exchange:-)
For the most part the staff is really friendly and helpful however the store is always just a mess there are things missing on every shelf stuff isn't stacked night nicely nicely they're just constantly out of things that people need I don't know who's doing the ordering or what the problem is but Maybe they should use the mariano's delivery service
This Jewel is conveniently located on my shopping route. Although the store is smallish, it has a good selection and the meat department can cut you a very good piece of meat. I usually pick up only a few items because I am walking and I save the long list for a much larger Jewel that has parking. I always try to stop in when I'm in that area.
It's another standard supermarket chain, and is a great option to get food and other staples that are needed. They do have a good prepared food selection, though there is nothing crazy or spectacular in terms of an individual store. There are other options as grocery stores go, but Jewel tends to be the best in terms of overall price
This place super cool and super convenient The staff here is friendly and very helpful. And they have cool sales too. Parking is validated as long as you show the parking ticket. Otherwise, transportation is nearby. I give it four stars because nothing is perfect...you can always improve on something. Anyways, perfection is relative.
Clean and well stocked, only problem is that it doesn't have a good selection of genuine deals and sales to be found in the neighborhood locations. Reduced store brand selections as well as they tend to be the value(cheaper) selections as they use higher item prices as a deterrent against the indigent clientele patronizing the store.
Customer service skills leave little to be desired. It's a jewel. It gets the job done, but that's it. Nothing to write home about in terms of unique products or quality products. Also please bring your own bags. Unless you ask for paper you will be charged an additional fee of 11 cents on top of the 7 cent bag tax in Chicago.
As a foreigner in US, I was mildly shocked by the 3-4L vodka bottles this shop is housing. Living nearby for a couple of weeks, I got addicted to their doughnuts.... A well sorted convenience store, almost a supermarket by other countries standards. Excellent if you're renting, or just living in, a place with a full kitchen.
Such rude employees this morning, the young man wiping down the turnstile door and wouldn’t move out of the way or say anything as I was trying to leave through those same doors as I came; like why are you wiping down doors when there’s a high volume of customers in the am moving about? No one is forcing you to work there
This Jewels Hot Food ,The Fried Chicken and Pizza Puffs are Not as Good as other Jewels Locations.... The Pizza Puffs are Always Under Cooked and the Fried Chicken is a Hit or Miss...Today it was a Miss ,The Chicken Breast Taste like Lighter Fluid in the Past at this Jewels Location ,I've Returned Chicken because of it!
It can be difficult to locate items at this store. Otherwise, it’s a great grocery store. Prices are better than the stores in the area. The produce is fresh and plentiful. I find the bananas are often in good condition too. Easy money saving tip is to look for the meats marked with the “50% off managers special” tags.
Whoever was straightening the cases of water by the back of the store -- he's not a people person...!! Very unprofessional. This store is good for convenience and quick shopping; the flashing parking spots out front are helpful; they offer garage parking around the corner with your receipt, after shopping...
I saw something horrific recently. The manager on duty was basically harassing her staff. The scene she made was not explosive but it was loud enough for me to hear a couple feet away. As a customer it does not make me feel good shopping somewhere where I know the workers are being treated in such manner.
A somewhat smaller store that is super busy and that is putting it mildly. But some of the bakery staff are quite helpful and the floral manager is amazing and always so helpful. I appreciate that service so I endure long checkouts. In general, the store is clean convenient friendly and fairly priced
The administration of this store Why don't you take care of your customers?. There is no PARKING for a car, you enter the store these street yellow vest people there watch every car when you enter this store you leave the car for 5 minutes, they immediately fix a fine on your car …
Such helpful staff. I was blown away by how helpful and knowledgeable the staff at this particular Jewel. I am new in the area but the location the fact that I am disabled it was easy to get around the store even though it's a bit small and all the help I received made it an enjoyable experience..
I felt sad, because I wanted to buy a hole piece of salmon and the person on the meat department didn't sell it to me he told me to get the piece in the cooler outside and left the station, I try to get it with another employee, she said I have to go to meat department. I felt discrimination.
Not as nice as some of the Jewel stores I've been in Chicago but perfect for a full shop or even if you need to grab a couple items. Asian employees made authentic sushi right near the deli counter. I find it to be rather tight within the store but as a grocery store it gets the job done.
Great supermarket, although I read that the inventory is limited or the lines are long etc I didn't see any of these things. There is a very large inventory and lots of different brands. Lines were 3 or 4 person long and you could get to the cashier in 2 to 3 minutes. Great supermarket.
Close to work. Zero customer service. 5+ employees working in the deli section but none decided to help me out. Also the food is gross; tasted like cooking gas. Also please people don't review stating they have "good selection of____...". Of course it has variety. It's a supermarket!
I like to shop here when I'm in the area because it's so close to the Red Line station at Grand. Prices are great for the neighborhood. Selection is decent, though not as broad as in other (larger) Jewel stores. Like other Jewels, it's a good place to get national brands and liquor.
It's no Wegmans, which I'm on the hunt for, it's more akin to a Tops Market Place with Wegmans prices. The front register area needs a reworking way too cramped in the front of the store. Overall layout of the isle's has a "we have stuff to sell cram it anywhere you can" feel to it.
It's a grocery store in the middle of downtown Chicago. I think the prices are reasonable and the selection is good for it's size (medium sized grocery). The deli counter is great. Employees are nice, and the energy is positive. Definitely swing in and grab some provisions!
Great little grocery store in downtown. Told the cashier this was my first time shopping in the city (I never lived in a city before) and she was so sweet to me and gave me some tips (e.g., grocery bags aren't free here!). Lots of selection here, and there's even a bakery.
This place is as close to the same prices you would find as downstate IL, where I live. I was impressed with the variety in a limited space, efficiency of the staff they did have, and cleanliness of the store for the amount of people in and out. Keep up the good work.
Great store. Close to work, so I can do my shopping downtown and not have to stop again before I get home. Just wish they had a larger selection. But hey, space is limited where they are, so I’m just happy to have a Jewel in such a convenient location to the subway.
customer service sucks, i asked a person where i could find something and they answered, “I dont know” and asked another guy working the meat department where i could find wine and they pointed towards the broken elevator and said over there? and then turned around,
Best Jewel I've ever been to. Everyone from the guys I the stockroom to the deli, to the cashiers are just the nicest and most helpful people. With the exception of one bad ape, who I've already filed a complaint against, these employees are among the best.
Need more staff, Especially at the Deli counter where there is only one person working the whole Deli. Cashiers are always making mistakes when ringing up items. Customer service counter not very friendly or helpful when it comes to fixing over charges.
Very small and crowded. Seems like always a line. Feels like a maze, hard to find the front of the store once you get toward the back. Employees just ok. Some nice, some just ok. A counter to sit at alongside the window. Right by the Red Line at Grand.
This is a great city location. The staff is always working and willing to help. The lines are really never to bad. It can get crowded during the day. Also be aware of the red line people that like to cause chaos outside. Just mind your business!
I went there specifically to buy a product that the website said this store had. They didn't. Their whole dairy section was very small as well. I got some other good stuff, just wish the website didn't lie. (Was looking for Tofutti cream cheese)
This Jewel location is a good sized location. With many different selections to choose from. They even have organic fruits and vegetables. I have requested several items that I like, and they brought them in. Very helpful and kind management.
IT'S BEEN A WHILE SINCE I WAS AT THIS JEWELS. THE PEOPLE ARE NICE, & HELPFUL WHEN I HAVE A QUESTION. THE SECURITY IS ON POINT, EVERYTIME I'M THERE. I FEEL COMFORTABLE SHOPPING THERE. THANKS 2 THE STAFF THERE FOR ALL YOU GUYS DO. ❤️ …
Great location for Jewel-Osco, with easy access for the River North and Gold Coast areas. It's great to see the fresh produce through the windows as you approach this grocery store. It is quite inviting and a brilliant way to advertise one
The signs for parking prices are not clear and it makes it seem as though you have an hour to leave once the ticket is validated. During the checkout process, the Jewel lines were very long and it took 20 min to pay for my groceries. As a
Decent selection at somewhat reasonable prices but the place felt incredibly chaotic and the smell near the produce section was unbearably bad. I do not have a sensitive nose by any means but whatever that stench was really caught me off
Came here for a breakfast snack, When i got to the register, i told the lady before i even put my items on the belt that i have me rewards card, Instead, the lady totals my items ignoring the fact that im clearly holding a rewards card
I like this mini Jewel. I mostly get fresh fruit and sushi and water from this location. The lines aren't long. The staff is very helpful and kind. Its a great location to refuel during those long shopping trips on the magnificent mile
This Jewel is small and clean, all the employees that I saw had their mask on correctly (over mouth and nose), people respected the social distance rule. I felt comfortable shopping here. The grill chicken is juicy and very delicious.
Delectable sweets, great prices, clean store and lots of fresh produce to choose from. I got the most amazing and tasty fruit tart there! The staff is also very friendly and welcoming to everyone. This is the perfect one-stop shop!
Awesome location with a usual selection for a jewel. The wine selection is enough for a city slicker like me. My enjoy stopping by here on my way home to pick up some small grocery items. The people could probably smile though.
I enjoy the great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. Excellent seafood selection. Live lobsters! They also carry a very varied selection of condiments from all over the world. Bakery is good too! Clean and well managed.
This is a marketplace and setup wholly to maximize space usage, which has been done very well. There tends to be sales here that aren't at the other locations. It's also conveniently located near the Grand Red Line Station.
All I can say is Jewel is the best kept secret for Fresh Flowers at a GREAT PRICE! A dozen roses $9.99 and lilies 3 packs for $12.00 Amazing when you have to work within a budget yet keep up your Mothers Day traditions.
Smaller selection than most Jewels but they have all the essentials. Long lines around rush hour and all evening on the weekends but they move people through super fast and are always helpful whenever there's an issue!
Wide selection at reasonable prices at this centrally located grocery store. Lots of fresh produce and even prepared food can be found at this location. Helpful and friendly staff. Open until midnight on most days.
By far the best worst Jewel in Chicago. They are always out of stock of so many things. On top of that, the workers at the Deli are the awful to deal with. Extremely slow and are completely unwilling to help you.
This is a great place to get cheap groceries! The staff are friendly, and there’s rarely any wait. Plus, the quality of the fruit and salmon is great for the price. Not the best, but still good quality overall.
I love jewel but I had to knock a star off because they didn’t sell Stacey’s pita chips. I went there to specifically buy those and they didn’t have it! Other than that, good deals and still go to this location
It's a medium size supermarket with good vegetables most of the time. I wouldn't recommend buying meat here - I purchased flank stake (two times already) and later discovered it was stinky and bad. …
It is another branch of the regional grocery chain, but with reduced selection, a confusing layout, and reduced restocking, all due to the tourist area location. Better for errand run than full range shopping
Trying to figure out if this is a regular grocery store that will have what I'm looking for or if it's some type of deli for getting lunch, but I can't see in because they've blocked off all the windows.
Pretty decent option in river north. Downsides are vagrants in and around store, and cramped aisles. Also a somewhat reduced selection due to the size of the store. Otherwise a jewel like any other.
Narrow aisles but otherwise Jewel-Osco provides a wonderful grocery shopping experience in the heart of the Chicago with a complete range of fresh and frozen foods, fruit, meat, and much more.
More than likely Jewels would have everything you need for convenience. And they offer a great selection of Bakery items. They also offer early morning hours and late nights as well.
Best Chicken/Deli far and wide I've published a book of Spiritual Poems titled THESE SHOES A SPIRITUAL AND POETIC JOURNEY. Pls support...Great as a Gift or Stocking Stuffer …
The girls from hot bar are very disrespectful with customers! We are not ,,friends or bff ‘ to spoke with us like that ! Move in a place like form you you don’t belongs here !!!
VERY POOR CHOICE OF FRESH FISH. "3 packs" of romaine hearts were not in stock. VERY overpriced eggs (compared to Target one block away) Kinda sorry we stopped at this location.
Great products, and cheap, but bad costumer service, the girl with black shirt is always on her phone, or flirting with the security guard. saying very inappropriate things
Nice grocery store for being in the city. Had everything I was looking for. Not gonna have every type of every brand, but you'd do fine here for everyday shopping for sure.
Unprofessional pharmacy - just called about my prescription and the person on the other line put me on hold while I was in the middle of providing context on my scripts.
In the two times I've come to this location, I've found molded strawberries, rancid meat, and freezer burned shrimp. Seems like this place is not a well-run operation.
Super fast shopping! Everything is FRESH and the staff is very helpful and patient with older and 1st time customers. Excellent fried chicken for a quick pickup …
One of the best groceries in the city of Chicago. You can find them on all the bust streets. Complete, but if you are looking for full Asian groceries, go to H mart.
Sometimes, I hate Jewel for being pricy against Target but they cover up with most of the stuff they have. Fresh everything and taken care of. Often shop here.
They do a good job. Come here and find one of the best stores we have. Friendly employees, freshness all over. And prices you can live with. I recommenced it.
African-American guy about 511 6 feet tall walked up to me no security vest, walked upto me and muffed me in the face. I’m pressing charges and I got pictures.
